DNC Winter Meeting: General Session (Continued...)
Posted by on February 3, 2007 at 10:28 AM
So the last day of the DNC Winter Meeting has arrived. It's gone by in a flash. Watching all of our potential nominees come through and speak to the DNC has been an amazing thing. It's been chaotic, but in a good way, and we'll wrap up early today.
Today Senator Joe Biden, Governor Richardon, Senator Gravel and Governor Vilsack will speak and meet with their fellow Democrats. We'll wrap things up by mid-afternoon.
Keep checking out the slideshow to see new photos. You can also catch yesterday's speeches in the video section. We'll have extra video goodies soon...

Governor Bill Richardson, as he is in New Mexico, has proved to be a veritable cannonball of action and a desperately needed breath of fresh air at the Dem's Winter Meet. Let's be done with all the old news: Hill had her chance and is now trying to salvage her credibility on the basis of being the tough bitch, while Richardson has actually delivered the goods, both domestically and globally. Obama is inspiring, but not battle ready. Kucinich is a utopian dream, but unelectable. Edwards, as well, caved in under the Bush mafia in 2004, and took his orders from sold out Kerry. Let's get behind Bill Richardson: He's the diplomatic electable man of action we need now!

Tracy,
Thanks for the updates and especially the slideshow and video of the speeches. It's been pretty much hit or miss for those of us who have to work weird hours and depend on the MSM for news of the meeting.
Go Richardson! Rah! Rah! Rah!
Hillary is Republi-lite and only too willing to sell our jobs overseas by supporting "free" trade agreements with no provisions to help either Americans or the workers and the environment where our jobs are going.
I can see NO Beltway ivory-tower politician who is suitable to lead this country into the era of rebuilding our economy, our democracy, and our credibility.
We need a realistic leader who will listen to the American people and help us and NOT the rich robber barons of business and their K-street minions with their false economic criteria.
nmnydem,
I think restoring dipolmacy to our foreign policy is going to be the big challenge for the next president. Someone asked today on the open thread about where has our State Department gone. Pretty sad...and to think some think Condi Rice should run for president.
Richardson's going to Holly Wood.
:)
The Treaty of Tripoli, initiated by George Washington during his presidency and later signed into law by John Adams on May 26, 1797, during his presidency, was/is "a treaty of perpetual peace and friendship between the United States of America and the Bey and subjects of Tripoli, of Barbary":
ARTICLE 11.
As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion, as it has in itself no character of entity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen, and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
