Hi, marymac.
It's too cold for ice cream tonight. Only me and a retired couple showed up for a cone. I guess I'll have to head on over to the school ball fields on a nicer night.
I think you're right about Hillary wanting to lead the fight for health care and education in the Senate. But it's a lot easier to spearhead a policy at a rally than herd a bunch of cats in the Congress.
I think she'd like to stay out on the stump and chase down as many of those new votes as she can. If she is given a key role, she'll run with it.
But we have to find some way to ween her away from Bill. The party better figure out what to do with him. He represents the past and keeps on dragging her, and us, back to a place we no longer want to be.
She will be great wherever she goes.
Let's see how Liberman likes these apples! All the bullshit he has pulled - he thinks he has the Dems by the short hairs, but guess what!!! I shall host a huge party the day that Reid takes those committee seats away from him!!
Lieberman’s antics do not go by unnoticed by Dem leadership
Democratic discontent, however, seems to be on the rise.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) could be stripped of his chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee after the next election, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has said.
Speaking to MSNBC host Keith Olbermann on Friday, Reid suggested the former Democrat, who lost to a left-wing primary challenger in 2006 and has now endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for the presidency, is not guaranteed to keep his prestigious chairmanship.
Olbermann asked Reid if there was “anything that he could do that would make you move to take his leadership position away on Homeland Security.” The majority leader responded: “Yes, of course,” but did not elaborate.
Earlier on Friday, Reid added, “I think it’s wrong what he’s done [campaigning for McCain], and I told him that.”
The Guardian added this item yesterday, suggesting the Republican convention may be the line Lieberman cannot cross, as far as the Democratic leadership is concerned.
Senator Joseph Lieberman, a stalwart backer of John McCain who calls himself an “independent Democrat”, could face punishment from the Democratic party if he is asked to speak at this summer’s Republican convention. […]
I’ll consider anything,” Reid said at a breakfast with reporters today, adding that the Democratic presidential nominee, likely Barack Obama, would want to weigh in on Lieberman’s future role.
Hmm. A month ago, Reid suggested Lieberman is safe. Yesterday, he’s open to possible consequences.
I suppose the obvious question, then, is why Reid balked at the notion of punishing Lieberman when asked about this a month ago. My suspicion is that Reid, at least at the time, didn’t want to spark a controversy or show his cards — he abruptly said “no” when asked whether Lieberman’s chairmanship was at risk, tamping down speculation.
But over the last several weeks, my bet is that Reid has grown increasingly frustrated, and has probably heard an earful from some members of the Senate Democratic caucus. Perhaps the talk we’ve heard from Reid over the last five days is an effort to lay the groundwork for the punishment to come? At this point, I get the sense it’s a distinct possibility.

O.K., Aren't the polls closed? Where is "Miss Congeniality?"
Brilliant!
The DCCC dropped a last minute mailer in Mississippi's 1st District (where they're holding an election today) claiming that Republican Greg Davis had offered up his town of Southaven, where he's mayor, as the new home for a statue of Confederate general and founder of the Klu Klux Klan, Nathan Bedford Forrest. The NRCC flipped out and sent out a press release claiming that the claim was a lie -- that it was a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, not Forrest. And their response got picked up in a piece in Roll Call.
But now with the help of TPM Reader AV, we've found a contemporary news account which appears to confirm the DCCC mailer's account.
She will be great wherever she goes.

I just want her to be where she can do the most good for the party and the country.
Did you see that the "Huckster" is the leading candidate for Rep. VP? He's the person who is advocating the 'doing away' with the Constitution and using the Southern Baptist Interpretation of the Bible in it's place? To me, that is nothing short of treason!
I'm great, ML. my new baby, peanut, has a strong heartbeat.
How's your night? Did you hear? Sen. Clinton won WV.
;P

Pam: We get the TV ads for that race here and the ads from G. Davis and the RNC make the 'swift boaters' look like positive ads. It is the most negative campaigning that I have ever seen. T. Childers has been relatively positive - only critizing the record and the negative campaigning. G. Davis is slime!
Evening all good Dems,
The bill to stop filling the petroleum reserve passed the Senate 97 to 1. President Ahole says it won't make a dent in our usage and he is going to veto it because we have to have it in case of a "terrist" attack.
What a loser.
Then when they want to drill in Anwahr he says that will solve all our energy problems. What an anus. The senate repukes parrot the same crap.
In fact today, two senate repukes introduced a bill to drill everywhere and build "nukular
" power plants everywhere. It is so obvious that this is a political move that it is laughable. If the Dems shoot it down like they will then the repukes can say, "see, the Dems don't want us to be energy independent.
What a laugh. Yet people like rash limpballs says we have to drill everywhere because oil just bubbles up out of the ground and we can find enough oil if we just drill in all the wilderness areas.
Oops! Gotta go! bbl (probably)
Essie: just a quick 'thank you' for all of your hard work ensuring integrity in the voting process!

