The president remains opposed to a Senate bill that would require mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions, calling that proposal unrealistic and economically harmful, Perino said.

Since when does this administration do anything that's NOT economically harmful. In fact, everything they've done to the economy has been harmful. Doing the opposite of what they "think" will do wonders for the economy.
McNuts is well....nuts..

Me too Blue - I'm pissed and I'm bitter that the Republicans were allowed to trash this country.
280 days left before we send that Texas trailer trash back to where he and his booble head dorky wife should have never been allowed to leave. Pure trash - I spit on them.
Hi all,
I think it is absurd that Barack Obama has told the american taxpayer that he would offer to them the very same health care plans that the American taxpayer pays for that Obama and his family suffers under.
Do you realize that Obama’s health care plan that he suffers under even includes dental and vision and mental?????
My mother’s family is from big oil and are very wealthy, but because she married a military man she had the choice to chose to buy the best health care in the world because she could easily afford it, or take the tax payer supported government run health care offered to my father.
I never knew my parents to use other than the government run system, that has covered me since the day I was born and saved my life at least 3 times.
I would not want the American people to have to suffer under the same system that I have been victim of.
As I have said many times, a government run health care program, --------for the american taxpayer, -----paid for by the american taxpayer, would provide substandard care. And this would be the “big government” that I have promised would not happen with my presidency.
Signed, John McCain POW
p.s. Because of my family being so high in the military, I even had to suffer FREE health care , that litereally saved my life, (paid by the Vietnamese people), when I was at the Hanoi Hilton, when so many of my brothers who suffered and died there, did not get that free health care.

Yes, I saw that one...funny! This is the one sitcom style show that actually has enough substance that minds may be opened.
Republicans. Making us safer one mistrial at a time.
MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- A judge has declared a mistrial in the retrial of six men accused of plotting terrorist acts with al Qaeda.
The decision comes after 13 days of deliberation and marks the second time government prosecutors have failed to convince a jury that the six defendants were guilty of terror-related charges.
It is unclear whether the government will pursue a third trial against the defendants.
Sports
If we are going to connect the value of what sports a candidate likes/plays, I connect it this way.
There are TEAM sports, where everyone has to work together on the team to achieve a goal.
Then there are individual sports, where a person pits himself/herself against other individuals to achieve a goal.
The next time you look at a politician and how they like to personally compete, whether on debate teams, sports teams, bowling , golf, bicycling----would you want to have someone who wants to be part of a team and include you, or compete as an individual, against you?
Even more interesting is looking back at previous presidents and their preferred way to compete in sports.
Most Republicans like individual sports, pitting themselves against others, while most
Democrats have consistently preferred team sports.

No offense intended, but what do 'sports' have to do with selecting the best president?
Posted by wcr on April 16, 2008 at 03:23 PM
Interesting? As in unbelievable fiction?
Paul v. Clinton is a civil suit filed in 2004 and currently being held in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The plaintiff Peter Paul, alleges that President Bill Clinton and his wife, First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, deceived him into paying for the Gala Hollywood Farewell Salute to President Clinton, during Hillary Clinton's first Senate race in 2000, by making a promise that the President would work for Paul's company, Stan Lee Media, after his Presidential term was over. Paul alleges that the President broke his promise and stole his business partner, causing his business to crumble and, further, that his contributions to Hillary Clinton's campaign were falsely reported to the Federal Election Commission.[1] Besides the Clintons, three other individuals who were involved in fundraising or the gala, are named as defendants in the suit.[2]
In April 2006 the judge in the case dismissed all charges against Hillary Clinton,[2] for lack of evidence[2] and due to a California law that broadly protects political activities.[3] Paul filed an appeal of the decision to dismiss her from the case. A hearing was held on September 7, 2007;[3] on October 16, 2007, the appeal was denied by California's Second District Court of Appeal, which upheld the lower court's opinion and said that Hillary Clinton could recoup her legal costs.[4] After the ruling, Paul said he would consider a further appeal to the Supreme Court of California.[4] Most but not all of the charges against President Clinton have also been dismissed by the court, on procedural grounds.[3]
Did you guys read this bullshit on the previous thread?
Who wrote this? Jesus..is this utopia or is it a letter from the Mormon compound in Texas?
The only blessed people living in small town, america are the crooks and the crack heads. "We're Blessed"...what a bunch of bullshit. You can't feed your kids, there's a danger you'll lose your house or have, can't afford healthcare and there are no jobs. The mill is closed, the plant is closed and the only decent job is working at Walmart, part time.
Solace and comfort from your neighbor and community?
My ass...your neighbor is checking out your ride on, if you got one and can afford it, and trying to figure out how he can lift it, advertise it on Craigs List and sell it so he can make next months house payment.
There may be comfort in numbers. Maybe you can all sit around and bitch about how shitty things are. That I guess, is community spirit. But, the facts are and the bottom line is..survival. Poverty and dispare are nothing to promote as a bond.
Unless of course you are a victim.
We count ourselves so very lucky to be able to live in a small town with a solid sense of community and American core values of hard work and faith. A place to live where sharing, caring and God loving abound! Where we have the freedom to work and play. Where we can hunt and fish and live as we please. We are not bitter we are BLESSED!

