Memo to Those in Denial
Re: "Civil War"
The American Heritage Dictionary defines a civil war as:
civil war: n. 1. A war between factions or regions of the same country.
So, while the White House continues to live within a 'State of Denial' they have come to know and love, let it be known that their attempts at creative rhetoric aren't fooling anyone.
During Monday's Press Gaggle, Press Secretary Tony Snow, in response to the question, "Do you maintain it's still not a civil war?":
MR. SNOW: -- (inaudible) -- civil war? No, but you have not yet had a situation also where you have two clearly defined and opposing groups vying not only for power, but for territory. What you do have is sectarian violence that seems to be less aimed at gaining full control over an area than expressing differences, and also trying to destabilize a democracy -- which is different than a civil war, where two sides are clashing for territory and supremacy.
This is a new added qualification for Mr. Snow, who just last week, seemed to take a different view of what qualified as a civil war:
SNOW: At this point, you do have a lot of different forces that are trying to put pressure on the government and trying to undermine it. But it's not clear that they are operating as a unified force. You don't have a clearly identifiable leader. And so in this particular case, no.What you do have is a number of different groups -- you know, they've been described in some cases as rejectionists, in others as terrorists. In many cases, they are not groups that would naturally get along, either, but they severally and together pose a threat to the government.
The President, his Administration and anyone else who refuse to acknowledge the truth about the war in Iraq look ridiculous clinging to false rhetoric and spin.
Thankfully, not everyone is ignoring the reality.
WARE: Well, put it this way, this is the way I define it. It's that anyone who still remains in doubt about whether this is civil war or not is suffering from the luxury of distance.
Former Secretary of State, General Colin Powell:
Speaking with CNN reporter Hala Gorani in Dubai today, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Iraq’s violence meets the standard of a civil war and thinks President Bush needs to acknowledge that. According to Gorani’s report, Powell said if he were heading the State Department right now, he would recommend that the Bush administration adopt that language “in order to come to terms with the reality on the ground.
How long will it take the White House to come to terms? When will "The Decider" decide to stop sticking his head in the sand?

Please, someone give Snow a hat and a cane and let him tap dance around a Baghdad mosque in either a Sunni or Shiite neighborhood. Then let's see if he still thinks this isn't a civil war.
And if it's not, why isn't Bush meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister...in Iraq? The Iraqis are just "expressing differences" with AK47s and shutting down the road to the Baghdad airport for regularly scheduled repairs?
At least Frist isn't running for president in '08. His diagnosis of Terri Schivao was about as accurate as Tony Snows's accessment of Iraq.
after reading bob woodward's book "state of denial", i now understand why nothing gets accomplished in the bush regime.
time for our pres. to get his head out of his a--, and talk to,and more importantly, listen to some folks who actually have a brain.
time for bush and company to go....let him go fishin' or golfin' w/dad, and let someone else run the country.
This is typical repub garbage. They keep going after talking points and spend day after day arguing some stupid semantics that really don`t do anything to acknowedge any movement toward solution.Pure and simple stalling routine to keep the same thing happening.
This is a GREAT POST!!
So I was wondering doesn't secretarian violence mean fighting between factions or regions of the same country.
How did we end up with bush as our President?
Ah, yes appointment.
Here is a rule of thumb for the Bush administration: If there is sand in your boots and your feet are wet, you may be standing in a RIVER of Denial!
(see also Egypt - Rivers)
So the standard is 1000 deaths(see below). How long does it take to be a citizen in Iraq? Our Soldiers may be able to be classified as being Iraqis since their deployments have been continuous
A definition according to WIKI(pedia):
"A civil war is a war in which parties within the same culture, society or nationality fight for political power or control of an area. Political scientists use two criteria: the warring groups must be from the same country and fighting for control of the political center, control over a separatist state or to force a major change in policy. The second criterion is that at least 1,000 people must have been killed in total, with at least 100 from each side.[1]"
We ,in the Blogosphere, have been calling this a Civil War for a while now.
