I heard a radio report on a poll yesterday comparing Democrats and republics on all the major issues of the day.
I believe that the Dems led the repigs in all issues.
I can't seem to find it on line or in the MSM. I wonder why? Can someone find it.

PERSPECTIVE: Testing of voting machines a never-ending pursuit
Cute, this thing is really slow posting this morning. Sorry.
Judge orders recount
HOBOKEN - A Hudson County judge has ordered a full recount of the votes from the 4th Ward runoff election that saw challenger Dawn Zimmer narrowly beat incumbent Hoboken City Councilman Christopher Campos.
State Superior Court Judge Maurice Gallipoli set the date for the full recount for tomorrow afternoon, officials said.
Civic leader gets five years
Less than a week after insisting that she did nothing illegal while signing people up to vote, Debra Martinez Briseno on Monday admitted that she had lied and was guilty as charged.
...
In August, following an investigation by the attorney general's office, a Calhoun County grand jury indicted Briseno on charges of illegal voting, tampering with a governmental record, making a false statement on a registration application, unlawful voter assistance and possessing a ballot intended for another person.
Briseno was tried on two counts of illegal voting in connection with filling out voter registration cards for two non-citizens who did not write or read English - Antonio Suarez and Lino Suarez - and saying they were U.S. citizens when they were not.
The jury was unanimous in finding her guilty on both counts.
Tatum noted that he counted 96 lies during Briseno and her husband's testimony.
In the March 2006 Democratic primary, Briseno faced Hope Kurtz and Greg Falcon in the race for the Democratic nomination for justice of the peace. Briseno received the most votes in the election with one vote separating Kurtz and Falcon. In a recount, Kurtz picked up one vote to tie her with Falcon. The matter was settled with a coin toss and Kurtz won in a runoff election.
morning john and esmeralda, just went out and got my nytimes. the lead story is how yougins are leaning democratic for the upcoming elections, here is a bit i put up on the tuesday blog this morning:
By a 52 to 36 majority, young Americans say that Democrats, rather than Republicans, come closer to sharing their moral values, while 58 percent said they had a favorable view of the Democratic Party, and 38 percent said they had a favorable view of Republicans.
Asked if they were enthusiastic about any of the candidates running for president, 18 percent named Mr. Obama, of Illinois, and 17 percent named Mrs. Clinton, of New York. Those two were followed by Rudolph W. Giuliani, a Republican, who was named by just 4 percent of the respondents.
....i think there is a good chance the presidummie has buried the republican party for a long, long time. this will be all the more likely if the democrats can provide vision and a program that offers hope and progress to the voters. unfourtunetly all this has come at a huge price to the world and to future generations over the past seven years.
I received the following from Bill Richardson's office yesterday.
Governor Bill Richardson Scores an "A" with Conservation Voters New Mexico
SANTA FE - Governor Bill Richardson was today awarded a Grade "A" by Conservation Voters New Mexico (CVNM). CVNM today published their 2007 Legislative Scorecard, which gives Governor Richardson "a solid "A" for his commitment to protecting the environment.
"In addition to increasing the renewable energy standard, an impressive package of clean energy policies was enacted (this session)--a result of the importance that Governor Richardson places on making New Mexico the "Clean Energy State," said Sandy Buffett, Executive Director of Conservation Voters New Mexico. "We would like to especially commend Governor Richardson for his courage and principle when exercising his veto on behalf of the environment-- his vetoes protected New Mexico's last free-flowing river, blocked a $6.9 million de facto subsidy to the coal industry and upheld strong campaign finance reporting rules."
"We have worked closely with all those who seek to conserve our water, air and public lands and establish New Mexico as the clean energy state--and this grade shows we've worked well together," Governor Richardson said. "Having enacted 23 pro-conservation bills this year, this legislative session was an unprecedented success with significant increases to our renewable energy portfolio standard, passage of the surface owner's protection act and the Renewable Energy Transmission Authority. Our budget included monies for land and wildlife conservation and clean energy projects, but I remain committed to finding a dedicated source of revenue for conservation projects around the state."
CVNM is a nonpartisan, non-profit environmental group that works to make sensible conservation policies a top-priority for elected officials, political candidates and voters across the state. For more information, please visit www.CVNM.org [ http://www.CVNM.org ].
Our state government has noticed that gasoline prices in New Mexico are about 10 cents higher than the National Average. We are normally slightly lower than the National Average.
Yesterday the State wrote a letter to the oil companies demanding answers. At least someone has cajones. Where is the Federal Government on gouging?
The State gave us an $84 rebate two years ago to help pay for gas.
Hi Morning All Dems!It will be interesting to see how the Senator Lugar declaration will play out. I would have been happier if he had gone with the Democrats on it,and I understand why he would give w a chance to save a little disgrace.Unfortunately for the senator he`s dealing with someone who doesn`t have a firm grip on reality.
The CIA Family Jewels are posted in their entirety at the National Security Archive.
my, my
The Vice President claims he's exempt from presidential executive orders because, as President of the Senate, he is "attached" to the legislative branch.
But Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states:
The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected ...
It's time to remind the Vice President that he can't ignore our nation's laws. We're putting together a special copy of the U.S. Constitution just for him -- one that has the 39 original signatures along with all of ours.

