She Wasn't Kidding

In the entry below this one, Katy mentioned a "large display of materials" they created to help recruit new volunteers.
One thing that helped us in getting our message out last night: we created a large display of materials based on the DNC 50-State Strategy presentation used in last November's national Kick-Off events. We pulled out the heart of the presentation, made a flow chart out of the bottom-up grassroots organizing concept and highlighted some major points. We added in some photos of our volunteers, and some local volunteering needs and highlighted precinct organizing especially since we have our annual precinct meetings coming up. It was a great way to get the word out. We also had volunteers circulating through the crowds all night with clipboards holding either volunter sign-up sheets or voter registration forms. Finally, we hit the idea of Democracy Bonds hard and had plenty of sign-up sheets for them, not to mention lots of tee shirts and water bottles prnmoting the bonds as well.
I happened to snap a few photos of those materials -- take a look. Click to enlarge:

It was beautiful.

Events, events, events! What fun. And pictures. Ooooh - picture, too.
One would almost forget that this is the site of the party that hid under a table just the day before yesterday.
WHistle past the graveyard, dude.

Could someone please post a clearer picture of that graphic in the first picture with the arrow type flow chart? The one that has the grassroots at the top and the DNC on the bottom.
That looks interesting. I know that has been Governor Dean's purpose...growing the party from the bottom up.
Looks like a great event last night.

Just ignore Baron, Tim. I think this sort of thing is great. Rome wasn't built in a day and we certainly can't retake our country in a day either. This does show that we're getting the grassroots organized and involved and that we're taking back our nation one precinct at a time. On a SOTU note, I think Tim Kaine was an excellent choice for the response. One of the things Democrats are becoming more comfortable with is showing how our faith informs our views and how caring for the poor, caring for the environment, and demanding equal rights, are all the sorts of issues that spiritual people can join with us on.

JSCram -
And Rome burned while someone fiddled.
While you are "taking back this nation one precinct at a time" (BTW - are you keeping an accurate count???) the Republicans are taking control of the Supreme Court and have a pretty substantial headlock on the Senate, the House, and the state houses around the country.
But you make an excellent DLC case. Show the vast "middle of the road" out there that we can pray "gooder n' the Republicans" and maybe they'll vote foe us'n Democrats by ack-see-dent.
Bravo!

WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE FLORIDA DEMOCRATS? HOW HAS THE 50-STATE STRATEGY AFFECTED THEM? HAVE THEY HIRED REGIONAL ORANIZERS? AS USUAL, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE FDP IS DOING.
I'M ONLY WRITING IN ALL CAPS TO GET SOMEONE AT THE DNC'S ATTENTION.

My chest swells a little more everyday when I hear of the good and great things our Democrats are doing! "How beautiful are the feet of the people that bring the truth about the State Of Our Union to the people!" I would name you, every one, but I am sure they would cut me off before I got even half through, the names. We are naming you several at a time. But, it would be nice if everyone could receive a" Thank You Note." Just to let you know we noticed your good work for the people.
