Has there EVER been any question about how low class this and the other trolls are? One understands exactly their lack of upbringing, and knows exactly the type of parents they had.
Sad, but that is why they are so filled with hatred !

Consumerism the newest religion, praise the cash register. Cut workers pay so the CEO can keep another 20 million dollar bonus. A 17 year young woman dies because a critically needed transplant is denied because the CEO needs another sailboat and possibly another summer vacation house. Construction workers here in Florida are selling their tools to stay afloat and fishing for food and just maybe sell a few fish or crabs to attempt to get their tools back if the big developers decide to hire Americans instead of illegal aliens. I doubt that will happen unless said workers accept a pay cut but hey the economy is grat for the haves and to hell with the have nothings. Praise the cash register and our savior CEO"S.

A good friend of mine is a brick mason, in the last year he has gone from working on 2 houses a week to maybe 2 a month. I install tile and have fortunatly been working more or less full time but on smaller jobs and remodels. Not a lot of remodeling includes block work he is working at Wal-Mart to pays bills and put food on the table at less than half the money. It's tough out here and the government does not care because we have no voice. None of us can afford to bribe, I mean contribute to politicans to actually be heard. If you're broke it's too bad the rich make the decisions we don't matter to them. Unless there is public financing in political campaigns the working class will continue to be ignored and marginalised so the rich can continue to get even richer at everyone's else expense.

I worked for many years as brick mason in Florida out of the old local 3 in Tampa. Most of the masonry work down there at that time was concrete block, about 35-50 lbs each. After laying 400 concrete block in the wall in a day, I knnew that I had done a good man's day's work. Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Been there, done that!

Critics Say Labor Board Favors Business

By STEVEN GREENHOUSE
Published: December 14, 2007
Senate and House Democrats attacked the Republican-led National Labor Relations Board at a Congressional hearing on Thursday, saying its recent decisions had favored employers over workers.

The Democrats focused on 61 board decisions issued in September that, among other things, made it harder for unions to organize workers and harder for illegally fired employees to collect back pay.

“This board has undermined collective bargaining at every turn, putting the power of the law behind lawbreakers, not law victims,” said Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat who is chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

At the hearing, Wilma B. Liebman, a Democratic member of the five-member board, which oversees unionization rules for workers in private industry, repeatedly clashed with the board’s Republican chairman, Robert J. Battista.

“Virtually every recent policy choice by the board,” Ms. Liebman said, “impedes collective bargaining, creates obstacles to union representation or favors employer interests.”

Mr. Battista, whose term expires Sunday, took strong issue with the Democrats’ criticism.

“Notwithstanding the special interest group rhetoric we may be hearing about the N.L.R.B., the agency is carrying out its statutory mission,” said Mr. Battista, a labor lawyer from Detroit who represented many corporations.

.....Go figure a corporate lawyer hates unions and does everything possible to stop employeess from collective bargaining heads the Labor Relations Board. Another fox guarding the henhouse. We all know you have to keep wages as low as possible so the corporate CEO's can get bonuses of tens of millions of dollars. Health insurance for employees, screw that let them get sick, pensions, yeah right only the bosses need those unions, omg that's socialism, can't have that it would mean people get treated with respect and fair living wages. Money, power and greed is more important than workers rights and fair living wages according to our corporate run government.

You are no where near as old as I am, but when I consider the alternative, I count my blessings. I just watched Huckabee, he's a very good speaker and handles questions well. He spoke about VAT which I have been writing about for years. Our guys better have good answers for this. I still believe that the Huckster will be the Reptile nominee.I think that Rudy will fold his tent and return to his evil business enterprises which will leave it wide open. I almost would rather see McCain as the Reptile nominee.

14
goodfoe on December 23, 2007 at 11:07 AM

John Boy, I do not like Huckabee at all. He scares me, as does Rudy, but I agree that Rudy will self-destruct and slink away. Huckabee reminds me of Gomer on Mayberry, but with a sneaky religious, self-righteous side. He gives me the creeps.

Good morning, all.

If this isn't a sign of the times then what is? The financial pages of the local newspaper has an article today, not about making money, but holding on to it:

Here are some fianancial New Year's resolutions that are worth keeping

Andrew Leckev

New Year's financial resolutions are especially important when the economic future is a juggling act...

Here are New Year's financial resolutions for the coming year:

* Closely monitor your debt load.

* Keep track of your investment mix each quarter.

* View your home as a place you live.

* Take the concept of emergency funds to heart.

www.stltoday.com/stltoday/business/stories.nsf/yourmoney/story/66151A8D75ACB8F9862573B90009133A?OpenDocument

I predict Bush will start the New Year telling us that we have to reform Social Security...again. The Republicans have no idea how insulting that will be. Let him and McConnell bring it on.

Voters are ready for a fight.

Cyn,

Huckabee gives Limbaugh and the Republican party leadership the creeps, too. I sense that they can slow him down, but they won't be able to stop him.

The rest of those in GOP field all have too many credibility problems to gain much momentum. Since they have scared off most of the Reagan Democrats and fiscal/civil libertarians with their Iraqi and economic incompetence, fundamentalists are now the only reliable base.

Huckabee has become the future and the pale of the Republican Party. Watch Kristol and the rest of the conservatives go after him on economics which will only help The Huckster soar on his populist message. This guy understands propoganda and has the communications skills to get the nomination.

The GOP has created a religious Frankenstein monster that they can't stop even with Limbaugh. They have finally reaped what they sowed.

No, johnboy. We don't want McCain.

We can beat Huckabee because he's a fraud. John McCain may be many things, but he comes across as moderate and sincere.

Give me a true hypocrit to run against. Huckabee is trying to run as a liberal and it will be the kiss of death in the general. That's why George Will and the rest the conservatives are so upset.

Huckabee is running a Bush campaign in a year when voters are sick of being treated like fools for the past seven. Bring on the REAL Republican...the guy who is a religious huckster and can't be trusted.

I am sick and tired of listening to Obama condeming Clinton especially about her vote prior to the start of the was in Iraq......I hope most of my fellow democrats have been reviewing all of their records in the Senate. I do believe that since Mr. Obama was not sworn in to the Senate until January 4, 2005, he could not really have stood up and voted against the vote Mrs. Clinton took years before, as far as voting, according to Senate records he has only voted in 4 of the past 40 votes that the Senate has had in the past 44 opportunities recently....good record, lets put some truth to those campaign words.

This Is the Sound of a Bubble Bursting
By PETER S. GOODMAN

Cape Coral, Fla.

TWO years ago, when Eric Feichthaler was elected mayor of this palm-fringed, middle-class city, he figured on spending a lot of time at ribbon-cuttings. Tens of thousands of people had moved here in recent years, turning musty flatlands into a grid of ranch homes painted in vibrant Sun Belt hues: lime green, apricot and canary yellow.

Mr. Feichthaler was keen to build a new high school. He hoped to widen roads and extend the reach of the sewage system, limiting pollution from leaky septic tanks. He wanted to add parks.

Now, most of his visions have shrunk. The real estate frenzy that once filled public coffers with property taxes has over the last two years given way to a devastating bust. Rather than christening new facilities, the mayor finds himself picking through the wreckage of speculative excess and broken dreams.

Last month, the city eliminated 18 building inspector jobs and 20 other positions within its Department of Community Development. They were no longer needed because construction has all but ceased. The city recently hired a landscaping company to cut overgrown lawns surrounding hundreds of abandoned homes.

“People are underwater on their houses, and they have just left,” Mr. Feichthaler says. “That road widening may have to wait. It will be difficult to construct the high school. We know there are needs, but we are going to have to wait a little bit.”

Waiting, scrimping, taking stock: This is the vernacular of the moment for a nation reckoning with the leftovers of a real estate boom gone sour. From the dense suburbs of northern Virginia to communities arrayed across former farmland in California, these are the days of pullback: with real estate values falling, local governments are cutting services, eliminating staff and shelving projects.

In a Force for Iraqi Calm, Seeds of Conflict
By ALISSA J. RUBIN and DAMIEN CAVE

BAGHDAD — The thin teenage boy rushed up to the patrol of American soldiers walking through Dora, a shrapnel-scarred neighborhood of the capital, and lifted his shirt to show them a mass of red welts across his back.

He said he was a member of a local Sunni “Awakening” group, paid by the American military to patrol the district, but he said it was another Awakening group that beat him. “They took me while I was working,” he said, “and broke my badge and said, ‘You are from Al Qaeda.’”

The soldiers were unsure of what to do. The Awakening groups in just their area of southern Baghdad could not seem to get along: they fought over turf and, it turned out in this case, one group had warned the other that its members should not pay rent to Shiite “dogs.”

The Awakening movement, a predominantly Sunni Arab force recruited to fight Sunni Islamic extremists like Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, has become a great success story after its spread from Sunni tribes in Anbar Province to become an ad-hoc armed force of 65,000 to 80,000 across the country in less than a year. A linchpin of the American strategy to pacify Iraq, the movement has been widely credited with turning around the violence-scarred areas where the Sunni insurgency has been based.

But the beating that day was a stark example of how rivalries and sectarianism are still undermining the Americans’ plans. And in particular, the Awakening’s rapid expansion — the Americans say the force could reach 100,000 — is creating new concerns.

