Posted by Kombiz Lavasany on November 29, 2007 at 12:55 PM
Today through Saturday, the Democratic Party will hold its annual fall meeting in Vienna, Virginia. On Friday, November 30, the Democratic presidential candidates, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Colorado Governor Bill Ritter will address the crowd.
I'll be there covering the meeting, bringing you updates from inside. More than 400 DNC members are expected to attend, plus journalists and bloggers covering the event.

I wish you well and a successful meeting. Everyone is working so hard, maybe your meeting will prod the few that don't work for our party to start and also contribute money for our partys well being. God Bless the truth and stop the lies.

Let us know how the 50 state strategy is progressing.

Funny the media never gives Dean credit for taking back the House AND the Senate. Remember how polls right up to the election kept saying "maybe Dems can take back the House? It's a long shot." We clobbered them. We took Congress.
THANK GOV DEAN & the 50 State Strategy for getting the Party, and the country, back on track.
I'd really like to see resolutions focused on e-voting reform. I care about OUR democracy, not Iraq's. And I don't want another theft like 2000 and 2004. ANSWER: VOTE BY MAIL!

I'm new to this website, and trying to get a feel for where you guys are coming from... I hear things like "we're back on track since we took back the Senate!" and "I care about OUR democracy, not Iraq's."
Well, all arguing and bickering aside, let's be real for a moment. The senate, since the Democrats took over, hasn't really done anything. I'm by no means calling the Republicans saints, but there was so much commotion about, "allright! Dem's have it back!" and... well... what have they accomplished?
As for not caring about Iraq's democracy, I think that's a bit naive and ignorant. Should we care about N. Korea's government, Syria's governement, or Iran's? The answer is yes. Governments run the country, essentially, and if the dictator or leader is a nut-job or dangerous, that CAN affect us.
Even if a countries government doesn't directly affect us, it affects their people. If we don't have any compassion, then we're in a real struggle. We get so caught up in our own lives, we forget we're in a "Safety Bubble". There are some large concerns out there, and without a real answer for them, we should stop bickering and get out of the way. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Please.

I watched on c-span 2 and liked the format very much. Far more revealing than the useless "debates". I was only disappointed that Hilary, Chris Dodd and Mike Gravel weren't there as well.
Will there be transcripts of the candidates speeches available for download?

Airborn, we are the only compassionate group! You noticed in 2000 Bush said he was the compassionate conserative. Yet his compassion started and ended with the very wealthy. Giving his contributers no bit, contracts in Iraq. And giving the very wealthy tax cuts during War time (first time in History that a President didn't have all the people sacrifice something?), during War Time. As we see the Economy is in the pits because of Bush's buddy system. Bush has made some people very, very rich and some very, very poor. Yet he cut Government assistence to finance Education, Health care, welfare, and aid to wounded veterns health and assistance.
We MUST have a Democrat in the WhiteHouse this time to bring back compassion and conserative Government. The GOP will say they will, just like Bush said in 2000 but he lied many times to the people and the military.
Be careful to judge by the past four presidents and remember which one paid down the National debt and had a surplus when Bush lied and cheated his way into the WhiteHouse.
