Democrats in Chicago: Community Service Project

Posted by on August 17, 2006 at 07:33 PM

The first item on the agenda after landing in Chicago was to head out to the Greater Chicago Food Depository for a few hours of community service. When I heard this was our project for this meeting, I envisioned a soup kitchen-esque operation. Boy, was I wrong!

Inside the Greater Chicago Food Depository Warehouse

The Greater Chicago Food Depository serves the entirety of Cook County. Over half a million people receive assistance through this amazing organization, and 37% of those are children.

Before we headed into the massive warehouse we heard a little bit about the organization's mission. First and foremost the mission of the Depository is to provide food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in their community. In partnership with 600 qualified nonprofit member pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, seniors and children programs, the Depository and their volunteer force feed Chicago's neediest.

A staffer from the GCFD explains the organization's mission

DNC staff, members and even a few executive directors all made the trip to the depository today. Our task was simple, to take cartons of strawberries that had been donated and sort the good from the bad, and even the ugly. We then repackaged the good strawberries which were headed out on trucks for distribution tomorrow.

Getting down to work

Separating the good from the bad

It was an amazingly efficient operation. As we worked alongside some Chicago natives and plucked the good strawberries, we heard some great stories from fellow volunteers. The couple I stood next to was taking a day off of work to perform their community service. Their company allows them to take a few days each year in order to give back to their community. I thought that was pretty fabulous.

Many hands make light work..."

In addition, I also had the chance to talk with the Washington Democratic Party Executive Director. Jaxon raved about the accomplishments of Grassroots Democrats in his state and shared with me some of their best practices.

All in all, it was informative and inspiring to be able to land in a new town and immediately do something that would help the people who live in this great city.

The meeting is just getting underway. The real action starts bright and early tomorrow morning. I'll have updates throughout the day and hopefully pictures and videos along the way too.

Sen. Lieberman Must Respect Decision of Voters

Senator Lieberman asked us to respect his conscience on voting for the war in Iraq, now he must respect the conscience of Democratic voters in his home state of Connecticut in voting for Ned Lamont as their nominee to the United States Senate.

I will introduce at our Democratic National Committee meeting in Chicago on August 19th, along with Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an urgent resolution on behalf of the California DNC membership to urge Senator Lieberman to withdraw from the race and support Ned Lamont.

We cannot be bullied by the GOP’s attempts to infringe upon our nominating process and elections, nor by their attempts to ridicule the more than 60 percent of Americans who do not support Bush's war in Iraq.

We are a Party committed to a strong defense of our nation and abroad. We are a Party committed by words and deeds to a secure homeland. We will, however, never give up our inalienable right to question the foreign policies of our nation, notwithstanding the Party in office.

Our precious rights, and more importantly the lives of our young men and women serving in the Armed Forces, are at stake.

I have heard the DNC plans to take a "Lieberman vote" this weekend.

I have been a registered Democrat for over 30 years.

I cannot begin to tell you how terribly disturbing it is that you are even taking such a vote.

Ned Lamont won the Democratic Party nomination for U.S. Senate from Connecticut fair and square.

Ned Lamont is the candidate CHOSEN BY THE VOTERS of Connecticut TO REPRESENT THEM in the Senate.

I urge the DNC to support the democratically elected candidate!

Support Ned Lamont for Senate, firmly and openly ENDORSE NED LAMONT.

I have no connection to Ned Lamont or his campaign. But I feel strongly the Democratic Party is absolutely WRONG to toy with the idea of giving any support whatsoever to Joe Lieberman.

For the sake of the Democratic Party, and of our country's democracy, PLEASE support the choice of the Connecticut voters.

Great project! It reminds us of what we Democrats are all about!

Speaking of reminders: What is the DNC doing to remind those Senators who can't bring themselves to support the choice of CT's Democratic Primary voter that party loyalty works both ways? Just in case their Blackberries/cell phones are on the fritz, or their Gobi Desert accommodations lack TV, his name is NED LAMONT. Joe Lieberman has forfeited any claim to party loyalty from other Senators, so what ties them to him--are they closet Bushies on Iraq? What does Dodo Joe "have" on them?

The Democratic National Committee is doing WHAT? Taking a vote on whether the Democratic Party should support the Democratic candidate,Ned Lamont, who was chosen by the Democratic voters in CT's Democratic Primary? Sure, they'll probably support him, but why highlight for CarpingCableNews the fact that we have so many psuedoDemocrats among us. It's not as though Ned Lamont is a parolled axe-murderer, who somehow stole the election! Please don't do this!

