Dean: Republicans Choose President Bush Over Our Troops

"President Bush is at it again, spinning the facts to try to sell his failed stay the course strategy in Iraq. Republicans continue to block Democratic efforts to change course, ignoring the American people as they extend this war inevitably.

"Yesterday, Senate Republicans blocked legislation to give our troops time between deployments to prepare, train, and recover from their service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our brave men and women in uniform and their families are strained to the brink, yet Republicans continue to choose President Bush's failed Iraq policy over the well-being of our troops. This is unconscionable. Democrats will continue to fight to bring an end to this war and bring our troops home safely but until Republicans' votes and criticism of Bush's Iraq policy match up, we need to work to elect a Democratic president to put an end to Bush's war."