How, when thousands are joining each month, can spies and extremists be reliably weeded out? How can the men’s loyalty be maintained, given their tribal and sectarian ties, and in many cases their insurgent pasts? And crucially, how can the movement be sustained once the Americans turn over control to a Shiite-dominated government that has been wary, and sometimes hostile, toward the groups?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/23/world/middleeast/23awakening.html?hp
================================================
The Shiite dominated Iraqi government already said
they would disband these "awakening councils" eventually. There is little this will become yet another source of conflict. We are no closer to an exit strategy post SPLURGE than before.

News Flash: WE'RE BROKE
by bonddad
Sun Dec 23, 2007 at 05:49:55 AM PST

The next president faces an unenviable task: namely, to fix the national fiscal position after 8 years of Republican mismanagement. If they don't make fixing this their top priority, then the US could have an incredibly difficult time when they leave office in either four or eight years.

* bonddad's diary :: ::
*

Let's start with an overview of the last six years. These figures are from the Bureau of Public Debt. They are the total amount of debt outstanding as of the end of the government's fiscal years.

09/30/2006 $8,506,973,899,215.23
09/30/2005 $7,932,709,661,723.50
09/30/2004 $7,379,052,696,330.32
09/30/2003 $6,783,231,062,743.62
09/30/2002 $6,228,235,965,597.16
09/30/2001 $5,807,463,412,200.06
09/30/2000 $5,674,178,209,886.86

Currently, the total national debt stands at $9,136,418,062,457.29

The Associated Press recently made this observation:

Like a ticking time bomb, the national debt is an explosion waiting to happen. It's expanding by about $1.4 billion a day — or nearly $1 million a minute.

What's that mean to you?

It means almost $30,000 in debt for each man, woman, child and infant in the United States.

The most widely used calculation of national debt is the debt/GDP ratio.

These GOP jackasses have the nerve to demand more and more money for their Iraq occupation. What does it get us? 12 billion a month down the drain just so the GOP Chimps can claim they didn't "lose a war". Why did they go there in the first place? Every reason given to date has been a lie. Spending 12 billion per month on the occupation is a failure.

BAGHDAD — A roadside bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol in Baghdad killed two civilians Sunday, as

Both police officers spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release information to the media.

To the north, gunmen shot and killed an Iraqi Army officer west of the city of Mosul, 225 miles northwest of Baghdad, police said. Lt. Col. Nayif Muhammed al-Shammari was shot as he drove his car. He was not in uniform at the time, a police officer said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record.

Also in Mosul Sunday, a parked car bomb targeting a passing police patrol killed a civilian and wounded five policemen, police said. In Tikrit, 80 miles north of Baghdad, one policeman was wounded when a roadside bomb exploded as police were attempting to defuse it, police said.

Despite the attacks, Iraq has seen a clear improvement in security in recent months, with the U.S. military saying violence is down by about 60 percent.

The decrease in attacks has been partly attributed to the work of Sunni groups that used to fight Iraqi forces and the U.S. military, but have now turned against al-Qaida in Iraq and receive U.S. backing.

On Saturday, Iraqi Defense Minister Abdul-Qadir al-Obaidi _ who is himself a Sunni _ said the groups will not be allowed to become a separate military force.

The statement was the Shiite-led government's most explicit declaration yet of its intent to eventually dismantle the groups backed and funded by the United States as a vital tool for reducing violence.

So the subhuman chimpanoid thinks, "There's 'a great expectation in the world' that the United States should 'take the lead' on issues". Well, given his historically dismal performance in this regard it shouldn't be at all difficult for any of our democratic candidates to not only live up to that expectation but to very easily exceed it. And rest assurd, we will greatly improve our nations standing in the eyes of the world, not by force and coercion, but by cooperation, compassion, and understanding. If by making such a statement the 'fool on the hill' thought he'd play the expectations game on the world stage, he blew it yet again.

51
BoilerMan on December 23, 2007 at 01:04 PM

It didn't get a lot of attention, but in mid-December, U.S. forces in Iraq discovered an al Qaeda torture center north of Baghdad. Muqdadiya is about 60 miles north of the capital. American soldiers found a blood-spattered room where chains still hung on the gory walls. A metal bed frame was still connected to an electric shock generator. The Americans also found bloody knives and swords. Outside, the bodies of 26 people were buried in common graves.

That al Qaeda has made rape, torture and murder its calling card in Iraq is not news. Michael Yon (michaelyon-online.com), among others, has reported the atrocities committed by al Qaeda in Iraq, and even the major media have at last come to acknowledge that Sunni leaders -- disgusted by the atrocities they have witnessed -- have teamed up with the Americans to defeat al Qaeda. It was Iraqi locals who pointed the U.S. patrol to the torture house in Muqdadiya.

Last May, according to The Smoking Gun website, U.S. troops unearthed an even more grisly site, an al Qaeda torture chamber in Baghdad itself. When they entered, the soldiers found an Iraqi man suspended from the ceiling by chains. The room contained torture implements including hammers, whips, meat cleavers and wire cutters as well as a crude torture manual, displaying various methods of inflicting unbearable pain. These included using a blowtorch on the skin, gouging out eyes, using an electric drill to cut through a hand, and many more.

It's useful to be reminded of what real torture looks like when the Democrats in Washington are working themselves into a characteristic froth about the CIA and the destroyed interrogation tapes. Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., declared that for "the past six years, the Bush administration has run roughshod over our ideals and the rule of law." It reminded him of nothing so much as the "18-and-a-half-minute gap on the tapes of Richard Nixon." Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., smells "obstruction of justice."

So now we will have an inquiry into whether the CIA has violated the law by destroying tapes it was under no obligation to make in the first place; concerning an interrogation technique that at the very worst (according to most reliable reports) involved making three notorious terrorists think, for a few seconds, that they were drowning.

I have severe doubts as to whether waterboarding constitutes torture. But I am certain that the unceasing attention it receives and the eagerness of many Democrats to indict the Bush administration has done more damage to America's image than anything the CIA has done. I say this for two reasons:

1) When Democrats talk of coverup and torture, we know they're referring to waterboarding, but the world doesn't know that. People in the Middle East and elsewhere naturally assume that torture is torture -- the kind that al Qaeda was grimly practicing in Muqdadiya and elsewhere. And the more dark insinuations that issue from Capitol Hill and the New York Times, etc., the more certain the rest of the world is that we are doing similar things. I was recently invited, for example, by the Oxford Union in England to debate (for the affirmative) the proposition "Resolved: This House Would Torture to Save Lives." I declined but counter-offered on David Frum's advice to debate "Resolved: This House Believes Terrorists Deserve the Full Protection of the Geneva Conventions." I await their reply.

2) The unending controversy about waterboarding has completely obscured the reality of what is going on at Guantanamo, where inmates are gaining weight on the culturally sensitive diet, having surgeries to repair old injuries, reading their Korans and praying on the U.S.-supplied prayer mats, and conferring with their lawyers while troops of journalists, politicians and human rights activists parade by.

All of this comes against the backdrop of Iraq, where at long last the violence has been contained, al Qaeda is in retreat, and refugees are returning home. If present trends continue, Iraq will not be the failure and disaster for the United States our enemies were hoping for. Could it be that the Democrats too are disappointed, and are seeking in the CIA story another way to undermine the progress?

Paper gives 'anti-endorsement' to Romney

MILFORD, N.H. - The Concord Monitor broke with political tradition Sunday, telling readers in the state with the first presidential primary why they should not vote for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney instead of whom they should support.

In a scathing anti-endorsement that called Romney a "disquieting figure," the New Hampshire newspaper's editorial board said he looks and acts like a presidential contender but "surely must be stopped" because he lacks the core philosophical beliefs to be a trustworthy president.

LINK

I think Romney is the most scary candidate running for President and it is not the fact that he is Mormon. His flip flops, and the way he compared himself to others rather than what he is inside. I feel the shell of a man who will do anything to get elected, never before have I heard such an I, I, I, I candidate comparing himself to JFK to Bush and that is too wide of an extreme.

Mike Huckabee another Bill Clinton?

DAVENPORT, Iowa - To hear Mitt Romney tell it, Republican Mike Huckabee shares more with Democrat Bill Clinton than a hometown in Hope, Ark., and a stint as Arkansas governor.

Both men, Romney suggests, have left-leaning governing philosophies, particularly on taxes and spending.

"Governor Huckabee's record is more liberal than our nation needs right now," the former Massachusetts governor said in Iowa last week, seeking to link his GOP presidential rival to the former Democratic president who is loathed by many Republican loyalists.

LINK

The fact that Romney also compares himself as Bush best friend tips the scales on the weird side. He is siding with the Iraq War and keeping troops there no matter what. As President he would inhale Executive Privilege and expand it where I, I, I, I is a one man Romney rule. We need a "We the people" we, we, we, we President not a Royal buffoon who looks into the mirror and sees only himself. We need a leader that will serve this nation in time of war not a leader who used the Conscientious Objector status to avoid one.

The way Romney flails at people he perceives as threats will prove to be what kind of President he will be, combative as long as his family is save at home. He is another wantta be Republican cowboy let loose to destroy America's image even more.

I agree Romney needs some more anti-endorsements as being so wrong for America. The worst candidate to serve this nation of we's not I's.

So the subhuman chimpanoid thinks, "There's 'a great expectation in the world' that the United States should 'take the lead' on issues".
==================================================
boilerman, the right wing jackasses are trying to re-write history. They won't be able to do so. The damage has already been done and will take decades to amend.

