John McCain

Three Surrender from "No Surrender" Campaign

John McCain loses even more staff...

As he launches his "No Surrender" tour defending his staunch support for the war in Iraq, John McCain faces continued staff turmoil.

Three aides in McCain's national political department have resigned in recent days, nearly depleting an already-thinned out element of the Arizonan's campaign and again raising questions about whether he has the organization to compete for the GOP nod.

I guess nobody on McCain’s campaign agrees any longer with his stand on continuing the Iraqi occupation till Kingdom Come...just like everyone else in the country besides the die hard 32% of Bush's apologists.

Why is McCain so worried about bruising Bush's pride? He made the mistake. Quite making excuses to keep it going or you're going to lose all your staff.

McCain understood at least why and that torture and abuse are deadwrong and intolerable and that stuff like Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo must be stopped right away and he got the McCain Detainee Amendment passed, which is a good startpoint for improving some of the grievances the Bush Administration has gotten us into but in many other things, he is quite a typical Republican.

Despite McCains undeniable merits on getting torture and prisoner abuse stopped, I would never vote for any Republican and there are many aspects of McCains policy that are pretty conservative and Bush-like, I must say.
