Second Tier Party In Iowa!

Posted by Mike Gehrke on July 2, 2007 at 05:33 PM

Come on down to the second-tier party! Everyone's invited to take pot shots at flip-flopper Mitt Romney:

Participants in a Des Moines forum included several of the crowded field’s lesser-known candidates, some of whom took subtle jabs at former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the Iowa leader in recent polls of GOP caucusgoers.

“I did not become pro-life because of politics,” former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told the more than 600 GOP stalwarts at the forum put on by Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance.

The comment echoed former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson’s comment earlier: “I didn’t become right-to-life on the road to Des Moines.”

“Conservatism doesn’t need an adjective. It needs a leader,” U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo said. “It needs a leader who will oppose abortions, not just because Iowa caucusgoers oppose abortions.”

Also participating in the forum were Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback and U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter of California.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Arizona Sen. John McCain were absent from the forum.

Senator Brownback is not fit to be president. He sponsored a romance law that represents a haunting reincarnation of a Nazi law enacted in 1935 that required background checks before 2 people could marry... to prevent Jews from marrying German women.

Brownback's sinister romance law allows the government to interfere with the universal right of an American citizen to say "hello" to a women in a foreign country without first submitting criminal and personal information before they can communicate by e mail, fax or telephone. Additional background checks (similar to the German law)are required before the couple can marry.

Senator Brownback sponsored the UNCONSTITUTIONAL "International Romance Regulation Act" with the ultra liberal Senator Cantwell (D-WA)based on emotional hysteria portraying American men who marry foreign women as serial rapists and wife beaters.

There is not one shred of scientific evidence demonstrating foreign brides are abused to any notable degree.

Senator Brownback has been (quietly) embracing radical feminist ideology to attract the feminist vote not realizing these are very radical feminists who aren't going to vote for his conservative views anyways... Meanwhile he alientates himself from moderate conservative males.
