Kicking Ass: The Democratic Party's Blog

Last Week?

Posted by Michael Link on December 4, 2007 at 10:38 AM

An odd moment from Bush's press conference came when he claimed that he learned of the new intelligence assessment last week that Iran stopped its nuclear weapons program back in 2003.

The Bush claim seems to directly contradict the Washington Post story indicating that he "had first been told about fresh indications that Iran had actually halted its nuclear weapons program" months ago. And NSA Adviser Steven Hadley said the president was notified of new information about it "in the last few months."

The discrepancy matters because Bush has, during the last couple months, claimed Iran was "pursuing" technology that could be used for nuclear weapons.

Bush was pathetic in his news conferance today. It was clear the press didn't trust him and kept quoting other nations and the people of our nation that made statements showing doubt of his honesty and hinting he used scare tactics? It is clear people don't trust Bush and haven't for a long time. Yet, he continued to add more lies to the already long list of lies assigned to his expressions. The House and Senate Gop members are afraid to oppose Bush. I can not understand this since he is a lame duck and people have such a low oppenion of President Bush? I don't understand the reasoning on the GOP elected officials supporting Bush? What in the world do they hope to gain? The GOP canadidates are beginning to lie to the tune of Bush. Don't they know the people know better than to believe the GOP's statements?

Bush is still following the directions of his neocon masters and not facing reality. That is why he continually lies to all who foolishly put him in the white house and the rest of us. We must not allow him to walk away from all the damage he has done to this country. He must be impeached now or punished after his term is up!

Hmmm! Could it be that the intelligence community is sensing the end of an era? One in which they were punished for not putting out assessments that met their bosses political goals?
Do we get a sense of rebellion in the ranks?
If the Republicans diss this report, it will be prime political fodder for the upcoming presidential campaign. Heh, heh, heh! ;-D

People who think that they are superior to others will lie because they think others will believe everything they say. However, I cannot for the life of me understand why our so-called representatives in Congess and the Senate have let this go on for so long. The man and most of his administration have lied to the people and refuse to follow our constitution. I think it is time to clean out both houses as they certainly do not reperesent the average, every day person of this country.

The Democratic Motto is similar to what President
Kennedy said,"ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU BUT ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY?"

"ASK NOT WHAT THE PEOPLE CAN DO FOR YOU BUT ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THE PEOPLE?"

Doesn't this say what the Democrats have always done? If you agree, this is what the Democrats stand for, then use it to compare the Republicans to the Democrats.
Haven't the Republicans always used the people to do things for them instead of doing things for the people?
...And they have always complained that Democrats have the people in mind, ABOVE ALL!

Bush's whole life is a lie. He won't talk about being AWOL, a girlfriend having an abortion, the drunken driving conviction, nor why he had to do community service. And that's just the discrepancies in his private life.

He's been lying about welfare for the wealthy, the terrorist threat, the war for oil, war profiteering, the signing statements, Abu Graibe, trashing the Bill of Rights and separation of powers, Katrina, Schiavo, Enron, Foley, etc.

Butte,

I've always thought the Spooks would get back at him for Cheney's trumped up WMD claim. I can't wait to see what the Generals and Admirals do to him for destroying their infrastructure.

After watching nearly 7 years of stupidity of what we call our government I'm now convinced that the London Financial Times Reporter quoted "That in America, it seems as though the INMATES ARE RUNNING THE ASLUM" We have to be fools to have ever trusted this, "empty suit" which was how the Republicans in Missouri in 1997 when Karl Rove introduced George W. Bush as the next President of the United States of America. This empty suit never trusted the American resolve and went about to spread "FEAR" and that FEAR is still in the Republican party. Get some guts America or we will lose more than just our freedom. Bring our troops home from building a Nation for this dispicable piece of ....... John Boehner R-OH said 3,700 military dead was a small price to pay for a position in the Middle East, which now with the NIE report shows tha this band of cutthroats caused the deaths of 3,883 military men & women and leaves 28,750 wounded. with a debt of $750 Billion dollars that our children will be paying for a long time. 80% of Americans don't give a dam and as long as their kids are not sent to fight they will continue to spend to keep George W. presidency from going into a deep recession. This is not the America that I have lived in for 72 years. Break our laws and you are rewarded with all the priviledges that our past generation worked for to build a better future.

Muleteam,

You are right, George W. Bush is by far the stupidest man in this country. Because he says one thing and then an report comes out that reads the opposite of what Bush says. Bush maybe not be just like Hitler, but, he's getting there and that's scary and dangerous. I am truly embarrassed that John Boehner is from my state of Ohio. John's statements are appalling and absurd. Anyone who says 3,700 of our miltary dead was a small price to pay doesn't deserve to be in office. Karl Rove is a weaselly little Right Wing Nut and it was funny that he and Sean Hannity came to Ohio to try to help Kenneth Blackwell win the position of governor. Then the next day the vote came in and Ted Strickland won instead of Blackwell. I laughed hard at Blackwell's defeat, considering all the Right Wing nuts that came to help him and that he still lost.

The best way to avoid being punished for a crime is to FOLLOW THE REPUBLICAN EXAMPLE of, know nothing, see nothing, nor hear nothing.

The young people of our nation are being tainted by the GOP example.

Parents turn off the Republicans so your children can stay innocent and obey the law as you have taught them.