Iraq is a abysmal failure. The human toll has been tremendous. Millions of Iraqi are still displaced and will never return. We are still bogged down in an endless occupation that costs the taxpayer 12 billion dollars per month. For what? All of the right wing's bullcrap about democracy and getting rid of dictators just doesn't stand up. This country made Hussein what he has by working with him against Iran. He was just another thug in a world filled with thuggish governments. Al Qaeda in Iraq ... there was no Al Qaeda there until Chimpy occupied the country. The Al Qaeda movement in Iraq is essentially home grown. There are very few foreign fighters. Meanwhile, Bin Laden and crew are still in Pakistan stirring up trouble.

Iraq isn't worth the lives and money spent. There is no way the right wing shills can ever make it otherwise. The American public still want us out of there. They don't want to see a permanent occupation.

dlester, Ghouliani may be even worst than Romney on foreign policy. He has surrounded himself with an even kookier bunch of neocons than Bush. The Ghoul thinks Bush didn't go far enough and is itching to launch an attack on Iran ... probably other nations.
Besides the immorality of attacking a people for no reason, there is a complete disregard for what this warmongering is costing this nation. We just don't have the money to pour into war after war, occupation after occupation.

They don't really care about ending the war for a noble cause, they demand America loses, they want this country not only to lose but to walk away in shame and dishonor.

Then the money, they think about all the money the greedy little asshats could be stealing from the taxpayers to support their selves. The little commie asshats want to live off the backs of everyone else and never have to work, or take responsibility for themselves or their off spring.

Posted by rjsnj on December 23, 2007 at 01:25 PM

This is what is so amazing about the Iraq invasion and occupation. It was done openly by the US forces to get big bases for our permanent military presence built there.

In Chile, Indonesia, Argentina, etc. the US was behind the scenes of the state terrorism to change to the open market economy. Was done by proxy to get what businesses needed to set up bases and treaties and regimes.

This occupatiion the US forces are directly the ones taking prisoners and terrorizing the population to get the oil and base contracts.

Iraq they decided is the center of their efforts and the masks came off.

100's thousands tortured, millions of casualties to open the markets to freeken trade and suppress socialist ideation. Confidence back now!:

Naomi Klein: From Think Tanks to Battle Tanks, “The Quest to Impose a Single World Market Has Casualties Now in the Millions”
*****

Now, I say this because this was one of those worlds that wasn’t chosen, one of those paths that wasn’t chosen. And I spent the past four years pulling these stolen and betrayed alternatives out of the dustbin of our recent history, because I think it matters. I think it matters that we had ideas all along, that there were always alternatives to the free market. And we need to retell our own history and understand that history, and we have to have all the shocks and all the losses, the loss of lives, in that story, because history didn’t end. There were alternatives. They were chosen, and then they were stolen. They were stolen by military coups. They were stolen by massacres. They stolen by trickery, by deception. They were stolen by terror.

We who say we believe in this other world need to know that we are not losers. We did not lose the battle of ideas. We were not outsmarted, and we were not out-argued. We lost because we were crushed. Sometimes we were crushed by army tanks, and sometimes we were crushed by think tanks. And by think tanks, I mean the people who are paid to think by the makers of tanks. Now, most effective we have seen is when the army tanks and the think tanks team up. The quest to impose a single world market has casualties now in the millions, from Chile then to Iraq today. These blueprints for another world were crushed and disappeared because they are popular and because, when tried, they work. They’re popular because they have the power to give millions of people lives with dignity, with the basics guaranteed. They are dangerous because they put real limits on the rich, who respond accordingly. Understanding this history, understanding that we never lost the battle of ideas, that we only lost a series of dirty wars, is key to building the confidence that we lack, to igniting the passionate intensity that we need.

I do not understand why the media is not focusing on Barack's State Senate voting record. The media is picking Hillary apart but have failed to examine all his "Present" votes where he refued to vote on contentious issues but just used present. That really shows leadership doesn't it???
Wonder if he would just say "Present" when his Vice President wanted to drop the A Bomb!!! Where are you all on examining his record. He has none!!! Combine that with his drug use and ask is this the kind of person we want for our President. The Republicans will have a field day with him. Keep your coverage fair. If you are nitpicking all the scandals where no wrong doing was ever found about Hillary during the Clinton years then nitpick his record as well as his drug use. Cocaine is not a casual drug and is not easily discontinued. Hillary has withstood the test of toughness and intellegence that is needed for the Presidency. She exemplifies family values by not divorcing Bill after Monica. She & Bill for all their problems obviously care for each other & have a beautiful daughter that obviously loves & supports them. Wake up and give Barack the same examination that you are focusing on the other candidates. Chris42

Here's an excerpt from a book you might want to read if you haven't already..."How Corporations Hurt Us All- Saving Our Rights, Democracy, Institutions and Our Future."

Economic globalization is the most powerful engine of production, profit, and advanced technology that the world has ever known. The United States, which is the main driver of economic globalization, has become the richest and most powerful nation in world history with more millionaires and billionaires than ever before.

Economic/corporate-driven globalization, as currently organized, is also a very high-risk, Utopian experiment unprecedented in human history. What’s called the Washington consensus or “neoliberal orthodoxy” - the deregulated, privatized, so-called “free” market economy - is really socialism for the rich; maintained by arbitrary international rules, agreements, and structures; enforced by the U.S. military and NATO; and responsible for widespread suffering, dislocation, and destruction throughout the world.

The good news is that worldwide opposition to corporate globalization is intensifying and that there are viable economic alternatives…..

BTW -- I'm pretty sure the skin-heads at NRO would love it.

BAGHDAD — The U.S. ambassador to Iraq said Sunday that recent successes such as reducing violence have created a new set of challenges for 2008 _ the most important being the return of refugees and the struggle for political reconciliation.

An equally significant factor, Ryan Crocker said, will be whether neighboring Iran uses its considerable influence among the Shiite majority to ease the strife that has torn this country apart _ or instead create further instability.

"The positive developments in the latter half of 2007 represent the challenges of 2008," Crocker told reporters in Baghdad. "There will be the ongoing challenges of reconciliation, and if there is a single overarching issue that will determine the future of this country that is it for me in one word."

Over one thousand lawyers – including former Governor Mario Cuomo and former Reagan administration official Bruce Fein – have signed onto the above statement demanding wide-ranging investigative hearings into unconstitutional and potentially criminal activity by the Bush administration.

In a conference call with reporters yesterday, Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights and winner of the 2007 Puffin/Nation Prize for Creative Citizenship, said: "The majority of lawyers in this country understand that the Bush administration has really gone off the page of constitutional rights and off the page of fundamental rights, and is willing to push the Congress to restore those rights." Ratner said he was "dismayed" that a Democratic majority has failed "to push on key illegalities… the torture program, and now the destruction of the tapes involving the torture program; the warrantless wiretapping, the denial of habeas corpus, the secret sites/rendition program, special trials, and of course what we now know is the firing of US Attorneys scandal…. The minimal that absolutely is needed to get us back on the page of law is to have serious investigative hearings that go up the chain of command and figure out who is responsible for what."

from To Restore Democracy
First Abolish Corporate Personhood
or Corporate Personhood - Warbucks' Got a Full Plate

There is little reason to worry that a coup will topple American democracy. The fear, to quote T.S. Eliot, is that American democracy might end "not with a bang but a whimper," the collective whimper of We the People when we come to understand, too late, that we have simply let our authority slip away, without noticing, in what amounts to a self-inflicted coup.

There is no shortage of people who, having discovered the little-known history of corporations in the United States, conclude that this has already happened. But our democracy is not dead until We the People have given up. Personhood and the WTO treaty do magnify the power of corporations, but the people still have the power of the vote, and the votes of citizens can still overrule the wishes of money. It will take creativity, determination, and discipline, but it remains possible to inspire the people who have given up on democracy to abandon their apathy and vote to renew the strength of government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

rj,

What is so startling about this is how quickly Petraeus has been able to pay off 100,000 thugs and give them guns with which to torment others...and we are paying each one of these mercenaries $300 a month?

At first I thought the goal was to set up a Sunni army to use as a club against the Shiite government and make them hand over the oil fields. From what this article is telling us, Petraeus has set up a bunch of local gangs with no thought as to what they might do.

It's worse than a rival Sunni army. Just what Iraq needs...more young men running around without any direction picking on any civilian who crosses their path acting like some parody of Rambo.

Petraeus is suppose to be this smart counter-insurgency expert? He's acting more like a pimp.

And the timing couldn't be worse what with Syria and Jordan beginning to force those two million Sunni refugees to return home. What demented trap has Bush created for these poor people to walk into now?

By now Petraeus must know he's created a major blunder...if the MSM is beginning to figure it out. How long can he keep the lid on? Is he only concerned with holding on till the November election?

Good luck, General Petraeus. You took a bad situation and made it worse. And it's going to blow up in the Republican nominee's face.

Wow, that sounds so great a meal.

Mine is a budget gourmet stir fry rice and vegetables frozen meal upon a Florida solitary motel room.

Yet I was giving the miracle of long ago, where as a crippled young child I stood up and walked upon seeing a Christmas Tree. Today that Christmas Tree glows inside my heart, trying to make a Poet stand up proud that the miracle lies in believing in oneself against all possible odds. That one can be a Liberal patriot in America and still be blessed as an American under God's eyes seeing all His Children as being gifted with His miracles of Independence.