Michelle Martian is having a cow.
HC's communications director, howard wolfson, is saying that the DNC will "so the right thing" and seat the FL & MI delegates. Rules committee to meet on May 31st. Gnashing of teeth is predicted that day!
If OBama does win in the end, I wonder if Hillary Clinton would be his V. President?
I have noticed she ask him once to be her V. President but he has never ask her?
I hope he isn't stubborn to the detrement of the Party.
He seems like he plans to run the Government,If he wins, like Bill Clinton ran his. You know, he has hired just about all of Clintons cabinet?
Well I guess if Clinton wins, it will be run like the Clintons ran their Policy. She is all Business and I doubt if there will be scandles.
yea Huckabee VP (nice fantasy)
He will be perfect match
didn't mccain say constitution was born from faith based or christian something
which is exactly the opposite of the truth
I don't think he will pick Huckabee or Huckabee wouldn't be playing pundit in msm

Hi Esme, Even Howard Dean says they will be seated, but the question is HOW will they be seated! 50% of them?
It irks me that we have to seat them at all, but I guess we have to ! I do not like Rules broken ! It is unfair to my state, and 47 others which obeyed them.
heading out, Dems. blog ya tomorrow !

DPD,
She's at the celebration party? I don't begrudge anyone a little fun.
I'm just told the DNC softball team won tonight. Undefeated champions!
(The other team forfeited this game. It's the first of the season.)