when the congresscritters go home to their districts over the FOURTH OF JULY break, there will be parades and picnics and hell to pay!
we cannot end this war without reThug support. the people will be vocal in their opposition.
this is as it should be. end it NOW!
the reThugs do not want the red meat of Iraq hanging around their necks come election time. we need more than Lugar and Voynavich (sp), and after the fourth, we will have more.
this is a turning point...
the immigration issues screws the republicans whichever way they turn. as i recall in the italian ghetto where my grand parents lived most spoke italian and never learned english...no one ever talked about forcing them to speak english...it would be unamerican. but these are different times and the republicans are being pulled by the nose down roads familiar to kkk auxilaries and xenophobes....so in this mornings wall street urinal ( soon to be taken over by uncle rupert who will tear the gingham dress from it, take the unread bible from its hands, dress it in hots pants and put it out on the street like the cheap trick it really always has been, hahaha...) we have the following:
WSUrinal
Immigration and the GOP
June 27, 2007; Page A12
Immigration reform stayed alive in the Senate yesterday, albeit not without continuing rancor among Republicans. Restrictionists seem to believe the issue will harm the GOP if it succeeds, but we think the political reality is closer to the opposite: The greater danger for Republicans is if it fails...
...The longer term danger is that the GOP is sending a message to Latinos that it doesn't want them in the party. And if that message sticks, Republicans could put themselves back in minority party status for a generation or more. Hispanics are the largest ethnic minority in the country, and their voting numbers continue to grow. Hispanics were estimated to be 8% of the electorate in 2006, compared to 6% in 2004 and 5.5% in 2000. Census data show that the number of Latino voters could rise to 10% or more by 2008. The demographic reality is that the GOP can't be a majority party with Anglo-Saxon votes alone...
...Hispanics...know that when Tom Tancredo calls for an immigration "time out," he's not talking about the Irish. He means no more Mexicans, Hondurans or other Hispanics. If the GOP wants to be deserted by Hispanics for the next few election cycles, that sort of talk should do the trick.
A recent WSJ/NBC News poll showed that Hispanics now self-identify as Democrats rather than Republicans by 51%-21%...
me, i had lamb shank steamed in banana leaves with a side of rice and beans last night and it was superb!
morning fade...still off the smokes right? over two years now?
Senator John Edwards is on NOVA M Radio right now! If you haven't ponied up a hundred bucks to be a founder, please consider it.
This network, founded by Anita and Shelly Drobny, will be the first radio network owned by the listeners. The concept is perfect for a democratic radio future. We can defeat the hate-spew of the reich-wingers like Rush and Hannity with our own stations.
If you haven't listened, give it a try. We have a voice of the people, and we need your support.
I'm a founder and hope you will be too.
or go ahead on and send those emails to the MSM...because they love the controversy and the ratings...feed the beast or get yerself free...your choice

Thanks fade2bluz,my name is added.Personally,I would love to see the Democratic Party impeach him. It`s way past time that our party has needed to declare that we are fed up with this BS.

You are SO right, fade, this IS a turning point for the Repubs ! Are they going to continue to cling to this Failure and Lie of an occupation, and placate the last 30% of the American public like the ignorants who come in here, or will they look at the elections coming up in less than 500 days, and try to keep their job? me thinks they will toss that last 30% aside!
WASHINGTON (CNN) — A new low of 30 percent of Americans say they support the U.S. war in Iraq and, for the first time, most Americans say they don’t believe it is morally justified, a poll released Tuesday said.
In the poll, which was carried out Friday through Sunday, 30 percent of respondents said they favor the war in Iraq; 41 percent said they oppose it because they think the 2003 decision to go to war was a mistake; 26 percent said they oppose it because they think it has been mismanaged; and 3 percent said they had no opinion. Ms. Edwards Asks Coulter to Stop Attacks

I say let this old slut keep up her hateful smears! What better way to show the TRUE COLORS of the Republican Party than these examples like her! "Here, people is your fine, family values, moral, compassionate conservatives!"
What an ad that will make right before the elections. running a few minutes of hate filled spew out of the mouths of these pigs!!
Asking if this is the type of party you identify with!
oh! Good morning to you fine Dems!
{{{fade}}} sorry I missed you, ygm btw.
going to be another scorcher here today. Not used to these days this early in June. Got to go close up the house and turn on the air before it gets too hot. I hate to use the power up, but hate the heat.
bbl,
morning Pam,I think that the people get it.All that happens with the surge is the opposition adjusts. We do not have enough people to control it all. This will go on and on and on.........with no end in sight.Big deal even if they can manage of the green zone.Right now the U.S.Embassy and other key sights in Baghdad are being hit at a reported higher frequency then ever before.Great efforts are being made to keep this away from the American public as they try to paint their upbeat picture.fades right this is a turning point. After the 4th of July we will see repubs abandoning ship and singing a different song.
Got to go even though it means going out in this heat!Hope to jump back in later in the day or evening.I get over whelmed by th sheer numbers of all the conversations though as the day progresses.See ya!
i watched hardball yesterday, and while i feel chris tried to remain centered, why you would even have a hate moger like ann on your show is beyond reason. they give her a stage to spread her hate, both on the dem party and i guess chubby people. i would rather see klansmen on jerry springer, at least you know the springer show is for entertainment only. shame on MSNBC and mostly on chris matthews.
jimmy,
by all means, let MSNBC and Matthews know your feelings about their promoting someone like Coulter on their network. Hate breeds hate.