The constant "loop" on cable news showing Obama bowling badly and saying that it was his bad attempt at "reaching" the Pennsylvania people that are sportsmen (hunters)
The post was in response---tongue in cheek, as I agree completely----SPORTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SELECTING THE BEST PRESIDENT
but if they want to use sports, because so many "flyover states" are great sportsmen, to determine a good candidate, I wanted to put a different perspective on HOW USING SPORTS TO PICK A PRESIDENT COULD REALLY BE USED.
SPORTS Individual sports vs team sports, what does that show about a persons belief on competition.
competition ie/foreign policy
can actually be used for most any issue
competition example from earlier post:
individual: I get taxpayer paid health care, you don't
team player: WE get taxpayer paid health care, we will make it work, together

It's very sad when many people would sooner elect Larry the Cable Guy president than anyone actually qualified for the position.

Where we can hunt and fish and live as we please.
"OH, give me a home, where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play"
The water is polluted, the fish are dying and have mercurial levels that make their teeth silver. When you shoot a deer the meat has to be tested so that you don't get "mad deer disease" and there still is a chance that, that duck or pheasant you shot, has avian flu.
Does living as you please include drinking as many beers as you can in an hour so you don't have to think about being unemployed or your wife leaving you for the neighbor with the ride on lawn mower?
Rep. Jack Murtha, who has endorsed Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, introduced the New York senator at a Washington appearance Wednesday with the observation that Sen. John McCain is too old to be president. “It’s no old man’s job,” said Murtha.
McCain is 72, three years younger than Murtha, a powerful Democratic congressman from Pennsylvania. Murtha said the demands of the office were too much for men of their age.
If he were elected, McCain would be the oldest first-term U.S. president in history.
Naw Dave. I think by "hunting", the poster means looking for work, and "fishing" means dumpster diving for food. That is Bush-America. The land of the impoverished, home of the foreclosed.
The poster would rather trash another democratic candidate than work together to make this country great again.
Anyone looking forward to tonight as much as I am? I think this will be a fun one to watch and see what all Hillary says. It will be interesting to see if she gets booed again as well for going so negative.
We are not bitter we are BLESSED!
I saw a sign like this once. It was on a Trailer in a old dilapitated Trailer park! The guy hanging out the door in his undershirt had a cig in one hand, a beer in the other!
Wonder if he got a computer and is bloggin these days?