"..but why highlight for CarpingCableNews the fact that we have so many pseudoDemocrats among us."
Unfortuantely that cat's already out of the bag, having been made appearant by such phonies like Ken Salazar, and Mark Pryor, who have publicly come out in support of Lieberman, alongside of their "good buddies" on the Republican side of the aisle.
The DLC has come out with the rationale that the "less politicians pay attention to the grassroots, the better they can represent voters as a whole."
Since the grassroots, which are the majority of the Democrat contstituency, are not being represented by the Republicans, nor the Republi-lites, how does this better represent voters as a whole???
By trying to keep the betrayal of their constituents a big secret, when it's the 1000lb gorilla in the living room, we are serving neither the Democrat party or the constituents who have been so betrayed and abused by these sell-outs.
It's bad enough we have to deal with Republican greed and corruption, but the disease has spread to the Democrat party as well and needs to be excised.

With 49 other states to be concerned about, I don't understand why some of the people on this board continue to go on so much about Conneticutt and Joseph Lieberman. He is pretty much out of the race now, so why don't we concentrate on a lot of the other candidates that are in races this year? Expecially races in forgotten regions such as the south, midwest, and mountain states. Those are the regions where we need to start picking up Senators and Representatives for the Democratic Party.

14
LavoniaW on August 23, 2006 at 07:34 PM

And also, I want to say that the main reason that the Republican Party gets and maintains power so much in this country is because the Democratic Party has forgotten regions such as the south, midwest, and mountain!

That is why these people are in control of our government right now, so I say again, that I do not understand all of this facination with one state and one man. And anyhow, even if Lieberman were to get in there again (which is doubtful),Conneticutt is pretty much a liberal state that already has a lot of liberal and democratic representatives (on the local, state, and federal levels).

If we want to regain control over this country again, we need to start concentrating on states and regions that the Democratic Party has all but turned their backs on in recent decades! That is how we will regain and be able to maintain a majority in all levels of government, including the federal level.

15
LavoniaW on August 23, 2006 at 07:45 PM

Lavonia:
The reason that the Lieberman race has had so much attention is the simple fact that there have been so many of the Republi-lite sell-outs coming out and putting down the Conecticutt voters who have gotten fed up with Lieberman's support of Republican issues at the expense of his constituents' interests.
By focusing on Lieberman we have a case study that is applicable throughout the Democrat party, serving to highlight the corruption and disrespect for the voters throughout both the Republican and Democrat parties.
The masks have come off of a number of sell-outs in other states, who came out and denigrated the voters and supported Lieberman, exposing the depth of the Republi-lite corruption which has divided the Democrat party, and gutted it.
These so-called Democrats have joined the Republicans in supporting Lieberman and disrespecting the grass-roots who are trying to be heard.
The grass-roots working people, including people in rural areas which have been long neglected by both political parties in favor of the huge agri-businesses, have been treated only as rabble to be manipulated by spin-doctors.
We need to realize what's going on and stand up to it so that we can take back the Democrat party, as our only hope for relief in the 2008 presidential election, and oppose the now-revealed turn-coats in the Democrat party in this election and after.
Lieberman is the first step and is important because many of the closet turn-coats are now revealed.
The gloves are off. We need to fight back!!!

****U. S. Government IS Bankrupt****

The CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING REPUBLICAN EXTREMISTS of the BUSH ADMINISTRATION have “Borrowed and Spent” the Government of the United States into bankruptcy [bankrupt as of March 2006 per former Secretary of the Treasury, John W. Snow], by amassing debt service that is 40% of the combined annual taxes of the Nation on a 9 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT.

As a Nation, the United States MUST NOT LEASE OR SELL OFF the Nation’s Resources and Assets in support of the BUSH ADMINISTRATION’S “Borrow and Spend" Governance by New World Order moles of the CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING EXTREMISTS currently in power in the Government of the United States.

The United States IS BANKRUPT, and WE THE PEOPLE must realize it and “Let The Dollar Go” in the same way our “Fathers”let the Continental Currency Go in 1779. When the Continental Dollar Collapsed in BANKRUPTCY our “Fathers” “Rebooted the System”. See following links:

http://people.hsc.edu/faculty-staff/khohenstein/History111/Lectures.htm

Our “Fathers” were wise and DID NOT LEASE OR SELL OFF THE NATION’S PUBLIC RESOURCES AND ASSETS in support of the bankrupt government, and WE THE PEOPLE must be as wise today as the “Fathers” were in 1779.

The CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING REPUBLICAN Government of the United States has leased public air space in Chicago to a private company in AUSTRALIA for 99 YEARS, leased a public toll road on Indiana Interstate 80/Interstate 90 to two private companies in AUSTRALIA and SPAIN for the next 75 years, where toll will now have to be paid; and, if collected by Indiana, will no longer support the infrastructure of Indiana for 75 YEARS, but will support private companies in SPAIN and AUSTRALIA; selling/leasing public utilities to private companies who have no interest in WE THE PEOPLE of the United States; and, of course, the sale/lease of the U.S. ports to foreign countries:

http://www.reason.org/apr2006/air_transportation.pdf

http://www.thenewamerican.com/artman/publish/article_4163.shtml

The following is quoted from TheNewAmerican.com web site:

The Buyout Begins

Unlikely as it may seem that foreign interests could buy our country out from beneath us, the process is already underway.

"On a single day in June," reported the AP on July 15, "an Australian-Spanish partnership paid $3.8 billion to lease the Indiana Toll Road. An Australian company bought a 99-year lease on Virginia's Pocahontas Parkway, and Texas officials decided to let a Spanish-American partnership build and run a toll road from Austin to Seguin for 50 years.

Few people know that the tolls from the U.S. side of the tunnel between Detroit and Windsor, Canada, go to a subsidiary of an Australian company — which also owns a bridge in Alabama."

These are just a few examples of how roads and bridges built with U.S. taxpayer dollars are starting to be sold off, and so far foreign-owned companies are doing the buying.

State and local governments are strapped for cash and relatively limited in the financial tools at their disposal. (While they can float bond issues, for instance, they cannot simply write blank checks that are covered by new money printed by the Federal Reserve.) Thus many of them, lured by the prospect of a quick influx amounting to billions of dollars, have put public assets — highways, airports, utilities, and even state-run lotteries — on the auction block.

While this approach offers a short-term remedy for state and local governments, it leaves the public facing the worst of both worlds: the prospect of increased taxes to cover rising local expenses, plus paying fees and tolls to foreign companies that are, in effect, absentee landlords over what had been locally controlled infrastructure.

Referring to the sale of a 75-year lease over the Indiana Toll Road to an Australian-Spanish consortium, Democratic state Representative Patrick Bauer summarized the lose-lose proposition: "In five, maybe 10 years, all that money is gone, and the tolls keep rising and the money keeps flowing into the foreign coffers."

Last winter, much of the United States was figuratively up in arms over the prospect of an executive branch deal to permit Dubai, one of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to operate U.S. port facilities. This was seen, with just reason, as a potentially disastrous breach of national security, since it would put our port security in the hands of a company owned by a government cozy with al-Qaeda.
Yet less than six months later, Congress enacted a "free-trade" agreement with Oman — which borders Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE — that would permit government-controlled companies in that Arab nation to own and operate U.S. ports.

Not surprisingly, China — which now controls the most crucial port facilities in the hemisphere, the "anchor ports" to the Panama Canal — is looking to build on that advantage, and it has cash-hungry politicians across the country lining up to help.In late July, three members of the Dallas City Council — Ed Oakley, Bill Blaydes, and Ron Natinsky — traveled to China to discuss a possible joint venture involving building and operating a shipping, storage, and distribution facility located inland for the purpose of relieving congestion at seaside entry ports, called the "Inland Port of Dallas," described by Traffic World as the "linchpin of a new NAFTA corridor." (The nascent Dallas port facility already has a working relationship with the Chinese-controlled Panama Canal Authority.)

"Dallas hopes to become the place where East meets West — literally," notes the publication. "It seeks Asian imports in containers shipped from Los Angeles and Long Beach and intermodal freight moving north from Mexico on the proposed $180 billion Trans-Texas Corridor, or 'TTC.'"This explains the pilgrimage of Dallas councilmen to Beijing to court China's favor. Houston's city government has also made a pitch to China. Both Houston and Corpus Christi are reportedly offering Beijing access to ports on the Gulf of Mexico, and China is reportedly in negotiations to lease Kelly Air Force Base, which was converted into an industrial park about five years ago.

But these developments in Texas are just "part of a larger battle that involves cities such as Kansas City, Missouri; St. Louis; Memphis, Tennessee; and even Indianapolis, all of which hope to use transportation and logistics assets to become the next big North American Gateway for Asian imports," concludes Traffic World.

Beijing, U.S.A.

