WLF DC Celebration of Women's History Month
On Thursday, March 23, over 130 members of the Women's Leadership Forum gathered together at the Democratic Party's National Headquarters in Washington, DC to celebrate National Women's History Month and to visit with their friends and colleagues.Governor Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, joined Capital area WLF members and their friends as they celebrated women's roles in the Democratic Party. In a crowd-pleasing address, Governor Dean reminded those present that women are the only majority group within the Democratic Party, and that it will be women who will play a large role in the revitalization of the Party. He thanked the WLF for their continued support and enthusiasm for the DNC's programs.
The Governor was introduced by WLF Co-Chair Janice Griffin, following remarks from the Director of the DNC's American Majority Partnership, Chris Owens. Both women congratulated the members of the Women's Leadership Forum for their continued success in creating and cultivating a diverse constituency group which promises to consistently reach out on behalf of the Democrats.
The event was a fantastic way for the Women's Leadership Forum to pause for a moment and celebrate Women's History Month: surrounded by supporters ready and willing to further women's causes on the national level!
