Democrats in Congress Implement the 9/11 Commission

The Democratic Congress passed legislation today to make the country safer by implementing the recommendations of the 9-11 Commission. Governor Dean issued the following statement:
"Today Democrats did what President Bush and Republicans refused to do: implement the recommendations of the 9-11 Commission to make our country more secure. While President Bush and his Republican allies ignored the bipartisan 9-11 Commission recommendations, choosing instead to focus on Iraq, Al Qaeda began to rebuild and Osama bin Laden remains on the loose," Dean said. "But today Democrats delivered on their promise to protect America by passing these homeland security measures despite previous attempts by Republicans to block it every step of the way. It's no wonder that Americans trust Democrats more than Republicans to keep them safe."

I Love you Howard, and I love the Democratic Majority.
Here's to many more on November 2008!!
Keep seeking solutions Dems! The more they try to stop it the more out of touch they will become. The people in this country are watching.
The House of Representatives passed the conference report on implementing the 9/11 commission recommendations with a large, bi-partisan vote. This is a major accomplishment for Congress led by the Democrats. To hold Congress in 2008, mainstream voters needs to see a lot more of these bi-partisan successes on issues affecting our daily lives. And Democratic leaders need to keep the media focussed on these bi-partisan successes. Unfortunately, many Democrats just don't understand marketing 101. As as example, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was on the House floor a few minutes before the final vote. She barely had 30 seconds to say how the bill would benefit universities in her district. Fifteen minutes later, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was on "Hardball" with Chris Matthews. To promote the Democratic "brand", she should have talked about passing the 9/11 commission conference report with a broad, bi-partisan vote....something mainstream voters care deeply about. Instead, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee talked about why she believes that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is a bad guy...an inside the beltway, party-politics topic that mainstream voters don't care about.
I "ditto" Pammy's thoughts!!
GO DEMS!!