But we're not just talking about importing inexpensive Chinese-made consumer goods. Remember the process described by Bonner and Wiggin in Empire of Debt: dollars are printed by the Federal Reserve, which are spent on Chinese-made goods, and end up being sent back to the United States as loans, which are used to buy more Chinese-made goods. We've reached the point in this process where American politicians are literally begging Beijing to be taken on as business partners. And if Laurence Kotlikoff's recommendations prove attractive to policymakers, our government will come to embrace "direct investment" from China as the key to staving off utter insolvency.

What this could mean, in practical terms, is that the debt-wracked American middle class would suffer the fate of the businessman in our parable.

Serf's Up by William Norman Grigg

During the late 1990s, abetted by the Federal Reserve's loose money and easy credit policies, an unprecedented number of Americans invested money in the stock market, many of them seeking a quick fortune in "dot-com" tech stocks. The Fed continued its inflationary policies following the 2000 bursting of the "dot-com" bubble, which wiped out trillions of dollars in speculative wealth.

The result was a nationwide housing and mortgage refinancing bubble, with artificially low interest rates permitting millions of borderline or unqualified borrowers to get mortgage loans on almost concessionary terms.

Escalating demand for new homes drove home prices skyward, permitting debt-plagued households to take out second or even third mortgages against the inflated value of their homes in order to pay off high-interest debt, such as credit cards and car payments.

After the Fed reversed course and raised interest rates, the Hindenburg-sized real estate bubble backed into a nest of porcupines. Mortgage foreclosures surged 72 percent in the first quarter, as compared to a year ago.

Last February, Wayne County, Michigan, financially crippled by the ongoing demise of General Motors, was the site of a spectacle out of the Great Depression: a Wednesday foreclosure auction of 379 homes in 35 minutes. During one 60-second stretch, 11 houses were auctioned away.

In June, reported the August 7 Wall Street Journal, "total single-home sales fell 8.7% from a year earlier." This was the sharpest decline since April 1995, when the Fed began its recent inflationary binge.

While some analysts insist that the housing/mortgage industry will enjoy a "soft landing," Ian Shepherdson, chief U.S. economist at High Frequency Economics, is more realistic: "It's a 15-year bubble unwinding in two years. It's going to hurt."And because our consumer economy now effectively rests on the housing/mortgage refinancing bubble, its collapse will inflict greater hurt on more people than any similar financial catastrophe in our nation's history.

"Never before have so many Americans gone so deeply into debt so willingly," warns Dr. Michael Hudson of the University of Missouri-Kansas in "The New Road to Serfdom," published in the June issue of Harper's. "Housing prices have swollen to the point that we've taken to calling a mortgage — by far the largest debt most of us will ever incur — an 'investment.'... In the odd logic of the real estate bubble, debt has come to equal wealth.

"Hudson points out that right now "more people owe more money to banks than at any other time in history. And that's not just in terms in dollars — $11.8 trillion in outstanding mortgages — but also as a proportion of the national economy. This debt is now on track to surpass the size of America's entire gross domestic product by the end of the decade."Tens of millions of Americans have been lured into mortgages by artificially low interest rates and the perverse notion that over-valued homes can serve as ATMs. Now that rates are rising and values are falling, those who bought into the bubble because of "the promise of 'economic freedom' almost certainly will end [up] ... locked into a lifetime of debt service that absorbs every spare penny," predicts Dr. Hudson. Rather than enjoying financial security, they "will find out that what they really signed up for was the hard servitude of debt serfdom."
[End of Quote]

Before it is too late, WE THE PEOPLE must do as the “Fathers” did with the Continental Currency; WE THE PEOPLE must let the dollar GO, let the bankrupt government GO, REBOOT THE SYSTEM; and GET ON with reformation of responsible government that is in the best interest of ALL of the people; rather than continuing with a bankrupt “Borrow and Spend” Government [selling off assets and resources that would benefit WE THE PEOPLE to pay the interest on the humungous debt, and falsely support the social structure] that cannot be saved for WE THE PEOPLE; and will ONLY benefit a tiny minority population of economic and political elite.

The United States GOVERNMENT of the people, by the people and for the people has been bankrupted by the CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING REPUBLICAN EXTREMISTS, and WE THE PEOPLE MUST REBOOT THE SYSTEM before all the assets and resources that WE THE PEOPLE rely upon are sold or leased for 99 years, so that WE THE PEOPLE will be UNABLE TO REBOOT THE SYSTEM because the system will not be our system any longer to reboot.

***LIBERAL and CONSERVATIVE***

To be LIBERAL is to be open to change. To be CONSERVATIVE is to be opposed to change; look it up; it will be in your dictionary the same as it is in mine.