For even alone and in despair He will never give up on me being a patriot of heart. So in the only gift, I can use to bless you all, I will say this.

May the sunshine that radiates within the Holidays lift your feelings upon the heavens upon the gift that God has given this nation where His children are of equality and diversity where we can hold hands in a love, found in no other nation, so diverse in all races, religions, creeds, genders, and heartbeats where we can join together as "We the people." So on a Christmas table, may we have a prayer that love prevails over labels and Judges of hate, this Christmas day of miracles.

Reminds me of a very elegant restaurant I was in in 1950 in Riverdale, NY in 1950. You New Yorkers know how to put out a great spread. Cheryl just came in and said she wants to take me out to Los Ramadas for chicken fajitas,....see you later!....GO EDWARDS!!!

John Boy, I LOVE chicken fajitas! In fact, I love all Mexican food. Living in the "sticks", there aren't really any good places to go to. However, if you ever get to NY again, check out Little Bear in Woodstock. Fan-tas-tic!

Have a great time and yes, GO EDWARDS!

this blog is a negative place of endless disparaging comments about people whose only real crimes are being on the wrong side of the political offense.

OMG , now I have heard everything ! What rock do these trolls live under? Today's Neo Cons are the most destructive party that has ever operated in the USA. They have thrown away our Civil liberties. They have turned surplus into deficit. They have thrown More government into our lives. They have destroyed the economy. They are the most corrupt in our time. There are more sexually perverted than ever in history. They have destroyed our dollar. They have ruined our reputation in the world.

Here are a few facts:

). FEDERAL SPENDING: since 1960 Republicans increased Federal Spending by 71% more than have Democrats

2). FEDERAL DEBT: since 1960 Republicans have increased the National debt by 100% more per year than have Democrats.

3). GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT: since 1921, adjusted for inflation, Democrats outproduce Republicans by 43% . Starting in 1940 the Democratic advantage is 23% better.

4). REAL PER CAPITA INCOME: since 1960 Democrats have outperformed Republicans by 30%. (This is perhaps the most important economic statistic of all)

5). INFLATION: since 1960, Democrats outperform Republicans 3.13% to 3.89%

6). UNEMPLOYMENT: since 1960 it decreases in an average Democratic year by 0.3% to 5.33%, and increases in average Republican year by 1.1% to 6.38%.

7). JOB CREATION: from 1945 to 2003, Democrats produced 174,200 jobs per month, Republicans have only produced 60,600 per month. Every time a Democrat succeeds a Republican, job creation soars. Every time a Republican succeeds a Democrat job creation plummets. NO EXCEPTIONS!

8). DOW JONES AVERAGE: since 1921 the DOW has increased by 52% more under Democratic administrations

9). THE BOND MARKET: since 1940 the value of 10 year Treasury bonds rose 1.2% under Democrats and fell 0.5% under Republicans

Op-Ed Columnist
Savior or Saboteur?
By MAUREEN DOWD

WASHINGTON

Once it was about Hillary, but now, of course, it’s about Bill.

Our ubiquitous ex-president is playing his favorite uxorious game, and it goes like this: Let’s create chaos and then get out of it together. You ride to my rescue or I ride to yours. We come within an inch of dying and then recapture the day by the skin of our teeth. While we’re killing ourselves, we blame everyone else. We’ll be heroes.

It worked for Bill and Hillary in ’92 and ’96. It didn’t work in the health care debacle. Will it work in Iowa and New Hampshire?

Just when I thought I was out, the Clintons pull me back into their conjugal psychodrama.

Inside the Bill gang and the Hillary gang, there is panic and perplexity. Is Bill a loyal spouse or a subconscious saboteur?

Should Hillaryland muzzle him? Give him a minder? Is he rusty? Or is he freelancing because he relishes his role as head of the party his wife is trying to take over?

“For the first time since the Marc Rich pardon,” said a friend of the Clintons, “Bill is seriously diminishing his personal standing with the people closest to him.”

Certainly Bill wants to repay Hill for those traumatic times when he had to hide behind her skirt. And certainly he feels that his legacy is tied to her. He suggests to Matt Bai in today’s Times Magazine that she can be F.D.R. to his Teddy Roosevelt, getting through the ideas that fell flat the first time.

Is Bill torn between resentment of being second fiddle and gratification that Hillary can be first banana only with his help? Their relationship has always been a co-dependence between his charm and her discipline. But what if, as some of her advisers suggest, she turned out to be a tougher leader, quicker to grasp foreign policy, less skittish about using military power and more inspirational abroad? What if she were to use his mistakes as a reverse blueprint, like W. did with his dad?

When Bill gets slit-eyed, red-faced and finger-wagging in defense of her, is he really defending himself, ego in full bloom, against aspersions that Obama and Edwards cast on Clintonian politics?

Maybe the Boy Who Can’t Help Himself is simply engaging in his usual patterns of humiliating Hillary and lighting an exploding cigar when things are going well.

“They’re not Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, who had jealousy as the lifeblood of their marriage,” said one writer who has studied the pair. “The lifeblood of their marriage is crisis, coming to each other’s rescue.”

Bill is staying up late strategizing and recasting her message and speeches. But he’s off his game on the trail, making clumsy mistakes like his remark — bound to be shot down by Poppy Bush — that Hillary would send 41 and 42 around the world to restore prestige lost by 43.

Hillary advisers noted that when Bill was asked by a supporter in South Carolina what his wife’s No. 1 priority would be, he replied: C’est moi! “The first thing she intends to do is to send me ...” he began.

He got so agitated with Charlie Rose — ranting that reporters were “stenographers” for Obama — that his aides tried to stop the interview.

He also got in the way of her message with stretchers about opposing the Iraq war from the start, and — in a slap at Obama — deciding not to run in ’88 because he lacked experience. Truth is, he didn’t run for fear of bimbo eruptions.

While making a speech in Iowa, The Associated Press’s Ron Fournier reported, Bill used the word “I” 94 times in 10 minutes, while mentioning “Hillary” just seven times. At a London fund-raiser, one Hillaryite said, it took him nearly half an hour to mention her.

As the Arkansas journalist Max Brantley told the Billary biographer Sally Bedell Smith, “He’s always evangelizing for the church of Bill.”

It’s hard to feel sorry for Hillary because the very logic of her campaign leads right to Bill. When she speaks of her “experience,” she is referring not to the Senate but to the White House, thereby making her campaign a plebiscite on the ’90s.

Running this way, she is essentially asking people to like her if they liked him. Whether she knows it or not, this is a coattails strategy. It’s almost as if she’s offering herself to Clinton supporters as the solution to the problem of the 22nd Amendment.

Bill is a narcissist, but he’s also within his rights to think that she has invited him onstage. If she is his legacy, why should he muzzle himself? After all, you can’t ask Elvis to behave like Colonel Parker.

If voting for Obama is a roll of the dice, as Bill suggests, voting for Billary is a sure bet: an endless soap opera.

updated 2:52 p.m. ET, Sun., Dec. 23, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO - Americans are falling behind on their credit card payments at an alarming rate, sending delinquencies and defaults surging by double-digit percentages in the last year and prompting warnings of worse to come.

An Associated Press analysis of financial data from the country’s largest card issuers also found that the greatest rise was among accounts more than 90 days in arrears.

Experts say these signs of the deterioration of finances of many households are partly a byproduct of the subprime mortgage crisis and could spell more trouble ahead for an already sputtering economy...

evening folks, a friend asked how i propose to 'overthrow ' the corporate culture corrupting our country...hope you don't mind, but here's my answer... there are sooo many things that could be done. but first, it would be silly of me or anyone else to think we could turn back the clock and return to a mom & pop economy. practically everything in our lives is somehow connected to corporations in one way or another. the real problem is that government, in its attempt to elevate the competitive advantage of our national corporations relative to the worldwide market place, has neglected, ignored, or otherwise considered unimportant, the welfare of everyday americans and has apparently lost sight of the fact that people 'are' the country. it is a sad fact that measures of economic productivity automatically improve by simply reducing the number of people, irregardless of real improvments in the efficiency of a process. so, we have corporations and we will continue to have corporations. to be honest, our way of life and perhaps even our country's existence depend on them. we need to know which are the 'good' guys and which are the 'bad'. we need a definition of 'responsible' corporate behavior, mechanisms to reward such behavior, means to punish 'irresponsible' behavior, and laws to reduce corporate influence in the political and regulatory process. a few ideas (in no particular order): > eliminate term limits > no corporate contibutions to political campaigns > campaign financing...1/3 individual ($5000 limit) contributions, 1/3 public, 1/3 personal > legislators abstain from votes directly affecting corporate 'gift' givers > tighten the 'relvolving' door between industry and government...3 years > any patent not acted upon within 5 years reverts to public domain > modified flat tax with corporate rate based upon 'social responsibility' rating > tax credits for employers appropriate to level of employee benifits given > tax penalties for employers providing no benifits and having only part-time employees > tax deductions for employees for 'cost of working' > minimum wage appropriate to local cost of living > mandatory health insurance for high risk occupations > 'office of corporate accountability' to insure costs are not 'externalized' (environmental, health, social, etc) > determination and regulation of trade monopolies at local, state, and regional levels > monies given departing ceos taxed as capitol gains > no propriatary protection from government oversight in cases involving public health, welfare, and safety > no cap on awards granted in cases of product liability > complete responsibility for 'damages' to whistleblowers for termination or losses within 2 years of incident > excessive profits tax > incentives for greater inclusion of local sources in media outlets

well, there you go. that's for starters and i'm booped. i'm sure we can grow the list if we keep it going.

and to this i'll add >a 5 year moratorium on defense research spending

Rep. Weiner Joins Call for Cheney Impeachment Hearings
from davidswanson's blog by davidswanson

By David Swanson

On Thursday, Congressman Anthony Weiner told Bob Fertik of Democrats.com that he would sign onto Congressman Robert Wexler's letter to Chairman John Conyers urging the commencement of impeachment hearings for Dick Cheney. Wexler, together with Congress Members Luis Gutierrez and Tammy Baldwin, hopes to have a majority of Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee sign the letter.