Must we always be the ones who lead the way (sigh)
LOL
If we "stay the course", there will be a draft.Posted by pee-wee on November 29, 2006 at 06:26 PM
....and if there's a draft, their will be a mass NO SHOW because their will be a mass migration of young Americans to Canada and Mexico!
a mass migration of young Americans to Canada and Mexico!
But what about the fence?? LOL
President Bush expresses strong support for Iraq's embattled government and says the U.S. will remain there "to get the job done so long as the government wants us there."
I am just curious, which government is bush talking about.
The simplest definition is: "when people in a country stop voting and start shooting at each other, it's a civil war". Iraq passed that benchmark over a year ago. Funny, thing, BushCo can't even look as far back as our own civil war and they called it what it was right away back then. Then again, Bush's ancestors made money off of both sides by running arms, just like Poppy got caught running arms (Iran-Contra, anyone?) and grampa Prescott made money from (and gave a huge amount of money to) Hitler.
It's a family pattern with the Bushes and the Pierces, the way the run arms and drugs, start wars for profit, then buy their way out of justice. Barbar's family made a huge amount of money from the trade of opium... a few minutes' googling will detail the whole sordid history of profit from criminal activity. It's not as if they've ever denied it, either.
As President Clinton said, there's no conspiracy. They're right out in the open with it. Any other American who acts the way the Bush Crime Family does would be jailed and the key thrown away. Yet, time after time, generation after generation, they have brought shame, destruction and debt onto the American people.
How long are the American people going to allow generation after generation of a known-criminal family to persist in their activities? Each and every time, they buy their way out of trouble and continue their criminal enterprises anyway.
It's disgusting. It needs to stop once and for all, for all eternity.
The simple answer to when "The Decider" stops sticking his head in the sand is: Never! Has W ever admitted he made a mistake? He did admit he lied to the press about Rummy staying on, but that was because it was convenient to him to lie, so it's OK!
Look, I grew up in a moderate to liberal Democratic household in Texas. My mama always told me oil men never do anything unless they're going to make a buck off of it. Anything they do is morally right as long as it is profitable. Halliburton's still making billions, and Bush/Cheney Inc. won't pull out of Iraq so long as that is true and they're in power. Lie, cheat, steal, send thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Arabs to their deaths, that's OK so long as the bidness is makin' money.
Like W likes to say: It's simple!
So, you say that dummy George Bush is still in denial. Well, DUH. George bush has always been in another dimension right along with all the people that voted for him. This is the part that is scary that people and Dummy George Bush still think things are going great in Iraq. I wish I could bottle what they are taking. I would make a million dollars.
It appears to be inspired by someone who wanted to be the Swami Donald Walters 14 Steps to Perfect Joy course. Things like, How to make curds from milk. The political people in washington, don't often go to their house and kitchen and get a pint of milk and make curds. I did. They then ring up, after local news reports of Joy being shot dead in Mitcham and ask on the phone, Is Joy there? I don't see it as a civil war. I see it as a means to rope in a person, who they feel is studying religions they have no reality on. It seems soviet inspired, but then I thought Reagan and all republicans were Soviet inspired at one time, all being fellow democrats, I mean, fellow republicans. I'm sorry. I am stalked to death. Good luck, don't help this fallen comrade on the battle field, just let me die of my wounds. etc hopeless.
We're suppose to pull out of the civil war in Iraq and intervene in the civil wars in Africa. Got it.
Now I see why Rangel and Hollings have introduced bills for a draft.
This president, will stay the fool course, and kill, more soldiers, and murder more innocent Iraqy men women and children, he doesn't give one damm bit about all the people this bastard has killed, he is a Ego-maniac, crazy, fool, and all he cares about is his ego, and get revenge.
