Mitt Returns??

Conservatives push Romney as VP choice:
That leads to Romney. He has run a vigorous national campaign and been vetted by the press and his opponents for the Republican nomination. These are very strong pluses. A pick who produces unhelpful surprises, as Geraldine Ferraro did in 1984 (her husband's business deals) and Dan Quayle did in 1988 (his National Guard duty), is exactly what McCain doesn't need. Romney is a known quantity.
Romney has three other add-ons. He's acceptable to conservatives and especially to social conservatives, who disproportionately volunteer as ground troops in Republican presidential campaigns. He's unflappable in debates. With the downturn worsening, the economy may surpass national security as the top issue of the campaign. And after years of success as a big time player in the global economy, Romney understands how markets work. He could shore up McCain's admitted weakness on economic issues.
Romney has allies in the Bush wing of the Republican party. President Bush favors him as McCain's veep. Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, preferred Romney over McCain in the primaries, but never endorsed him publicly. Karl Rove, the president's political strategist, has hinted that he considers Romney to be McCain's best running mate.

Yea, pick Romney. He's obviously hugely popular (sarcasm). I do see two positives though. One, he has a lot of money and will be able to infuse it into a flagging GOP campaign. And, two, every time they bring up Obama being a Muslim, the Mormonsim is vulnerable.
Sure, run two white men against at least one minority. They'll try to talk change, but actions speak louder than words.
I hope there is someone in this party who can stop the crazy, delirious ranting of her highness Hillary Clinton. Quite honestly, it is becoming embarassing to the women in the nation to have someone fulfill every female stereotype we have been fighting against. A different face and a different opinion almost daily. She needs to exercise or seek hormone replacement therapy. Is there no hope of someone making her understand that she is currently losing? Are we to continue this "Slash & Burn" philosophy all the way to the Convention? It looks like she will either find a way to steal the nomination or take the party down with her. If all else fails, after she has done the deed, she can be a VP for McCain since she admires him so much. Where is the leadership in this party? This will certainly get very ugly when demostrations & protests erupt at the convention. Where have we seen that before?
I just want to know if this is true or not. Answer anyone?
I've heard that she has hired private investigators to dig up dirt on Superdelegates. What's next? Another body?

