Huckabee Loves Gifts

Posted by Michael Link on January 14, 2008 at 01:20 PM

Mike Huckabee recalls the tale thusly: "At a campaign stop in Michigan yesterday, a woman came up to me and said 'I don't have any money but I want to give you something for the campaign.' Then she reached out to me and gave me a gold ring."

And then, Mike Huckabee, the man known for his questionable habit of accepting gifts inappropriately, took it. And it appears he took it without asking the questions that would allow it to be reported as an in-kind contribution.

Just add that to the list of gifts he took as governor:

- A $1,000 pair of cufflinks
- Tens of thousands of dollars of clothing
- Gift certificates to sporting goods stores
- Gift certificates to clothing boutiques
- Gift certificates to Wal-Mart
- A $3,695 pair of cowboy boots
- A $500 belt
- 200 copies of a book Huckabee wrote
- Flowers
- Air travel
- Pastries
- Clothing
- Parties

That's scary, but nothing compared to what that right wing nut said last night. He said when he takes office, he will change the constitution to what he says "in league with God's law". Which I think is very Nazi of him to do that. Huckabee deserves to not only lose but to never be President for that type of an statement. We need to do everything we can to prevent someone like Huckabee from winning. To think that this is the twenty first century and we still have to deal with these right wing nuts and religious zealots trying to force their way of life on other people in this country.