LIBRALISM brought change that ended the Dark Ages, and brought the "light of the Renaissance" for the greater good of mankind, and CONSERVATISM was opposed to the change.

If you are in favor of progress for the greater good of mankind, and not opposed to change for the greater good, you are a LIBERAL. If you are opposed to progress for the greater good of mankind, want to regress back to some particular time when some particular vested interest would have power and prestige at the expense of the greater good; i.e., a feudal king during the Dark Ages, and you are opposed to change, you are a CONSERVATIVE.

The answer to whether we are LIBERAL or CONSERVATIVE is one that we all have to decide. I am a LIBERAL and I am proud to be a LIBERAL.

There are people in our society today, such as Condoleeza Rice, that have their freedom to foolishly proclaim that they are a CONSERVATIVE, because LIBERALS have fought and died to give them the right to proclaim their foolishness.

It is hard to reconcile Condoleeza Rice as being a CONSERVATIVE in service to a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION that has been, is, and continues to be opposed to change from the time of Washington and Jefferson when her ancestors were SLAVES. One would think that Condoleeza Rice would be doing her “Dog and Pony Show” in support of LIBERALS that are open to change for the greater good, that ended slavery and gave her ancestors freedom, rather than to perform her “Dog and Pony Show” for CONSERVATIVES that are opposed to change and want to interpret the Constitution as it was during the time of Washington, Jefferson and the Federal Ratio, the 2/3rds SLAVE VOTE that would allow her CONSERVATIVE Master, George W. Bush, to qualify for an additional 2/3rds VOTE for each of his slaves in the same way that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson did; in the end, perhaps, if the CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT is successful, Condoleeza Rice can do her “Dog and Pony Show” for Massa George, and Massa George can reward her in the same way Thomas Jefferson did Sally Hemmings; an appropriate reward perhaps, for Condoleeza Rice, but most expect more.

For Condoleeza Rice, a bright, well educated black woman that is heir to a LIBERAL gift of freedom, to allow herself to be used by George W. Bush as a “Little Black Crony Pony” that he can trot out for a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN “Dog and Pony Show” to suck up to the black vote is offensive to Condoleeza Rice as a black woman, offensive to black people as a whole, and offensive to ALL LIBERALS alive and dead, that gave themselves to the LIBERAL cause of freedom for black people everywhere.

I will support Condoleeza Rice’s freedom to support the CAUSE OF CONSERVATISM to my dying breath, but it is not possible to have respect for the foolishness of her behavior as a black woman, and her utter disregard for LIBERALS that made and continue to make her freedom possible.

????NEW WORLD ORDER ECONOMY????

WE THE PEOPLE of the United States are allowing agents of the NEW WORLD ORDER within the government of the United States, CONSERVATIVE RIGHT-WING REPUBLICAN EXTREMISTS, to intentionally BORROW, SELL and SPEND the United States and its people into BANKRUPTCY, so that as a "bankrupt nation", the United States will be forced into becoming a part of a NEW WORLD ORDER ECONOMY; this will result in the Standard of Living in the United States being lowered to that of China and India.

Do WE THE PEOPLE of the United States want to be complicit in this RIGHT-WING scheme to sell the American People down the river??????? Or, are WE THE PEOPLE going to put up a fight and not go quietly into the night of a NEW WORLD ORDER ECONOMY???????

How September 11th Really Happened

by Connie Cook Smith

August 24, 2006
- - - -

The problem is, not enough people know that the U.S. government is deeply
infiltrated by people who want to destroy the Constitution and end American
freedom.
- - - -

I know there is tremendous resistance to looking at the now-overwhelming
evidence that our government planned and carried out 9/11. But once you
see how infiltrated our government is -- by those who are truly contemptuous
of freedom and democracy -- then it becomes easy to comprehend that "our
government" is indeed the culprit behind 9/11.

And that framing "Muslim fundamentalists" for that horrendous crime is just
a ploy to make us feel hatred and fear, to get us to wage-war-on (conquer)
the Middle East, and to make us support creeping dictatorship at home.

This outright evil plan certainly has been working. And the millions who
don't know about all this are still believing it is "patriotic" to support
our government and the administration. But this un-informed attitude is
responsible for endangering, and possibly ending, our beloved United States
of America.

If you think about it, a subtle takeover of our country, over time, makes
sense. No outside nation or inside group will attempt an open and all-out
conquest of the USA. The wrath and might of our military (and our
citizenry!) would squelch that, in no time flat.

