He Already Quit His Day Job
McCain got lost on his way to the Senate floor:
McCain has missed 255 of 450 votes cast in the Senate since January 2007, including every vote this year until Thursday's. That's according to the Democratic National Committee, which keeps a tally."It's very hard, obviously. I've missed a lot of votes, and there's no doubt about it," the Arizona senator told reporters Wednesday during a flight from Phoenix to Washington.

in the military we call this ROAD (retired on active duty)
If he's a ROAD senator, does that mean that he's going to be a ROAD president and snooze away while our country sinks slowly into the sea?
I never had any respct for ROAD soldiers, and tried to not become one even after I put in my paperwork for retirement.
But then I'm not a Republican politician either. I like being able to face myself in the mirror every morning.
Dear Tom McMahon,
I am not writing in supporrt of any campaign but in support of clarity and justice in politics especially within our own party.
There have been too many dirty tricks used by the Clinton campaign in these primaries so far. Let me note just a few: The smear-mail at the 11th hour concerning choice in New Hampshire, the smear-mail about Yucca Mountain in Nevada, the clearly coded racist remarks by Bill Clinton before North Carolina, the re-use of the choice smear-mail in Connecticut, the continuing attempt to seat the delegates that were excluded from Michigan and Florida which were slanted by Clinton disregarding the party rules, and these are simply the ones I can name from memory.
How can you possibly write to me asking again for money as if I should simply tow the line like a good Republican (I mean Democrat) oops am I in the right party? Clinton started out as a Republican and she is returning to her roots by bullying and cheating her way to power. Is the DNC going along with this?
Sincerely,
While McCain has certainly been AWOL much more often than Clinton or Obama, their Senate attendance has hardly been stellar.
There is a big differeence between "less than stellar" and malfeasance in office.
When you're planning a 100 Years War, some corners need to be cut.
It makes me wonder what else he plans to neglect here at home when he takes up his standard and starts marching across the globe looking for a fight with any and all he meets.
Putin is ready for him.
And the Chinese may be ready, too, if we don't start paying back the money they loaned Bush more quickly. Bush's newest recession and inflationary spiral is spreading around the world to China. They're going to get their pound of flesh...one way or another.
Bomb, bomb, bomb Moscow and Beijing?
And how many votes have Obama and Clinton missed?
All three of them should have their pay docked for every vote / day of work they miss. Last I checked, all three were in the same senate, and I suspect will have an equally miserable voting record. Anybody care to check this out and have the guts to post? Oh wait, I'll do it.
The facts are that Obama missed 174 votes and Clinton missed 112. McCain missed an astonishing 257. I would note that Biden missed 175 and Dodd missed 166.
Hmmmmm. Seems to me that they are ALL scumbags and that they should all be held accountable for their failure to do their duty. But that's just me.
No, no, no, you've got him all wrong. McCain is on Legislative leave to avoid any conflict of interest in voting on legislation that he may have to deal with, one way or another, when he becomes president. He doesn't want to inject any partiality into the legislative agenda, and therefore, finds it necessary to circumvent any such measures that come to the Senate floor that he deems necessary to avoid making a stand.
Okay, or maybe he either lost the keys to his office, or just can't remember where the **** his office is, or maybe in his push for delegates he finds it necessary to delegate his voting responsibilities to a lower staff member, or maybe it's because he's John McCain and he knows he's supposed to be someplace...but where, and why, and he really wishes he bought five more of those Persian carpets when he had the chance, but...damn there seemed to be so much on his mind, but...what the hell was it and where is he...and...
You get my drift?
If you really want to beat John McCain – fix the mess with Florida and Michigan by upholding the rules – AND – Uphold the rules for super delegates – AND BE VOCAL ABOUT IT. OR the party is going to split and lose in November. This war between our candidates is splitting the party again – just like Ted Kennedy did in the 80 campaign – recruiting a bunch of kids which is great but causing a HUGE divide in the party. If their candidate doesn’t win the nomination we lose another generation of kids for 40 years.
