Another Principle Gets Tossed Out the Window

The disgraced Tom DeLay is now stumping for McCain in Arizona. DeLay once said that he "might have to sit this one out" if McCain won the nomination.
Flashback . . .
During a private luncheon with Republican chiefs of staff on Capitol Hill, DeLay — who has criticized McCain for years — stepped up his attacks in the wake of the senator’s reemergence as a top presidential contender. DeLay said McCain has no principles and indicated he would not endorse the senator if he won the GOP primary.
“If McCain gets the nomination, I don’t know what I’ll do,” DeLay said at the Capitol Hill Club, according to a source in the room. “I might have to sit this one out.”
He added that a McCain triumph for the GOP nomination would destroy the Republican Party.

Crawl back to whatever rock he was under, I hope.
I respect John MCain for his service to this country but his politics do not reflect the same honor. This is indicative of the current Republican Party character and culture - enough is enough!
It must be that magic elixer that the Republicans have been passing around...

McCain will be well advised to stay away from a sleeze ball like Tom Delay. McCain has won primaries because of his honesty and respecttibility. If he is seen to be cohorting with the likes of Delay, he will be dead meat.
Another Principle Gets Tossed Out the Window Maybe their learning from the by-laws comm. of the DNC that decided they were only too happy to disenfranchise voters, not the power structure, but the voters of Michigan by taking our votes. I am one of many pissed off Michiganders who are going to vote for McCain in November because we are tired of being blue and screwed by this party. You don't care about the "people" in MI? Fine, we'll give Michigan to McCain in November.
We want a redo, with a full and complete ballot, and we want YOU to pay for it since YOU decided to use tactics that would make communist Russia blush. Maybe we should be grateful you didn't try to poison us. McCain 08

I didn't know that the Republicans had any principles left to toss out the window.
As for McCain winning primaries for his honesty, he has been flip-flopping on positions that he is only honest maybe half the time. Though, I suppose that that's more honest than most Republicans.
The problem is which of his positions is he being honest about?

Another Principle Gets Tossed Out the Window. You mean like the right to vote? I am one of many pissed of Michiganders that are tired of being blue and screwed by this party. You didn't punish the power structure in MI, you punished "the people" who had not one voice in the whole matter. Many of us are angry enough that we fully intend to vote for McCain in November. It is the only option you left to WE the people of MI.
MI deserves a redo with a real ballot, and we want YOU to pay for it since you and your national candidates decided you would all rather disenfranchise the people of MI protect Iowa & NH's "privileged status".
Thanks to Democrats like Bill Clinton, you passed NAFTA and destroyed all the jobs and the economies in MI, OHio, and WI; and now you want my vote.
McCain in 08 Lets see Hillary or Obama win without MI.
The Republicans are desperate, plain and simple. Huckabee doesn't stand a chance and McCain is the only option, even if he may not be the Republican candidate's first choice. It is quite interesting how this is becoming a two-way street, as McCain has recently begun to develop stronger party loyalties in order to realign himself with conservatives. Make no mistake: despite McCain's stamp of "independent", he supports two of the most dangerous policies in the administration right now; extending the war in Iraq indefinitely and continuing Bush's tax cuts (read: destroying the economy and leaving the middle class out to dry). That reeks of blind Bush-esque conservatism, if you ask me.

I, as a Michigan Democrat, find it stange that my party speaks of principle. Why do we not count. Is Iowa special? It is my hope that Florida and Michigan will unite and have their own convention to select just whom should appear on their respective ballots as Democrats in November. It won't take to many angery Michigan Democrats in November to turn this state RED.
If the Dems seat the FL and MI delegations at the convention, we won't be able to decry others abandonment of principle.
I cannot believe Tom Delay is not UNDER THE JAIL. How is it possible for this person to still be getting any kind of play at all? He is a criminal against the people of the United States, not to mention the government. He was involved in so much ilk, deceit, and thievery that it is just unbelievable that anyone, any politician, and anyone with any bit of self respect would be involved with him. Who the hell cares what Tom Delay has to say ! As far as I'm concerned he is FIRED, and BANISHED !
All the good people should have the same kind of nerve that he has.
Was DeLay a champion of the Democrats those days?
Nice choice if so......
Delay a sleaze ball? I guess Bill and Hillary Clinton are of the highest class---only if your talking about trailer park residents. Get a grip and pass the cigars!!! ... now where did I place my intern.
USAirForceReserveMajor(usafrmajor):
Get a clue, fly boy, the last 7 years of sleaze and slime coming from the Greedy Old Pervert(GOP) party and the Bush (mis)administration hasn't made William J look like a rank amateur as far as sleaze and slime. Methinks that you have been sniffing too many JP4 fumes.