Of the four committee members named above, only Baldwin is among the six committee members and 25 total congress members backing Congressman Dennis Kucinich's resolution for the impeachment of Cheney. The other five Judiciary Committee members are Hank Johnson, Maxine Waters, Keith Ellison, Steve Cohen, and Sheila Jackson Lee. If these nine committee members sign the letter to Conyers that Wexler hopes to deliver early in January, another 12 Democrats, not counting Conyers, will still not have joined the position of 80 to 90 percent of Democratic voters.

On November 6th, Conyers himself voted against tabling impeachment. So did Congress Members Brad Sherman, Mel Watt, Bobby Scott, and Artur Davis. If those members heed the call of their constituents, Wexler will have a clear majority of 13-8. The other 8 include the relevant subcommittee chair Jerrold Nadler, plus Congress Members Delahunt, Berman, Boucher, Lofgren, Sanchez, Schiff, and Wasserman-Schultz. Of these, only Nadler signed on, during the previous Congress, to then ranking member John Conyers' resolution calling for a preliminary impeachment investigation.

All of these committee members can be contacted and thanked or encouraged to sign on at http://www.impeachcheney.org

Wexler's ability to influence his colleagues is increased as the number of signatures on his petition rises. You can sign here: http://www.wexlerwantshearings.com

Then, please start what Wexler has called a Chain-E letter. Email everyone you know, asking them to Email everyone they know, asking them to sign the petition to start the Cheney impeachment hearings.

Sorry fuckwad. YOU posted a C&P from a wingnut site which turned out to be an OPINION piece from the EDITORIAL PAGE of a Paper, and posted it as "The Washington Post "REPORTED" LAST YEAR.....

I looked it up, and you got that 16 month (or so) old piece of crap from a Wing-Nut site.

The Washington Post DID NOT "report" ANYTHING of the soet.

When I followed the "Story" I got to a VERBATIM "friendly Editorial" (as opposed to OP-ED which means "opposing this Editorial, idiot).

But YOU did the L_A_Z_Y thing of Copy and Paste crap from wing-nut sites and did it without attribution.

YOU stole something that SOMEBODY ELSE STOLE from SOMEBODY ELSE!!

You thieves just can't stop to either "smell the roses" OR FACT CHECK!!

Posting crapola from wingers would be O.K. if there were LINKS to the source and not just your "circle jerk" mentality.

There is some sad news on the horizon. The Washington Post is spreading lies about the racial undertones in the Clinton campaign. Well, this paper must be of the reptile nature. I have been worried that the democratic vote will be split. I knew the reptile would figure out a way to desinfranchise the black vote. It's easy, just make them believe that Hillary is trying to make the case against Obama because he is black.
This is about the issues, not about black, white, male or female, but you can bet your boots the reptiles are going to try and influence the racial difference between.
I hope the democrats of all colors will realize that this is all it is. Reptiles, whether they are organized media or TV stars, they will try any means possible to split the party. We cannot let this happen.

Now this is just amazing! Here we have a pack of commies bitching and moaning, crapping their boxers about people living in tents, the economy, the war against terror, and just what ever they feel fit to cry about. Look at those "festive menues"!! Not one single commie asshat as seen fit to have a traditional Christmas dinner of Turkey and, or Baked Ham. They haven´t even mentioned taking some Christmas cheer down to the local VA Hospital to the old and young veterans of our great nation. Not one single "progressive" has mention going down to a foodline or soup kitchen to help, because the "progressive"-"liberal" motto is: "don´t you dare grab a slice of my pie"!!!What a bunch of ARSCHLOERCHER!!!!
They can be thankful that Sen.Joe Mccarthy is no longer among the living. He would fire up their ragged commie asses,, I can already see the Depends melting on squirrel tooth´s fat ass. At least Essie´s carpenter is doing it the American way. Yes, sad but true, and as hypocritical as usuall, they live by the motto:"America must lose, so we can win".

Mary, several times a year, when I can get some time off from my demanding job doing road construction, I visit the closet va hospital which is a 3 hour drive. I will tell you my choice of candidate when the time is ripe. Also, I am having a traditional dinner of Turkey, which I raised my self, feed it acorns, beechnuts, corn and grains. Plus this fine bird was outside most of the time also picking his own food. No mass production crapola for the bird I plan on munching. Good to hear that you did some charity work. Too bad that pammy and her closest cohorts don´t spend anytime doing it. pammy´s greatest worry this past fall was getting the "obese one" into office; thinking that she could then strengthen her own position.

marymac_memphis on December 24, 2007 at 01:37 AM

Marshall: Actually, Pam did do some charity work. She cleared cars and shoveled drive and walk ways for several elderly neighbors during the recent snow/ice weather they had in CT. That should count a charity. I also volunteer at a VA hospital here in Memphis, usually one or two days a year, as I too work six days a week. My Dad was a Major in the Army, so I am sensitive to veterans needs. That is part of the reason that I am angry with the current administration. They put some of our best and brightest in harms way with lies and deceit. That is also why I support Sen. Joe Biden (D.DE) as I believe that he has the experience and proven track record in foreign policy to get our soldiers out and do it the right way with the least amount of damage for everyone. I still support the war in Afganistan and feel that we should employ the Powell Doctrine (as they should have fromt he start). What do you think of Afganistan? By the way - did you or any close member of your family serve?

Giuliani hits a rocky stretch as voting nears
Strategy shifts, reports about his personal life hurt his national standing

By Adam Nagourney
updated 1 hour, 4 minutes ago

HAMPTON, N.H. - Rudolph W. Giuliani has entered a turbulent period in his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, marked by what his aides acknowledge are missteps, sharp shifts in strategy and evidence that reports about his personal life have hurt his national standing.

A $3 million investment in radio and television advertising in New Hampshire, a belated effort to become competitive in this state, is now viewed by the campaign as a largely wasted expenditure...

...time to bring on that macaca/delay ticket!!

Well goat boy, Giuliani is not the Republicans best chance of retaking the Presidency and he never was. The Republicans almost always chose the candidate whose turn it is. They will sort through all of these candidates who have had to flip flop to get away from their liberal backgrounds and settle on McCain as the least of all evils.

McCain will handle the war on terror well.

While in a committee meeting, MaCain became enraged because the other Republican Senators would not support his position on an issue. McCain lost it and called the other Republicans stupid s.o.b.'s, etc...If McCain gets the Reptile nod, I hope that they have a good, sane v/p nominee and a mussel for old John. Maybe Gomer Pile is available. My apologies to the Marice Corps, but if McCain is the nominee, there will be a greater need for Gomer than in the Marine Corps.

Is Hillary Clinton’s Anger Manageable?

September 7, 2007

Three recent biographies on Hillary Rodham Clinton, each by widely separated and totally diverse authors, have come to the same conclusion: Hillary has a terrible temper, holds long-lasting grudges, and has a fragile emotional state that can be traced to her childhood. The question these biographical accounts pose is: how will these flaws affect the country, should she win the White House? The first biography of note was written by Carl Bernstein, one of the journalists who broke the Watergate scandal. In A Woman in Charge, Bernstein notes that Hillary Clinton has had bouts of depression and melancholy since she was a youngster, and experienced an especially severe episode a year after Bill Clinton was elected president in 1994.

Bernstein then recites published accounts of Mrs. Clinton’s temper, her tendency to label people as friends or enemies and, in the latter case, to bear lifelong grudges. Since her election as senator, Hillary has formed what is called her “war room” from which emerge strategies to deal harshly and mercilessly with her critics and opponents. Some insiders say Richard Nixon’s “enemies list” would be a fair comparison.

Bernstein manages to weave some compassion into his narrative, especially when detailing Hillary’s emotional turmoil brought about by Bill Clinton’s “bimbo eruptions” and the smarmy coverage of the Monica Lewinsky affair. Still, the conclusion Bernstein reaches is that Hillary is ruthless and willing to take on any opponent who dares to cross her path.

The second biography of Hillary, Her Way, comes from Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta, Jr., both Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalists for the New York Times. While acknowledging that Hillary is currently one of the most influential figures on the political scene, the authors say she is also “the single most divisive individual in our political landscape.” Gerth and Van Natta also bring up Hillary’s “war room” from which she and her staff plan savage attacks against her foes.

The authors remind us that she and Bill Clinton planned in the early days of their marriage how they would devise a path for him leading to the White House. Now it is Bill’s turn to accommodate Hillary.

In a piece contributed to Blogger News in July of this year [”Bill Clinton’s role in Hillary’s campaign”], I wrote that the former president will be the secret weapon in his wife’s bid for the presidency. His role as a master strategist could even evolve to the point where Bill Clinton has his own campaign plane, press corps, and separate agenda for visiting crucial states.