Our Democratic Leadership is letting the press run our party into the ground. The DNC needs to DO SOMETHING. Get vocal about WHY and HOW Michigan and Florida lost their delegates. GET EVEN MORE VOCEL ABOUT HOW AND WHY SUPERDELEGATES WORK! Force the super delegates to back their candidate NOW – don’t drag this out to the convention. If the super delegates were elected then the people who elected them will listen to their leadership. If the super delegates are just politicking to get an appointment from the winner then they are just spineless and are not leaders at all.
Stick with the rules. If you don’t then once again our party is the flip flop party and belongs on the beach with a bong and a beer like the Republicans think we do.
A Few ideas to stop the bleeding… to focus and beat MCCain:
1. Have a new primary in Florida and Michigan – I know it is expensive and probably impossible to get the states to do. But this will keep the people who will win the election in November involved in our party nomination process and get their votes in November. If you don’t fix Florida at least – we will lose to McCain – and you know it.
2. Force the super delegates to pull the trigger on their choice in March – this will stop the infighting before we destroy ourselves. McCain is loving the fact that the party will be bankrupt from infighting before the election.
3. Stop the negative rhetoric coming out of the Obama group – when Barack stands up on national TV and says Hillary can’t win against McCain because the voters he is attracting will not vote for her – he is chipping away and destroying the party. Stop Obama from feeding the media this kind of message – by the way he lost my vote with this comment alone – I am a yellow dog democrat and for the first time in my life I will not vote if Obama keeps this up.
4. Get both candidates back into the debate cycle to keep the airtime focused on the benefits of the Democratic party. When we hold debates we get to touch more people without spending a dime – the Republicans are done – they have to buy airtime now. We get airtime for FREE when our candidates debate! If Obama is really the UNITER he claims to be - he needs to unite our party first not tear it apart – make him agree to the debates.
What do you mean Obama's feeding the media rhetoric?!! Tell that WITCH Hillary to stop spreading lies about Obama, calling his supporters delusional for believing all of his "hope" and "change" talk. NOTHING is false and naive about Barack Obama, he has done nothing wrong or said nothing false about Hillary, it's her with her smear campaigns and her devisive politics that will split the Democratic party up!!!

Annora, are you really that ignorant? Do you actually believe what Clinton is saying in her mail that slanders Obama? You seem to have not paid attention to politics for the last year. Obama is not Muslim, never has been, and never will be. Just because he has an uncommon first name in America and Hussein is in his middle name does not mean he is Muslim. People who act like you are what is splitting this party apart. You make false assumptions and accusations that will lead you to not vote for a man. Read a little about the man before you post more of these ignorant comments.
To HOWARD DEAN, OR WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE At 58 I have never been more serious about anything more than I am about this----get the super deligates to agree to ALL VOTE WITH THEIR STATE. This is our chance---and the only way they are not going to tear our party apart is to VOTE WITH THEIR STATE----AGREED TO BY ALL AHEAD OF TIME. COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY. No one can feel hurt, at a time that at least 50% of us are passionate for our candidate to win, and emotions are running higher than ever before. This is what we need, DON'T LET THE SUPER DELEGATES TURN IT AGAINST US. THEY MUST VOTE WITH THEIR CONSTITUANTS, to alleviate ANY impropriaty They must agree and announce ahead of time what they are going to do. It would be a WIN/WIN.
Our democratic party comes out to actually represent the people and the vote would be openly fair, and this will attract more to vote for our congressional and senate candidates.
I am sorry if I offended anyone, I have never posted on a blog before.
Oh yea, solve Florida and Michigan by paying to conduct caucuses, therefore not tapping into the taxpayers money. or stick by the rules you laid out. show that we abide by the rules, at least our own.
If Obama is the Democratic nomination, it'll be a piece of cake for John McCain to win. History REPEATS itself.
As you can see, in New Hampshire the independents abandoned him, for McCain. When the fight heats up, they'll abandon HIM for McCain again.
I believe most independents are Republican-drop outs.
McCain is too old and too slow.
Our best bet for experience and a level head is Hillary.
She is as kind and loving as an angel untill you fight her, then she can stand tall and explain her position that makes SO MUCH SENSE , you are convinced to accept her reasoning.