No. Those who desire to own and control our nation have taken the long-term
view. They have planned well, and moved in stealth and deception in order
to achieve their unholy goals -- even if it has meant not grasping all the
spoils until the next generation, or even the next.

They find it gratifying enough, along the way, to enjoy their progress and
their power. They find it sickly satisfying to be a part of the plan that
makes their arrogance win, and makes America lose.

If you look up things and read documentation -- if you wonder why the world
is like it is and so you do something about it by hunting down the facts --
then you readily discover mountains of evidence that sabotage of our country
has been going on right under our noses.

Worse, this sabotage is committed by people we've been taught to trust. And
our trusting them --our belief in their rhetoric about "American ideals"
over the decades, our enjoyment of the image-personalities they project --
is exactly how their plan is succeeding.

It is also how they bizarrely justify that we deserve to be taken over. We
are obviously "gullible and foolish" and therefore we don't deserve to have
the privileges of this nation. Only they do, as "superior ones." And they
actually believe they prove their superiority by getting away with deep
deception, for a long time now.

From my point of view, such criminals are demonstrating their depravity,
proving their inferiority as human beings. But as long as millions of us
support them and even cheer them on, we are weaving an ever-tightening noose
around our own necks. And they are emboldened to mock us and advance the
schemes against us behind closed doors.

It all goes back further than this, but consider William A. Dodd's published
words from 1937. Before we went into WWII against Germany, Dodd was the
U.S. ambassador in Berlin.

He wrote: "A clique of U.S. industrialists is hell-bent to bring a fascist
state to supplant our democratic government, and is working closely with the
fascist regimes in Germany and Italy. I have had plenty of opportunity in
my post in Berlin to witness how close some of our American ruling families
are to the Nazi regime. They extended financial aid to help fascism occupy
the seat of power, and they are helping to keep it there."

The truth of this came out when Congress seized the assets of Union Banking
Corporation in 1942. We finally had gone to war against Hitler, but since
the mid-1920's, this New York bank had been instrumental in funding Adolf's
guns, uniforms, pro-Nazi literature -- even providing aviation fuel
technology to fly Nazi planes.

Some of our soldiers eventually were killed by arms and other materiel that
came from these bankers, because -- to put it simply -- these wealthy
American movers and shakers were gung-ho supporters of Aryan "superiority,"
and corporate (not democratic) rule.

So who exactly were these bankers/backers of evil? George Herbert Walker
was the UBC bank president. And his son-in-law Prescott Bush served on the
board of directors from 1934-1943. E. Roland Harriman and W. Averell
Harriman also were involved in the day-to-day business of building up Nazi
Germany.

If these names sound familiar, it's because they are "some of our American
ruling families" that Ambassador Dodd alluded to long ago, who have since
then prospered more than ever. And please note that they are both
Republicans AND Democrats. Their supposed loyalty to a political party is
equally as deceptive as their supposed loyalty to American ideals.

There are too many other "ruling families" to list here, who have continued
on as closeted enemies of the U.S. Constitution. You can find them, though,
under "eugenics history in the U.S." There have been many American
industrial and political leaders who believe in "racial purity and
superiority," such as Hitler did. "All men are created equal" is a total
joke to them.

And look up "Project Paper Clip," the post-WWII importation of Nazi officers
to this country. These men were behind most of the anti-Communist hysteria
in the 1950's -- and were instrumental in certain U.S. presidential
campaigns since then.

Not to pick on the Bush family, because there are so many others in the
American elite who have a history of duplicity -- but since Bushes are
penultimately powerful and prominent in our nation, you need to know the
truth about them. You CAN handle the truth!

Consider statements by George Bush Sr, who apparently carried on Prescott's,
his father's, pro-nazi mentality. Representative Bush is in print in the
September 4, 1969 Congressional Record with a proposal to bribe
African-Americans to become sterilized because, in his words, blacks are
"down-breeding the quality of the U.S. population."

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed only the year before -- just
as other anti-corporate-power, anti-elite champions such as JFK, RFK, and
even John Lennon -- were eliminated.

As to that, are you aware that Lennon's shooter, and Ronald Reagan's shooter
4 months later, attended the same "Christian Camp," and knew each other? Do
you know that this "charity" camp was established by the man who tried but
failed to nominate Bush Sr for president in 1980?

The pro-corporate politicos did NOT want the more free-market Reagan to be
president. When Reagan made it, he soon found himself an assassination
target, too.

Reagan was shot by the son of John Hinckley Sr. It was Hinckley Sr who
tried to nominate Bush over Reagan in 1980. It was Hinckley Sr who
established the "Christian Camp" (World Vision) where Lennon's shooter and
Reagan's shooter were apparently brainwashed to kill, both using cues from
"A Catcher in the Rye."