Democrats are a fool if they think this half-brain idiot, will go along with them. His intent is to make the Democrats, look as bad as he can, so his Fascist pigs, can gain power again in 2008!
He and his Fascist pig Public-cans, will "Sandbag" everything the Democrats do, including the investigations of fraud, lying and imbessalement.
How can you trust Libermen, he will probably jump parties in Jan. I wouldn't doubt that Adolf Rove is working on this now. So the Fascist pig Publi-cans can take control of the senate, to block investigations. Dr. Karl Goebbels Rove, is still running the ship, for this little "Tinhorn",Fascist Pig Dictator.
We have lived 6 years of HELL, with this Bastard, Dictator, and we still have over two years of half-Hell left!
When are we going to impeach this corrupt idiot and his minions, and get this mess straightened out. There has been enough murder for oil money. Let's introduce Bush to the banks of the Missouri River, where it flows past Leavenworth Kansas!!!
IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY!!!
Hopefully the Congress is going to be smart enough to double impeach Bush and Cheney. Nancy Pallosy said we've got to move on but at the same time she said something like "impeachment is off the table". What moving on are we actually talking about if we are not planning on doing anything specific like impeachment of president and vice president?
The neo cons have been violating power and authority to do to this country and the people whatever they wanted and now Pallosy is telling us to back off and move on? When president Clinton made a mistake, the neo cons tried to "eat his soul", and of course, impeach him right away, involving the law, congressional commissions, ultraconservative judges, al sorts of "ken starrs" and relegious extremists. But because WE THE PEOPLE said: "President Clinton is our president and we are not going to let a couple of exremists do any single thing to him", president Clinton did stay in office.
You can see that the situation was totally different at the time. People voted and made it clear that they wanted Clinton and his policy in office, so the neo cons had to back off at the time.
Now this time, WE THE PEOPLE of the United States voted, and made it clear that we don't want Bush and Cheney in office for their instant lying and unbelievble violating the Constitution and the law. What was the response of the newly elected Congress? There was none. Oh,i'm sorry, there actually was one and if i remember right it was something like "it's off the table".
We have learned in these last six years that the people don't mean anything. It appears now that it still remains the same. Way to go Mrs. Pallosy, way to go!!!

I wonder sometimes how many Americans are really represented by the GOP given the fact of so much election fraud? So many districts in the country have such large gaps between the exit polls and the reported votes, that one can not trust that the GOP represented a majority in past elections.
Now, the gap has gotten so wide between the GOP and the people, that all the vote rigging that the GOP could do, was not enough to keep their "majority"!
NO MATTER WHAT PELOSY AND HER FRIENDS SAY WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES WANT BUSH AND TO BE IMPEACHED!!!! BUSH MUST BE THRUST DOWN TO HELL FOR HIS ETERNAL NEVERENDING CRIMES AND VIOLATIONS. THE ONLY WAY FOR US NOW IS TO GET RID OF BUSH.HE IS THE ONLY THREAT TO OUR LIBERTYS AND FREEDOMS.HE MUST BE BROKEN DOWN TO RISE NO MORE!!!! IMPEACH THAT MORON,SHOW SOME GUTS!!!! by WE THE PEOPLE

THAT'S FOR SURE. SHE CAN WRITE THAT DOWN.
mr.
mr. president,
acknowledge the civil war in iraq now!
president,
Everyone knows that the money kicked back and conributed to the Republican party comes from big business Crops. for favorable political protection. The longer the war goes on, the more money the party receives in kick backs from military equipment manufacturers of all sorts. It a big business for the Republican party. It's extremely sad to say that men and women are losing their lives over there for nothing. Also there is hundreds of billions of barrels of oil in Iraq that are untapped and Bush and Cheney are pushing hard to get their big U S oil cronies in there to start drilling and get their fair share for greater kick backs to the Republican party. Halliburton is already over there unchallenged and socking it to us in every way possible.