Hillary for Prez and Obama for VPrez and let's just all SHUT UP!!
It's a great ticket. Experince + change = winning ticket.
Dont call Hillary a Witch!! For 35 years, the Clintons have supported the cause of struggling Americans. They wake up every morning, believing, in the American Dream, for all. They have my respect.
Obama, great voice, but no deeds to back the man up, with a passion to change the world. It'd be so nice if he helped feed the poor or visit the prisons, but he doesnt even have that record.
He's a great talker, but not much action.
Well, you know, it's nice for Obama to talk about hope, but what are his plans? With Obama, WE are not going to go as far as we can. He'll slow the 'success' probability down. He'll have to ride the learning curves.
He was clueless when they ask about what it means to be a Prez.. he said it's someone with a vision or something like that...
It was Hillary who said it's more than a vision, you have to be able to undertand and partake in the legislation process too...
Do you want someone who has experience operating on someone witha serious heart attack? or do you want a NEW doctor on the scene?
What is Obama's passion? What issues are important to the man? All I hear about is that he wants to be President. What does he live for?
If you are passionate about something, you join a club and make a difference. Ihavent heard anything about his experience.
Bill Clinton? He was a governor. He made a difference in the lives of people in his state. He made a difference from 1992-2000. He's a steward of change for the better.
What about Obama? I guess the question we have to answer a question, once asked by former Prez Bush I, during the Invasion I of Iraq...
Support the devil we know (Saddam) or the devil we dont know..... at least we know where Saddam hides and what his tactics are..
With Obama, we wotn know anything about the man... I dont know why he doesnt do more, for his 3 years in the Senate. He didnt even go out of the country and do international travels. I just dont understand the man.. how can you not prepare yourself and one day, just wake up and run for Prez?
Yeah, with our debt, it's scary. We have a huge debt. How are we going to pay it off? We need the Clintons to create jobs and grow the economy, to pay off our debts.
We dont need tax cuts and more borrowing.. who is going to pay the bills?
THis is what Obama said about Hillary==> Democrat Barack Obama said Sunday it is difficult for Hillary Rodham Clinton "to break out of the politics of the past," when the country was badly divided and Democrats lost control of Congress while her husband was president. "
I find it amazing that he can say whatever he wants about Hillary, but if Bill or anyone criticizes him and his plans for the future, they are called 'racist' and pounded for putting him down.
It's NOT difficult for Hillary to break out of the past. She's made mistakes and she's moved on. WE all have a choice to start new.
HIllary is a fighter. Obama is a problem dodger. According to the Hilalry site, he's refusing to debate. Man! These are acts of cowards? Being untrue to your beliefs?
Hope without help?
Can someone on the Obama side tell me why he is ditching debates with Hillary?
ARent these acts of cowards? Dodging the truths? MAybe he doesnt have answers to problems, so all he can do is talk about Hillary's past!! But dont talk about his past, or plans, you'll be called a 'racist'
Nikster1
I don't know how old you are, but I lived through the late 70's when Jimmy Carter was Pres. and he was no prize. Like everyone made him out to be. High inflation, caused by the dollar dropping, High interest rates, and the Irainian hostage crises. Do you know what President Carter did......absolutely nothing! Gee...I wonder why he (Obama) just skipped over Carter, and went for a man who is deceased, and only spent 3 yrs as President. What happen in the late 70's is the reason that Ronald Reagan came into office.
The same thing is happening today! The dollar dropping, prices going up, now I don't know about you but I pay rent and utilities.I don't have mommy and daddy paying for me. I have been doing this since the late 70's and into the 80's, and when the 90's came I was in heaven!
Inspiration & hope does not pay the bills! It does not put more money in my pocket!
I like Clintons plan on the foreclosures, Obama just wants to through money at it, and from what I hear that 10 billion dollars is not going to cover everybody. The other thing is why should the taxpayer be the one to bail these people out when they made the bad choice of signing that loan. When banks have free reign they can set interest rates to what ever they want especially on an adjustable mortgage. They (interest rates) don't go down, they go up and why not...is that good NO! These people preyed upon the poor and look what happen.