Are you aware on the day after Reagan's shooting, John Chancellor announced
on the news that George Bush's son Neil had a dinner-date scheduled with
Reagan's shooter's brother, Scott Hinckley? Were the Bushes and the
Hinckleys planning that get-together to celebrate the death of Ronald
Reagan, and the elevation of Vice-President Bush to the presidency?

Are you aware that the current president's brother Marvin Bush had
electronic security contracts on the World Trade Center "up until the day
the buildings fell down"?
http://www.populist.com/03.02.burns.html

Are you aware that Bush Sr's brother Jonathan Bush was on the board of Riggs
Bank, which has been linked to terrorist money-laundering -- another Bush
bank, down through the generations, funding causes like nazism then, and
terrorism now? http://bellaciao.org/en/article.php3?id_article=2974

Would all this -- and there's so much more -- explain Bush Sr's remark to
reporter Sarah McLendon: "Yeah, Sarah, if people find out what we've done,
they'll chase us down the street and lynch us" -- spoken with a charming
smile and a smirk, like all the Bushes.

What I'm getting to here is THIS is how September 11th really happened.
We've been diminished and demoralized and nearly destroyed by these people
many times before. And they did it again in 2001.

Just think: President Bush Jr uncertainly sitting in a school and waiting
for instructions after being told "America is under attack," instead of
leaping up as anyone else would do and BEING commander-in-chief. The Secret
Service standing around and not even pretending to protect the president or
evacuate the children, because (ho-hum) the attacks were scheduled for New
York and Washington, not Florida.

Our Air Force, which had instantly intercepted 67 other planes in distress
that year, were scrambled too late only on 9/11 -- and even were sent in
the wrong direction out over the ocean, when they finally got airborne.

Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta testified that Dick Cheney on 9/11
refused to change the "do not intercept" orders, and as a result, the attack
on the Pentagon succeeded.

Are you aware that Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney were White House Chief of
Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff in the 1970's? And at that same time
George Bush Sr was made head of CIA? 30 years ago these guys were in
charge!

Richard Nixon -- who was funded and practically created by Prescott Bush and
banker buddies in the 1950's -- had been taken down in the '70's because he
was no longer serving their purposes, and Gerald Ford was installed in
Nixon's place.

And of course, Gerald Ford was the guy on the Warren Commission who
meticulously excluded all testimony about shots at JFK from many different
directions. Further, Ford admits he changed the wording about a shot to
Kennedy's back "by several inches," to being a shot to Kennedy's neck.
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/JFK/ford.html

Ford's alteration-on-record of forensic evidence makes all the difference
between the reality of multiple, professional, hired hitmen -- and the
nonsense of "Oswald acted alone." As a reward, I suppose, Congressman Ford
was made president when Nixon failed, Bush was made CIA director -- in
position to destroy critical records -- and Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney
were placed high in the White House, oh so long ago.

Bush Sr went on to become president and Cheney and Rumsfeld continued in
various top offices of power, even alternating as Secretary of Defense. On
9/11 they were in key positions -- Cheney in the White House and Rumsfeld in
the Pentagon -- to see that the United States' multi-billion-dollar defense
establishment utterly failed to protect the American people.

And meanwhile, Bush Sr's whelp, George Dubya -- a sissy-pants Yale
cheerleader, National Guard cop-out, and Skull & Bones go-along (their logo
is the same as the insignia on Nazi officers' caps) -- Dubya continually
struggles as Supreme-Court-appointed and faulty-Diebold-machines-created
president. And shows up with facial bruises sometimes when he doesn't do a
good job.

ALL THIS is how 9/11 really happened. We've been set up, folks, for quite a
long time -- by conscience-less men and women who earnestly feel superior to
the rest of us, who talk up "freedom and democracy" in public and laugh out
loud at it behind closed doors, and who are hell-bent on reducing the
Constitution to shreds -- especially with the horrific "Patriot Act" -- in
order to ruthlessly rule over us "inferior ones."

A year before September 11th, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush and others even
brazenly wrote up a Project for a New American Century document that calls
for "a new Pearl Harbor" -- in order to madly mobilize the American people
around hatred for and conquest of the Middle East abroad, and submission to
unconstitutional surveillance, searches, and seizures at home.

Dubya has joked that a dictatorship would be easier, "as long as I'm the
dictator" -- but he means it! Karl Rove is on record as admiring a stadium
full of American flag-wavers because "it looks just like a Nazi rally" --
and he means it!

