How Much Time Did Rudy Giuliani Spend At Ground Zero?

Rudy Giuliani is running for the Republican presidential nomination based on the fact that he was mayor of New York during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. But he has angered rescue and recovery workers by comparing his experience to theirs.

Most recently he claimed that he was at the site "as often, if not more" than most recovery workers, and that his long hours at the site exposed him to "every health consequence that people have suffered."

So...

...how much time did Mayor Giuliani spend at ground zero?

A complete record of Mr. Giuliani’s exposure to the site is not available for the chaotic six days after the attack, when he was a frequent visitor. But an exhaustively detailed account from his mayoral archive, revised after the events to account for last-minute changes on scheduled stops, does exist for the period of Sept. 17 to Dec. 16, 2001. It shows he was there for a total of 29 hours in those three months, often for short periods or to visit locations adjacent to the rubble. In that same period, many rescue and recovery workers put in daily 12-hour shifts.

During those months, many firefighters worked weeks of consecutive 12-hour shifts on the rubble pile, interrupted only by nights sleeping on the floor of a nearby church.

Someone at DNC should have analyzed Rudy's style by now and we should know how to combat it. He will keep saying the same inane thing over and over again until people believe it - stop him in his tracks now!

The DNC and Democratic Candidates should be hammering home via media, blogs, letters to editors, etc., etc., until EVERYONE knows that the man is using 9/11 to say that he has foreign policy experience - he is absurd! Rudy's stacking up to be a front-runner, because he keeps talking about how he accidentally happened to be mayor of NYC on 9/11-that's essentially a stupid reason to vote for anyone for president. I was at a wedding in NYC two weeks before 9/11 - should I also run for president? Get real!

The truth is coming out about Rudy Giuliani for the liar that he really is. Giuliani is no hero!
Giuliani’s attempt at mollifying the outrage over his attempt to tie himself to 9/11 rescue workers didn’t satisfy many of his critics:

Let Giuliani tell his lies and win his party's nomination. Then for the general election, he can be exposed and be easily defeated.

just more of what i said about rudy being no beter than an ambulance chaser. during the 9/11 aftemath, i saw no real leader, i saw a guy great at photo ops. in a time of crisis, a ral leader doesn't ride on a fire truck to get his picture taken, his hands are just as dirty as the next guys. bravo to all the WTC real heros

29 hours at ground 0. How many hours was Hillary there? Or Kerry?

There is a very important reason for the two questions. And how you answer will show how Dems think. So when you tell me how many hours Kerry and Hillary was there, I will tell you the correct answer and the reason why 29 hours at ground 0 could have been enough or possibly too much.
