Lessons Learned from 9/11

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
While President Bush paints Iraq as the central front in the war on terror, the former members of the 9/11 Commission say the government isn't doing enough to protect us from another attack at home.
The bipartisan panel issued a shocking report card last week on the government's response to 41 recommendations the commission made in July 2004.
They released a set of "grades," A to F, to track the progress of many of the recommendations made.
The government earned five F's, 12 D's, two incompletes and only one high grade (an A-minus for blocking terrorist financing).
Even more unsettling were the emotions panelists displayed about the gaps in security precautions. "Are we crazy?" demanded Jim Thompson, former Republican governor of Illinois. "Why aren't our tax dollars being spent to protect our lives?"
Grade Point Average: .88 on a four point scale.

Our tax dollars are being spent to save lives... just not the lives of the american people. No, instead we're saving the lives of Iraqis on the other side of the planet. Wait a second... we're not doing that either. What are we doing then???
And yet again today, Bush linked why we are in Iraq to 9/11!
Why do they STILL try to insist on linking the two??
Even when directly asked why he links them...he didn't answer the question.
mammalicious, He only needs to answer with four little words. "Rove told me to. "
TO ALL GRASSROOTS DEMOCRATS
Re: 9/11 DESTRUCTION an EXTREME Right Reality.
Concerning 9/11, it is my hope that the GRASSROOTS of the Democratic Party will listen to all David Ray Griffin has to say about his thorough and professional academic investigation into what really happened 9/11/01. All evidence relative to the events that happened to the United States on 9/11/01 must be verified by Grassroots Democrats. David Ray Griffin's evidence must be considered and I have heard no one consider his points. David Ray Griffin's points are valid and must be presented to the American People and a thorough investigation into what Professor Griffin has turned up must be done. There is valid information in David Ray Griffin's report. Enough evidence that one should back up and take another look and not continue to believe the act was perpetrated only by those few terrorists. The EXTREME Right and all EXTREME Right accomplices performed what was necessary in order to have a "New Pearl Harbor".

This is qualified evidence and should not be taken lightly, as many Americans lost their lives when all three World Trade towers were demolished from the ground instead of by those planes.
In the last week I have seen three times a better report on FREE SPEECH TV, Satellite 9415. If you can see the report on FSTV, it will be better; but the FSTV report doesn't have the question and answer session at the end of the speech. DISH Satellite 9415 FREE SPEECH TV have a web site at www.freespeechtv.org
PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS REPORT.
As sad as it is, reports like this one seem to fall on deft ears. Everyone in this country should be mad about this because we are all at risk from another terrorist attack. What Republicans seem to forget is that they die just as easily as a Democrat when it comes to acts of terror.
The bipartisan 9/11 Commission gave very specific recommendation to secure the homeland. This administration has done next to nothing about the recommendation.
Instead this President has been eroding individual rights and privacy. This President in secrecy authorized spying on US citizens. This President believes torture is acceptable. Only a war hero who himself had been tortured in Vietnam could stand down the President the misguided stance by Dick.
The extreme right of the Republican party claims its goal is to make government smaller.
They have a weird way of doing it. While they are cutting back on taxes for the rich, and benefits for the poor, and money for infrastructure repairs and the legislation they passed controlling schools with the "Every Child Left Behind Act", they are also supporting more and more government meddling in our personal and religious lives.
It's starting to look a lot like China, with its overcontrolling government, with their oligarchy and sweat shops for the poor.
Of course the Bushies aren't oligarchs, they are OILigarchs.
Scarier and scarier. Can the Constitution survive another 3 years of these goons?
Impeach Bush Now!
More people, Republican and Democrat, need to read Griffin's books. If you don't know who he is and you are reading these posts then it is about time you found out.
The Bush administration really believes that the war on terrorism is being fought on their chosen battleground, Iraq. We know that while Iraq has become a place for terrorist recruitment, we are really fighting insurgents who want us out. The Bush administration has hazardously chosen to go on the offensive in a needless war and that is their excuse for ignoring DEFENSE at home. THE PRESIDENT SAYS IT ALL THE TIME. We are fighting them there instead of here. If you ignore the essential immorality of unnecessary war, the administration is still horribly deficient in its tactics regarding this war on terrorism. There are 2 wars happening right now and it is hard for the president to keep them separated so give him a break(just kidding). I believe history will show that we are fighting 2 wars. One the administration has arguably misnamed the War on Terror, the other war is the Oil Wars. What other explanations can you give for the Bush administration ignoring the majority of the 9/11 commissions recommendations? We are fighting offensive wars. That is the reason defense of the homeland is a lower priority and why they believe it can be safely ignored.
Hard-core terrorists don't care about the Iraqi civil war, except that they can use it for a recruiting tool.
The scary thing is the increasing number of non-Middle Eastern muslims and muslim converts who are getting involved in terrorist activities, mainly because they think they are helping free the Iraqis.
This is fighting the war on terrorism?
Yeah, and did you see those winged hogs coming in for a landing at the airport today?
As for what Bush really believes, you can look deep into the man's eyes and see the roots of his hair. He is a front man for a corrupt power-hungry OILigarchy.
We need to stop these greedy elitists while we still have a country left.
IMPEACH BUSH & CHANEY!!!
Tug and all patriots:
David Ray Griffin's report shows that three towers came down, two of which were the twin towers and the explosion in the Pentagon; but all were destroyed by carefully and complicitly set demolition explosions set at the bottom of each of the buildings that would have had to have been set by demolition experts complicit with our United States government. It was not the airplanes used by the Saudis that destroyed all those buildings. It was supposed Saudi terrorists who flew into the twin towers, but the heat of the fuel alone was not enough heat to bring down the buildings as most of the fuel blew up outside of the building. The pancake theory from heat would not have destroyed any of those buildings. Those planes were not the cause of all the firemen being killed as they tried to help. The buildings were all blown up from beneath.
David Ray Griffin's report needs to be checked into in order to find the truth. It apparently is not terrorists from without that our country needs to be concerned about; but terrorists in our own government.
Apparently the media is complicit as well. Here is the link again:

Butte:
I do not know how we can impeach Bush and his cabal, but if we can it would behoove us to be about the impeachment process at the earliest possible moment, as this Republican EXTREME cabal represents nothing that is of best interest to our country as a whole. These people are an EXTREME cabal that cares nothing about anything except power and control and are destroying our country.
We need to start pushing for impeachment. It's going to have to be a grass-roots thing. The Republicans are starting to show cracks in the structure since Katrina, and the indictments of Repubican pols over various matters. If Republicans get hit with emails from dissatisfied voters, explaining why they are NOT going to be voting Republican, but not mentioning party affiliations, it would go a long way toward loosening up the moderates. We don't need the whole Republican machine to crack, just enough moderates chipping off to get a majority vote for impeachment.