Actually gregg when I check the historical record the GOP has always been a nativist party. I think they got even more vicious in modern times because of the influence of the neo-nazi movement and right wingnuts such as Michelle Malcontent.

Washington - A high-ranking Bush administration official was sentenced to 10 months in prison on Tuesday for lying to Congress as it investigated a bribery scandal centered on lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Steven Griles, who served as the No. 2 Interior Department official between 2001 and 2005, had hoped to serve his sentence at home working for a charity sponsored by Walt Disney Co. and several outdoor-equipment makers.
But Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle said Griles had refused to take responsibility for his actions and imposed a sentence tougher than the one sought by prosecutors.
"Even now, you continue to minimize and try to excuse your conduct and the nature of your misstatements," Huvelle said.
Griles, 59, is the highest-ranking Bush administration official convicted in the wide-ranging bribery scandal centered around Abramoff.
Griles pleaded guilty in March to obstructing the Senate Indian Affairs Committee as it examined Abramoff's clout in the Interior Department.
Abramoff is serving a six-year prison sentence and cooperating with investigators.
Griles was introduced to Abramoff by Griles' sometime girlfriend, Italia Federici, shortly before he started at Interior. Federici has also pleaded guilty to obstructing Congress.
Federici acted as a go-between for the two men as they worked together to influence Interior Department actions that affected Abramoff's Indian-tribe clients, Justice Department lawyers said.

rj...I was ranting on yesterday about impeaching "Fat Back" Cheney...you missed some good rants....glad to see you're back with us today
'Morning Dawnie....
Where you located Dawnie girl? Those storms we were talking about yesterday hit central and north Texas...several people lost including some in Austin....bad flooding north of Ft Worth....
Near Asheville. We've been getting some wonderful summer storms (not too violent) up here the last week or so. It's finally gone beyond opening windows at night. Too sticky. But for this Florida Gal it's still better than summers down there. EVER! Plus they don't last as long.
FALL is the dreamiest around here. The people are pretty "dreamy" ;-) too!
Considering what much of the planet is suffering I feel a bit guilty although I'm WITH them on the broke issue. I think I'd rather be broke and here than rich and anywhere else I've travelled!
Main Entry: 1trav·el
Pronunciation: 'tra-v&l
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): -eled or -elled; -el·ing or trav·el·ling /'tra-v&-li[ng], 'trav-li[ng]/
Etymology: Middle English travailen, travelen to torment, labor, strive, journey, from Anglo-French travailler
Date: 14th century
intransitive verb
1 a : to go on or as if on a trip or tour : JOURNEY b (1) : to go as if by traveling : PASS (2) : ASSOCIATE c : to go from place to place as a sales representative or business agent
whew! lol
Dawnie....Asheville is kinda like "a tough of Heaven"
What part of Florida are you from? I grew up in Stuart, Florida (just s. of Ft Pierce) and worked for many years in the construction business in Tampa and St. Pete and went to school in Lakeland.
Suffering the summer here in FL, Dawnie. Hot and muggy.
Farm substities. Sure don't help the hunger situation here in America or anywhere else in the world as a matter of fact. They boil down to getting paid NOT to plant a particular crop.
Can you imagine how the food situation would change if substities were removed?
Oh yeah, I forgot-USDA no longer calls it hunger. An empty stomach is now referred to as "low food security".
Lord help them.
Peace folks, peace. \/

g'morning everybody...sure wish some of that rain would come my way. we're down to over 50% below normal rainfall and my last months water bill arrived yesterday. $111 to keep my vegies from turning to dust! at least i'm still bringing in tomatoes, eggplant, cucs, corn, garlic and oinons. just this morning brought in about 40 lbs of a delicious little acidy salad tomato called 'first lady'. prehaps we'll be changing its name to 'hillary', eh? ah ah. or perhaps 'dem girl' (no, not 'dim').
of the crooks, by the crooks, and for the crooks? perhaps, but of late its been more like 'government of the working folks, by the crooked ceos, for the benefit of the greedy corporations'. if our democratic congress will grow a pair (pelosi excepted, she already has bigger ones than most of the guys) and step up to the plate perhap we can make our great nation live up to the expectations we put in our children's starry young eyes. let's start by declaring 'darth cheney' a hazardous waste and isolate him from humanity more than he already is. this man is so far out of control i suspect the bohemian club won't even let him thru the gate. anyway, have a great day people.
{{Boilerman)) you're making me hungry! My Mom is a frrrreak for tomatoes!
I hear ya on Nancy too! She's a Rock Star imho!
Time for brunch - and a quick rain dance for "boiler"
Be back to read U all L8tr!