Doin time now in savemejesus, arkansas.
The guy hanging out the door in his undershirt had a cig in one hand, a beer in the other!
Have you been around my place on a Saturday??
I really do not have much of interest in this debate and I have watched every single one up to this point. For this Democrat who votes straight party ticket, Barack Obama is no longer a viable candidate for me. To many wrong words, wrong responses and wrong behaviors have come to light for me. If the Democratic Party wants my vote in November for the Presidential then they will have to place Hillary Clinton's name on that ballot for me to vote for. I will not be voting for Barack Obama if it is there. I am not the only small town American who has come to this conclusion. I suspect a large number of Americans everywhere agree with me.
Why Shouldn't We Be Bitter ?
With the critical Pennsylvania primary a week away, this is the Obama sentence that, as Thurber would say, has torn up the peapatch: "It's not surprising then that they [small town people] get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
The response to this by the media and the attempts to exploit Obama's words by Senators Clinton and McCain have been mind shattering in their hypocrisy and cynicism. As political operative Bob Shrum wrote in The Huffington Post, "Ironically, Obama's the one raised by a single mother. He's the one who only recently finished paying off his student loans. He doesn't know what it's like to have $100 million. The opponents who are attacking him are the ones who inhabit that financial neighborhood."
First, place Senator Obama's words in greater context. Here is more of what he ACTUALLY said,
Sorry people but Obama is wrong. Why can’t Obama just say sorry with out it being small town peoples fault? Also what is wrong are all these talking heads and media hounds spinning Obama's words as not being offensive but instead are right and true. Please no more spin! I also am really tired of them telling me how I feel!
Who I am one of the "THEY" Obama was sharing to his "WE" buddies about. What they all have wrong is that I am not bitter towards my country or my government or for that matter any other race of people, any other country or any other neighbors! Not city folk, Not Hispanic folk, Not black folk, Not foreigners! All are welcome in my small town and in my church where you will get and invite for dinner! We do have people in hard times around here and other who are not but we help each other through such times. We do want more jobs but not anymore or less then any other part of this great country.
Obama Foxworthy in Frisco
You might be a redneck if you are from a small town.
You might be a redneck if you don’t wanna work.
You might be a redneck if you buy my talking points hook line and sinker.
You might be a redneck if you are bitter and anti American government.
You might be a redneck if you cling to your gun only because you are full of frustration.
You might be a redneck if you cling to your religion only because you are full of frustration
You might be a redneck if you have antipathy to everyone but other rednecks.
You might be a redneck if you hate all immigrants coming to your country.
You might be a redneck if you don’t know anything about international trade.
You might be a redneck if you won’t vote for me or join my movement, sort of a race thing.

She's gonna say:
"Did you hear what my opponent said the other day? I just don't know what planet he thinks the United States is on. Maybe he can explain. Imagine for one minute if you will, god loving, god fearing, american patriots with flag lapel buttons on both lapels...upset, pissed or bitching and bitter mind you, about not having a way to feed their families, about not being able to provide healthcare for their dying child, about being evicted from their home!!
My God, that is not american. No american would ever, ever be bitter, be pissed, be anything but feeling blessed.
I am blessed, and God bless the 102 million dollars that Bill and I made the last couple of years. That's america, that's being blessed. You are blessed. If Bill and I can do it, you can do it.
God Bless you, God Bless me, God Bless my shotgun and God Bless Pennsylvania.
**Now mind ya' I'll still vote for Hillary before I'll ever vote for McStupid.
gemstone, read my 4:40 post, and see how Obama's sentence was taken WAY out of context and purportion. The Media (including CNN who I saw for DAYS spin and slant this story) made it into something it was not ! Get a grip!
I suspect a large number of Americans everywhere agree with me.