Yeah, how magnanimous of her to "offer" the second banana position to the person who at the time was WINNING all the metrics, and, in fact, had just run up a string of 11 straight victories to her ZERO.
There has been NO time, EVER that she was winning. He has ALWAYS had the delegate lead.
I voted for her on Super Tuesday, before Mark Penn decided that she should act like KKKarl Rove and go negative with the "kitchen sink" strategy.
She is out of it. Get over it. Her ONLY plan is to keep on so she can keep asking for donations in order to retire her massive debt.
Hillary "victory" speech scheduled to take place @ 5 minutes after the hour. About 8 minutes from now.
Let's count the words before she asks for money.
MSNBC just got an email from Camp Clinton.
ASKING FOR MONEY!
Write a book, have Bill give a speech if you want cash.
Jeeze Louise this is like the worst "Hemlock scene" from the worst High School play. Stop the yakking and die, already!
And now......
HEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's HILLARY!
Bah da da da daaaaaaahhhh..........
Did McCain lose WV to two people who aren't in the race?
Did he gain zero pledged delegates?
give me money! I'm in debt! now she knows what it feels like...or at least her staffers do.
AHA!!! TWO FRIGGIN' MINUTES!!!
Maybe she can sell Mark Penn's kitchen sink on E-bay for about $20 MILLION DOLLARS?
...And thank you Ms. Norma Desmond.
HEY!!! Since when did she move the goal posts to 2029? Did the DNC already secretly rule?
Doesn't she remember, the "little states don't count" (until that is all she has left).
Posted by MichaelLink on May 13, 2008 at 08:46 PM
Were you playing the GOP?
Well, beg on, sister. Unless she got 70% of the vote tonight, her bar is now upped to (drum roll, please...)
91% of ALL remaining delegates, including undeclared Supers.
Yeah, it's "doable".
Voting blindly is just not responsible citizenship. If a citizen believes that a Obama Presidency is doomed because he has not moved from running for office to being ready to be President then they should not vote for him no matter the party! I didn’t see anything in this race to change my mind about him being inexperienced and not ready to be President. In fact his actions, words and reactions have only confirmed that belief and knowledge over and over again. Thus that is why for me the only name I will be writing on my ballot is Hillary Clinton. Now if the Democratic Party gets this wisdom by the time of Denver and puts her name on there for me to choose then I will be voting a straight Democratic Party Ticket. But make no mistake about it Democratic Party there will be no Obama vote on my ballot as he is not up to the task yet in his life’s journey. He needs more time and more experience say in 8 years he could be ready to be our Presidential leader.
Yes we are the true Democrats.. Those who vote for Obama are not the true Democrats. A failed McCain Presidency is better and will have less long term negative effect for Democrats then a failed Obama Presidency. We have said for over a year now that he needs more time to be ready and his responses and actions in this race have confirmed that without a doubt. Not any Democrat is a win it has to be the right Democrat! The times and issues are that serious! The economy is crashing and costs are on a run away track. Oil shortage is real and deep. Our health care system is not just a mess it is broken and must be made a true start with Universal Health Care. Middle east tensions are a danger to all as are other many other foreign relations. The drop out rate for education is at a all time high. Corporate greed has gotten out of control with no guidance from the Bush Presidency. Bush and big money has gobbled up the worlds wealth to where the middle class is in a strangle hold. Our freedoms have been attacked all over the place. These are so serious and it will take only a fighter with a proven track record of hanging in there and taking the heat without getting pushed off course. Hillary has proven that for 35 years and Obama has proven for 15 years that he can’t, doesn’t and won’t. He runs and hides from such task because he has not gotten yet what it takes to be a President. It is one thing to run for office and quite another to do the job well that you were elected to. So far he has not done that in either the Illinois State Senate job or the Illinois US Senate job.
Posted by gemstone on May 13, 2008 at 09:24 PM
Well, that's not how it's looking to turn out. I guess, if I were you, I'd take stock of my values and see which candidate can actually come close to those. And even though people make fun of Clinton for being like McCain, she and Obama are much closer. To call yourself a Dem and vote for McCain is deserving of mockery, imo. So, just be prepared to take it.
Awww, an 11 year old kid from KY sold his bike and all his video games to raise money so he can send it to Hillary, who has enough change in her couch cushions to pony up $11.4 MILLION BUCKS that was just laying around somewhere in one of her houses.
She owes that kid a car when he is old enough. A cool one like the General Lee. He'yuck!
What if Hillary wins? Will you still blast her?
Or are you just acting like a GOP? You should be kind to all Democrats unless you are Black? The Blacks would rather vote for GOP than to vote for a White Lady!
Do the Blacks have respect for their Women much less a White woman?
Posted by gemstone on May 13, 2008 at 09:26 PM
Gee, fiscal management is one of your top priorities??
HAHAHAHHAAAAA
Buy that kid in KY a bike, you ranting lunatic. She is TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT SINCE FEBRUARY!!!
She started out with world-wide name recognition, an "in place" campaign infrastructure, a former President to fund raise, a list of donors a mile long, "35 years of experience" (at what, pray tell?) and she went BROKE in 100 days?!?!!!????
THAT is what you call "fiscal responsibility"?
You are delusional.
Glumstone,
Apparently a white woman has ZERO respect for the Blacks, as witnessed by her last gasp race baiting in order to pump up the Appalachian vote. It's OVER for her. What percentage of the African American vote can she lose?
At this point, she'd be lucky to get 30% and it is ALL because of the race baiting that started after SC just to puff up the white vote in the later majority white states. ALL OF WHICH SHE LOST, BTW.
How did Carol Mosely Braun do? Jesse Jackson? Alan Keyes? Al Sharpton?
Your racist crapola is disgusting. She just isn't as good a candidate as Obama, and has no idea how to run an organization, as evidenced by her helter skelter clusterfuck of a campaign.
It's OVER. Deal with it.
Posted by margotb822 on May 13, 2008 at 09:14 PM
I'm not on the team, but I think they were playing some team with AZ hill staffers... could be wrong.
sorry, that was meant for boneheadforall. Can you count? She needs over 75% of ALL remaining elected delegates and 80% of all remaining Supers in order to TIE Obama, OR 81% of ALL the remaining votes, OR 91% of EVERY outstanding delegate total left.
It's OVER. All she can do is keep on pandering and pleading and begging for money at this point.
Now you doo-bee-dud are doing all the race baiting. You sound like a sexist and I would bet that you are a racist as well as a gay basher. The one thing I can be sure you are is a LOSER!
margo
I think this is the one
McCain lost 23% of the vote LOL