Western Iraq contains the sweetest, lightest oil in the world and is very shallow in the ground. The cost of getting this oil pumping out of the ground is less than $1.50 per barrel professional estimators say. Bush and Cheney want to get their big U S oil cronies in there first to beat out Royal Dutch Shell and BP who are pushing to get into this. That's why the White House pulled us out of Afghanistan because there's no oil there. It's all in Iraq. This my friends is what Iraq is all about to the Republican Party.
The Bush-Webb banter is stirring a lot of talk in Wash DC., most of it from the "ain't my kid going to Iraq" disconnected types. Webb had to be at the occasion as representative-elect of the State of Virginia. But for Bush to ask him about his son serving in Iraq in such a casual fashion, Bush showed BOTH the disconnect syndrome that characterized his entire Iraq policy and his "flashing" at Webb as if to say: "You won the Senate but I rule your son!" At that point, Webb did what any of us claiming to be Americans should have done. In effect Webb said: those are OUR sons over there and if you don't care about what they're going through and are more concerned about looking like a loser by pulling them out, then it's none on your business, Mr. President, because if you cared, you could know more in a minute than I can as his father in a month.
WE are THE PARENTS of ALL OUR CHILDREN who are soldiers in harm's way. And if you allow anything to be done to OUR children that you would not allow to be done to your biological children, then you are a typical right wing Republican scumbag, just like those drop-shaped chicken-hawk tubbies at the 2004 Republican Convention that wore purple band-aids without realizing that they were demeaning more the honored Purple Heart medal than Senator Kerry.
As a one time high up Conservative youth movement participant, I had a chance to see the Rumsfeld, Bush, Cheney-type right-winger leaders growing up. Most have rubber spines, elastic morals and are all predators with insatiable appetite for human meat. But they go through life with only baby teeth. If they again take over the government in 2008 it can only be because the Democratic leadership is a bunch of total turds.
So I look forward to the retirement of all Rove-wanna-be Democrat who don't have the intestinal fortitude to say to President Bush when face-to face with him: MR PRESIDENT, BY FOLLOWING YOUR GUT ALL THE WAY, YOU ARE ONLY DROWNING AMERICA IN BUSHIT!
Bravo Senator-elect Webb...If there had been more like you in the Democrat side when I came to America I would never have spent years on the Right!

I calculate the day after never!I don`t think he is ready for daddy to take all his toys away and put him in the corner.I`m really not surprised since senior has always covered over all his messes in life from the beginning. My question from this is to the people in this country ."How in the world could you possibly think that this idiot could be Commander-&-Chief of this country? What a terrible price we are paying all because you think you could sit down and have a beer with him. This is a position you want real leaders who can think on their feet not rich kids who`ve been bailed out of things their whole life!?We let the media frame these questions, and really don`t think for ourselves. Plenty of books were available on w and his history.
Impeachment. Right, fresh after taking a majority both chambers with way too much that really needs to get done, lets lose all focus and just p*ss away the next 2 years (and alienate potential votes for Democrats in 08) by flogging the impeachment show.
I'd much prefer the Democrats in Congress start taking on the important issues that will usefully affect the quality of life and well being of the citizenry.
-jmr
Impeachment, alienate votes for 2008????
An impeachment is an investigation into whether or not high ranking officials have committed high crimes and misdemeanors. Judging from just what has leaked out of the Bush White House, I'd say that not only will we take out the Prez and the VP, you will have practically NOBODY voting Republican for at least a couple of decades.
Let's make the Federal Correctional Facility at Leavenworth Kansas the NEW West Wing of the White House!!!
On further reflection, I think that I need to clarify why I think that impeachment is a good idea.
The bottom line is that Bush and Associates have lied so much and so many times, that we can't really start to clean up the mess until we know more of the facts, which any cognizant follower of Republican rhetorics will admit are in extremely short supply.
The Bushies aren't admitting any kind of defeat, with their phony "bipartisanism" which seems to be embodied in an "OK, so you're Democrats, vote my way and I'll overlook it" attitude.
