Good News for Democrats

Yesterday's election brought a lot of victories, which means good news for the country.
Democrat Steve Beshear won the Kentucky governorship, and in Virginia Democrats made gains in the state House and gained control of the state Senate. In Mississippi, Democrats took back control of the State Senate and won the attorney general seat.
It's the momentum we need heading into 2008, but we're not going to take anything for granted. As Governor Dean said in his statement today, we're going to keep mobilizing voters in all 50 states.
Still, thanks for helping us build the party in every state. You make these gains possible.

Congrats to the winners in Blue. :-)
I happy we're ahead. Such winnings makes me glad that Harry Reid, my senator, is on Nevada's side as well as the democrats side. Good Job Dems!

It's a start, but we've still got a long way to go.
We sure don't need any any Blue Dog Republicans or their ilk to knife that party in the back, when so much needs to be done.
If it says it's a duck and smells like a skunk, it ain't a duck.
I see the topic is good news and I notice the theme is 'kicking ass'. Well, after Feinstein's vote to approve torture and the general spineless approach to AG nominee, I feel like mine was kicked. I have been a democrat (notice the past tense) for the past forty years and voted in every election. I can no longer support the new democratic agenda. When did we become corporatists, cowards and fearful about defending the constitution. I remember being angry with friends who voted for Nadar but I think I get why they did now. I am so disappointed.
Lost i hear what you're saying but the best way to turn this around is to vote for progressives that's the key.
The progressives are no longer welcome in the democratic party. Clinton is the nominee. Private health insurance will be required much like auto insurance. This will continue to remove the scarce resources from the middle class. I spend part of the year in Europe and cannot believe the health care system we have been sold. Socialized medicine works. I have used it. Gasoline prices have hit five dollars in California. Minimum wage workers cannot afford to go to work. As I said, I am looking and will probably go green in the next election. I don't think it is throwing my vote away. It will send a message. In the Bay area we have another choice this time. Sheehan is running and while I am not sure she is playing with a full deck, it does let Pelosi know some of us are not happy with her approach to politics as usual. Of course the real dream is two countries--red and blue.