forgotten link
delegate count is only one part of who is most electable. One of the two poorest makers I might add. The only worse one is the number of states won. If your wins are in November red states they don't mean a hill of beans. So far he has not won and important state that would give him a win in November. His numbers are sinking faster then a lead ball in water! Face it his 15 minutes of fame are up! His inexperience is showing all over the place. The American public is now officially off the electric kool aid.
Clinton has not done a single race card but Obama has made it all up and used race through out this whole campaign. He is such a liar so why am I not surprised that you do-dud is just like him, one big liar who can't get off the electric kool aid.
Obama has a long history of nasty politics. No morals at all!
I have some GREAT news! with 87% of precincts reporting, the AP has declared Travis Childers (D) the winner of the First Congressional District of Mississippi! This is a traditional Repub strong hold. Basically, it didn't matter who was running, if they had the big red R next to their name - they won. That all changed tonight!
Childers is a VERY conservative Democrat (more of a Blue Dog Dixiecrat) but still he's 100% better than G. Davis!
CONGRATULATIONS
TRAVIS CHILDERS!
Q Mr. President, you haven't been golfing in recent years. Is that related to Iraq?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, it really is. I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be as -- to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.
Q Mr. President, was there a particular moment or incident that brought you to that decision, or how did you come to that?
THE PRESIDENT: No, I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life. And I was playing golf -- I think I was in central Texas -- and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, it's just not worth it anymore to do.

This is suppose to make Cindy Sheanon feel better?
But he doesn't have any problem clowning around on his mountain bike and acting dopey at state dinners hosted by foreign leaders?
Or does he fear that Cheney could accidently shoot him out there in the open on a green?
You can't be too careful when Dick is all liquored up and thinking that he only has just a few more months left to officially take over as president.
Duck, Mr. President! Lame duck.
I forgot - is West Virginia going to vote Democratic next November? I forgot - which candidate said that small states don't count?
Congratulations, Mrs. Clinton, on your 20 delegates (if that) from WV. That's gotta make the $15 million debt feel worthwhile. It was hard work, I'm sure. Helluva job.
Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.
It is interesting to read the comments of the "true" democrats which translates to the Hillary supporters. All I see is negative comments about minorities, just like the Clinton's. Maybe it is time for all minorities to realize that the DNC is not infavor of minorities. At least the GOP doesnt lie about that. Si Hillary no se sale de la carrera es hora de abandonar el partido democrata y darles el voto castigo. It is time for a punishment vote against the Democratic Party. The only way that we will vote for the DNC is if Obama is the candidate. Si se puede, Yes we can. Is Hillary the candidate of the white blue collar workers, she has said it loud and clear that we are not her constituency. DNC will you allow this to happen. I have written in the past trying to send the message that independents and minorities are looking at this race with hope and that there was the need for Obama. Now that the party has not influenced to remove the racist lines then it is time to walk. Are you going to make it right. Think. Piensen, ya llego la hora.
ThinkFlorida - how about an Obama/Richardson ticket? That would be awesome!
Obama has a different venue that Bill Clinton, and wants to integrate all voices of the Democratic Party. He will walk among US better and work America in his fixing solutions. He will not be using Executive Privilege as a inheritance right from Bush, and I hope make Bush accountable to the Constitution.
But there is something few realize the sleeping giants of our youth have awoken, and their voices will take over the Democratic Party. This youth has no fraternity association of Royalty, they are the "We the people" patriots of needing real change from the Old Guard of the Democratic Party, and even the Republican Party.
Posted by marymac_memphis on May 13, 2008 at 10:23 PM
Wow, marymac. The Republicans are like The Plague. To think the MSM pundits are still debating whether Third Term McCain can beat any Democrat.
Just think. If Obama ran with Ron Paul, we'd probably push the RNC right over the edge of their Flat Earth.
CNN reporting Travis Childress wins in a red district with attack ads of Rev. Wright against Him. HHHUUUGGGEEE for DEMS and Obama
Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

