2 Years Later
Two years after Hurricane Katrina, we remember those individuals who lost their lives.
And we won't forget the response -- because we can't let it happen again.

Some people have said the lazy no good people waited for the Government to get them out and now are waiting for the Government to rebuild their homes and clean up the scum left.
Some say why did those people in the towers wait for the policemen and firemen to get them out, instead of walking out as soon as they felt the quake of the planes hitting the buildings? There was no need for all the policemen and fireman to die?
We can always complain instead of helping our fellow man
He's a regular party animal...no wonder he loves New Orleans, but not enough to fix it.
We haven't forgotten that while an American city drowned the Chimp president eat cake at McWindVane's bday party.
Impeach the Chimp
Impeach the Shooter
Impeach them all
Bring the troops home now
We'll have to fix it, and ensure that it never happens again.
The Republicans under Bush will never fix anything for the American People.
Let's get started now!
Impeach Bush/Cheney!!!

The insurance industry has always had a sleazy side. It is just that when the Democrats controlled the regulatory and law enforcement agencies, the government usually stepped in and forced companies to own up to their responsibilities. But, since 2000, everything from property and casualty to auto to healthcare insurance has been completely unregulated. The insurance companies basically do whatever they feel like knowing that people who are in need are not in a position to contest payouts either due to lack of legal representation or the lack of money. Without the threat of government injunctions and property seizures, the insurers know they have free reign because the DOJ and the courts are now controlled by ideologues who don't care one bit for anyone that won't pay them off.
Frankly, after listening to how things have been handled after Katrina and how things are handled in many Third World countries (the corruption, the divide between those who have power and those that don't and the sense of self-righteousness of the wealthy), I have decided that the United States has become a banana republic.
There is nothing special about this nation anymore.
