Governor Dean: Gonzales and Rove Must Go!

Posted by on March 13, 2007 at 03:26 PM

Governor Dean:

"The best way for Attorney General Gonzales to accept responsibility is for him to step down," said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "The Bush White House has consistently put protecting the President and doing his bidding ahead of upholding the integrity of our nation's laws. Karl Rove should pack his bags and go too. His type of leadership doesn't belong at the White House. America deserves better."

They are finally getting you fired up-aren't they? Are you going to SCREAM AGAIN? I hope so!

Even Lou Dobbs hate Gonzales for backing his federal prosecutor who gave immunity to the illegal drug pusher over the border patrol officers. I imagine that some Repubicans will bring that up at the coming hearings.

As he freely admitted today, Gonzales has made a lot of mistakes. He's also has made some big enemies in both parties.

He just don't want any Attorney General walking all over the Constitution and Bill of Rights he swore to protect. It's time for him to go or at least light a fire under him and watch him sweat till January 2009....seems like he hopped right onto the grill today.

Please....Please...Please wipe that cocky grin off his face. He`s a pathetic Attorney General who uses his position in justice to do injustices! As far as Rove goes he will be nothing more to me than a traitor to his country. As a veteran I`m appalled to see what these people have done considering the sacrifices our military has made!Shameful,if they only had the conscience to feel shame?

The abuse of the Patriot Act by Gonzalez and Bush is a breach of the public trust, and a violation of interpretive legal principles, of statute and our Constitution, that include abuse of process.

These are high crimes, and it must be addressed as a violation of the highest principles of public trust by our highest office holders, the President and our country's attorney, whose duties are to enforce the laws and uphold the Constitution.

This a breach of the US Constitution, a denial of equal protection by the majority party against the minority party. In the Corporate setting this is similar to the California corporate case of Ahmanson, that setled this duty under case law. No law is allowed to violate the Constitution, or be applied in a way that violates the Constitution.

"Gonzales and Rove must go!"
About time. Getting rid of Gonzales and Rove would be a good start, but they shouldn't stop there.
The Bushiato is only too willing to sacrifice some of its lesser players in order to keep their operations intact.
The investigations need to go much, much deeper.
Congress needs to look past the few sacrificial lambs that the Bush Republicans keep handing them, and get to the source of the corruption.
We need to push them into doing their jobs!
INVESTIGATE!!! IMPEACH!!!! INDICT!!!!!

A lot of us were very worried about this Patriot Act from the get go... and our fears have been realized. I agree with the above posts that Attorney General Gonzales is only one of those who must go. We need to get on the ball and get some more investigation going so that we can impeach President Bush and Vice-President Cheney. It is obvious that their arrogance is well beyond the usual pale. President Bush keeps saying "the buck stops here", but unlike President Truman, those are just empty words. He takes NO responsibility ever. I want a real push for investigations and a surge for impeachment.

And, one other comment. Very important, I believe!!! All the right-wingers, talk show hosts and Fox News commentators keep on parroting the party line that President Bush has the right to fire all those AAG's and that President Clinton did it first.. they keep on with their name-calling, especially calling Democratic Party members non-patriots and labelling all of us with not supporting our troops. I want the Democratic Party and our candidates to keep on pushing those words back down their throats!!!! I am tired of being insulted, especially from the likes of them.