MIKaren,
And the ticker is still running. Couldn't all these millions in debt be better raised and spent on Congressional races this fall so we could have a Super Majority?
I decided to drop in to MyHC and see how Jerome Armstrong was finding some new way to pull some Rube Goldberg scenario out of his butt about how tonight was a resounding shot across the bow of the Obama voters and I ran into this.
Nebraska Democratic Senate Primary Results Thread
So, I guess there is something on that site that isn't straight out of Fantasyland.
After all, Jerome Armstrong is the 'Baghdad Bob' of this election cycle.
Maybe I'll check out Taylor Harsh for some eye poppingly stupid pseudo optimism. Or just her usual asinine rants.
I just don't know what the reasoning is behind this? And now I hear people saying that she has the "right" to be offered the VP position?!! WHAT? I just can't help but think if it was any other candidate, they would have been swept aside as a loon by now by most of the party leaders as well as the MSM. I just really don't get it. It's making me think the "scorched earth" conspiracy theory may actually be true. Going negative has just worked so very well for her this campaign season (sarcasm), going negative ballistic would be political suicide, I would think.
I just don't understand! But Mrs. Clinton is a very smart woman, so I know she's got some kind of plan. I think that may be the most concerning thing of all...
CNN always has a panel of "paid for opinion spreaders" that are heavily weighted with republican spreaders.
John King on CNN says, rural, gun toting americans say to themselves, about a nominee,"they are not like me." Well I certainly don't want a president like me. I want the president to be a whole lot smarter and capable than me.
Nobody can say Obama lacks experience - bush had experience and look what that got america.
I am voting for HRC in November. If she is not on the ticket; I will be writing her name in. I know that she would not want me to do that, but I can no longer support Obama and I will never vote for McCain. Living in Indiana I have long been casting my vote in vein- so this year will be no different.
Although I like Obama, I take my responsibility to cast my vote for the one I think will do the best job, very seriously. I trust Hillary to fight for the things that are important to me and my family. I like most of HRC supporters take great offense to the suggestion that the only reason we support her over him is because he is black. That is simply not true. The way the Obama supporters have
likened the Clinton's to something worse than Bush has severely done their man a huge disservice. I will never forgive you people if he loses this for us. I pray that we don't endure 4 long years under McCain... and if we do it will be your fault.
This may not be rational, but the Democratic party has lost a loyal, dependable, grunt worker. I suspect that you people think that you don't need her supporter; I guess we will see. Good luck in November. I hope for all of our sakes you guys are right. I am not convinced. If I thought for one minute that he could win this thing I would be on board.

When you look ar it all politicians since 2000 have been inexperienced in doing their "HOMEWORK" otherwise Bush Blunders Mission Accomplished would have never happened. America would not have had a Bush Recession and Cheney inflation. This Royalty, whose ideas have bankrupt this nation and this nation's Constitution in redefinitions in order to form a more perfect Republic of a government Corporate merger gone awry.
Their credential have a Patriot Act on them, where they sold our Civil Liberties away without checks and balances warrants in the right of a White House right to invade our privacy "At Will" that Corporation have this right from the 1930's, where they can demand their employees to give up their Freedom and Democracy in order to be employed. Yes today the American worker is far worse off from politicians failing us, with them becoming our master parents, who define compliance in intimidation of cloning US without rights in our own homes.

Don't you remember? After a string of 11 losses IN A ROW (for those who don't under the term "a string of ELEVEN LOSSES) she said that he is unelectable and hasn't passed her imaginary "threshold", BUT HE can be HER number 2.
NOW she just wants to be anywhere other than doing her current job, which she may very well lose if she keeps this shit up.
I am voting for HRC in November. If she is not on the ticket; I will be writing her name in....
I hope for all of our sakes you guys are right. I am not convinced. If I thought for one minute that he could win this thing I would be on board.

