McCain Brings "Double Talk Express" to Arkansas
Today, the Double Talk Express will ride through Arkansas as Senator John McCain stumps for gubernatorial candidate Asa Hutchinson and tries out his newly minted stump speech for the 2008 Republican primary. Since his unsuccessful run in 2000 McCain has changed his position on abortion, gay marriage, creationism, and tax cuts. McCain has even gone so far as to embrace the Reverend Jerry Falwell, who McCain had previously called an "evil influence" on the Republican Party. Now, McCain and Falwell have "agreed to move forward."
"Unfortunately, Senator McCain seems to have auctioned off his principles for political gain," said Democratic National Committee Spokesperson Amaya Smith. "John McCain has changed his position so many times that Arkansans don't know where he stands on anything. Instead of serving his own ambitions, McCain should join Democrats who have a bold agenda of change and are working to create a government as good as the American people.”
