Past Three Months Are Deadliest for U.S. Troops Since War Began

The past three months have taken a terrible toll on American troops in Iraq. From the Associated Press:
The deaths brought to 99 the number of U.S. troops to die in Iraq this month, according to an Associated Press count. The toll for the past three months--329--made it the deadliest quarter for U.S. troops in Iraq since the war began in March 2003.
At least 3,576 members of the U.S. military have died since then, according to AP figures. The number includes seven military civilians. At least 2,936 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.
By the way, Monday is the fourth anniversary of President Bush's taunt to Iraqi fighters to "Bring 'em on," in response to a rising number of attacks on U.S. troops.

Mystery
Looked at but cannot be seen - it is beneath form;
Listened to but cannot be heard - it is beneath sound;
Held but cannot be touched - it is beneath feeling;
These depthless things evade definition,
And blend into a single mystery.
In its rising there is no light,
In its falling there is no darkness,
A continuous thread beyond description,
Lining what can not occur;
Its form formless,
Its image nothing,
Its name silence;
Follow it, it has no back,
Meet it, it has no face.
Attend the present to deal with the past;
Thus you grasp the continuity of the Way,
Which is its essence.
From the 14th Chapter of the Tao Te Ching. The present reality is the need to get out of Iraq, and when that is accomplished the healing process will begin. As that is The Way...

I hope this was sent to the Republicans as well as Bush and Chaney. My Dad use to say, "knock them in the head first to get their attention." Do you think someone will knock Bush and Chaney in the head and the Republicans? Maybe then the Republicans would listen to the people.

Doubtful freeforall doubtful.For one thing the skill of listening means that you at least shouldn`t be talking.

...and one thin is for certain, if we continue on the same course after the next supplemental, if we refuse to acknowledge this miserable failure, this fiasco will become bloodier and bloodier.

Interesting; I just read an AP opinion piece by Robert Burns who was saying the same thing. Is AP waking up to reporting reality? Hopefully, the rest of the media will follow.
This whole unfortunate scenario that's being played out in Iraq, was predicted by military leaders, before this fiasco even started. The Generals who stood up and told the Bushiato the truth were fired (forced into retirement).
That's not gray hair on Bush's head, that's chicken poop, where the chickens are coming home to roost.
Now that the Bushies have pretty much destroyed the military and made their cronies in the military contracting business stinking rich off of war profiteering, everybody seems to be waking up to the facts.
Better late than never I guess.
Unfortunately, until Bush is impeached and locked in the slammer, he's going to keep "staying the course" and murdering more of our kids.
IMPEACH NOW!!!

No quiero decir……

You'll know their progress when you see them in the way of the Iraqi troops. I'm sure you'd be able to know alittle too much about what you do to them when it's time to find them back home again. There is only two ways to find them one leaving for war, second comming back.

Percy: Si, señor. Este guerra es verdaderamente un desgracia de nuestro nacion.
No tengo bastante palabras en español para decir todos mis opiniones de este "guerra de mentiras" Pero estoy de acuerdo a usted.

The war in Iraq is a disaster. Of course Bush will not end it. The real problem is that the Democrats do not know how to force him to. But it can be done. For a discussion of how see my blog

Who is the war a disaster for?
Really who? I find this statement quite interesting.

What is the death toll for US troops in Iraq? OK, now add that to the WTC. What do you get? Lets see.............about twice as many, right?
So, I also remember on the afternoon of 9/11, on the news, can you remember what was happening that day in the Middle East? If you can't, let me revert to a little history. Iraqis and Palestinians, were celebrating in the streets, honking their horns and chanting and singing. If you don't remember that, then you must not have much of a memory, or you turned it off.
I would challenge any democrat to deny that, or atleast the networks. It is amazing that our forefathers fought and died to get us or freedom, but we are not willing to die for it ourselves to keep it. We have developed a mentality that the next war will have to be as bad as WWII, or worse, Nuclear or WMDs. Alquaeda does not have the rescources to do that or the will.

Well atleast the number of troops finally caught up with the Civilians. It took four years to kill the same amount of troops as it did one day for the civilian count. maybe if we get the troops home, we can get the civilian count up again and play ring around the rosie. Then you can blame Guliani again about hot making adults wear dust masks.