Brahahahaha...you don't have to suspect anything ya nitwit..because it's true.
They are called republicans, members of the KKK or the poor unfortunates that signed their marriage certificate to their sister with an X.
Which one are you?
Posted by gemstone on April 16, 2008 at 04:41 PM
I'm glad you and yours are having a wonderful time in Bushland, I'm not. I've witnessed the republicans take this great nation and its people to the depths of dispair and I'm not going to stand for it any longer.
Am I bitter? YES. I trusted my government to do the right thing in our name and instead they've spent every dime and then some attacking nations that never did us any harm. Then they looked away from those nations that need our assistance...again in our name. To find some comfort, security or solace, some of my neighbors have joined the xenophobes and pointed the finger at our neighbors to the south. Some of my neighbors have taken up arms because our government told them to be scared. Some of my neighbors have streamed in to churches who tell them every week that the liberals are destroying our schools and our nation.
Am I bitter? Hell yes. The republicans, and those that have taken on their swiftboat speak, have attempted to divide this nation, by race, by gender, by sexual orientation, by political party and by ideology. They have challenged our individual beliefs, fundamental rights and attempted to paint freethinkers as traitors.
Am I Bitter? F-ing yes. I hate that instead of working together to bring change to America, some have chosen to take the low road and but Bush in for a third term under the monniker of McCain.
The only thing left that I have to cling to is this:
NOT THIS TIME.
Interesting, and sorely needed !
Jewish Liberals to Launch a Counterpoint to AIPAC
By Michael Abramowitz
The Washington Post
Political funds, lobbying to promote Arab-Israeli peace deal.
Some of the country's most prominent Jewish liberals are forming a political action committee and lobbying group aimed at dislodging what they consider the excessive hold of neoconservatives and evangelical Christians on U.S. policy toward Israel.
MSNBC
"Bush floats goal for emissions tied to warming
He pushes for halting growth by 2025; activists want actual cuts"
would someone please tell the worst president ever that no one cares what his ideas are on anything and especially what his ideas are on the environment. for over seven years he has offered nothing but ridicule and ashes and that is exactly how we will remember the worst president ever...as a completely irresponsible, abdicating asshole who wasted precious time trying to sell us self shinning shoes and who we hate.
if he wants to do something he should get cheney to join him in resigning immediately so nancy pelosi can take over for the rest of his term.

ARe you going to hold your breath until you turn blue?
When you mature enough to realize that this election is NOT ABOUT YOU maybe then you will join your fellow Americans in doing what is right for this country. If you vote for McBush this coming November, you will need to explain to your children and your children's children why the blood on your hands won't ever wash off.
Are we supposed to believe that the "divide and conquor" tactics the republicans have used against their own people, have not been used in Iraq?
I have seen evidence from the occupation on day one of these tactics.
The divide and conquor is used every day in the news as bushco tries to divide nation against nation, (republican congress even declared french fries must be replaced with freedom fries)
small example, but if you listen closely, it is constant
"WE are the greatest nation on earth"and anyone listening from another nation will hear the divisive language and viserally react, and not with love.
I see that carborundumb is back. With the same ol' same ol' as yesterday.
Being from Montana I know the difference between corundum, which is found in Montana, and carborundum especially the carborundumb variety which is both abrasive and stupid.

You must really love that lame attempt at wit. It wasn't even mildly humorous the first several times you have wasted thread with it several times a day, for days on end.
Whatever, the constant harping on the same 'misinterpretation' - read: "desperate spin" - (by her campaign) of his actual words and context is basically hurting her candidacy.
Poll Shows Erosion Of Trust in Clinton
Clinton is viewed as "honest and trustworthy" by just 39 percent of Americans, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, compared with 52 percent in May 2006. Nearly six in 10 said in the new poll that she is not honest and trustworthy. And now, compared with Obama, Clinton has a deep trust deficit among Democrats, trailing him by 23 points as the more honest, an area on which she once led both Obama and John Edwards.Among Democrats, 63 percent called her honest, down 18 points from 2006; among independents, her trust level has dropped 13 points, to 37 percent. Republicans held Clinton in low regard on this in the past (23 percent called her honest two years ago), but it is even lower now, at 16 percent. Majorities of men and women now say the phrase does not apply to Clinton; two years ago, narrow majorities of both did.
And it doesn't help at all that the dude she is using in her "I'm bitter at Obama for what he said about PA peeps" is from NJ and had already voted for her on 2-5-08.
"Pennsylvanian" in Clinton attack ad is actually from New Jersey

