PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich questioned President Bush's mental health in light of comments he made about a nuclear Iran precipitating World War III.
"I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health," Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board on Tuesday. "There's something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact."
Kucinich, known for his liberal views, trails far behind the leading candidates in most Democratic polls. He was in Philadelphia for a debate at Drexel University.
Bush made the remarks at a news conference earlier this month.
He said: "I've told people that if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them (Iran) from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."
Kucinich said he doesn't believe his comments about the president's mental health are irresponsible, according to a story posted on the newspaper's Web site.
"You cannot be a president of the United States who's wanton in his expression of violence," Kucinich said. "There's a lot of people who need care. He might be one of them. If there isn't something wrong with him, then there's something wrong with us. This, to me, is a very serious question."
In response, Republican National Committee spokesman Dan Ronayne said it was hard to take Kucinich seriously.

This is the good news.
TEL-AVIV, October 24 (Itar-Tass) - Russia has decided to refuse from supplies of nuclear fuel to Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said, the Haaretz newspaper reported on Wednesday. According to the report, Olmert spoke at a meeting with representatives of the Jewish community in London about his talks in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I can disclose some details of my meeting with Russian President Putin last week (October 18). Russia decided not to supply nuclear fuel to Iran, despite all statements and rumours. Russia realises the entire significance of its decision (on this issue) and understands that the international community expects it not to supply nuclear fuel,” the newspaper quoted the Israeli prime minister.
Olmert also stressed the importance of toughening of sanctions against Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

This is the bad news. Our MSM did not report this story of how bush and cheney keep screwing Russia so the cold war will start again.
Russia's Izvestia Reports:
WASHINGTON, October 30 - RIA Novosti, Arkady Orlov.
Two Americans, Republican Congressman Dana Rorabaker and Democrat Congressman Brad Sherman said Tuesday at a hearing in Congress that the United States themselves through their actions caused a wave of anti-government sentiment in Russia and undermined the Russian-American relations.
Thank you President Ahole and Vice President Double Ahole. You are purposely and with malice trying to start WWIII.
Subcommittee Chairman also stressed that its policy of Washington has left Russia with little incentive to hold on for relations with the United States. "We have done everything possible to create animosity in the relationship with the Russian state," said Sherman.
In doing so, he recalled the preservation of American foreign trade restrictive legislation "Vanik amendment" and other complexities in the relations between the United States and Russia, including "the constant tension between the international law of self-determination, on the one hand, and territorial integrity of the other."
In his speech, deputy chairman of the subcommittee on International Organizations and Human Rights Congressman Dana Rorabaker also said that "the Russians have every reason to be dissatisfied with the United States and our actions since the fall of communism."
In doing so, he cited the example of the continuing application of restrictive foreign trade "Vanik amendment" against Russia while the United States lifted all trade restrictions on China.
In China, no opposition parties, no protests in the streets, no freedom of religion, and they are one of the biggest violators of human rights and yet we give them preferential treatment in trade, but did not release Russia from the amendment Dzheksona- Vannick, despite the fact that they (Russian) work much better than China in all these fields, "said an American Congressman.
The Russian government must act on the basis that best meet their own interests in the long run. And if that includes the use of oil as a "lever" or earning more money for their society when oil is not enough, why do we expect that they will act on another? " asked a question Rorabaker colleagues, calling stock of the foreign policy actions of the United States, which have worsened because of Russian-American relations.
"We did wrong ... we pushed the Russians in the wrong direction," said Congressman.
So what else is new!

Evening gregg,
I can't believe that gun club was flying a confederate flag in New York of all places. Maybe cheney is planning another civil war.
Posted by Johnedwrd on October 30, 2007 at 09:11 PM
i think they just wanted to make cheney feel the way he does in the bunker surrounded by his confederacy memorabilia while wearing his david duke t-shirt. interestingly it seems the south is very poor, the educational system is failing miserably and white kids are often off in christian schools learning about how adam and eve had pterodactyls for pets and the african american kids in public schools that lack books and qualified teachers. and make no mistake this is how bush and cheney and the rest of their pig farm would like all of us to live. but their day is coming to an end and it will be our turn soon. hahahahaha

The US has revealed that it has spent $43.5bn (£21bn) on intelligence during 2007, the first time the figure has been made public in almost a decade.
The 2007 sum, split among 16 agencies, is almost double what was spent in 1997 and 1998, the last budgets made public.
So President Ahole is spending $43,5 billion for intelligence in 2007, double what was spent in 1998 or about $20 billion.
Yet President Ahole is too damn cheap to spend $5 billion in one year on our children.
President Ahole is a heartless PRICK of the first magnitude.

Good evening Dems.
Here is a fine example of a Democrat with a backbone...
Preemption by virtue of international law is illegal. Our president has already violated international law. The war in Iraq is illegal. Even planning for war against Iran is illegal.Tim, we're here in Philadelphia, the birthplace of democracy. I want to know when this Democratic Congress is going to stand up for the constitution and hold the president accountable with Article 2, Section 4 an impeachment act.
I think our democracy is in peril, and unless the Democrats and the Congress stand up for the constitution we are going to lose our country.
We need to challenge him on this war, but we need to challenge him at his core. And the core is there needs to be a separation of powers, a balance of powers. Things are out of balance.
It is time for us to stand up for the constitution of the United States of America.