dawnie...thanks for the dance! perhaps if i look to the west i'll see your smoke...:)
Nice post BoilerMan...hope you do get some rain....
Dawnie...I spent some time in Sarasota,...used to be a nice place...we left Tampa/St. Pete area in '78 to come to Texas...even that far back traffic was getting very bad in Sarasota and the water table was falling rapidly...
Hey, {{Y'all}}
{{J}} you must have been reading my mind lately. Been off on a tear about the "farm" subsidies... seems that only Big Agra (ConAgra, ADM and the other multi-zillion-dollar mega-corps) get subsidies for not-growing things. Little guys like the family farmer (and much smaller ones like me) can't get squat -- for growing anything or not. "Farm subsidies" are just another repig smoke-screen, like tobacco subsidies and million-dollar grants to zillion-dollar drug companies for R&D (which they spend on advertising).
Corporate welfare has got to come to an end or there'll be no money left. Oops, that's right, Chimpy and his merry band of rubber stampers have already drained the treasury and given it all to their megarich cronies... grr
"even that far back traffic was getting very bad in Sarasota and the water table was falling rapidly...

that far back - was BEFORE I-75 went thru. It got much better. US 41 sux. Always has. I do have some fond beach memories as a kid (much less tourism back then)
Water table flucuated during my years there but I do remember my Dad only being able to water the lawn on ODD numbered days as our address also ended in odd numbers.
A beautiful day here in SF Bay area, home to a majoriy of liberal and centrist demos who share a genuine distrust of the republican right. Purposely missed Coulter on Mathews' show yesterday but took the time to e-mail them that I skipped it because of the loathesome guest he had on, she has enough exposure on the hate-mongering right wing airwaves (comprised of more than 80% of all radio network shows). She doesn't need an outlet for fair minded, and civic minded, people.
Caught a glimpse of Giuliani making nice-nice with looney tunes Pat Robertson. Guess we lost the vote of the flat earth society. Now there's a leader for you, maybe there'd be room in a Giuliani cabinet for the christian conservative's leading nut case. Guess Hugo Chavez knows of their close alliance, which explains why he's buying up every military weapon he can get his hands on. He's not going to let Robertson spoil his party, especially after Robertson advocated his assasination!! There might be one thing the ex-mayor has in his favor, we've never had a two-time-loser-in- marriage trophy wife for a first lady before.
Laughs in store daily watching the withering republican party, some times you just have to look in the right places.

Remember Farm Aid back in 1987? Designed to help the family farms that were being foreclosed upon by banks. Well, score one for the corporate farm's lobbyist's. Because one score later, and it's still the same.
hope you enjoyed your eats, dawnie. you guys aren't gonna believe this, but my 87 yr old father who visited for a few days heard the playlist on my comp and said it was great 'easy listening' and asked if i'd make a copy for him. i'm really flabergasted, after spending years listening to country western, he now enjoys hearing a randomly shuffled list of songs from lynyrd skynyrd, deja vu, bob marley, and prairie wind! just proves that 'hope shines eternal'...:)
hey caldem...tune your web radio to kmud.org out of redway

Good Morning / Afternoon, ALL!
It looks like Chimpy is gearing up for his Dictatorship to begin. Remember, his latest stunt to take over ALL branches of Government just on HIS say-so? All HE has to do is declare an emergency and ALL facets of the Government convert to the White House. No Congress, no SCOTUS, no other agencies.
Well, buried in that abomination is a clause that allows him to ALSO seize private businesses, like the internet, newspapers, and broadcasting & cable operations. Phone companies, too.
What could possibly go wrong?
If this had been an actual emergency ...

Bowing to pressure, Dick Cheney finally admits he's a part of the executive branch of government. It's a good thing, too, because he has already admitted he was part of the executive branch in the past. Here's the video to prove it:
WOW, I'm reading the almanac (in the paper, not the actual book) and today is the anniversary of the Stonewall "riots" in 1969. Like Margaret Meade said "a small group of people is the only thing that can change the world". 8 PO'd drag queens (their term) faced down the NYPD and thus started the Gay rights movement.