Do you think we will ever be described like this again?:
America is a large, friendly dog in a very small room. Every time it wags its tail it knocks over a chair. Arnold Toynbee, 14 July 1954
no not going to be voting Republican but not voting for Obama! I will write in Hillary Clinton's name. I promised myself that this year I am voting for someone I support and not going to vote a "against" vote. I was so excited to have several candidates I could finally whole heartedly support and vote for. I could have supported John Edwards and Joe Biden just as easily as Hillary Clinton. I can not in good faith and conscious as and American vote for McCain or Obama! I will be doing the www.writeinpartyofamericans.com vote!
Posted by Michigan_Dave on April 16, 2008 at 04:52 PM
Yes, but still not enough people. Obama still leads McCain in the national polls, and I'm sure it will jump after tonight.
He may not be the most progressive candidate (neither are), but I believe that he has done more for transparent policies and bringing change to America than any other candidate in this election.
Posted by gemstone on April 16, 2008 at 05:14 PM
Then why bother even leaving the house? Unless a candidate files papers with the Secretary of State indicating his/her intention to be a "write in candidate" the ballot won't count AT ALL. The entire thing will be invalidated, so even down ticket races will be tossed out.
Better stick with the breath holding and foot stomping. Whoever walks out of Denver at the end of August is the Candidate, whether you like that person or not.
YOU can't overturn the will of several million other voters just because your "feelings" are being hurt. (And the 'other' reason, too.)

BlueinIdaho OK you are bitter over the Bush/Chaney crap. Who isn't. Now you have covered what Obama "must" have been saying to those Yuckity Yucks in SF. would you now be so kind as to explaine the following meanings as well! Listed line by line so you can give your full attention to each one!

Ya know. A truely worldly think would realized that we are blessed. Your writing on this blog hammering on the government right? Anyone shooting at you for that?
A little moderation goes a way. Granted, Gemstone is nuts for voting for Billary but villifing here is useless. I actually like the concept gemstone says, lets all vote for someone rather than against.
I am voting for Barack. I am not voting against anyone.
Posted by gemstone on April 16, 2008 at 05:23 PM
Let me get this straight...I'm supposed to answer your inane attempts at humor? You're apparently attempting to equate Barack as some sort of elitist, when clearly he is far from it. He wasn't born with a silverspoon and earned everything he ever made. When did he ever call you or anyone else a "redneck"?
And, btw, Barack was not my first choice, but I got over it. I won't be pissing the American dream away by writing John Edwards in, I will be helping to lift up the rest of this nation by punching the hole next to Obama. (Yes, in ID we still punch holes. :))
lets all vote for someone rather than against.

But, like DBD points out, if the candidate you write-in isn't registered, then it is a wasted vote. And, if you aren't voting for a candidate that is on the ballot, you are voting against your own best interest.
is the pope here to offer some help with the mortgage crisis or to attend a shower for the bush twin who is getting married or to enter a "best in show" shoe contest with condi??
some days i just can't figure out what is going on.
L.A. Times says people are BITTER!
OK, with all this talk about "bitter" Americans, how do you feel? Are you bitter about your life and financial and other circumstances?66.1 %
Yes. I'll show you bitter when I vote.5.4 %
Yes, but it isn't any politician's fault.28.5 %
No. Actually, I feel pretty good.
America's turn: How bitter are you? Vote now
So does CNN:
PamB I didn't need CNN or anyone else tell me what he meant I listen to his own words and read the transcript many times.
It is not a stretch at all to understand what he was doing.
He was a dinner plate closed door big supporters event and was trying to relate to this very metro Yuckity yuck crowd. Now I know how they thing because that is where I grew up and yeah there are these mythes about small town folk or more commonly called rednecks especially the further south you go but for west coast people anyting east of the Rocky's will do. The things he mentioned read like a laundry list of these smirky myth sentiments. (now country people have there own about the people in SF)
His statements were a wwe and them and he was instructing and informing them as to why support amoung this group was hard to get and the words were wrong and showed and attitude of willing to say or do anything to get support. Do I think he hates rednecks or small town people..no. Do I think he thinks like many metro yuckie yuck types that they are hicks..yes. Is that bad ..no more then the hicks thinking that city folk are less then bright in country ways. Obamas willingness to go anywhere and do anything for votes and his defense of such behavior that I can not support. that is why TUCC, Farrakhan, Avery, Rezko and others. He has lied 4 times in just 2 months on different issues and it has taken 3 or 4 attempts to answer each hard question. He can't even apologize without still blaming small town people for his own words. OH and one can feel bitter about Bush but still feel very blessed to be living in America and in a small town!
..."best in show" shoe contest with condi??
HAHAHAHA!! Good one. (She'll win. Rove will rig the votes.)
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo it is about doing the right thing or the wrong thing. this year I promised myself it would be doing the right thing because it is the right thing and not do the wrong thing because it is the wrong thing. My vote this year is going to be all about that! Obama is the wrong thing! If I have to hold my nose to vote that says WRONG@! I know a whole lot of people in the many groups I talk with on the net are doing the same thing. I would not be surprised if you see 30% write in this year if Hillary is not the nominee.
My small stock portfolio lost 70% of it's value in the first few months after Bush was installed as president, and prior to 9-11.
9-11 happened because Bush and Rice ignored the warnings.
We went to war with a country that didn't do anything, and our once great country is nearly bankrupted both morally (because of torture)and financially. We have lost our standing in the world community.
Our media is a complete joke.
My savings account which earns a paltry 3%, is now worth 30% less due to the declining dollar.
My house is now worth at least 25% less due to the failing housing market. This is due in part because of lack of oversight and regulation of the mortgage industry, who will be bailed out on the backs of the middle class.
The Constitution is in shreds because this administration thinks it is just a g-d damn piece of paper.
My great nieces and nephews will inherit a tax burden that is incomprehensible. But the corporations and richest citizens keep getting a break..
Yup, I guess I'm effing bitter. How could a thinking person not be bitter?
No sense to twist Obama's words and pretend outrage all the while copying and pasting previous posts. You plan on voting McSame when November comes?
I'm bitter and sure mad at Clinton, but come hell or high water, I'm voting for a Democrat come November.

