Reid Keeping Senate Open

He's not going to let Bush get away with making any objectionable recess appointments while Congress is out for the holidays. Like he did for Thanksgiving, he's using some clever maneuvering to make sure that Bush can't get around recognizing the proper role of the Senate.
More at Americablog, including Reid's statement. Apparently Bush indicated that he "would" have, in fact, used the recess appointments had Reid not taken this move.

Good for Reid. There will be no recess appointments in Bush's stocking this year.
Hoooah! Way to go! Give 'em hell, Harry!!!
Please keep up the heat on Bush. We need to get out of this war and his silly distractions of placing dumb people in power are getting us nowhere.
Hmm, I wonder who the last president before Bush used this law to appoint someone........
An interesting trick Reid is using, however, Bush says that the Senate is in fact not in session, thus he used the pocket veto. I wonder who will win this scenario. No matter who wins, the American citizen loses when our elected representatives continue to play stupid political blame games and refuse to do the job for which they were elected. Both parties are disgusting to the growing number of populist independants. Gotta love Lou Dobbs for telling it like it is.
Reid is a loose cannon and an old hat;he really needs to retire....his days have ended. Most Americans see him as nutty.
