Kicking Ass: The Democratic Party's Blog

Dissent Among the Ranks?

Yesterday I mentioned Huckabee's flip-flop on immigration. After his top immigration surrogate claimed he supported a constitutional amendment to deny birthright citizenship -- and after his campaign refused to back away from it -- they later put out a statement reversing his position.

Now the "surrogate," James Gilchrist, isn't talking. The Washington Times reported today that he "did not respond to repeated phone calls and e-mails yesterday asking about the discrepancy."

But, the piece continues, "in a 42-minute telephone call Sunday Gilchrist told The Times that Mr. Huckabee promised [a SCOTUS test case and an amendment to the Constitution]."

Said Gilchrist: "The guy looked me right in the eye."

The statement they issued clearly isn't enough -- the campaign still has a lot to explain.

McCain believes we should continue to build Iraq until it is a GREAT NATION. Iraq will turn on us if we don't get out of there. Iraq will wait until we (The Great United States) are in ruin. Then the Wealthy Nations of the East will attack us.

We Democrats and Republicans needs to vote wise for someone that wants to build America until everyone is working and eating well and has the ability to get the best health care....And every Nation will love and envy us for our wise and thoughtful leaders.

Vote for Hillary Clinton and we will have just that.

I am urging you to stand for true border security and no amnesty for illegal aliens.

Americans aren’t fooled by those candidates who proudly declare they are for border security when in reality what they really support is akin to "blanket amnesty". Border security does not include amnesty, and it’s time to break away from those who believe they are one in the same.

Have the courage to listen to the American people who have loudly and clearly made their desires on border security clear. True border security-without an amnesty option is the only option, and I urge you to publicly champion such a measure.
