Talent is a steadfast supporter of Donald Rumsfeld's failed battlefield initatives in Iraq that haven't worked for four years.

He buys into the argument that if we keep forces in Iraq for decades the Iraqis will finally stop fighting each other and reward us for our interference with flowers and candy.

He sees nothing wrong with redeploying the same troops over and over again and stretching the military so thin that they don't have the best equipment.

He thinks that its OK for Runsfeld to bully the generals into doing things that they know are not militarily sound.

Talent is a bad waste of good space in the Senate and is no military genius.