Dave,
So you don't think she's going to cry? Or tell us again how she never was for NAFTA. Or that she had to duck from sniper fire as she passed the Obama-mobile this week?
I thought the Pope looked great...at least 20 years younger than McCain and he doesn't have to take human growth hormones either.
Was Laura having her First Communion today?
Don't we have people on the State Department payroll whose only job is to make sure these sorts of presidential faux pas don't occur? Condi and her Liberty College grads are just plain useless.
I thought it was interesting that Obama was meeting with Jewish leaders today while Spunky was serving the Pope's birthday cake.
I bet the Pontiff really appreciated that kind of candles which you can't blow out. When he finally got exasperated, Cheney just pulled out his ole blunderbuss and blew the whole thing up...sort of like what he plans to do to Iran.
Perhaps the Pope would have preferred meeting with those Jewish leaders, too?
And ALL of those ballots from your imaginary 30% will be tossed out. Don't you get that? Stay home if that's what you are going to do. In the end you will be hurting your Congressional candidate and Senate candidate, if there is a race in your state. Not to mention all the local candidates and issues and other referenda.
Just remember, he's half white, so if he is the nominee you only have to hold 1 nostril. Problem solved. (That makes too much sense.)

Considering all the crap that's going on in the world today, the importance of human rights needs to be brought to the front burner, not just here in the US, but world wide.
I watched the doings at the White House on EWTH this morning.
I was praying the whole time; "Please Lord, don't let Dubya do anything too stupid and embarrass us again."
I did get the impression that the Pope knows more about American history than Bush does. ;-P
Is Condi going to be a bridesmaid at Jenna's wedding? Always the bridgesmaid never the....nevermind.
(Yes, in ID we still punch holes. :))

ALERT!! Watch out for those 'hanging chads!' I know Scalia and the rest of the reTHUGs will be trying to find any excuse not to allow votes of the people to count!!!
I did get the impression that the Pope knows more about American history than Bush does. ;-P

Who doesn't?
I must add that I did not start out with this position about Obama. He was part of the candidates I would support vote for like Richardson and Dodd. He was not my first choice or choices as I have always felt he was not ready to be President. Through his own actions have I come to the point that he for sure is not a choice I can vote for. Not my support for Hillary but rather my objections to Obama keeps me from doing the party vote. In the start there were only 2 Democratic candidates I could not have voted for, Gravel or Kucinich. Now after watching him with the hard questions and issues I have to put Obamas name on that list.