It's Harpo, from the party of Delay, Ney, Cunningham, and Foley. One of these days he will face the facts, and get help. Until then, we can laugh at the angry drunk. He listens to Rush, quotes Coulter, and says disgusting things on the DNC board. It just shows that he's living in a sorry sheltered world. Let him live in his dillusions. If he doesn't know that W stands for Worst ever, then he is not capable of understaning facts. And he's certainly not in touch with main stream America.

watched the end of the debate. edwards and obama were pounding hillary about whether or not she supported spitzer's undocumented worker driver license idea ( beating up on new york democrats as a way to get the nomination )...the two guys were having great fun and tweety and pumpkin head were piling on as well. they should call lazio and ask him about that technique and how it worked for him in 00.

NOTICE TO ALL CANDIDATES: (or people working their campaigns)
The 30 second lightning rounds are designed by MSM (main stream media) to get you talking faster (frenzied?), it is a ploy to unnerve you and show you in a poor light on camera. Demand a stop to that type of questioning. If you have to participate again say that you cannot answer the question in 30 seconds and refer people to your website for the answer.
Why do so many people fall for repubs? The average IQ is 100 (bell curve and all), repub candidates are only slightly higher in IQ and their rhetoric can be understood by the many. It is difficult for the populace to understand the gifted. (I, personally, have a very hard time reading Chomsky)
ERGO: Slow it down, make it more brief, create a mental list of concise answers and don't try to tell everything that you know. A solid strongly worded phrase that everyone can understand and identify with will be remembered and admired over several "rushed" paragraphs that try to tell all that you know.
Repetition is also the key. "Put Social Security in a lock box" "Healthcare for all Americans" "Funding for Alternative energy" "End our dependence on fossil fuels" etc. Use your own...but keep repeating them.

Hillary Clinton won the debate tonight. John Edwards and Senator Obama I have say did focus too much on making personal attacks against Hillary rather than talking more about dealing with the issues which was a complete turn off to me. I did think it was wrong to block former Senator Mike Gravel from the debate even if you don't agree with him he still should've been given a chance to speak at the debate. As far as the debate on MNSBC goes Hillary showed herself to be the strongest and most qualified leader.

What gets to me is how Senator Obama tried to attack Hillary Clinton for her vote on the war yet over the summer Obama made a fool out of himself when he said he would consider military action against Pakistan. That's not how you bring friends to the table by saying things like that. Hillary without a doubt makes a stronger leader.
Posted by DemocratKickingAss on October 30, 2007 at 11:49 PM
The debate was really good. It was a lively debate. I liked them all. It seems that Hillary and Obama had more time to talk. Edwards was really, REALLY good. He the type of person that would swing the Southern states blue, and do good out West. Richardson is the same way. Gov Richardson would do well in the South, and could win all Texas' electoral votes. Dems win in a landslide.
Biden was good too. Too bad he's from a nothing state. He's very smart. He's the kind of person I'd like to see on the Supreme Court. Too bad he's another white male. He would make an excellent Supreme Court Justice. He some great zingers on Rudy, "the most unqualified ever... all he uses in a verb, a noun and 9/11." LOL.
I made the comment earlier that Obama didn't pass the honesty test about the "uniter" claim. I have good reason for making this claim. Tonight, Obama attempted verify this claim, but failed. When pointing to his work in the Illinois State Senate, he tried to take credit for the death row reforms. Nope. Senate Leader Emil Jones (D) and Democrats control the Senate, so it didn't take a "uniter." The IL Senate Democrats can pass anything they want. Besides, it was the Republican Gov who was facing jail, and made the Executive Order to redeem his image, character, and polling.
And we all know that Fiengold and McCain came together for campaign finance, so that was not his work as a "uniter." Let's face it, the whole "uniter" thing is more code for talking nice and making deals with republicans, rather than having excellent negotiating skills. Every politician in the US Senate is a skilled negotiator. And if Obama was a uniter as he claims, he would've helped the Senate atleast pass one close vote. But that hasn't happened. It certainly appears that Obama is more rhetoric than experience or accomplishments.
One thing for certain, any of the Democrats who do better than any of the republicans. it's interesting to see that already Romney and Rudy are taking on Hillary for not having Executive management experience. I saw that coming.
Like Gov Richardson pointed out: 7 of our last 8 Presidents had Executive experiene. This makes a really good case for Richardson or Gore. We all know that they twist Senate votes, AND sadly we cant count on the media doesn't sort out the facts from the chaff. I continue to believe that it's very important to have Executive experience in a candidate profile. But what do I know... I'm just the 800 lbs dog in the room. :-P

It has gotten our country in some real messes.
Now our Democratic leaders are joining with right wing groups and GOP leaders to fix a Social Security program that doesn't need the GOP kind of fixing.