With Bill’s help, say Gerth and Van Natta, Hillary may be able to “reinvent herself,” as she practically has done already, portraying herself as an antiwar candidate without refuting her previous position in 2002 when she voted to support Bush’s invasion of Iraq. The authors conclude that Hillary is “a meticulous architect of her persona with an almost scientific devotion to self-creation.”

The third book is more about Bill Clinton’s life in retirement, although the pages devoted to his wife are certainly biographical. The Clinton Crack-Up by R. Emmett Tyrrell also focuses on what the author calls Hillary’s “dreadful temper” and how first-hand accounts tell of her throwing objects at her husband and staff. Yet many of the incidents were never reported by the media, even though several reporters witnessed her rages first-hand. Tyrrell, who founded and edits The American Spectator, tells how for years Hillary had demanded that Secret Service agents carry her bags - despite rules that prohibit them from doing so. Tyrrell wonders how Hillary’s awesome temper would influence America’s destiny, should she ever be in control of the military and the Justice Department.

Some Republicans claim that Hillary may be “too angry” to be elected president. In response, Hillary retreated to the “war room” and emerged with the accusation that her Republican enemies are attacking her because of her gender, and were practicing political sexism. Hillary said she would wear the comment on her anger as “a badge of honor.”

It is too early, too soon, to predict a winner of the 2008 presidential election. But should Hillary Rodham Clinton be the successful candidate, America will have to learn how to deal with a president who may alternately be depressed and volatile, while being manipulated from the sidelines by the 42nd president of the United States

There is a few Congressmen and Senators that need to be told where to go, most of them Democrats.

Hillary Clinton's Culture of Corruption: The Scandal Queen
The Fraudulent Senator: Part 1 of a 7 Part Series

March 13, 2006
Once upon a time the woman who former Democrat House Ways and Means Committee Chairman and convicted felon Dan Rostenkowski was credited with calling "the smartest woman in the world'' decided that departing the pinnacle of world power at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue – where she was co-president of the U.S. for eight years – was unacceptable.

In no time, she decided that the fastest route to regaining that power was to spend as few years as possible as the junior senator from New York and then move onward and upward to reclaim what she believes is her rightful place in history as the first female president of the United States of America.

Hillary Rodham Clinton promptly relocated to the Empire State and moved into an upscale house financed by the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Her senatorial campaign involved spinning the yarn that she was a long-time NY Yankees fan, assuring upstate conservative voters that she "cared" about their jobs, informing the large liberal base of NY City Jewish voters that she was part Jewish (endearing coming from the wife of the first black president), and convincing the Chasidic New Square community in Rockland County (that had formerly voted overwhelmingly for arch-conservative Sen. Alfonse D'Amato) to vote 99 to 1 for her.

Never mind that two months after her election she pardoned four residents of New Square who had been convicted of defrauding the federal government, an act not quite as egregious as her husband's attempt to win her New York's Hispanic vote by pardoning 16 members of the FALN terrorist group who had planted over 130 bombs in the U.S., killed six people and injured 70.

All that added to the sympathy of New York's bleeding-heart liberals for the woman wronged by her predatory husband and his paramour Monica Lewinsky, and Hillary ran up enough votes to elect her to the U.S. Senate.

The Past as Prologue
In preparation for her unchallenged role as America’s Scandal Queen, Hillary navigated the shoals of Arkansas politics for 12 years as the then-governor's wife – years that included scandals of her own, among them:

▪ A $100,000 windfall from cattle futures after a $1,000 investment.

• The Castle Grande real estate scam.

• Her role as attorney for the Rose law firm in what would become the endlessly controversial-cum-criminal Whitewater affair that would follow her to the White House.

• The serial philandering of her husband, which cast her – depending on one's viewpoint – as a clench-jawed stoic, a perpetual victim, or a willing collaborator.

According to veteran journalist Richard Poe: "During Bill Clinton's tenure as attorney general and then governor of Arkansas, the state became a veritable Dixie Casablanca, a hotbed of global intrigue, in which shady operators ranging from Columbian drug lords and BCCI money launderers to Chinese intelligence agents took part." And there, in the thick of it, was Clinton's "stand by your man's" wife, Hillary.

Chicago-born Hillary – who by way of education, career, marriage and circumstance had already migrated to Wellesley, New Haven, Washington D.C., and Little Rock – had learned a lot in "The Natural State," specifically how to supernaturally evade responsibility, deny accountability, and dodge law enforcement, all the perfect preparation for her lengthy stay in White House – at the lofty address she now wants to reoccupy.

Don't Throw Me in That Briar Patch!
By the time she moved into the White House in 1993, Hillary was so accustomed to – and comfortable with – her husband's and her own self-created scandals that living a straight-and-narrow, law-abiding life appeared to be alien to her.

Like Brer Rabbit, Hillary practically begged for scandal. To recount the Joel Chandler Harris classic, Brer Rabbit was despised by Brer Fox, who decided to teach a lesson to the uppity rabbit. He created a tar baby and, sure enough, Brer Rabbit struck up a conversation with the sticky statue, but to no avail. Frustrated, he punched the baby and his paw got stuck in the tar. Infuriated, he struck him again and his other paw got stuck. Then he kicked the tar baby with both feet and butted it with his head and they too got stuck.

Finally, Brer Fox appeared to taunt his captive. "I'm going to barbecue you today, for sure."

"I don't care what you do with me, roast me," Brer Rabbit said. "Just so you don't fling me in that briar patch." Then Brer Fox threatened to hang the critter, drown him or skin him. But those horrible prospects didn't daunt Brer Rabbit. "Snatch out my eyeballs, tear out my ears by the roots," he pleaded with his antagonist, "but please, Brer Fox, don't fling me in that briar patch!

Finally Brer Fox decided to do the worst of all possible things: hurl Brer Rabbit in the briar patch. In no time, the fox saw Brer Rabbit sitting on a chinquapin log combing the tar pitch out of his hair. "Born and bred in the briar patch," Brer Rabbit gleefully called out to the fox. "It's my favorite place in the whole world!"

An Expert at Scandal
Unlike Brer Rabbit, Hillary wasn't born and bred in the world of political scandal – far from it. In fact her family were Republicans and young Hillary supported the1964 presidential bid of Barry Goldwater, the archconservative senator from Arizona. Unphased by his loss, she continued her conservative ways by becoming the president of the Wellesley College chapter of College Republicans.

But with her exposure at Wellesley to the radical leftist Saul Alinsky and her subsequent introduction to Yale Law School's draft-dodging leftist Bill Clinton, the die was cast for her hate-America's-military-intelligence-defense establishment. To the smartest woman in the world and her then-boyfriend, the path to changing what they hated was clear: Get power and hold onto it no matter what it takes!

What it took in Arkansas was first learning and then becoming a scandal expert. Within months of taking up residence in the White House, Hillary put her expertise to work.

In May 1993, the co-president was accused of having a central hand in firing several long-time employees of the White House Travel Office, the better to give the pricey travel business to her Hollywood pals, Linda Bloodworth Thomason and Harry Thomason. In true scandal-mode form, Hillary denied everything and when Whitewater Independent Counsel Robert Ray investigated Travelgate, he concluded that there was substantial evidence that involved Hillary but not enough to warrant an indictment.

A couple of months later, in July 1993, White House Deputy Counsel Vince Foster was said to have committed suicide, although the case for his murder has been made persuasively by, among others, Christopher Ruddy, in his 1993 book, "The Strange Death of Vincent Foster: An Investigation."

But the case didn't end there. In 1996, Hillary was accused by the Senate Special Whitewater Committee of ordering the removal of potentially damaging files related to Whitewater from Foster's office on the night of his death. Hillary denied everything, once again proving her adeptness in the scandal briar patch.

In June 1996, White House security head Craig Livingstone, a political operative and former bouncer, illegally obtained over 700 FBI files of mostly White House personnel from former Republican administrations. Hillary was accused of requesting the files and, in fact, hiring Mr. Livingstone, but she denied everything to yet another Independent Counsel, and Filegate became one more notch in her briar patch scandal belt.

Ultimately, her co-presidency brought about the fall of more elected and appointed members of her regime, as well as "friends” who met untimely deaths, were indicted, pleaded the fifth, fled the country, and were imprisoned, than in any administration in American history.

Staggering Numbers
Keeping in mind that Hillary – in her own "two for the price of one" pronouncement – told the nation that she would be sharing the presidency with her husband, it would beg the imaginations of even her most fervent acolytes that the tsunami of scandals that inundated the Clinton tenure somehow escaped either the notice or personal involvement of Hillary herself.

To see the shocking Scandal Index of the Clinton years, as compiled by the liberal Progressive Review (http://prorev.com) is to appreciate the Clinton's 24/7/365 belief that any progress in their leftist domestic and foreign affairs agenda could only be realized through the most nefarious activity – much of which fit neatly into the criminal category. Under the listing of "Records Set'" by the Clinton administration (read: co-presidency), Progressive Review cites the following, of which I will only list a sampling:

▪ Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates.

▪ Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation.

▪ Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify.

▪ Most number of witnesses to die suddenly.

▪ First president sued for sexual harassment.

▪ First president accused of rape.

▪ First president to be held in contempt of court.

▪ First president to be impeached for personal malfeasance.

▪ First first lady to come under criminal investigation.

▪ Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign-contribution case.

▪ Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions.