But once you know that today's terrorists are financed by "America's ruling
families" -- as Hitler was financed by them -- as JFK and other
pro-democracy leaders were eliminated by them -- then you realize that
September 11th was indeed an inside job, because the insiders are traitors.
And you realize that the "war on terror" is really a war on the American
people -- which has been conducted by these traitors, using various slogans
and covert methods, for a very long time.

It's urgent now to support and vote ONLY for political candidates who
support 9/11 Truth. It's time to toss out the 9/11 Cover-Up Commission
Report and launch a genuine investigation. It's time to send these
long-term scoundrels to prison, take back our country -- and start all over
in genuine freedom and peace.

Politics 101: You Can't Remove the Democratic Party From the Democratic Party

By David Sirota

For a very long time, Washington insiders, faux centrist pundits/politicians, and organizations like the Democratic Leadership Council have waged a brutal war on the working-class base of the Democratic Party. This is no secret. That war has fed off propaganda that inherently gives credence to both right-wing policies and dishonest Republican stereotypes of the Democratic Parety. Ultimately, the result has been more and more Democratic candidates seeming ashamed of being Democrats, and thus doing whatever they can to publicly pretend they aren't Democrats. Put another way, the result has been attempts to achieve the impossible: to remove the Democratic Party from the Democratic Party.

Matt Stoller today highlights a passage from a Politicalwire piece that shows what I mean:

A content analysis of 42 television advertisements over the last month from Democratic congressional candidates shows little mention of their own party. Less than one-quarter (10) of the ads mentioned the affiliation of the candidate, and eight of those were by candidates running in Democratic primaries.

This isn't limited to television ads, and it's not limited to refusals simply to mention party labels. For instance, as I have noted, presidential candidates like Sen. Evan Bayh (D) have given speeches regurgitating RNC talking points about Democrats and national security - a real tragedy especially at a time when Democrats have such a terrific opportunity to redefine the national security debate in this country. Similarly, in analyzing the new book coming out by DLC chief Bruce Reed and DLC Rep. Rahm Emanuel, Chris Bowers proves how these high-profile Democrats go out of their way to reinforce negative, right-wing stereotypes about their own party:

"In just a few paragraphs, Reed and Emanuel manage to reinforce virtually every anti-Democratic narrative in existence. We have no new ideas, we don't stand for anything, we are equally to blame for polarized politics, we have been taken over by the angry left, conservatism is the only good ideology, Democrats won't do any better, our predecessors expanded government too much, and maverick John McCain is the only hope for unifying this country. And so our national image as a party is completely destroyed."

Living out here in Montana has been refreshing for a number of reasons, one of which is that Democratic lawmakers are proud to be Democrats. For example, Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D) hasn't sat on the political capital that he's built up as one of the most popular governors in America - he's used it to help brand his party, traveling to all parts of the state building support for the Democratic agenda. He doesn't try to appease extremist Republican legislators - he goes after them. He doesn't engage in screw-your-own-party, Joe Lieberman-style bipartisanship - he muscles GOP legislators so as to get enough votes to pass Democratic legislation. Sure, Schweitzer ran with a Republican runningmate - but no one who has watched him and Democratic lawmakers like Jon Tester would claim with a straight face that Democrats in Montana have done anything other than proudly trumpet their party.

And that gets to the critical point: Schweitzer and Montana Democrats understand that politics is not just about individual candidates - it is about long-term movements that sustain over the years. Reinforcing a real definition behind the Democratic Party label (and one that is distinct from the GOP label) is an integral part of building that movement, because it allows others to run for office under a banner that evokes a positive meaning in voters mind.

The flip side is also true. "If you pretend like you aren't a Democrat or that your opponent is just a bad politician instead of a bad Republican politician, voters will think you are ashamed of who you are," writes Stoller. "It's not about being a proud Democrat, it's about not being a tool, and voters don't like tools." Put another way, when you try to take the Democratic Party out of the Democratic Party, you insult voters' intelligence, hurt the party's long-term prospects, and generally look like an idiot.

Hey DNC ,
we here in Maine have figured out the perfect sound bite to get us out of Iraq--- the perfect response to the republican rhetoric of 'cut and run.' Are you ready ?
STAY AND PAY.
Boom. Pay with our soldiers lives. Pay with our massive debt. Pay with an increasingly influential industrial/military complex weilding it over our elected government officials. Pay for our national insecurity as we create more hatred towards the united states. Stay and pay and pay and pay. Spread the word!
