Kicking Ass: The Democratic Party's Blog

Caption Contest

Posted by on April 11, 2006 at 05:35 PM

When Kate and I delivered the letter from Chairman Dean to Ken Mehlman earlier this morning, we were able to take this picture. Yes, that's me. I've sat here for about 15 minutes trying to think of something witty and clever to caption the photo with, but after spending so much time in RNC HQ, all I can think of is to start accusing you of time and time again siding with terorrists, calling you cowards for recognizing the president's failed leadership in Iraq, hating America, telling you I can't post any more threads during the middle of an investigation, or any number of ridiculous statements that come out of the RNC when there is little record of progress to stand on. You got any captions?

The Tagaris Stampede

Well Tim, the only thing I can think of is how narrow the room is and how that seems to fit the narrow thinking that comes from it.

DNC representitive Tim Tagaris smiles at Repub emblem surrounded by sea of blue...

Ok, I'm done.

"I swear to you that the Republican Party is not in the pocket of the big American flag industry."

8
LoftyDonkey on April 11, 2006 at 06:22 PM

"When does the Revolution begin???"

how about

"At last, the Elephant has a Brain"!

(Hope you washed your hands Really good, when you got out of there, Tim! It really just gave me the creeps to see one of our favorite guys, standing near that GOP sign.)

9
PamB on April 11, 2006 at 06:24 PM

Ok, so how about...

Ladies and Gentleman, the Republicans have Finally left the building!

10
Kristen on April 11, 2006 at 06:26 PM

While the GOP might need all these flags to hide behind, we at the DNC stand proudly next to the flag in plain view, asking for the truth.

- a long caption, I guess.

Hey, is your name from the Book with the same title? I loved that book as a kid and still have my childhood copy that I have even read to my kids.

12
Kristen on April 11, 2006 at 06:33 PM

Although very tempting - I shan't shat on the rug.

13
Cyn_NY on April 11, 2006 at 06:36 PM

lol...Cyn...I had something along those lines "Donkey Bingo"

14
Kristen on April 11, 2006 at 06:38 PM

Kristen - yes, I love the book, too. I love the two babies trying to figure out who they are. I love it all. My copy was lost during a move once.

Just seems if we were all just who we are, and respected ourselves and each other, the world would be a better place. Just seems...

15
Free2BUNMe on April 11, 2006 at 06:41 PM

Kristen, yeah, that elephant rug logo thing calls out to be desecrated.

16
Cyn_NY on April 11, 2006 at 06:41 PM

I love the two babies as well! Geez, I haven't thought of that book in awhile. I'm going to go drag it off the self and read through it again.

Thanks for sparking those memories!

17
Kristen on April 11, 2006 at 06:43 PM

It MUST be due to the camera angle, but, isn't the elephant a little crooked?

Maybe not. But where is the yellow stripe on its back, and the wet spot under its underendowed "George-Hood"?

18
DPD on April 11, 2006 at 07:02 PM

We didn't find any SBD's here, either...

Tim Tagaris isn't afraid to talk about The Elephant in the room.

20

LOL - I can't think of anything clever - everyone else is much too clever for me to top.

"Forgive me Father for I have sinned?"

22
SandyH on April 11, 2006 at 07:14 PM

Well, it is small and narrow enough for a confessional. Can you imagine the lies and excuses this room has heard? The flags could be used to fan the incense and cover up the stench.

23
SandyH on April 11, 2006 at 07:19 PM

Tim, you should have hit the "flush" handle while at the podium.

Did you see any .28 gauge shotgun shells there?

Other items Tim found in the RNC:
1. Jimmy Swagart's little black book.
2. Empty Oxycontin bottles with Rush Limbaugh's name on them.
3. Bar tabs from MGM in Vegas that belong to Wm. Bennett.
4. Some snake oil intended as a gift for Pat Robertson.
5. Bush twins' empty beer cans.
6. Cliff Note's for "My Pet Goat".
7. Karl Rove's Hitler Youth Collection.
8. Tom DeLay's personal stock of Hustler mags.
9. Bill Frist's five favorite toupes.
10. Rick Santorum's inflatable friend.
11. Jerry Falwell's rainbow pin collection.
12. Mitch McConnell's poster of the Chippendales.
13. A magnum of hairspray from Sam's Club belonging to Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
14. Saxby Chambliss's bio of Benedict Arnold.
15. A love note from Joe Nomentum Zell Lieberman to George Bush.
15. George Bush's special ed papers and Ritalin prescription.

Hello, is anyone home.
