McCain Sought Hagee Endorsement

Posted by Michael Link on March 21, 2008 at 12:47 PM

It's slated to be reported in Sunday's New York Times Magazine, via Think Progress: controversial McCain supporter John Hagee says "it's true that [John] McCain's campaign sought my endorsement."

And then there's this: "Hagee refused to discuss his statement that Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for a gay rights parade in New Orleans, calling it 'so far off-base.'"

What a liar McCain is! He acts as if he didn't seek this endorsement but he did all along. And this whacko Parsley is his "spirtual advisor".

Hmmm, has anyone ever heard John McCain saying Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment? Has anyone ever heard John McCain say anything like that at all? Maybe he was there, maybe he wasn't. I'll bet he didn't hear anything like that while personally sitting in the pews. He can no more disown Hagee that he can his own grandmother. Under the Democrats' Jeremiah Wright rules, as long as he didn't personally say that, it doesn't matter. Right? Right?