Rangel Offering Broad Tax Plan, and Big Target
By STEVEN R. WEISMAN
Published: October 31, 2007
WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 — When the Democratic chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee proposed a sweeping overhaul of the tax code last week, aimed at shifting more of the burden of taxation to the wealthy, Democrats were lukewarm and Republicans loosed a fusillade of attacks.

Economic Scene: Plain Truth About Taxes and Cuts
But even as Democrats ran for cover and Republicans fired away, the proposal by the chairman, Charles B. Rangel of New York, gave shape to the debate over one of the biggest issues facing the next administration: whether to keep President Bush’s tax cuts in place or roll them back.
“What Rangel has done is put out a coherent plan,” said Robert E. Rubin, who was Treasury secretary under President Bill Clinton and is now chairman of the executive committee at Citigroup. “You may like it, you may not like it. But it starts a discussion.”
In general, the Democratic presidential candidates have made clear that they intend to reverse Mr. Bush’s income tax reductions for upper-income people and use the additional revenue to pay for health care and other domestic programs. But they have not put forward detailed tax plans of the sort offered by Mr. Rangel.
His bill would increase tax rates on the wealthy; eliminate the alternative minimum tax, which is increasingly raising tax bills for many middle- and upper-income people; provide additional breaks for low- and middle-income households; and overhaul corporate taxes by reducing rates while tightening tax breaks...

I have just reviewed the Chicago debate, and I am very disappointed at how Democrats can be so critical of other democrats. It almost like they are being paid by the opposition (Republicans).
At a time when we should be together, we are ripping each other apart. I realize that the office of the President is a very coveted position, but we are allowing ( the candidates to load the republican wagon with rocks and boulders) to use during the general election. There is a way to debate and disagree, without character assassination, and republican gutter tactics.
I admire Senators Obama and Edwards, but they belittle themselves, and the Party as a whole by the petty attacks they are making against Senator Clinton. It is time for each candidate to stop attacking the others and focus on WHAT MAKES THEM A BETTER CANDIDATE. The American public has long grown tired of the attack the leader mentality. Tell us what make you better, not what makes the leader, whoever that might be, worse. Whatever happened to statesmanship.

The Debates
Obama on one side and Edwards on the other with Hillary in the middle.
Obama/Edwards on the soft attack - Hillary verbalizing alot of noncommitals. Poor Richardson and Kucinich on the fringe edges begging for a question.
Now just what was that gathering of candidates??? Not a debate I assure you. In actuallity only Kucinich/Richardson gave answers with substance. Everyone else just tap danced around words.
But then as someone said last night, "What does it matter".
All in reality

On television the candidate stated that "Americans are becoming fatter and stupider a", and in an interview with a correspondent for RIA "Novosti" without mincing said that there is no democracy in the United States and, in general, it remained only in Switzerland.

What is wrong with Richardson does he want to be a Clinton puppet? Wanting it so much that he is positioning himself for a VP position. I am afraid he would be like Cheney without power, or influence like a flat tire. We need a Constitutional person in that position not a Clinton puppet. Why is he against opening up the debate, does he think Clinton owns the Royal Democrats of the military industrial complex? He would be in third place in the White House behind Hillary and Bill.
I am proud that the Democrats are taking up issues, but in the debates it still is a Hillary dominated show, we need to bring in equality in the debate with all parties getting equal time. The media is choosing its favorite candidates. Maybe the other candidates need to sue the media Mongols to get equal air time, after all it is not Hillary time yet.
Hillary you still did not show US anything but Obama finally came out swinging and Edwards rocked. But the debate kept the others on the sidelines per Clinton's strategy. If you would take all candidates and put them beside Bush, Hillary would still be the closest stuck with glue. How somebody so despised as Bush can be emulated in the Democratic Party. Hillary untie the umbilical cord to the Bushes, and show US the real Hillary if you dare. This secret closet door that herself from the public streets is terrible, her fashion statement are in line with a moderate corporate Republican of the 1930's. Remember when corporations were kings and the workers the sweat shop slaves, well now we outsource our 1930's work environment overseas polluting their lands and paying them as selfs while Mattel CEO of lead paint live with 5000% or more higher wages. Mattel CEO who will apologize to Red China but not to our children and their health concerns. I think it is time for a Grinch Christmas and payback time for Mattel Red Chinese policy. Hillary stand up for our children and demand better products inspections.
Under Bush's 1930's policies we are again under attack of pollution, global warming, lead poisoning, sweat shop clothing, working slaves, below minimum survival wages, and children working 80 hours for our American CEO Royal class. We have corporate spying like in the 1930's when they "At Will" invaded workers home and sometimes banned them to speak out or communicate. Yes today our outsoursed workers are intimidated into silence or else they will be terminated.
Yes, I am aware of intimidating workers, they banned me from writing and posting and then terminated me for Poetry. Yes, in Alabama Mercedes has "At Will" to ban you in your own home. They have all kind of unwritten policy that allows they to terminate a worker for Poetry.