The only way to come up with viable plans and priorities for cleaning up the current mess must include gathering as much TRUTHFUL information as possible.
Given the stone-walling, persiflage, and downright obvious lies coming from the administration, impeachment is the ONLY way to come up with enough truth to start fixing our government, our economy, our standing in the international community, and dealing with Iraq which the Bush administration has so totally FUBARed.
Impeachment is the first step to repair and reform.
MEMBERS OF CONGRESS!!!
The time has come for you to start the procedure of impeachment for president Bush. You need to show some guts and be ready to act. Remember what's at stake? The future of this nations is at stake.
The Bush administration in these past six years has violated the constitution so many times that you can actually say now that the constitution is peacefully destroyed. Bush lied to the Congress, lied to the people, lied to the World.
The 9/11 was a good reason for them to start the war, not on terror like others may think, but the war on the People of the United States. They started with passing different not constitutional laws like the "Patriot Act", according to which each and every american is an islamic terrorist, and they ended up creating top-secret fascistic prisons all over the world. They started the war in Iraq that they had been planning on, long before the 9/11 happened. They wanted Iraq's oil (not for America of course but for the guys from Halliburton and Enron)and they whould get it whatsoever. They just needed a possible reason to start the war, and when a terrible thing happened on the 9th of september of 2001,they were the only happy people in this country, knowing what they asked for had just happened. Than they said to themelves: "That's our chance, go for it!"
Later, when the "9/11 investigation" started, they tryed to make everyone "shut the hell up" to keep their "little secret" safe and if you whouldn't, you'd be considered a terrorist(that's what the Patriot Act's for) and put in prison somewhere in Guantanoma. Bush and his fellows REFUSED TO TESTIFY to the commission and reveal the top-secret 9/11 files telling everyone "that's what the enemy wants". It was very skillfully and ugly what they have done, but they've done it really well.
The republican Congress whouldn't care. Now it's time for the Democratic Congress restart the investigation and impeach that international terrorist that claims to be the leader of the free world. Congressional commissions MUST care and hopefully they WILL. Now show some guts and remember that WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES support you and your possitive efforts. May the Lord bless you and us in getting the Anti-Christ out of the White House. That's what the republic's for!
Proud to be an American!!!!
I guess, on the surface, it seems a clever trick to have Hakim (the head of the Iran controlled Iraqi Shiia SCIRI Party) come to Wash DC to speak directly with Bush as a "top Shiite leader," as in fact, he comes as a stand-in for the Iranians. SCIRI is a Tehran production while Sadr's Shiite faction is a totally Iraqi nationalist Shia production. The competition between the two goes back to when the argument started whether Iraq or Iran is the center of the Shia faith. Khomeini spent many a sleepless night worrying about that after his takeover of Iran, following his prolonged past exile among Iraqi Shiites. In fact, a great PhD thesis topic would be Iran-Iraq Shia relations and their role in the Tehran-Baghdad ties after Gulf War I more than a decade ago. We would then find that some Shia in Iraq were quite instrumental in getting Saddam's WMD projects moved to Iran on the principal: "my enemy's enemy is my friend."
On the other hand, one cannot expect that Iran does not appreciate the analogy of the situation of Americans on the North-South Korean border, making US attack of Pyongyang's nuclear installations impossible because North Korea's border artillery could massacre the American soldiers on that border before we could do anything about it (these big guns would also pulverize Seoul). With some 160,000 US troops in the area near Baghdad, within the next few months, we face the same problem in Iraq as in Korea, should Bush be also thinking of going after Iranian nuclear installations sometime soon. Iran's missiles have already proven themselves on a small scale in war exercises and in Lebanon last summer.