You said in the previous paragraph that you would write in HRC instead of Obama, but then you end your post with this comment? Which is it? Are you merely pissed off that Obama is winning? Not just delegates, superdelegates, but also POPULAR VOTE! and MONEY! and in polls he is currently already beating McCain, and that's without a full national campaign. Seriously?!! You don't think he can win in November?! Well, really you don't care since you'd rather hand it to McCain than fight for a Democrat by writing in the LOSING CANDIDATE, therefore fulfilling your own stupid bad-loser prophesy. Whatever.
Seriously can we quit whining and complaining that a particular candidate won or lost, and start looking at how AMAZING it is that so many people are VOTING?!! More voting in primaries than have voted for the general election?!!! That's crazy awesome. Let's focus on that, and move forward to ENSURE VICTORY IN NOVEMBER!!
Just heard the good news on the tube. And to think shooter cheney thought an appearance would help put the rethug over the top, over the edge is more like it. Earlier today i spoke with an uncle in the district who said the pugs have sold the country down the drain and his county was going democratic but wasn't sure about the neighboring county. well now we know, it's not a good time to be a rethug. Congratulations Mr. Childers!
Doo-Bee. I just don't understand!!! What is she thinking? I want to know.
His numbers are sinking faster then a lead ball in water!
Bush's? Yeah, I heard that. And most Americans now identify McCain as his third term. Buddies forever.
Nice try, sally*.
Your continued fake support for Hillary gives me new hope that even you can support an underdog instead of the money-grubbing rich. Today a woman; tomorrow a black? Perhaps a gay someday?
Limbaugh has clearly lost his grip on the faithful. Operation Chaos has backfired. It's made both of the Democratic presidential candidates stronger. It's made all Democrats stronger than any Republican...even those running for Congress in Misssissippi.
Thanks for giving us a leg up for November.
Posted by hope23 on May 13, 2008 at 11:00 PM
Not only is it not rational, it's not even sane. Let alone effective.
If you think you are making a "statement" by writing in someone's name you may as well stay home. ANY ballot with a "write in vote" will be automatically disqualified unless that particular candidate has filed papers with the State stipulating that they wish to run a "write in" campaign. That means EVERY vote on that ballot will NOT count. Local, Congress, School Referendum, Dog Catcher, etc.
Use your "boo hoo" time to realize that a majority of the PEOPLE have chosen someone else and your particular candidate is still at turn 3 while the checkered flag is waving for the winner.
Karen,
Don't bother trying to reason with the Republicans who come in here pretending to be Democrats. They clearly are sick that they're stuck with that doddering old fool McCain for a candidate.
Good night, all. Congrats to Hillary and Childers.
Goodnight, Sandy! Goodnight, all, 40 pages from finishing the book I'm reading and it's beckoning.
frosty this is for you
Now go vote for the republican party again that couldn't be stopped for 6 years.

Bush disappointed with intel before Iraq warPresident Bush said Tuesday he was disappointed in "flawed intelligence" before the Iraq war and was concerned that if a Democrat wins the presidency in November and withdrew troops prematurely it could "eventually lead to another attack on the United States."
In an interview with the political newspaper Politico and Yahoo News, Bush also said he gave up golf in 2003 out of respect for U.S. soldiers killed in the war, which has now lasted more than five years.
It seems the President did not do his "HOMEWORK" like most of Congress that some low life scum lied or had a script already made up for a Bush Iraqi War and maneuvered their way into White House briefings and sold them a bill of goods for Halliburton, Blackwaters, Carpetbaggers, War Profiteer water, and Bush Blunders of Mission Accomplished monster unbid profits. It sounds like the President was not aware, what was going on around him, for going on eight years, like Enron's Kenneth Lay.
That only now in time to fullfill his destiny of a legacy is he finding out he was betrayed by his administration's Intelligence to decieve him. While a whole American nation weeps with every body bag that the White House hides from Concrete Accountability of the "Truth" of the CEO of this nation.
Yes, Mr.President in the Enron you bankrupted your recession mark on time with a flag flying the Cheney inflation Republic of shame that America, especially the middle class, has been devasted by your hurricane Presidency. A President, who has been out of touch with the reality of Katrina's tears, torn away jobs, education gone into major disrepair, and a nation that has lost its HeArt to paint a smile of hope for tomorrow.
Mr. President, you did not give up golf out of respect to those, who paid in serving in Iraq. You live in the fear that someone was out to get you. Otherwise you would not have closed your audience with tickets demanding loyalty of allegiances. Mr. President, you trapped yourself inside a closet of conscience that will never forget the images you brought America, like that Napalm Vietnam Girl, yours are on full display on the faces of Abu Graith.
Your father served America proud, while Mr. President look around, is the World better off with your legacy? Look into the eyes of facts, people are just waiting for you to leave, so they can celebrate our Declaration of Independence.
Bush keeps trying to knock down his monumental failure by chiseling away in recognizing he made some minor mistakes, but in the end all dictators are knocked off their mile high pedestals.
So sad it could have been so different for American children's dreams in the History and Heritage of our American Artmosphere.
God Bless, Made In America in the prayers of its people uniting over our divisions of so many years of hate that Judged others so vehemently, as somehow, too Liberal a brand that they have no rights in America, because of their color, religion, and/or their love of the Liberal Arts.
Bush's legacy where Poetry died in the HeArts of many for Bush's Iraq Intelligence sake; less they write the verse of war's conscience objectors.
I learned my therapeutic rants after the Vietnam War that were banned during the Bush years by Corporate America in my home. They thought that Poetry had lost the Vietnam War by bringing out images of a Napalm Vietnam little girl. That is why in Red China they ban Poetry and Church's that are not state censored. Chinese homes have a Patriot Act of "At Will" edicts.