OMG I hope not! ack!
I recognize that there are many problems within the Republican Party; the entire party system has become corrupt, and I am working to change it from the inside. But I would ask my Democrat friends, "Do you really know what your party stands for?" I don't recall if it was Glenn Beck or Mark Davis who said that the Republicans are taking us to hell on a train, but the Democrats are taking us there in a jet. I implore you to read my blog at http://blog.myspace.com/johnwlowe, read your party's platform, get involved, and work to bring some honor back to your party. You hate Bush; I get it, but spending all your time pronouncing your hatred accomplishes absolutely nothing. Likewise, you have already achieved equal protection under the law for racial minorities, and it's time to stop wasting resources appeasing loud obnoxious minority leaders like Sharpton and Jackson who seek to give their people special treatment over everyone else. Why not redistribute these wasted resources to battles that still need to be fought? There is an internal battle in the Democratic party regarding discrimination. While you are generally known for acceptance of all people, Christianity, especially Mormons, have come under heavy discrimination within your party, causing almost all Christians to flee your party and side with the Republicans. Resources could also be directed to ending national discrimination based on a person's way of life; the battle for gay rights still has a long way to go. You could direct more attention to a woman's right to choose abortion, and furthering embryonic stem-cell research, both of which are under constant fire from republicans. I hate the Democratic Party leaders and the organization that they control, but I do not hate you constituents of the party, just as I hope you do not hate me the way you hate Bush. If we cooperate on both sides, with our main goal being to end government corruption at the party level, we will accomplish wonders for our nation.

The Senate Judiciary Committee today subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney's office for documents relating to President Bush's warrant-free eavesdropping program.

So many untrue statements, so little time. I'll tell you what, we will stop listening to Sharpton when you stop listening to Limbaugh, deal? And as far as hating "bush", that is not what is driving droves to our party, it is the complete failure of the GOP to get anything worthwhile accomplished while deconstructing our foreign policy and economic stability. Mormons? Give me a break. I'll stop there.
When the Republicans include the People in their agenda maybe we will have a base to talk.
yea what's THAT all about?
I do believe our fearless leader Harry Reid is also a Mormon. Although I think Harry has problems that have nothing to do with his being Mormon.
When the republicans are driven by the best interest of the People rather than selfserving greed maybe we can begin to come together.
The thunder has arrived, I hope it pours, and I'll be back later.

Hey jimmyc you're my favorite President!
When the Republicans throw out the NEOCons and the PNAC people along with their idiology and embrace health care for everyone, a more equitable distribution of wealth, education for everyone (rather than warehousing our kids and turning them onto the streets ignorant of knowledge of how to recognize when they are being robbed)...and on and on. The Republicans have a long way to go before they will have the respect of the People.
I'll respect the Pugs when they keep on walking until their heads float.

New Poll Finds That Young Americans Are Leaning Left
By Adam Nagourney and Megan Thee
The New York Times
Young Americans are more likely than the general public to favor a government-run universal health care insurance system, an open-door policy on immigration and the legalization of gay marriage, according to a New York Times/CBS News/MTV poll.
The poll offers a snapshot of a group whose energy and idealism have always been as alluring to politicians as its scattered focus and shifting interests have been frustrating. It found that substantially more Americans ages 17 to 29 than four years ago are paying attention to the presidential race. But they appeared to be really familiar with only two of the candidates, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, both Democrats.
They have continued a long-term drift away from the Republican Party. And although they are just as worried as the general population about the outlook for the country and think their generation is likely to be worse off than that of their parents, they retain a belief that their votes can make a difference, the poll found.
More than half of Americans ages 17 to 29 - 54 percent - say they intend to vote for a Democrat for president in 2008. They share with the public at large a negative view of President Bush, who has a 28 percent approval rating with this group, and of the Republican Party. They hold a markedly more positive view of Democrats than they do of Republicans.

Hmmmm....Anybody see the creation of another position that reports directly to the president, can give orders to civilian and defense related agencies and departments, just like the president, as a good thing?
And, if we trying to make an attempt or at least give the impression that we want to get the f**k out, do we need to escalate or surge in administration positions??
None of the Generals that were asked to apply, applied and all see this position as not particularly needed.
If we are supposed to be listening to our commanders and generals (of which we have been accused of not doing) why wouldn't we listen now??
Smoke and mirrors sheeple.
In a 22-2 vote, the Senate Armed Services Committee yesterday approved the nomination of Lt. Gen. Douglas E. Lute to become the Bush administration’s new war czar. A vote in the full Senate “could come this week.”

I tell my son, 10 years old, not to use the word hate because it is probably the strongest word in the english language, and within your post you throw it around nonchalantly, what, 8 - 10 times?
It is interesting timing, however, that your post comes to us after the words of Ms. Coulter yesterday concerning John Edwards and that is the context that I will decode your message of our supposedly vendetta of republicans.
You are correct when you assert that your party is disintegrating from within, but it is your parties membership that chooses spin over reality that is propelling that implosion.
If you really desire to help your party, and our country's democratic process, you can begin by choosing to turn off the hate-filled words of our conservative media mouth pieces.
All of these bullshit pronouncements, back and forth, wasting time and doing the same shit everytime and expecting different results!
Ross Perot told the country the same thing and because he's not good looking and tall, people didn't accept his message.
Stop the bullshit America. Just vote the bastards out! Not by voting in another top runner backed by the fucking corporations that earn billions and refuse to raise your pay one damn dollar, but the guy or gall that you know in your heart is good for it.
Today we're treated like children-and with good reason. If you let children make decisions they'll will not choose wisely. So, the party system gives their choice of candidates, all paid for by big money and making empty promises. So,you choose from the pack they hand you. You don't demand more, you don't even think about it, you just vote for one of them.
America got in this situation because American are daffy! American's have their priorities wrong and it's reflected in the gov't you choose. You are the ones that want gov't to think for you; do for you; take care of you. Two people can't agree on anything. If you could, then you could free your nation of the bondage of coruption. Thereby freeing your ass, you ass!
The dumber Americans get, the harder life is for me. So, wake the fuck up! And if my language offends you, too bad. It's better that I curse at you than let you simplemindedly give all our power away to those who lust to take it! Which is worst, cursing at you in the hopes of waking your sorry ass or letting you give your nation away?
The thunderstorm was excellent! Didn't cool down that much yet, though. I was sitting out o the front porch enjoying a nice cool breeze when it thundered so loud that I came almost two inches off the chair. However, it's now 87 and humid again. Can't wait for the next one!!

