Ron Paul Is Better Positioned Than McCain, and Romney?

ABC News is reporting that third tier candidate Ron Paul has more cash on hand after the second quarter than John McCain. It should be noted that without a large infusion of cash ($9 million dollars) from Mitt Romney, Ron Paul would have almost as much cash as two of the Republican front runners.

He may even have outraised Fred Thompson, but we may not know immediately since Thompson is trying to skirt the campaign finance laws he helped write by not reporting his donors on July 15th.

Very interesting, especially the comments on the ABC blog article (the first link).

Dr. Paul is resonating the Republican grassroots the same way Dean struck ours. I'm forced to admit, that he's one Republican who's the closest to earning my respect. I hope he does well, he says a lot of things that need to be said.

Ron Paul is resonating with a lot of the population, but use caution with some of his principles you may not be aware of. He ran on the Libertarian Party in 1988, and if you are familiar with the Libertarian Party, know they have some very, very weird ideas of how this country should run.

Ron Paul is advocating the deletion of the IRS. Now with no steady tax base coming into the government, how many of those services we enjoy would get eliminated? Libertarians are for NO social programs.

Ron Paul is a STRONG anti abortionist. Be prepared to see a fight to get rid of Roe v Wade should he get in, along with the Right Wing SCOTUS.

So watch, look, listen to what each and every Candidate is saying (and not saying). Do not be taken in by hearing some things that are pleasing to you, without seeing what the trade off may be.

Stephanopolous made a bet with Paul yesterday on his show that he would never become Pres of the US.

We need to rally around Ron Paul even if he is a Republican because he has the best view for Americans. He wants to get rid of the IRS and the Federal Reserve Bank. I believe if you did a poll on these issues if Americans wanted these organizations or CARTELS as I like to call them abolished, you would see an overwhelming number of people interested in just that. NO MORE INCOME TAXES AND NO MORE MONITARY SYSTEM/ He wants to return the wealth to the American people. What is more Democratic than that? RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT 2008. HE IS RAISING THAT MUCH MONEY BECAUSE HE IS THE TRUE PEOPLE'S CHAMP!!!!

You liberterians always SAY you want to do away with federal taxes, but you never say how you intend to pay for defense. Would you mind letting the rest of us in your little secret? NO defense is not an option. Neither is allowing certain states to go back to segregation, ignore civil rights legislation... How do you propose to ensure everyone's constitutional rights are being upheld? (Including black and gay people)

It's called a sales tax and a tariff people! Prior to the 16th Amendment the US grew dramatically without a Federal income tax! Sales and imports were taxed. A large national sales tax and tariffs for revenue are much better ways of running this country than an income tax(you can't even deduct legitimate amounts for college tuition!). An income tax rewards hedonism and laziness. A national sales tax and tariffs against Chinese goods will reward hard work and punish degeneracy to straighten America out. The other candidates, especially your Hillary and Obama, have Communist sympathies when it comes to totalitarian, mafia like, labor Unions.

And oh yeah, believe me the authorities, the lawyers that run labor unions, do from time to time resort to death threats just like the Chinese. Your Kennedy family resorts to intimidation all the time.