I am really sick of listening to your DIVIDE AND CONQUER tactics. your Rove spin to pit citizen against citizen
Everything you post is about South vs North or west or east,
Hicks vs yuppies (niether of which you even can define correctly) or maybe like Rove you just want it to look that way
L.A. VS whomever
Now San Francisco Vs the Country
When thank god for San Francisco and all those brave people did when we needed out of Vietnam.
and many other issues that other people across the country just bitch at and San Francisco/Bay area people bravely take action.
religion vs religion and non religion
30 years ago I lived in Mississippi for 5 months due to business, and yes I had to endure how they felt about people from California.
(we all drove VW vans, had orgies, and they wouldn't live where there are earthquakes)
I was pleased to spread a little sunshine, and some even accepted they had been misinformed.
Nothing has changed, your republican party has done the divide and conquor thing against their own people for as long as I can remember.
TODAY IT STOPS WITH BARACK OBAMA
I am also sick of Hillary leading her people to vote against Obama if she doesn't win.
THANK GOD WE ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER DIVIDE AND CONQUER PERSON IN THE WHITE HOUSE AGAIN.
MAYBE WE CAN HEAL WITH THIS LEADERSHIP
YES WE CAN
very metro Yuckity yuck crowd

Wow, there's the pot calling the kettle black. So, in your attempt to spear Obama for speaking out, you're going to call people who live in urban areas derrogatory names. Now, as much as you'd like to believe Obama called anyone a name, he didn't. But, you're obviously bitter and going to use divisive language to prove your point.
Dave I feel sorry for you. I am sure you are bitter. You sound bitter. The small town you describe is not a small town I have ever lived it. DO we have problems.. you bet but I will tell you that you can have problems and have trouble but still feel blessed because we also have a GREAT place to live and raise our families! DO I want things to be better..YOU BET! You don't have to be bitter though. That is defeatist and I just was not raised to be that! Most people from rural America are raised that way! I am sorry your life's experience is so negative.

You would vote for Richardson or Dodd???
Men that you don't respect their opinion on who would be our best leader? more Rove/spin
you have accomplished what you came here to do
create unproductive trauma/drama
and I have helped.
Will be jumping your posts
sick of it
very good margotb... thank you for getting that attitude.. not any better coming from Obama about rural Americans.
I`m not really interested in telling Gemstone to do anything.Whatever logic is there is his.Mine doesn`t go there. When you look and see the media & Hilliary& McInsane as distorting and barraging to the point that some people think it`s true.To me it`s crap when you look at the whole speech. I`m quite honestly sick to death of the media`s propensity to take stuff like this and run with it! The medias job is to report news not create it.Don`t look for Barack Obama to wither away from this. That`s what makes him special! He has an honest perspective and will stand by it.We have a person running for president who is comfortable with who he is.Along with this he has experienced a lot in life that we have no idea about and come out of it well balanced and intelligent.Barack Obama is who I want for President of the United States of America.Good luck with your choice!
gemstone is exactly the reason that I will be voting for Obama.
It is also the reason that democrats are jumping off Hillarys ship
Democrats want no more of this divide and conquer stuff coming from our leaders, that we have suffered republicans, and democrats that use republican tactics and support and build up republicans while tearing down a democrat that is trying to UNITE this country and on to the world.
Here is a Howard Dean YYYYYEEEEEAAAAAA
carborundumb is a troll. Look at the signs. This individual is prone to dumb abrasive statements, does not back up anything, and is obnoxiously repetitious, like the script writers went out to lunch and the individual can't think on his/her own.
Not only that but carborundumb is managing to disrespect both rural and urban people in order to start a fight.
Such lowlifes need to be just blown off.

But you are blessed and so is the America.
The Pope said so today...even though he has some major concerns about Bush's waterboarding (he's now on the record admitting that he was aware and approved those meetings.) and our continued occupation of Iraq.
I love these Papal visits. All the crowds of American people celebrating mass in masses.
The Pontiff's appearance on our shores always reminds us of how the GOP's Far Right religious base hates Catholics and insists that they are not Christians.
So it was good seeing Spunky acknowledging today who really holds the power when it comes to Christianity in the world. There's nothing like rubbing salt into a Pat Robertson wound. Good job, Brownie (Spunky).
later.