Wow you are posting with Bush Intelligence of his "Truth." And we all know what a liar Bush is.
OK folks I think I've got this thing finally figured out. For a while I thought it was Obama's back ground, inexperence, and political views that I didn't like. Then I started reading and learning about him and I thought - OK maybe it's his inexperence and background that I don't like. While learning about him I used the media (taken with a grain of salt) reading about his past and his political record, and talking to other Obama supporters (in my county, online...).
I was on a "quest" to learn more about someone who, it's looking like, will be my parties nominee. Now keep in mind I live in Texas so my state has already had our primary, but these questions still remain. Then her campaign went negitive BIG TIME and I found myself thinking- maybe Obama can rise us out a the muck- ok I'll give him my support. Then as I talk to Obama suporters((who by the way laugh in my face as a Hillery suppoter and then in the next breath ask for my vote for their guy in november since Hillary didn't win and I am left with no other choise but to vote for him in Nov.)) I think- maybe I like Obama- it's his suporters that I don't like.
Then Obama starts negeotations with the GOP as far as the dabate issues after both conventions. Like he has the delegate count with room to spare and a win is assured. He has completly move her off the stage with out the peoples authorization. Hillary has not dropped out, and he needs not to be so full of himself. And yesterday I get an email saying that if I sign in at the state convention as a delegate for Obama, he could take Texas away from Hillary. Now THAT'S low!!!!This is not comming from supporters, this is coming from the Obama web site!!!!!
So with that said the conclusions I have come up with are as follows:
1. I like Obama's message.
2. I like the policy proposals.
3. I don't like his supporters (they are just as mean as the Republicans in my county.)
4. I don't like Obama's inexperience.
5. I don't like Obama himself.
Actions that will be taken by me base upon the conclusion:
A. I will not give monies to the state party, the national party, or the presidental campaign.
B. I will not volunteer the hundreds of hours I have in the past to the Dem. party at any level.
C. I will schedule a breast exam and a root canal for election day. (get something good done for myself and get some realy good vicidon to ease the crappiness of the day.)
D. I will not vote for McCan't!!! (but I will not vote- for the first time in 22 years.)

And ban the Constitution as well? Ban the Biblical Verse, and the verse singing God Bless America? Why Frosty, I thought you were slightly patriotic, well go burn your books.

Well said, stand up to your views, we can respect that. I have a suggestion rather than saying you will not vote, please go to the poll and vote. When it comes to a Presidential choice you can decide then or leave it blank with a good conscience. In fact, you may write in a choice if your state allows it.
Bless you.
Obama ride the road to the White House at street level, I see you elevating yourself and that will hurt your image as you being better than others. Say that you have some bad mistakes and have learned from them and you will work hard for all Americans. Them use the charm of JFK, because McCain is lame in that department like Nixon. (I hope he has no Vietnam leg injury.)
Please Obama visit two Public Schools Systems contrasting the difference, in the need to make them work for our American future of History and Heritage. You can get Gates and others to help by saying America needs our students skills immediately.
There is one trend I see as you walking away from the working class toward a Republican corporate climate. You can wander, but remember Democrats are a "We the people" of a working Middle Class of America, not a Party of Corporate Royalty.

