"The Path to 9/11" - Truth Squad

Well the MSNBC version, at least.
STEWART: Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has has called the TV film defamatory to toward the Clinton Administration. You've seen it. Is it?
MITCHELL: It is? That would be a matter of opinion, of course. There is no question that the film spreads some blame around. There is also no question that it is heavily weighted against the Clinton Administration. One of the biggest problems is that there are, as they say, composite scenes. But there are really no composite characters. So you have Madeleine Albright, you have Sandy Berger, the Clinton advisor, who are there under their own name. Clearly identified. And they're clearly the one in the film who likely let Osama go. You have a real problem when you have actual real people who are getting fingers point at them, in which everyone would agree, is the crime of the century.
STEWART: Let's do a little bit of truth squadding, if we can. Since you've seen the movie. A few of the scene, one has former national security Sandy Berger refusing to give the go-ahead to take out Bin Laden. From your understanding, is this entirely accurate?
MITCHELL: No. It is entirely made up. Which is one of the problem.
The other thing, which actually just came out today, was that the screenwriter admitted on talk radio on the West Coast that this scene, while it was in the script, was partly improvised in the making of the movie. It ended quite dramatically with Sandy Berger slamming down the phone and cutting off all communication on making this decision to go after Osama. And it is great cinema.
Not only did it not happen. The screenwriter says it wasn't even in the script. And it was improvised on the spot. He liked the way it looked and it went over well when it was being filmed so they left it in.
It seem like an appalling thing to admit for a film on such a serious subject. Really on the most serious, most sensitive subject and mass murder.

And, don't forget: WRITE ABC!

I recommend that we threaten a boycott of ABC and Disney business concerns if they insist on airing the series with lies, twisting the truth to promote a political agenda. The events of 9/11 were tragic and the pain was shared by all in this country regardless of political leanings. The event should not be used to boost poll ratings for a failing administration.
Bill Clinton did order a missile strike against Al Qaida and who can argue today that it wasn't the right decision. Is there any relevance to why? What was the Republican party doing? Do they think that he shouldn't have attacked Al Qaida?
Remember, the most effective thing we did with Sinclair Broadcasting, was to write to Investor Relations and divert ourselves of any stock we had with their company. I watched that stock take a nose dive.
Do the Same with Disney! Write to George Mitchell, BOD, and tell him you are having your financial planner remove any Disney stocks from your portfolio.
The "open-minded, tolerant" left (lol) yet again exposes its true nature, as a mere made-for-tv movie reveals how flimsy the Clinton legacy really is.
Only one administration had several chances to capture or kill bin Laden, and blew off every opportunity. That is not an opinion, just an easily verified fact. The Clinton administration took the war on terror as seriously as...wait, there was no war on terror until the Clintons left the White House. Their entire foreign policy was to take no risks, anywhere, and they left almost all of the important issues for the next administration.
Argue all you want about how the Clinton's refusal to do anything serious about terrorism is portrayed in a made-for-tv movie. It won't change the salient fact that the Clintons refused to do anything serious about terrorism.
In his last position paper in December 2000, President Clinton wrote that America had "no overriding external threats abroad". Now he, and the Democratic party, and their herd of followers laughably want us to believe that Bill Clinton took seriously the very threat that did not exist according to...Bill Clinton.
And you people bought the whole sorry, pathetic act. Pitiful, but by no means a shock.
