Now McCain is A Scooter Libby Fan Too

From ABC News:
"I think that you can make a case that he was singled out unfairly. I think that the appeals process goes forward," McCain said. "I happen to be one who admires Scooter Libby. I think he was a dedicated servant."
If President Bush were to pardon Libby, the Senator stated he would assess the facts of the case and the President's reasons for the pardon before coming to any conclusions about the decision.
"I would say I'd like to know the reasons why he did so. I would like to have him lay out, which I'm sure he would if he pardoned him, the reasons for the pardon and then I would evaluate that."
FLASHBACK: McCain suggested Patrick Fitzgerald for Attorney General. Here's a transcript of the Charlie Rose show back in 2005.
JOHN MCCAIN: I think it was incredible. This guy - he is going to be attorney general of the United States some day if he wants to be.
CHARLIE ROSE: John McCain would appoint him if he was president?
JOHN MCCAIN: He certainly would be one that would be considered, because this is - this is really the epitome of the kind of person we want conducting an investigation. And I was particularly impressed when they were asking him about other people, and he said I`m not going to talk about other people, because they aren`t implicated.

No, most Americans don't remember Sandy Berger.
But many remember Scooter's novel detailing beastiality between a bear and a young girl. This guy belongs behind bars...with a bear.
Lighten up?
You mean, Lighten up MORE?
The man revealed the identity of a CIA agent simply as an act of spite and political revenge, which could have resulted not only in many deaths (including hers), but cost networks that took a lot of years and a lot of money to build.
He did get off light. He wasn't charged with Treason, or Violating National Secrets, or any of the laws that really SHOULD have applied to the crime.
I think it was plenty light. Now they're getting in line to pardon him.
In all the reports about Libby nowhere does it say he was convicted and sentenced for outing Plame but, I guess none of that really matters now does it?
and Yes, lighten up....

that's because he lied and obstructed justice, that is why this is such a serious crime. if people are allowed to take the stand and lie and not face SEVERE consequences, then our legal system will never be the same. the other part of this story is these guys work in the executive branch of government, that means they are tasked with enforcing the laws of the land and therefore are held to an even higher standard than a drug dealer who says, under oath, that he never sold drugs.
Scooter Libby should be shot as a traitor, not jailed as a liar.
His boss, ElDuce should shot and then hung from a lamp post
