I love seeing the results. It reminds us all that when we take five minuets to fill out a petition or add our name to a cause, it actually has an impact. Tens of Thousands of people took out the time in just a matter of a few days. The Democratic Party is making sure our voices are heard. So, when you get the e-mail or a form in the mail........

I notice your FOI request only mentions emails...we all know Karl Rove is a huge Blackberry junkie, and obviously his emails are part of the subpeona/FOI process, but has anyone paid any attention to the PIN messages that he most certainly uses his Blackberry for?

PIN (Personal Identification Number) messages are those that can be sent directly from one Backberry device to another (ie - there is no email trail as the messages never go through one's inbox, only from one decive to another).

PIN's are usually not backed up on the user's computer (or network) the same way emails are, BUT, RIM (the maker of Blackberry) does keep records of all PIN messages in its central offices (which I believe are in Waterloo, ON, Canada), so they do exist.

This issue has been of some interest in Canada as government officials often use PINs to communicate on sensitive files, knowing that due to a loophole in our own version of the FOI Act, the messages are exempt from public access.

Might be a good time to ask for Mr. Rove's PIN records.

1) The attorney general(AG)'s chief of staff, like always, has been made the fall guy. As far as I've heard, seems like the emails originate mainly from the chief of staff...but of course how could the AG have no part to play behind these decisions(usually that's what they claim) just because there is no email trail....he could've just been careful not to leave one, don't you think?

2) Democrats need to use the same strategy that republicans have used...get people's attention by elevating the issue and making statements that are beside the point....in small doses this could be good, coz we know it works for the other side!

Example: in addition to saying: we need to get to the bottom of this and it's not possible without getting them to testify on oath...also say: "What have they got to hide? or what is the president afraid of if nothing improper was done?"...coz these are images that will stick with the public better.

I don't follow politics too closely, but from the few reports I read in the press, this is my two penny's worth.

It's very to the point and was the first thing I thought when I heard Dubya on the radio this morning.
He was all fuss and feathers and ruffled up like an old hen when you take the eggs out of her nest, and when a president does that, you know he's trying to protect something that he doesn't want the voters to know about.
Maybe we need to all put up yard signs saying "What's Bush got to hide???" We can put our Congressmen's addresses on them too, and get people to write in and ask that question of our legislators.