What is the point of adjusting the results of a poll? Isn't the point of the poll to find out information, not make up your own.
Did he ever say what exactly the adjustment was?
FYI I was born and raised in a metro and not until after college did I move to rural America. As much as I enjoy the metro life and its convinces and vibrate life style I would not trade it for the small town rural life that I have had now for 25 years. Yeah I am one of those people who traded in his metro life for the rural life. So I do know the stereo type thinking from both sides. In the right format it isn't even wrong.(foxworthy makes a living off if it) but it can be wrong in other formats and Obama's was in the wrong way. Sorry but that is it plain and simple. Now that in itself was not a ender for me as we have all been in a crowd pressure to please situation and goofed. It was what he has done since that makes me say nope, as was the way he handled the other hard times that came his way over the last 2 months.
I would not be surprised if you see 30% write in this year if Hillary is not the nominee. Posted by gemstone on April 16, 2008 at 05:50 PM
Then when McCain gets elected, and continues this Path of destruction and neo con war mongering, costing our nation already $2 Trillion dollars in debt, tearing up the Constitution, doing away with women and childrens and workers rights, then do not let ONE of these anal, simple minded, traitorous, anti-Americans come into this thread to boo-fucking-hoo ! I will wipe their faces in it if they ever dare to !
You should vote for your candidate because you see them as the right choice not because of me. Wow what power you ascribe to me. Yeah right. poor attempt there lowserenity.
Hey If the American press would do it job instead of being this speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil about Obama love fest Obama propaganda spin machine I wouldn't have to come in here and post truth.
woops----someone called for re-inforcements
bbl
thanks for being here
YES WE CAN

Truth? You've posted that he lied, but didn't explain nor back up that comment. You posted that he lacks respect for rural Americans, but also neglected to back that up as well.
Unfortunately for you, the impression the bloggers are getting is that you are either a closet racist or madly bitter that your favorite team isn't winning...or both.
If it doesn't matter to you that America will continue to slide down the toilet, than fine, do the non-vote thing. Me, I couldn't live with myself if I sat out this election. America and Americans are too important.
Highserenity It is Obama who is doing the dividing I am just the messenger.. You are shooting the messenger not the divider. It was his words in SF it was his words to the Canadians His choice to align with messengers of division(Avery,McCulkin,Farrakhan,Wright,Cone) It was his choice to never apologize. It was his choice after choice after choice that is divisive behavior. His choice not to be a part of unity or change but only empty suite words. BY the time you discount all the groups not fit to be a part of his " movement" he is a very select kind of guy! I also love this pull out the we are the dividers and racist for not joining in the movement. Really quick to pull those ole cards out of the deck are you.. just like the guy you have been sold a bill of goods on. I suggest you wake up before it is to late.
Have a great nite Dems!
YES WE CAN!
YES WE WILL!
And, for the the haters: NOT THIS TIME.

Anyone who thinks that Barack Obama doesn't respect his small-town fellow Americans can take it up with the guy who wrote "Born In The U.S.A." (and "Thunder Road," and "The River," and "Backstreets" and "Badlands" and pretty much a zillion classic songs about working-class life in small-town America).

Cut the crap. Does the reason you left the "metro" have more to do with YOU than with the Country?
As much as I enjoy the metro life and its convinces and vibrate life style I would not trade it for the small town rural life that I have had now for 25 years. Yeah I am one of those people who traded in his metro life for the rural life.
I don't know what "convinces" you have (ahem, yes I do) but Obama was saying the same damn thing years ago, and it was NEVER a "problem" until "Little Miss Tail-Gunner" had to pilot her own damaged troop transport into downtown Bosnia and use her trusty shotgun that her grandfather taught her to use (at yet ANOTHER private SECOND HOME!!!!!!!--let's face it, Park Ridge ain't exactly "Tobacco Road") in order to provide cover for ALL the "troops".
It DID NOT happen.
But THIS is TRUE.
Obama on Small Town and Value Voters
THAT was YEARS ago.
Little Miss "Shots & Shootin' Gal" had the ability to "LEND" her mis-managed campaign FIVE EFFING MILLION DOLLARS IN CASH and she's just "regular folk".
As Bill Cosby used to say when he was funny...
"Riiiiiiight...."
