Kicking Ass: The Democratic Party's Blog

The Rightroot's Sleuths Strike Again

Posted by Michael Link on June 13, 2007 at 10:09 AM

Comments at this blog close automatically after a certain number of days. It's a pretty standard tool in order to fight spam comments, although different blogs deal with it in different ways.

So long after a post was written, the detectives over at the right-wing Virginia Virtucon and Michelle Malkin's Hotair whined about CENSORSHIP! at the Democratic Party blog. They (falsely) claimed that the substance of comments caused the thread to be closed, as part of some grand conspiracy.

Oops. Do these guys ever get it right? Will they issue a correction? Well, here's how the Viginia Virtucon blogger responded to a commenter: "Blah, blah, blah." Maybe there's a better chance at Hotair, given that Michelle Malkin -- who runs it, but didn't write the post -- is such an expert at corrections.

reads to me like more than just the regular 8 posted on the orginal thread.

I posted this reply on the original:

Steph. I dont see your point. The Mexican upperclass elite do grow richer by riding the backs of the poor. That government does in effect export their own people in order to draw money from US to bolster their economy.
Have the French not jailed people for incorrect speech?

Is Russia not run by ex-KGB? Does not the entire world make jokes about Putin bumping off his enemies?

If you have something rotten to say about Thompson, something of substance and not based on the pure desire to trash a Republican - let's hear it.

Did he say he hated kittens? That might be something to fuss about.

Ok, since comments are back on for this because the cons are morons, I'll tell you what the point is, idiot. Your momma is a whore. That's the point. You're an inbred stupid hick.

What's the matter? Did I hurt your feelings? Let's try to work out our differences, even though you have a brain the size of a pea and probably won't understand half of what I say.

What, you still don't like what I'm saying to you, halfwit? Awww, are you gonna cry about it?

Getting the point yet, scumbag? Or shall I be LESS diplomatic and MORE insulting to you?

We cannot afford another EIGHT years of a President who basically tells the rest of the world they are shit. DO YOU GET THE POINT?!?

Posted by GregL on June 13, 2007 at 11:09 AM

Es, you're right, a lot more than just the Eight posted....and I have a feeling that the people who "don't get the point" and agree with Thompson probably work for MM and VV. Those are the types of posts where the trolls really ARE Repugnicant operatives.

Hey guy's...have some fun. If you hit the link and go back to the original post you can still comment...which is what I did. Missed it when it was originally up.

It will be interesting to see if any of the riot inciters or sheeple's have the energy to capitulate.

Bring it on...sheeples...give us your best shots. Closed comment indeed :)

Michelle Malkin is probably one of the most useless people on the face of the Earth. Also, seeing her (very unattractive) face usually causes me to throw up a little in my mouth.

Who cares if Republican blogs don't like the way we post? Let them deal with the their own, who obviously come here because the discussion is better.

What a riot the reich-wingnuts are. Michael, the rules of the KA blog have been clear since Day One. Posts naturally close at given and reasonable length of time. Just because the Malkintents are either unwilling or unable to read and understand the rules doesn't mean the rules don't exist. They've existed from the git-go (and I've been here all along as witness).

I know for a fact that they'll pick and choose among sentences of the various posts (as they always do) to twist and reconstruct as they see fit. Those who have been reading me over the last nearly-4 years will have no such problem, so here goes:

In the extreme, wingnut right, we're dealing with a group of people who believe that the earth was created in six days flat, only 5,000 years ago, that global warming is a librul myth, that Mexicans are taking our jobs when it's more than demonstrably clear that Republican "free traders" have been taking them and shipping them (and our money) offshore where we'll never see them again. As for the creationist lunatics who insist that multi-million-year-old fossils were placed in the ground to fool humans, you have to wonder what kind of weird, twisted devil-trickster god they worship.

These are people who can look you straight in the eye and state that they're pro-war, pro-death-penalty and (miraculously and inexplicably) pro-life. A sane person can't do that: the concepts are poles apart and irreconcilable.

The right are comprised of people who can believe that if enemies torture our troops, the enemies will never get reliable intelligence, while at the same time they believe if we torture brown-skinned people we snatch off the street at random, we'll always get the truth. Despite the droves of professional interrogators who tell you that torture never produces reliable intelligence (because it's their job to know!), the right relish the thought of inflicting pain, terror, suffering and death on someone they don't even know.

It's such a sanitary way to glide one's immortal soul to darkest hell, isn't it. They're all for guts and glory, so long as their guts aren't in any way inconvenienced or damaged. Buncha cowardly chickenhawks, the lot of them.

They believe that it is somehow possible to "export democracy" at the point of a gun (impossible, given the definition of democracy) and that Americans are somehow "freer" since the President and an out-of-control Republican Congress continually attacked the Constitution until the last election managed to slow that erosion toward theocratic totalitariansim.

You can't become "freer" by throwing away your rights. It cannot be done. Yet, the right are so willing to throw away American law and precedent.

A sane person couldn't accept that rationalization and a patriotic American wouldn't.

The Bill of Rights is the one thing that makes America "America" and not Stalinist Russia (or Falwell's theocratic plutocracy). To throw away the rights that our ancestors fought to ensconce in the fabric our our Constitution is by any definition un- and anti-American. Yet, the wingnuts question our patriotism when we seek to protect the Constitution and its Bill of Rights.

Again, it's a completely unbalanced, irrational and indefensible stance they take.

George Bush called the Constitution of the United States "just a goddam piece of paper". If a person attacks the Constitution, he is directly attacking that which is, in and of itself, America. I served this country twice in uniform and each time promised to protect, uphold and defend the Constitution first and foremost. Bush slapped every patriotic American in the face with that remark of his. This veteran will never, ever forgive him for that.

By the very oath he swore when he took office (raising his right hand and placing his left on the Bible), those words plus his actions in circumventing constitutional law make him an enemy of America. QED, he should have put himself in Gitmo.

That's right -- he placed his hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. Not the other way around. Then, by ample demonstration, neither Bush nor any of the neoKKKon wackgelicals have ever cracked open the Bible to anything other than a few picked-over phrases from Leviticus.

"You will know them by their fruit". Evil only produces evil and the neoKKKon hard-right has only produced evil. Besides, I never saw any place in the Gospels (Jesus' own words, not third-hand through sun-baked "prophets", mind you) that cheered for war, excused torture, glorified greed and unlawfulness, or sanctified racism. Nope, Jesus was the ultimate liberal, caring for the poor, the sick, the downtrodden. Jesus daily did the kinds of things that the right would kill Him all over again for being a "librul". That's why the wackgelical, neoKKKon right never quote Him. Jevver notice? They don't. Christ is altogether too inconvenient to right-winger "Christianity".

It's the same Orwellian mental unbalance that says
that a person becomes freer, the more rights he gives up. Same thing. Still crazy.

Philosophical irreconcilability doesn't bother them in the least. Either they cannot comprehend the meaning of their anti-American rants and screeds (for which they should be locked up and treated) or they don't care (in which case, they should be locked up as the treasonous seditionists they, by definition, are).

Clinging to irrational beliefs despite all fact and evidence to the contradiction of those beliefs is, in and of itself, a definition of insanity. It's long past time to put these people in their place and get them far away from our American government and way of life.

William... as usual I find your writing to be right on target... the only problem is when you suggest..."It's long past time to put these people in their place..." The place they need to be has been closed by their cronies... AN INSANE ASYLUM! Tell you what since they have been closed... let's send them to prison for TREASON! ... Oh that's right we are at war that means we EXECUTE THEM FOR TREASON! I'm sure that will stir up a wind storm. :)
