Americans living overseas can now use www.VoteFromAbroad.org to register to vote and request absentee ballots.

The Spanish version was launched last week so that 1.1 million Americans living in Mexico, and the hundreds of thousands living in other Spanish speaking countries can exercise their right to vote.

The Republicans are going for a big win in 2006. They will not get that many people to
cheat, oversea's. We will win the majorty the old fashioned way. We will earn it by our hard work from the grass roots up to the candidates. Everyone that can get to one place to the other are working to pull in the vote. I hope each local party office will print the names of hard working Americans in the local news papers, working for the Democratic Party to win

Interesting. I was under the impression that citizens abroad already could vote. No?

This is a Monday posting and I an listening to NPR report on the Mexican presidential vote, which is too close to call, and was surprised to hear a naturalized Mexican say that he always voted in America AND was going to go to Mexico to also vote. I am confused here. Can citizens of one country (naturalized or otherwise) vote in BOTH countries? I was under the impression that one can vote in the country that one considers to be his/her home country and not in any other country -- regardless if they were born there or not. What kind of immigration paperwork and laws are involved here. Does anyone know?