▪ Number of Starr-Ray investigation convictions or guilty pleas to date: one governor, one associate attorney general and two Clinton business partners: 14.

▪ Number of Cabinet members who came under criminal investigation: 5.

▪ Number of individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine that were convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes: 47.

▪ Number of these convictions during Clinton's presidency: 33.

▪ Number of indictments/misdemeanor charges: 61.

▪ Number of congressional witnesses who pleaded the Fifth Amendment, fled the country to avoid testifying, or (in the case of foreign witnesses) refused to be interviewed: 122.

▪ Guilty pleas and convictions obtained by Donald Smaltz in cases involving charges of bribery and fraud against former Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy and associated individuals and businesses: 15; acquitted or overturned cases (including Espy): 6.

▪ Clinton machine crimes for which convictions were obtained: drug trafficking, 3; racketeering, extortion, bribery, 4; tax evasion, kickbacks, embezzlement, 2; fraud, 12; conspiracy, 5; fraudulent loans, illegal gifts, 1; illegal campaign contributions, 5; money laundering, 6; perjury, et al.

▪ Number of times that Clinton figures who testified in court or before Congress said that they didn't remember, didn't know, or something similar: Bill Kennedy, 116; Harold Ickes, 148; Ricki Seidman, 160; Bruce Lindsey, 161; Bill Burton, 191; Mark Gearan, 221; Mack McLarty, 233; Neil Egglseston, 250; John Podesta, 264; Jennifer O'Connor, 343; Dwight Holton 348; Patsy Thomasson, 420; Jeff Eller, 697; and Hillary Clinton, 250.

Believe it or not, this exhaustive list omits even lengthier lists – on public record – of crimes investigated, public officials and reporters intimidated, threatened and muzzled, and the raft of dead people associated with the Clintons who died by guns, knives, alleged suicides, etc. See http://members.tripod.com/~rcjustice/pres.html and http://prorev.com/legacy.htm.

Apparently, the Clinton Scandal Squad enforcers believed that nothing was more important than protecting the co-presidents from realizing their relentlessly leftwing agenda – this in spite of the fact that by 1998 under the Clinton co-presidency, the GOP gained 48 seats in the House, 8 seats in the Senate, 11 governorships, and 1,254 seats in state legislatures, and that during their tenure, 439 (out of 1,998 Democrats) became Republicans as opposed to 3 Republicans who became Democrats.

Hillary's…Um…Character
Throughout her scandal-contaminated eight years in the White House, Hillary – having refined her skills in deflection, dissimulation and denial – became comfortably entrenched in her self-created briar patch. With increasing audacity and a confidence borne of "beating the system," she also displayed behavior that didn't quite rise to the level of scandal but certainly occupied other, rather lowly, categories:

Megalomania: Hillary refused to acknowledge – publicly or in print – the woman who in essence wrote her 1996 book, "It Takes a Village."

Lying: Hillary gave false testimony about her co-defendant Ira Magaziner, who helped her conduct secret meetings about her failed plan to socialize U.S. medicine.

Obstruction of Justice: the "smartest woman in the world" couldn't remember where she placed the Rose law firm billing records that were subpoenaed in 1994, until they magically reappeared two years later in the White House library.

Tastelessness: In 1999, after the wife of terrorist Yasir Arafat told the co-president that Israel was deliberately poisoning Palestinians, Hillary saw fit to embrace her. And that is not to omit what Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Michael Goodwin called her "rancid race baiting" remarks at a recent Martin Luther King Jr. celebration about Republicans running "the House" like a "plantation." Significantly, she omitted mention of the holiday that Arkansans celebrated during her years in the state house that honored Dr. King while at the same time honoring Robert E. Lee, the Confederate general who fought to allow the South to keep blacks enslaved.

Selective Amnesia: In her 2004 book, "Living History," Hillary strangely omitted mention of her own and her husband's key associates, men with whom she took numerous photographs and who donated millions of dollars to her husband's campaigns, going back to their Arkansas days. These include – among dozens of other shady characters and outright criminals – Moctar Riady, the Indonesian billionaire owner of the Lippo banking company (the partner of which is the Chinese communist government and reputedly a front for Chinese espionage), and his son James, who eventually pleaded guilty to campaign violations.

Contempt for Women: The world got its first glimpse of Hillary’s shabby character when she was co-running for the co-presidency in 1992 and – with what turned out to be supreme irony – told Steve Kroft on "60 Minutes" that she "wouldn't be some 'stand by your man' woman like [country-music icon] Tammy Wynette."

Her low regard for women continued through the 1990s as the White House went after many but certainly not all of the president's women – Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey, and Elizabeth Ward Gracen – by auditing their tax returns, and, in 1997, leaking Paula Jones' confidential tax returns to the press.

According to Candace E. Jackson in her book, “The Women Targeted by the Clinton Machine,” Hillary “was right there in the inner circle taking a lead in giving these women zero credibility, in attacking them in public and through the press and in participating in all of these scare tactics, like hiring private investigators to threaten them and follow them…[she] is either as misogynistic as her husband or she is simply willing to conspire to mistreat women if that's what it takes to preserve their political careers."

In “Hillaryland,” Ryan Lizza writes in TheNewRepublicOnline, the New York senator has many Kool-Aid-drinking “crawl-across-broken-glass-for-Hillary” types [and] a “vast political empire based in Washington and New York…she has made every effort to change her image from far-left liberal by enacting legislation with Republicans…the more right-wing the co-sponsor, the better; extra points for anyone involved with her husband's impeachment.”

But will her extreme makeover work? According to columnist Jonah Goldberg, Hillary’s recent return of a campaign contribution from Wal-Mart, on whose board she sat from 1986 until 1992, “is a perfect illustration not merely of her hypocrisy but of the quicksand she is now in. She thinks it's a winning message to say she's too good for Wal-Mart's money but not Hollywood's. That's not exactly red-state savvy.”

“The amazing thing about [Hillary],” Goldberg says, “is that she's so unappealing. Even liberals don't like what they see…at every turn, [her] Zelig-like public persona has been a fabrication – either by her fans, her enemies or herself…”

All of which may explain a recent CNN-Gallup poll in which 51 percent of respondents said they definitely would “not vote” for Hillary in a presidential race.

Indeed, according to an online conservative site, even “media liberals are starting to jump ship” on Hillary, with “one CNN veteran [Ken Bode] calling her a `certain loser,’ a Newsweek scribe [Jonathan Alter] warning that she'll take Democrats on a `kamikaze’ mission in 2008,” and arch-leftist Maureen Dowd of the Clinton-fawning New York Times batting her away as one would an irritating gnat.

Hillary’s…Um…Style
Equally difficult to overcome, however, are unfortunate personality traits that Hillary has none-too-convincingly tried to conceal from the public. While decades have passed since she was labeled “Sister Frigidaire” in her high school newspaper, her image of being cold, robotic and inaccessible continues to this day.

Some critics have called her angry, impatient, given to temper outbursts, calculating, opportunistic, and a chronic victim, but Tim Cavanaugh of www.reason.com said, “Plainly put, it's her personality... She still lacks a key quality that a politician can't achieve through hard work: likeability.”

Indeed, it’s difficult to like someone who constantly patronizes her audiences, speaking ever so slowly so that the stupid masses will “get” what the smartest woman in the world is saying. Or when she uses her alienating alternative oratorical style, which consists solely of the strident, the screechy and the preachy.

Expanding on the Zelig multiple-personality comparison, author and political commentator Kate O’Beirne calls Hillary a “skilled poseur,” enumerating the ways in which she takes positions “entirely at odds with the words she proclaims from the housetops.” Not the least being her advocacy for the little guy, when in fact Hillary is the second-biggest spender in the Senate after New Jersey’s Sen. Jon Corzine.

Mrs. O’Beirne cites Hillary’s “Liberal Quotient” from the Americans for Democratic Action, which was 95 last year, tied with far-left Senators Barbara Boxer and Richard Durbin, and her lifetime ADA rating of 95, which outscores both Senators Ted Kennedy (89.16) and John Kerry (88.7). NARAL scored her a perfect 100 percent since her election to the senate, and the National Rifle Association gave her the grade of “F.”

Although Hillary would like the public to believe that she is a born-again hawk when it comes to the military, O’Beirne reports that the conservative American Security Council gave her “a measly 20 percent on national-security issues” and states that “her ersatz hawkishness is one of tepid gestures and hollow speechifying.”

Another example of her counterfeit hawkishness was demonstrated when she denounced the recent election of the terrorist group Hamas in Palestinian parliamentary elections, which led terrorism expert Steven Emerson to remind the public that, while co-president, Hillary met repeatedly with "groups that had openly supported Hamas, Hezbollah and other foreign terrorist organizations,” including, among many others, the militant Islamic Relief Association and The American Muslim Council, whose followers carried out the 1993 World Trade Center bombings.”

“A review of the statements, publications and conferences of the groups Mrs. Clinton embraced,” said Mr. Emerson, “shows unambiguously that they have long advocated or justified violence. By meeting with these groups, the first lady lent them legitimacy.”

Today, John Spencer, the former Mayor of Yonkers, NY, and a Vietnam combat veteran who will challenge Hillary in the November senate race (www.joinspencer.com) has accused the smartest woman in the world of accepting money from wealthy businessmen Hassan Nemazee and Faraj Aalaei, who are both associated with the American Iranian Council, a pro-Iranian-regime.

