Rural Voters Becoming Disillusioned With Republicans

Posted by Ramzi Takla on July 13, 2007 at 05:39 PM

A recent poll administered by the Center for Rural Strategies indicates that rural voters are no longer a lock-in for Republicans:

The study indicates that negative views about the Bush administration, the war in Iraq, and the economy are eroding the Republican party's rural base.

Surprised? You shouldn’t be. Even traditionally Republican voters are becoming disillusioned with the Bush administration’s failed policies. Iraq remains a particular sore spot:

While a narrow majority [of rural voters] oppose the war, nearly 60 percent are close to someone serving or who has served in the fighting. This is not a "television war" for rural families.

Unlike Republicans, Democrats continue to fight for real issues affecting average Americans, including a sensible conclusion to the war in Iraq, which makes rural America "as politically competitive as any region in the country right now." Democrats are on the right track as we approach 2008.

The rural vote is critical for the republicans in presidential elections. Rural voters are solid on their conservative beliefs, but they are definitely sensitive to the national mood which is tilting heavily against the current administration. As many republicans on Capitol Hill become more critical of this administration, rural voters take note. The most critical issue is the war in Iraq, and if Republicans lose faith in President Bush, then no apperant candidate, can save the day for the Republicans. The shift in rural voters mood is a harbinger of a Democratic sweep. The question is what will the Democrats do out of it? Who can restore America's reputation in the World, and bring good sense to national politics?

Though it may be difficult to sway the rural voters towards the dems when it comes to social issues, the democratic candidates could definitely gain a leg up on the republicans by focusing some of their campaigns towards rural populations. Rural America may end up being a political battleground that could decide the election.

Here’s a clue for the Democratic Party. I’m a rural American, and a working class person, and I’m becoming just as disillusioned with the Democratic Party, as with the republicans.

Why? Because you moron’s keep trying to give my tax money away to all these illegal alien thieves we have in this country.

I heard Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama at some racist Hispanic rights group the other night on CNN claiming your give away America Comprehensive Immigration Bill was defeated because of a wave of hate.

And since the Democratic Leadership doesn’t get that these people are racists, let me explain it to them. These Hispanic groups aren’t working for black, Italian, Chinese, or Moslem immigrants; they are only working for Hispanics! And they are not fighting for the legal rights of legal immigrants; they are fighting to get crap for their law breaking, tax cheating illegal Hispanic relatives!

You are right! As a working class person, I hate paying taxes so some tax cheating businessmen can hire cheap labor, and not pay his taxes. I hate paying taxes so your Hispanic law breaking, tax cheating friends can get free medical, while I don’t get it!

I hate providing free schooling for these losers, when Americans, (You know those people you are supposed to be working for), need to take a second mortgage on their house to send their kids to school.

I hate it when some loser like Ted Kennedy says these fence jumpers; take jobs we wont take. This piece of privileged garbage has never worked an honest days work in his life, and has no idea how the illegal trash he wants to help, screws the average working person.

I hate it when my elected officials want to help people from other countries before they help us!

The way I see it, both the Republican, and Democratic Parties are traitors to the American working class. All you pieces of dirt have sold us out to Mexico, big business, corporate America, and China!

And If I had my way, we would treat you traitors the way all traitors should be treated.

Disillusioned with republicans you say?

Here’s a clue for you dumbacrats! I hope some independent runs for president next election. Why? Because I’m tired of you traitors selling me out to Mexico, China, and WalMarts!
