Senate Passes Minimum Wage: After the Minimum Wage bill was delayed in the Senate when Republicans refused to vote to increase the minimum wage without tax cuts, many were understandably frustrated. Finally, on Thursday, the minimum wage bill passed in the Senate. This is the first time the minimum wage has been raised in a decade. The final vote showed a landslide of support for working families -- 94-3. A straight minimum wage bill passed the House last month, so a conference committee will have to reconcile the two different bills before the increase can be signed into law.