So, as the Baker-Hamilton Commission insists, Bush must talk with the Iranians in order to get their help so we can get out of Iraq. Since Bush put forward a condition to US-Iran ties: end your nuclear project, direct talks now would be a sign of desperation. And so, Bush might be thinking, why not kill two birds with one stone: 1) meet with Hakim as a joint Iran-Iraq Shia negotiator while 2) snubbing Sadr and obtaining SCIRI secret accord to go after Sadr's militias.
All this suggests to me that the Gates Senate Confirmation Hearings for the Secretary of Defense post could not come at a less opportune time. The reason is that the last time the US secretly dealt with Iran through intermediaries, it was to circumvent US Congressional and State Dept. restrictions on dealing with terror states and paying for hostages. As Oli North said before the Iran-Contra Hearings back then: "I'd have offered the Iranians a free trip to Disneyland if we could have gotten Americans home for it." Can such an attitude be an acceptable switch-point in current American policy-- anything to get the boys home-- when they are the hostages in Iraq that make bombing Iran's nuclear installations impossible?
Back when the Iran-Contra scheme was operative, all the Iranians got for their trouble, as they see it, is that America unleashed a fully resupplied with chemical weapons (precursors made in USA) Saddam Hussein coming back at them. Now, if they allow the US to withdraw from Iraq, all they think that they may get is a massive Israeli air strike at their nuclear installations.
In the meantime, Hakim returns to Iraq as the man who negotiated the American withdrawal, and he gains from that at the expense of Iraqi nationalist Sadr, making Iraq an Iranian vassal. As Iraqi Shiites switch to the inevitable winner, Hakim, how much can we expect from the Iranians, given their ace in a hole, our troops in Iraq?
It is conceivable, at the very least, that the timing of the Hakim visit, relative to the Gates Hearings, will reopen the issue of Bush-41's and Gates' involvement in Iran-Contra. With what we know now about it, I can only see a widening gash opening that will make the Fall election results only the lesser of a one-two punch to the Republicans from the Democrats-- and quite legitimately so. And Bush would have it coming to him, given the inter-relationships discussed above. When you put Hakim in Wash DC and Gates before the Senate in the same month, you cannot expect much Christmas Spirit to manifest on the part of the Democrats. Too many of the Senators then are the Senators now!
Worst still, any deal made with Hakim as the dual representative of Iraq and Iran would be as Keystone Cops as was the Iran-Contra Affair. In the end it only puts Tehran on a pedestal that Israel will insist that its air force must knock the Iranians off of.
A better deal is postponement of the Iranian nuclear issue with the stern warning that the issue must be reopened lest Iran become a WMD target issue as Iraq had been but now with better intelligence. And then, in return for a Hakim-Sadr coalition for ending the militias, the US will give a date certain for its total removal of forces from Iraq. As for Iran, the time has come for full diplomatic relations with Tehran, much as we have with Beijing, despite our fears of its strategic scheming with far more dangerous nuclear arms.

I agree. We the People have to start acting now and finally do something. It's up to us what kinda future we are gonna have. Impeachment for Bush is the only way. He must go and the sooner it happens the better for everyone. OUR FUTURE IS UP TO US! Impeach that right wing terroristic extremist that claims to be the "leader" of the free world. Do it now and remember this, Bush is no president,he is an international terrorist.
May the Lord bless you all in your possitive efforts!

Thank You
From your definition of a civil war, then Iraq is not one. Since the fighters coming from Iran and Syria are not from a region of Iraq, and I doubt any of you would argue that the United States is from a region of Iraq. You wish so badly for this for Iraq to be like Vietnam that you, the media, and your spineless leaders in the DNC and Democrat Party are creating a self fulfilling prophecy. It is you who are deluding the American People in an effort to deny us the victory which we can achieve, and are arming the terrorists in their efforts to wage a psychological war in the media. Good going gutless. Now read the rest and learn something.