Clinton notes pledged delegates aren't bound to a candidate
Posted: 08:27 AM ET
Clinton noted Sunday pledged delegates can still vote for whomever they choose.
(CNN) In a new interview, Hillary Clinton again seems to raise the prospect that "pledged" delegates - those awarded based on election results - might still be considered up for grabs..
"There are elected delegates, caucus delegates and superdelegates, all for different reasons, and they're all equal in their ability to cast their vote for whomever they choose," she told Newsweek in an interview published Sunday. "Even elected and caucus delegates are not required to stay with whomever they are pledged to."
After a similar reference earlier this year drew sharp criticism from Obama supporters, the Clinton campaign said that they had not been planning to try to actively convince the Illinois senator's pledged delegates to switch sides, and would not do so in the future.
Barack Obama leads Clinton among all Democratic delegates, 1,527 to 1,428, in the latest CNN count. Among pledged delegates, Obama leads Clinton 1,328 to 1,190.
I remember reading my history books and they the Republicans tried to get Romney's father George on the ticket with Nixon. But they chosed a unknown crocled governor named Agnew of Maryland.
Romney wants to be V.P., Oh I hope so because I know exactly why he didn't win, but I won't say what it is because he has no common sense and will do it again and hurt McCain. (No it has nothing to do with religion)
Gee, just when I thought the news was going to be ALL SPITZER ALL THE TIME I try to get a change on my LONG drive home from work only to hear about Obama's dopey Church affiliations. ABC news did some big story on how his church is joined at the hip with racist anti-semite Farrakhan and it's going to make Romney's Mormonism look like a sunday school picnic (pardon the obvious joke) ---
Let's hope the Jewish community doesn't pay too much attention to ABC.
Let's hope his attendance record wasn't very good. I can't even picture him there. (obama)
About Florida and Michigan. All of the voters voted knowing their vote would not count. They voted anyway to show their support. A new vote will not bring closure to the process. If the states pay, everyone will be pissed at the loss of tax $$$. The DNC doesn't have the Cash, so they say. If the campaigns pay, it might piss off some contributers. So I say, let it stand. Don't worry about the general - if they showed up in those kind of numbers when it didn't count, just think of the numbers they will show up in when it does count. The DNC is more stressed out about this than the people of MI and FL.
Hey Hillary and Obama, please do not call this the Bush economy. It is the Republican Economy.
This is where the difference is between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton. Every single bit of Senator Clinton is known. Karl Rove, Fox News Channel and every Repulican activist has defined her. Yet they haven't been able to stop her in her political progression. There was a reason Karl Rove was advising Senator Obama on how to beat Senator Clinton in the Op-ed. People including Karl Rove would have known about Pastor Wright. And they would have known all along, they can define him the way they wanted to the American public.
In the general elections Republicans will paint Pastor Wright as a radical, piece together Senator Obama's association with the Pastor, Mrs. Obama's statement how she is only now proud to be an American, Senator Obama not wearing the flag on his lapel, and on and on. Without a question it is unfair. But when have the Republicans played fair ever.
Now under cover of the Pastor Wright controversy Senator Obama gives interviews to the Chicago press where he acknowledges far more association with Rosco then he has divulged thus far.
This goes to the question of judgment. Shouldn't the Illinois Senator have addressed all these issues up front when he was not that visible a candidate. Shouldn't he have given the race speech that he will be giving tomorrow as soon as he announced his candidacy, shouldn't he have made full disclosure on his association with Rosco.
Whatever he does tomorrow, it will come through as political expediency. Whatever he does tomorrow will be viewed as defensive stand and will surely upset one large Democratic constituent or the other. And he has gone on national TV and implied he didn't know about the divisiveness of Pastor Wright's sermons. That comes through as not very believable and gives an opportunity for the press to dig further and paint it a character issue if they are able to dig up his knowledge of these sermons.
The question for the party now is, how electable is Senator Obama in the general elections.
The unfortunate fall out in all this is a lifetime of accomplishment and contribution to society by Pastor Wright has been caricaturized and demeaned. I think in tomorrow's speech the Senator has to acknowledge accept blame for this. He should have known better, he should have dealt with this issue a lot, lot better. And he has to acklowledge it.
We look like a bunch of idiots, how can any repugs expect for us to run the country if our primary's are screwed. We are great managers. The repugs are not. Howard, give FL and MI two weeks to make up their minds and lets move on. It is hurting the party more, that this isn't resolved, more than not counting the votes. Remember, the people knew their votes did not count when they voted, period end of report.
The mainstream media is on a full blast propaganda track against Senator Clinton. Of all the papers of Senator Clinton's WH days released, they focus on the Monica Lewisky issue. The more the inside the beltway media goes after Senator Clinton, more the heartland voters support Senator Clinton.
I am not sure when the main stream media will realize they have become irrelevant in the Democratic primary, much the same way Bill O', Sean, Ann Coulter and Rush became irrelevant in the Republican primaries.
Florida and Michigan voters cannot be disenfranchised. Either take the votes that have been cast or have a revote. There is a third choice, take the demographics of the two states and see how these demographics have been voting in states of similar size and use that as the basis for a propotional split of delegates and for calculation of popular vote.
There is a good chance Senator Clinton will win the popular vote; losing in Caucuses and states where Democrats have no chance of winning in the general has left her a little behind in pledged delegates. Also post Feb Super Tuesday till Ohio, she lost focus a bit and lost states like Wisconsin where she could have won.
CNN, the Obama mouthpiece has once again written off Senator Clinton- "Senator Clinton faces an uphill task". Either CNN is too dumb or their only agenda is propaganda against Senator Clinton. This is the 4th time they have written her off; maybe they do not see the polls anymore where the New York Senator in starting a surge.
The Obama campaign is throwing the "Kitchen Sink" at Senator Clinton- "the most dishonest politician". I think the Obama campaign is looking at the polls and are getting worried.
"Clinton is flawed" is from a campaign that has spoken from both sides of it mouth on all the major issues. NAFTA wink and a nod, Iraq constant shifting of position. Now the Illinois Senator's position seems not very far from that of Bush and McCain- "act based on the advice of the commanders on the ground". And the Senator started by saying he would go for an unconditional withdrawal.
This from campaign that has transformed the question of his judgement with respect to Rev. Wright to something about Rev. Wright, his white grandmother and Ms. Ferraro.
