McCain Lashes Out -- At McCain

Posted by Michael Link on March 28, 2007 at 04:23 PM

Several hours ago, John McCain held a conference call with conservative bloggers. The conservative American Spectator quotes McCain:

I continually hear people in the administration, and even in the military, say 'three months, six months, well, maybe six months…It took us four years to get into this state we're in, and here we are after two months expecting miracles."

Who would dare do such a thing? From the NY Times, four and a half months ago:

Mr. McCain said that the fate of the Iraqi venture would be decided in the next six months or so [...]

And over a year ago:

And I'd also suggest--and again, I'll probably--I'm not in any way concerned about saying this--that we will probably see significant progress in the next six months to a year.

Finally, John McCain takes on the statements... of John McCain. His credibility continues to sink. Has it hit rock bottom yet?

Nancy Pelosi kicked butt today. You go girl!

"On this very important matter, I would extend a hand of friendship to the president, just to say to him, 'Calm down, take a breath," she said. "There's new Congress in town. We accept your constitutional role. We want you to accept ours."

"This war must end. The American people have lost faith in the president's conduct of the war. Let's see how we can work together," added Pelosi, D-Calif.

speaking of mccain, his campaign folks plagiarized the code and images of a guy on myspace who got back at him by posting an entry saying that mccain favored gay marriage. The "plagiarizee" explains why here.

John Mc Cain is a Flip Flopping Fool. I hope he gets the nod because he will be so easy to crush.

Keep up the good work. This is great.

While McCain flip flops for the right words, he said that the Democrats are rushing out of Iraq and it is irresponsible. I don’t think that having a deadline on the war means surrendering to terrorism or not supporting our troops. What is with all the wordplay by republicans? With what is actually happening in Iraq, having a plan would do some good for Iraq and the US foreign policy. If we want to stop terrorism, stop it by aiding the fight against poverty and inequality, not creating wars with countries. Maybe this way, the Bush administration will finally support the Millenium Development Goals to end poverty, to which they promised support years ago!

The Borgen Project website states that we have spent $340 billion on the Iraq war. With just a tiny fraction of that money, we can end starvation and really have a plan against terrorism.
