50-State Strategy: Idaho Races Tied
Posted by on October 30, 2006 at 12:08 PM
The Idaho Statesman reports two major races in Idaho are in a statistical dead heat:
Republican and Democratic candidates in a few major Idaho political races are separated by just a few percentage points and virtually tied, according to a new statewide poll of 625 voters who said they were likely to cast a ballot Nov. 7.
U.S. Rep. C.L. "Butch" Otter, the GOP candidate for governor, is tied with Democrat Jerry Brady, according to the poll conducted Oct. 23-25 by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research of Washington, D.C., for KIVI-TV and the Idaho Statesman, which published it Sunday.
...
The 1st District congressional race on the west side of the state - for the seat Otter is vacating - also is tied, the survey found. Republican Bill Sali, an eight-term state legislator, was supported by 39 percent of those polled, compared to 37 percent for Democrat Larry Grant, a former Micron Technology Inc. executive.

LET ME TELL THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO IMPEACH TWO PRESIDENT’S, ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER
The Washington Post reports Vice President Cheney saying that election results (if the Democrats win the majority) will not influence U.S. policies in Iraq will hurt the Republican Party further. This will help swing voters and voters with the guts to vote the current Republican Party out of office in this one election to make up their minds.
How can the GOP both recently admit that things aren’t going well in Iraq and also aggressively state that policies in Iraq will not change no matter what (or which party) says in the Congressional majority?
It is a reminder that public opinion is totally ignored by the Bush/Cheney administration. Further pushing the Democrats ahead in the race for trying to represent public opinion when the Republican Representatives have failed to fight for public opinion in the Iraq war.
It is also a reminder that Vice President Cheney may be President Bush’s life insurance, impeachment insurance and legal insurance for illegal acts. But we can also impeach two president’s, one right after the other. If we win the election majority - GO FOR IT DEMOCRATIC PARTY - GO!
GET THOSE IRAQ WAR DICTATOR’S, WHO SAY THEY’RE FIGHTING FOR DEMOCRACY WHILE REPRESENTING THE UNITED STATES OUT OF THEIR!
BECAUSE ONE THING WORSE THAN REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATION IS NO REPRESENTATION!
Can you believe it ? ? ? ?
The race is tied in IDAHO ! !
The GOP Candidate for Congress is such a whiney, sniveling creep that even R's can't vote for him without holding their noses.

The Republicans' arrogance, and sense of privilege is starting to turn off even many of their densest supporters.
It's finally soaking in that these creeps are not out for the common good, and are bent on creating an imperial oligarchy that will leave all but the richest 10% out in the cold.
The tenor of this campaign with the Republicans' no-holds-barred lying (about just about everything), cheating (on campaign funding), and stealing (votes) is running so deeply against the grain of the American people, that except for a minority of ostriches who are neck deep in denial, the common people are turning on the party.
The only problem currently is the perception that "all politicians are alike" and the tendency for people to go with the "known devil" rather than bring in an unknown new guy who may or may not be worse.
The Democrats need to deep-six that impression and stand up for cleaning up Washington, starting with impeaching Bush and Cheney. I doubt if either of them will be standing after the impeachment process, which will likely expose a whole nest of corruption going down into the legislature.
If the Democrats gain control of the House, we could have the situation of a Democrat finishing out the term of a Republican president.
IMPEACH! IMPEACH! IMPEACH!
If you haven't caught it yet, look for Governor Dean's breakdown of the early exit polling and returns at the National Press Club on Wednesday the 8th. There's some really fascinating numbers in there, and a great Q&A at the end.
One third of the white evangelical vote. Dare I even imagine it?