Martin Luther King couldn't have said it better when he said judge a man not by the color of his skin but by the contant of his charactor, well this is another reason why I am not voting for Obama.
Example: Back a few debates ago on CNN Wolf Blitzer ask him (Obama) a question about the Iranian Bill that was in the Senate. Instead of answering the question, he went into a rant/lecture about how the other 3 Senators on the stage voted. Wolf ask him if he was there for the vote. Obama's answer was NO, when Wolf asked why, he said that was the sacrifices of campaigning (in a very sarcastic way!).
Oh and by the way Nikster1 your rhetoric is some what slanted, I just got through watching Obama smear Clinton on CNN. My primary just passed I live in the state of MA, yes one of those states that voted for Clinton, my reason for voting for her is EXperience!
hey you are so stupid if you elect brackas hassaon obama,oh you didnt know his middle name is hasson, sounds to fishy for me you people stold the election from gore what are you doing now trying to buy the election has obama already promsed rice`s job to ophra and did you hear when she went through coustoms they busted her for 200lbs.of crack and i`m not talking about the drug ha ha ha take that from a redneck and a hillbilly lover
AS one poet puts it, 'One who never makes a mistake, is one who has never done anything'.
So Obama has no record? Yeah, 'cause he hasnt doen antything.
As Christains, we are not to hate the Muslims, but to help educate them in the Good News of the Saviour, Jesus Christ. God loves them as much as God loves any of us.
This whole religion will never be solved until the end of time.
I love Obama, but he HAS not proved himself. For 47 years, he hasn't done anything to prove the lives of millions yet. I want one SIGNIFICANT reoord and I cant find anything.
Oh, by the way, on CNN, Bush was mocking the DEMS on foreign policy. First and foremost, for someone who messed up the economy and messed all foreign affairs and policy, HE has no right to critique the democrats.
In fact, our foreign policy is so MESSED up, none of the Republicans have any rights to mock the DEMS. It is a MESS!!
Hillary is a better transition. We need the Clintons, more now than ever.
Obama is still young. He's a phenom, but he's going to stumble and trip all his four years and we CANT afford this, right now.
Obama and his wife were quoted that they dont know if years from now, they can still relate to the 'common' American. This shows they are not fighters of the common people. They lack the compassion of the Clintons.
A wise ruler is never out of touch with regular old Americans.
Hey Folks, I like both Obama and Hillary.
The problem with Obama is you can't express a negitive oppenion about him or the people come out of the woodwork to protest(RACE bashing)!
How can we get past that if he takes our Country in a direction we don't approve of?
Say Bush was black, with all the negitave talk about him, how would that have played with the blacks and we that are sympathic with blacks?
Folks listen to me! We can already tell, we won't be able to protest against him.
That will not work for a free nation that has free speech!!!
John McCain will be a formidable candidate. He is respected by many democrats. Because of the mess in Michigan he has a great chance of taking this state (my state). Further he will take most of the states that Senator Obama has won in the primarys. Also Florida will go to him if Hillary Clinton is not the Democratic candidate; and California might go his way if the Senator from Illinois is our candidate. Ohio is another big question. Senator Obama's polling figures nationaly against McCain are static or even worse, falling. If Hillary Clinton is not on the Democratic ticket in November we lose. If we are going to win we need to be brutally objective.
Sincerely;
Charles Bombaugh

When President
Ready on Day 1
Drive the conservatives crazy
Give us a Third Bush Term :)
Will change name to mcBushain
Yes, McCain and Hillary voted for the war, but they are NOt responsible for the consequences. Bush ran the entire war. They didnt.
The important thing about being a leader, is to make mistakes, but to grow and be #1 at the finish line.
Yes, Obama never did make mistakes, but if he is President, he'll make a lot of mistakes. I dont understand why he wants to make mistakes at the President level??
Right now, his change means nothing to me. He has not proven himself yet.
If people need an influential speaker, attend an African American church. You get the same effect :) Their pastors are AWESOME!!!
Because McCain and Hillary voted for the war, this doesnt mean, they are responsible. They didnt run it. If they did run it, then you can blame them.