So maybe instead of jacking up about it we should plead with the MSM to give us more, as much as we can get, of the walking herpe's carrier. Maybe she can get her own show? Maybe she and Glen Beck could do a Hannity/Coombes thing?
In reality though, these vermin are running a very tight rope. They have to be as provacative as possible to now get any attention. It's like having the bad guy in the ring on WWF. There has to be someone that pisses you off so bad, you want to vomit.
And that's what they have become. Entertaining Pond Scum without relevance.
And like WWF, you can laugh at them, knowing that that is all they are.

The absolute best think was to have all those McCain posters behind her while she screeched. Coffin meet nail.

A little hint ...this blog has been united in the purpose of aiding our party to stop the dumbing down of american politics for the last 3 years. You would never find an apathetic participant on this blog with the exception of our bretheren on the dark side, who occassionally drop in and retreat, just as quickly.
As far as Americans wanting government to take care of them or do for them.....interesting. If and this is a big if, you are a foreign national, most democratic countries, with the exception of our own, have national healthcare schemes and are a lot more left leaning, than our own. Hell, they're downright socialist, compared to us.
There are certain and specific programs that should be nationalized and for the most part, that is what the democratic party stands for. It's not dumbing down, it's fair and dare I say, compassionate.
On the topic of candidates, what is happening and you would only know this if you are paying attention, is that the electorate is getting a lot more savy in their choices and because of the mistake of the last six years, are educating themselves politically. There is a rebirth in the american electorate and it's growing. Like our illustrious president pinhead said" "Fool me once, shame on you..fool me and you can't get fooled..again"
Words to live by, if you are a cheesebrain. Another hint, tread lightly in the future...respect is an earned thing around here.
...I've had a pretty good day...at least so far. Got off work early, picked up my boat from servicing, know I have another early day tomorrow with Friday off meaning it's "Fishin' Friday" and when I got online to see if anything but tradgedy occured today I read about subpoenas for Vice President cheney. Please, please, please Congress show the country how depraved and immoral cheney is. Impeach the sadistic bastard and throw his ... in jail with his buddy Scooter. Extortion is a criminal offense, which occurs when a person either obtains money, property or services from another through coercion or intimidation or threatens one with physical or reputational harm unless they are paid money or property.
Amnesty (from the Greek amnestia, oblivion) is an act of justice by which the supreme power in a state restores those who may have been guilty of any offence against it to the position of innocent persons. It includes more than pardon, in as much as it obliterates all legal remembrance of the offence.

I just received the following email from Elizabeth Edwards.
"Dear John,
Last night I had an important talk with Ann Coulter and I want to tell you what happened.
On Monday, Ann announced that instead of using more homophobic slurs to attack John, she will just wish that John had been "killed in a
terrorist assassination plot."
Where I am from, when someone does something that displeases you, you politely ask them to stop. So when I heard Ann was going to be on "Hardball" last night, I decided to call in and ask her to engage on the issues and stop the personal attacks. I told her these kinds of personal attacks lower our political dialogue at precisely the time when we need to raise it, and set a bad example for our children.
How did she respond? Sadly, perhaps predictably, with more personal attacks.
John's campaign is about the issues -- but pundits like Ann Coulter are trying to shout him down. If they will not stop, it is up to us
cut through the noise. Help us fight back -- please give what you can today."
coldsore is a REAL PRICK.
Congress has made soldiers minors to drinking, even if they are adult enough to die for our country. Yet they are adult enough to gamble with their lives and on military bases where the profits fund the Officers Clubs.
Well there is a new twist to this, the military are no longer allowing them into dance clubs that allow people from 18 to 20 inside, the Pensacola NAS has banned any military from enjoying what other eighteen year old civilians can enjoy. Does that mean someone in the reserves is also banned entry.
Let see you serve in Iraq and can't dance this sounds like conservative discrimination. What do those base commander's ban their soldiers?
They say the military was letting too many people out of the service for drinking and carrousing. How many soldiers are discharged for minimum age drinking, and carousing, when we need every body to stay in. Is drinking by itself punishable by termination. Does one have to have a Conservative mold to stay in the service?
How come in Republican regimes, we move all new bases to Conservative areas and close those Liberal based sites. Then we impose strict Republican religion of devout Presidential faith on the Armed Forces.
What places and event do the military ban, does not the press have the right to know?