Senator Dodd-Biden-Clinton-Obama-et. al.,
I heard your recent words concerning Iraq and our Commander in Chief. They troubled me greatly to say the least. I still have a hard time believing that any person who rises to your level of political prominence could be so desirous for our Nation’s defeat in battle. Please don’t treat this war on terror as you baby-boomers did during our Nation’s gallant efforts in Vietnam. It was politicians like you who caused our national defenses to drop to the point that 911 was able to happen.
Remember when Sudan wanted to hand over Osama Bin Laden to President Clinton, but he was too busy lying under oath about his pertinent sexual encounters with his underlings while he was on trial for a sexual harassment law suit. Every officer of any court in this country knows or should know that doing so is a felonious high crime. Recall too that in 1997 the Democratic Party trumpeted the need for deposing Sadam Hussein in the Iraqi Liberation Act which used much of the same information and evidence our current President Bush presented before actually taking actions to free that nation.
You and the other Democrats talk a great game, but when the going get tough you run and cower. Even if you specifically weren’t in power at the time, your party supported the Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) in the war on terror which took us into Iraq. You now want to cut and run. The same act helped to over ride the constraints within FISA so we can listen in on terrorist communications, but once the press got wind that we might hear them interviewing their terrorist affiliated buddies they cried wolf, and you ducked and covered you own posterior. How was Reuters able to communicate with Mullah Omar through e-mail? Don’t you think it would be a good thing for us to be able to hear a conversation, or read an e-mail between a terrorist and his or her contacts in the United States, or elsewhere?
You Democrats also supported the amendments within the PATRIOT ACT which allow our law enforcement and intelligence agencies to use the same weapons on terrorists that they used for years countering organized crime and espionage; however, once the ACLU wing of your party cried foul you took out your shovels and started undermining it too. The Democrats voted for many of the weapons we need to win the war on terror, but just as John Kerry said during his failed 2004 presidential campaign, your party is voting for things before you don’t vote them. Let’s just call it what it is-you back stab them and us. Sending our valiant men and women into in Iraq, and then pulling the rug out from under their efforts is only par for the course for the Democrats.
I realize that you liberal politicians believe the American people want peace, and we do, but we want it through victory. We don’t want peace by first supporting, then (to borrow a term from Senator Biden) isolating our commander in chief and armed forces. You are doing this by denying them the political support they deserve. The only people who want us to fail in Iraq are the socialist elites in your party, and those like you who want our nation weakened. Are you doing this just so it will be easier for you to become president one day? Are you truly so ambitious and power hungry? Is this why you are actively fighting against our people in Iraq?
You and those like you say you support the troops, but you wish to support the by “bringing them home”. You can’t have it both ways. As a former Marine (who longs to return to aid his brethren), college graduate, and current law student I understand that to “support the troops” means to support their efforts to WIN! Yet you and your party, after voting us into battle, have undercut our National efforts at every turn. You and the media allow yourselves to be used by the terrorists as a psychological weapon against us!
You will never earn my vote by acting the way you are at this moment, and I will work my hardest to make sure the Democrats are seen for what they truly are. The only person in your party acting as a true American politician should during a time of war is Joe Lieberman. I and my wife were once independent voters, but the actions of you and those like you in your party are making sure we will never vote Democrat ever again.
Sincerely,
Seeking Truth
P.S.
I am sending this letter to every senator and congressperson so that they may understand that there are many voters who pay attention to current and past events, and vote. To all of you-please don’t let the media, and opinion polls lose this war. Our nation has paid too much to let that happen. Support our men and women fighting this war on terror, and their Commander in Chief-even if that means you won’t become president in 2008.
Seeking: this is a good place for your post. You are a prime example of denial. You are standing in "de Nile" so deep you are in over your head.
As a former middle-of-the-road independent voter, I can tell you that finding out the truth does not a Republican make. The Bush regime is the reason I became a straight-ticket democrat. But then I saw the start of this war at a different level than you apparently did.
Screw your lid back on your jar-head and go back to the Marines, you are wasting your talents in any job that requires you to think!
