After firing two senior campaign aides in charge of courting evangelical Christians earlier this year, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) took steps yesterday to try to shore up support from religious conservatives.
McCain spent an hour answering questions on a conference call with church pastors and antiabortion activists in Iowa, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Florida and other key states, a campaign spokesman said.

Respectfully to my Democratic colleagues.
I am a county committee member in a southern state. I wonder if I am the only one offended by
the first thing I see on this site, a banner that says "kicking ass."
In my view the condition of the country and the imperative for serious service oriented people to be elected to replace the current enemies of order and governments merits more than the fatuous not particulary funny rhetoric of sporting events.
If the country wants Republican adolescents they will elect the real thing.
I am an experienced blogger from Compuserve Forums days long before it was called blogging so I am hardly shocked. Just wondering if it is the tone the national committee should associate itself with?