"Does Michael Link EVER take a day off?"
Ha! What can I say? I love my job too much.
It's thundering here again too DPD! The sky doesn't look to threatening yet, but the rumblings are grumbling.
Those cunning, manipulative corporate wastes of space are behind the push for cheap labor, to include those retained here illegally in the past. It's interesting to note that this legislation was initially pushed most forcibly by the republican administration under the direction of George Bush. Of course, this was all part of a larger scheme to distract the democratic party.
Lucky for us, most democrats have not been distracted. Certainly a few have, then there are those who work for corporate interests anyway, but for the most part democrats remain focused on more pressing matters. Iraq is the most pressing of them all, then their is the Health Care issue and Social Security, the enormous cost of fuel, etc.
Let's get back to business and stop falling for republican trickery already.
Let's do something about the inflated cost of fuel. You know, those inflated costs that have given the industry record profits consistently. These are killing American families and small businesses and are not even reflected in the current calculations for annual inflation.
Reign in the Oil Moguls before they drive more Americans into poverty.
There is no excuse for inaction on this issue. They have all been exhausted at this point.

Stephanie,
That Romney family vacation story is priceless. Who "leaked" the story? I'm betting it was Tagg...no, that is the dog's name. Ha.
The price of gasoline and diesel is downright criminal. The republic party doesn't give a shit because they are given some of the excess oil company profits for their campaigns and no doubt their personal bank accounts.
Someone had better do something soon. Iran has started rationing gasoline so that they will not be paralyzed when we start the war with them. They are smart.

The wheels of justice turn slowly but they grind exceedingly fine.
I think that's the quote.
I wonder how many Americans would approve of Congress if they were to press our petroleum industry on this issue? Perhaps 70 or 80 percent. How about those local governments attempting to adjust to the infated costs of fuel by increasing taxes and thus facing severe backlash? I'm guessing that we are looking at around 70 to 80 percent of them applauding actions which would reign in this industry as well.
Do you really want to have a major and positive effect on this country? If you do then you will take action against this for its manipulations leading to increased profits. Without a doubt this industry has lied consistently for the past four to five years, if not longer.

Know that you are very appreciated, Michael!
Sandy, it's obvious that those increase at the store are connected to the increased fuel costs as well. The increased cost of transportation due to the increased cost of fuel is passed onto the consumer after all. I immagine that the cost of rent has increased across the country for much the same reason. It certainly costs more to heat a space than it did a few years ago, considerably more.
Sandy,
Everything has gone up at Walmart. They used the excuse of the freeze in California to raise the price of orange juice 50%. Eggs are up about 30%. I could go on and on. Have you seen the price of beef these days?
I really feel for the people that have large families. On top of this, president ahole cut food stamps as well as Medicaid. I'll bet the repukes in Congress didn't cut their health care.
a
Marine,
And the chimp mis-administration reports that inflation is under control. What a laugh. What else can we expect from these pathologic liars. I'll bet the crony that is making these reports is a recent Billionaire.
Imagine for a minute that you are in charge of transportation costs for a given state government. Well buddy, you are in a serious mess aren't you. Fuel costs have doubled in only a few years. Where they represented 1/6 of your annual budget just a few years ago, they now make up 1/3. To make matters worse, you as asked to do what you once did with just as much money.
Of course this can't keep up long. You're robbing peter to pay paul. Your vehicles start to break down now, or your facilities go into disrepair, or your highways, and now you'll have to cough up even more money. And guess who will pay in the end? You guessed it, the American taxpayer.
They will be hit once, twice, three, and four or more times by the increased cost of fuel before all is said and done. Remember, there are countless institutions coming to them to make up for what was lost due to the increased cost of fuel.
Talk about living on the edge of wetness. Look to the south, black threatening skies, look to the north, bright sunlit clouds (without the blue sky). Raining on/off with the thunderous rumbling for the back beat.
Michael, Thanks for the group hug. We certainly need it these days.
Marine on June 27, 2007 at 06:00 PM
The cost of rent is increasing due to shortage of rentals units because of people losing their homes to foreclosure.
This nation clearly depends upon fuel nearly as much as it does upon food.
What would we be doing now if the cost of food had doubled and nearly trippled in just a few years?
Don't be surprised if their invoice for entry comes with a brand spankin new chip in the arm to account for these new purchasers of the American way.

Bringing new meaning to the phrase, "Now you see him, and now you don't!"
As if the American worker were not enough for the corporate money monger to trample upon. Now it appears that he would like nothing more than to import additional workers to add to this already vast labor market. Remember, he's a businessman, and in business supply and demand dictate cost. In this case we are of course speaking of the cost of labor.
These heartless individuals couldn't care less where their labor comes from. All they really care about is cost. The less they pay, and the fewer benefits they afford, the happier they are. It's all about increasing that profit margin.

