Wyoming Dems Want Your Input on 2008 Delegate Selection Plan

Posted by on March 26, 2007 at 03:46 PM

This is pretty cool. The Wyoming Democratic Party put the draft of their 2008 Delegate Selection Plan up on their website and is inviting public comment on it.

Bill Luckett, Communications Director for the Wyoming Democratic Party:

"Soliciting public comments on the draft of our delegate selection plan is an important step in finalizing the plan for the Democratic National Convention in Denver next year. Because the convention is being held so close to Wyoming, we expect an unprecedented level of interest in how we will choose our delegates."

If you are a Wyoming Dem, definitely check out the Party's site and the plan. If you aren't, be on the look out for your state's plan!

Well, I WAS a Republican, but, King George changed me on that.. There is so much control and corruption and abbrogation of our Constitutional rights , I will most likely never vote Republican for any race,, However, I absolutely, positively, as many "converts" here in Texas that I've talked with, will NOT support Hillary Clinton.. If the Democratic Party, once again, "shoots itself in the foot" and nominates another egocentric baggage carrier that is just another opportunity to turn the presidency into a monarchy.. handed down from father to son... husband to wife..etc.. then I will go independant.. I hope the Democrats out there will send her packing and support a viable candidate with a lot less corruption/scandal/baggage.. and then I think the Democrats can win the White House.. Just not with Hillary

Hillary is just to Republi-lite to win. If she won we'd see more "free" trade agreements shipping our jobs overseas while we continue to be flooded with economic refugees coming here because they are starving at home.
We need a populist candidate who supports the true center of the party and the American Voters, and not some phony "centrist"who will continue to sell the American People out to K-street.
Republi-lite "centrists" and Blue Dog Republicans need not apply.

I'm dissapointed in Mike Gierau for receiving his 3rd DUI this past week. What do you intend to do about this by way of comment?

Wyoming Democrats, like Democrats in all states with large rural populations need to learn to talk to the farmers and ranchers about issues concerning them.
Address government caused problems like the "Farm" bills that make the mega corporations richer while shutting out the family farmer/rancher.
In Wyoming and Eastern Montana, issues of importance include; mineral rights vs rancher's rights, methane water salting the land, help in setting up wind/solar power alternatives to help cut rising energy costs.
Rural areas have a wide variety of issues which vary from region to region and include; cow-calf operations, wheat farmers, in the west, corn-soybean operations and hog farms in the midwest, feed-lots in Kansas, hay farmers, rice growers, truck farmers, potato growers, poultry farmers, and orchidists in other areas among others.
There is no one-size-fits-all campaign that fits everyone.
The biggest danger in campaigning in rural areas is listening to the megalithic agribusinesses which have done so much to fund campaigns, dictate farm legislation, and drive the family farmers/ranchers out of business.
These guys are business people as well as farmers/ranchers. They've been through the school of hard knocks and have learned a lot. Speak to the family farmers/ranchers in your area, and address their concerns. Ask them what they need, and listen to them.