“Senator Clinton voted against the very munitions necessary to avoid a nuclear confrontation with Iran,” Mr. Spencer said, ”while at the same time accepting money from supporters of the Iranian mullahs…she lacks the credibility to keep New York safe and she should return this tainted money."

Then there is Hillary’s paranoid streak, as evidenced, O’Beirne states, by “her modus operandi [which] has always been to rally troops against the enemy – whether the Clintons’ Arkansas enemies, the Gingrich forces in the House, Ken Starr and `the vast right-wing conspiracy,’ George W. Bush and his band of ideologues, or whoever will bear the Republican mantle in 2008.”

A Worm Under Every Rock
No matter where you look, Hillary’s name is associated with scandal. For one thing, she has acknowledged accepting contributions from the influence peddling, recently indicted, uber-lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

There is also, according to Carl Limbacher at NewsMax.com, the Clinton campaign-finance scandal of the late 1990s, where millions of dollars of illegal Chinese campaign cash found its way into Democratic Party and Clinton legal defense fund coffers. Worse, American missile- guidance technology was given to Beijing. This outrage may be blamed on the senator’s husband, but that won’t wash for the “two for the price of one” Scandal Queen.

That is not to omit the recently released 400-page Barrett Report. In 1995, while Independent Counsel David Barrett was investigating the president’s Housing Secretary Henry Cisneros for various crimes, he discovered that the president had used the Internal Revenue Service (headed by Hillary’s college friend, Margaret Milner Richardson), the Justice Department (headed by Clinton puppet Janet Reno), and the White House (headed by co-presidents Bill and Hillary) to audit political enemies, particularly the women who had accused the president of sexual harassment and even rape.

Clintonista Democrats have tried for 10 years to have the parts of the Barrett Report that dealt with these matters redacted, and they succeeded. But Republican Senators Charles Grassley, Chairman of the House Finance Committee, and James Sensenbrenner, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, have both stated publicly that they are determined to get the entire report released.

The redacted portions must be pretty explosive because as columnist Tony Snow has noted, the “report is a bombshell, capable possibly of wiping out Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential prospects.”

The Nemesis Who Won't Go Away
Increasingly, Hillary and company have projected onto Republicans the “the culture of corruption” mantra and, onto President Bush, the “I” word – impeachment. This is to deflect attention away from Hillary’s latest scandal, one in which she will undoubtedly deny everything to escape accountability or even criminal indictment.

In short, Hillary’s current nemesis, Peter Paul – the largest single campaign contributor to her 2000 Senatorial campaign – has filed a suit against her and President Clinton – among many others.

According to Mr. Paul, the suit is “for committing a series of business frauds against me that involved me spending more than $1.2 million for Hillary's Senate campaign; having a Clinton front man go into business with my Japanese investor partner, causing the collapse of my public company; and filing fraudulent reports to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in the amount of nearly three-quarters-of-a-million dollars.”

Today, all of the many codefendants in the case – except Hillary – have exhausted their appeals and are now poised for discovery and trial, the schedule for which will be set by the court after a hearing on Hillary’s anti-SLAPP motion in Los Angeles in March.

NOTE: SLAPP suits, or Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, are recognized in California as lawsuits that are brought against individuals, corporations or organizations in an attempt to silence defendants who speak out on matters of public concern. An anti-SLAPP motion seeks to strike all claims against a defendant – in this case, Hillary herself!

Initially, Hillary’s anti-SLAPP motion appeal was denied by both trial and appellate courts but then sent back to the trial court to clarify a discrepancy. But on February 3, 2006, the judge changed his original ruling. He ignored the tardiness of Hillary’s original filing and agreed to allow her to argue that her 1st Amendment rights (to conduct her senatorial campaign) included her own and her husband’s right to defraud her largest contributor. This action will allow Mr. Paul’s lawyers to depose Hillary. [Read more about this case in Part II of this series].

As the disposition of Hillary’s appeal approaches, the Clintons, their lawyers and spinners, as well as their echo chamber in what used to be the "mainstream" media – but is now known as the Old Media and even the Antique Media – are using all of their formidable resources to make sure that Hillary dodges yet another scandal.

Sound familiar? This is exactly what the leftwing media did when they tried to smear Paula Jones when she accused the Philander-in-Chief of sexual harassment. What they didn't count on, however, was that Mrs. Jones had the truth on her side and believed so fervently that justice would be served that she refused to knuckle under to their unceasing assaults.

Today, Peter Paul (http://www.hillcap.org) also refuses to be intimidated by the Clinton machine and is equally assured that justice will out. He has become yet another Clinton nemesis who won't go away.

Do you know the difference between a Lawyer laying on the road and a dead rattlesnake laying on the road ?

The rattlesnake has skid marks in front of it, where someone tried to avoid hitting it.

Sorry I didn't get back with you on that sooner. Busy with house hold chores for awhile.
If Hillary gets the nomination, you have given us an excellent preview of what the Republican smear machine will attempt to do to her. Thank you for the advance warning.
Most of the voters won't be impressed: they will asked themselves one basic queation; has she ever been indicted or convicted of anything? The answere is NO and they will blow off material such as you have just posted as just so much more Republican dirty tricks.
If Obama gets the nomination, I fully expect to see you guys to try to paint him as a closet Muslim who is out to destroy America from within. Good luck with that too. You guys are a bunch of losers!
America is sick and tired of the Republican fascist regime and will vote any Democrat into office over any Republican!

They sure are sore losers, guess their mom's and dad's didn't teach them any sportmanship.

[An angel of the Lord said,] "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." I'm blessed with employment that provides, with minimal cost to me, good medical, dental, and eye care, but I have no ill feelings toward others who do not have the same "luxury", and do not have the feelings that you so proudly post, of wishing to denying them of their self worth.

I have always worked and carried the health insurance for my family. Once my daughters age disallowed them to continue being on my coverage, they have obtained care through the health department...welfare to you. I'm so very thankful that they can be provided healthcare, otherwise, they would not be. Now, are you going to tell me that I'm not a responsible citizen? Have you not read me over the years? Do you think I would place a burden upon you, or anybody else for that matter, so that I could live off your hard work and labor?

The bible clearing states we are to take care of the widows and the orphans. Look at those two words with feeling, and not just a description from the dictionary.

Is there not one day, one morning/afternoon, or one hour for that matter, that you and McBurd, and S*, can stop posting mean and hateful thoughts to be spread throughout this blog? Would you share some of the joy that may be in your tiny grinch hearts? There must be something, even if it's buried deep inside of you.

For just this one day, when I offer this peace treaty to you, please, won't you take it?

Tis better to give than receive. Give us some joy and happiness.

There are some very nice mobile homes. Even some of the older ones are good if they are well kept up. I was referring to the type of house trailer you see in some rural ares with ice boxes in the side yard, broken down cars in the front yards with their Bush/Cheney 2000 bumper stickers still on the sides of their trailers. If you have removed your Bush/Cheney bumper sticker from your house trailer than this would not have applied to you.
BTW, I have another truck load of Republican sub prime mortgage paper for you at our usual price of 10 cents on the dollar. Some of your Republican friends paid me 500 dollars just to get it out of their offices. Just look outside your house trailer, my driver is dropping it off now in your front yard. Have a nice day!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Sunday stepped back from a pledge to halt U.S. imports of Chinese-made toys because of safety concerns.

Instead, the Illinois senator, who is in a tight race with Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York to win the Democratic presidential nomination, reiterated his longstanding call for barring toys with more than a trace amount of lead.

If you have a non functioning ice box in your side yard, one or more broken down cars in your front yard, AND YOU STILL HAVE YOUR BUSH/CHENEY 2000 BUMPER STICKER ON THE SIDE OF YOUR TRAILER HOUSE, then you too, McBurd, are a wanna be Republican!!

Reminds me of when one daughter would get caught doing something wrong, she would never repent, but was quick to point out the errors of her sister.

God Bless You, D___Cactus

May your holidays be filled with love and joy towards all mankind.

Good morning Dems!

Tech giants changing hue, from red to blue

The three Northwest companies are not alone, as many other corporate and industry PACs have increased contributions to the Democrats who now control Congress and reduced support for the Republican minority.

"Regaining their majority has been very good for the Democrats financially and the shift happened almost immediately," explained Ritsch.

His organization produced a study last month that showed left-leaning interest groups spending more at this point than in past political cycles, right-leaning groups spending less and almost all groups shifting some of their contributions from Republicans to Democrats.

Even so, the shifts at Microsoft, Amazon and T-Mobile have been more dramatic than at many other high-tech firms, according to Ritsch's group.

Calling Western Washington's political donors "a pretty deep shade of blue" for their support of Democrats, Ritsch said the change in power is giving liberals a chance to use the PACs in a more partisan way than they could when Republicans ruled the roost.

"For a lot of companies the change in power has allowed them to show their true colors. ... It's an opportunity to support politicians whom the employees agree with ideologically," he said.

and I love this quote from Chris Vance (former State Repub. chairman

Republican Vance agreed.

"That's absolutely true. It drives Republicans crazy that the (Seattle area) business community doesn't seem as interested in business issues as they are in other issues," he said, citing the environment, education and social policy.

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, [a] Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

God keeps His promises. He gave us our redeemer, and He shall return again.

The meek shall inherit the earth, so please be kind to it and to all who inhabit it.

Blessings to each and everyone who reads here today.

Enjoy the day. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