But protestors had other topics on their mind. Their efforts to be heard forced Gonzales to move to a friendlier location for his afternoon news conference.

But with about 100 protestors on hand with a different agenda, the AG decided the environment was too hostile.

KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - A labor shortage that hurt asparagus growers will likely continue as the agriculture industry moves into its busiest months.
Workers who were harvesting asparagus spears recently moved on to the cherry harvest, leaving some asparagus growers to plow up their remaining crop.
Jim Middleton, chairman of the state's asparagus commission, is pulling out 45 of his 180 asparagus acres north of Pasco. He says it is strictly due to a lack of workers.

The way it works is American businesses lure foreign workers into the market to make a greater profit. Once here, those foreign workers slowly become native workers, very slowly. Once they are, and begin to exercise some marginal control over the work environment, those businesses begin to lure other foreign workers.
The old workers then blame the new workers, rather than the businesses who engage in this shady practice.
The wealth business owners benefit, so long as your average American remains ignorant to the scheme.

Hell, let's build a impenetrable wall of barbed wire, minefields and guard towers with machine guns. Shoot to kill is the standing orders for all soldiers.
Hmmm... sounds very much like the Mexican border with Guatemala.

Illegal alien convicts come back less than a month after being ejected from the country.
A very similar situation happens all the time when bleeding heart liberal judges give convicted murders and child molesters light sentences and before you know it they are back out of the street committing the same crimes.
Best way to deal with these CS'ers is a 1oz lead bullet through the brains or a seat in Old Sparky.
"Hangin's too good for 'em!"

Hey Harpo! Or are you a different person named Hasrpo?
Yeah shure, ya betcha, that's me alright. I effed real bad on the spelling of me own name. Don't tell the missus or she'll be cuttin' back on me rum rations.
I have been providing wisdom to the uninformed and wrongly informed on the other thread. DoPeyD said you were over here picking on someone.
Who??? Me??? Nawwwww... just funnin' these rubes a little is all.
Honk honk!

It would take all month to expound on so much. So, it's abbreviated. You are a shining example of too much talk and no action.
Those that are discharged with less than honorable from the Armed Forces, what are the reasons, and percentages? Someone said the underage drinking was a big reason, is it?

It's not pillow talk.
And we'll see if you right or I'm right.
The lefties are pushing hard for a return of the the Fairness Doctrine. The "right side" of the radio world is spreading way too much down the dial and this has them all concerned about nonrepresentational of their views.
Now, how things would work if they get their way is, for every hour of conservative talk program presented on a radio station, a federal law will force management to also schedule an hour of liberal talk.
Since advertisers closely follow the Arbitration ratings as a basis for negotiating the cost of their ads, it reasons that most ads on a station will be played during the "Blue Hours". Liberal talk radio really doesn't have much of a following so listenership falls off dramatically when that tin din starts pouring out of the box.
Of course, radio hosts get paid bases on the amount of ad money their shows generate so we will expect to see some mightily down-in-the-mouth looking cars parked way in the back of station lots, well away from the gleaming high-dollar polished machines of the better-paid conservative hosts parked near the doors.
Oh yes, one more thought on this if I may... if the Fairness Doctrine does become law again, this will cause a huge uproar at NPR and all of it's affiliates and in order to achieve a balance of political views, they will have to lay off 50% of their staff.
Bummer, eh?

Lester, you are asking a lot of rather specific questions of a rather unsophisticated audience. Do you think these dolts have such figures at their fingertips?
Do your own homework. I know... when you get all the answers to these questions, publish them is the form of one of your infamous Word Jumbles. Those are always so much fun for the gang!
Gas prices are hurting me quite badly. I have a 58 mile round trip to school and work, and I drive a grand cherokee. And believe me, I hate SUV's. I only drive this one because it had a bad transmission and the owner didn't want to pay to fix it, so he dumped it off on me for a grand and I put a used trans in it. The increase in fuel prices are such that I have to go find a new job, very heart-wrenchingly so, as I work at a place that I've been dreaming of working at since I was twelve. It's called Corvettes of Dallas, and I am the envy of all my mechanic friends.
That being said, we are putting the blame for gas prices in the wrong place. Exxon Mobil makes around 8 cents per gallon of gasoline sold, while our government takes about 50 cents a gallon. Aside from removing taxes to lower our gas prices, we could also increase supply and allow basic economic rules to take effect. Alaska has more oil than Saudi Arabia, but environmentalist groups wont let us drill up there, even though we have the equipment to travel there on ice roads and set up fully automated equipment leaving almost no trace of human activity. Don't sue OPEC, just make your own crude and boycott them. We could also use some fresh refineries to boost our refined fuel supplies, seeing as the last one was built about thirty years ago, but why would an oil company invest money in a nation that is trying to drive them out?
I want to lower gas prices as badly as the rest of you, but legislation won't do anything, and demand won't significantly fall until the baby-boomers start retiring. I don't want to wait that long. The only sensible way to do it is to increase supply.
