It occurs to me that you youngsters never really watched Westerns at all growing up. That's a shame. They were great moral tales...sort of like an American version of Robin Hood.

You could always tell who were the villians. Not like today. The bad guys work so hard to fool people now...not in Westerns. If you haven't seen it yet, give the new version of "3:10 to Yuma" a try and you'll see what I mean.

The new "Lonesome Dove" TV mini series is scheduled for Januray. It should be another good view.

Gabby Hayes was a great character actor. He always played the part of a crazy old coot that everyone has to tolerate. Kind of reminds me of one of our trolls.