I am terrified of what lamebrain mcsame will do should he win the white house. Further, I believe that with democratic majorities in both houses of congress we can - at least to a degree - impose a certain amount of will upon whichever democratic candidate that we elect to the White House. That is why I am focusing my attention on the House and Senate races and will do so until the DNC gives me a democratic presidential candidate to campaign/vote for.
Instead of staying home because you are unhappy with the presidential nominee, how about getting on board with some of your senate or congressional races. Surely you can find a democrat to campaign and vote for! While the Presidency is important, the Senate and House majorities are pretty important, too!
Believe me, I live just north of the First Congressional District in Mississippi and I never thought I'd see a Democrat soundly defeat a repub for that seat - but tonight it happened!
We have a serious chance to get the ball rolling in the right direction and ensure that it stays that way! Please, if you can't find a way to support the democratic presidential candidate, at least find a democrat to support and do it! We need you!
Memphis & Poet:
In the past I have given my time to canidates to US congress, state races, state congress, mayor, and school board. I have even given time to bond issues and help work against Shrub's gay bashing mariage laws.
But when you live in Texas and most of your state officals, US congressmen, and ALL of your county officials, it seems that the Democratic party left me behind along time ago. I have been out there fighting the good fight only to be knocked down time and time again. Now I have been beat up within my own party. So with no real viably Dem. canidates on my ballott I think I'll just sit this one out. I'm tired!!!!

David: I have a request (is that okay - to request poems?) I hope that you are willing to write something in celebration of the 'small' victories that the Democrats are winning in the 'special elections' in districts that are normally republican. There is one in Louisiana (a week or so ago - Cazayou (?spelling) and then the one in Mississippi from tonight.
We need a democratic country where all people, not just the richest, are important. We need a country where work and accomplishment are valued far above wealth. In short, we need a country that stands for the middle class - us. We need a Democratic Country and if it takes us getting there in steps or degrees each year, so be it! I'll take it anyway that I can get it! Thanks for reading my request. I'll be checking in and out. I've gotten involved in the campaign for Tuke for Tennessee and that's where I have been spending the bulk of my time lately. but
GO DEMOCRATS GO!
Posted by TexasGal on May 14, 2008 at 01:43 AM
I'm sad to hear that but I haven't walked a mile in your shoes, so I don't know what you've had to deal with. I have always been a democrat but have never 'networked' with others as most of the people that I know are repubs. That was depressing. Then I found all kinds of democratic blogs where I found other dems like me. Now, I'm excited and with Mr. Childers win tonight - I'm fired up! But, if you have 'banged your head against the Red Wall' for that long, I can see how you could become frustrated. In any case, please notice that we are making strides and I hope that you can at least cheer for us. Maybe you'll get excited again soon - we can hope!

One last suggestion: if you can't find a candidate who excites and motivates you, you could always run for office yourself! Think about it. All Democrats had to start somewhere! You GO girl!
We have a saying here in Texas- Yellow Dog Democrat. ("I would rather elect a yellow dog rather than a Republican.") I will always be a YDD!!
Thank you both, good night and grand dreams for all.

Dedicated to you in a HeArt of loving American Artmosphere.
It may have typos for I rushed it just for you.
Democrat's Clean Sweep For Real Change
Oh, sing Democrats on the music of real change
Sweeping across the land of "We the people" pride
That the youth of America are getting Democratic wings
So come hither Mississippi and Louisiana join the chorus
Weathering the red, white ‘n blue flying - so proud.
Oh America, Washington is flooding from Katrina tears
Bulldozing politician out of town that have been a**es
Bring in fresh air rejuvenation from the Democrat Party core
Cheney’s gas has finally mustered too much corporate ill will
God Bless Made In America patriots, workers of Home Sweet Home.
Oh Democrats, who negativity had tried to divide us in hate
Join US in a greater love of a nation fulfilling our united legacy
Our destiny is not of a Corporate Government Yoke Republic,
The Joke is on Republicans “We have reclaimed our Heritage ‘n
History of founding fathers veterans who battled for this nation.
Oh, state after state, make your “Declaration of Independence”
Be heard like the “sho(u)t heard around the word”
“Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”
So Democrats hold hands not as black, white, man, woman,
Liberal, Conservative or any diversive division but as Americans
Kick off your shoes and let’s create Freedom and Democracy
Magic for “We the people” have some real “Home-work” to do.
Yes, I know Artmosphere and diversive are not words, please give me a Poetic License.
Working on this when I was asked to do this poem.
God Bless Made In America
Come dance with me among winged voices of America
Riding their spirit across this land on wings of Liberty
From words flying high in our Constitution crying out loud
Proud in patriotism of this red, white, ‘n blue patriot feeling.
I know it is corny to believe in a Constitution and still believe Poetry means something in America.
Of course MLK's words ring out in the first poem, among others.
Earlier on Friday, Reid added, “I think it’s wrong what he’s done [campaigning for McCain], and I told him that.” The Guardian added this item yesterday, suggesting the Republican convention may be the line Lieberman cannot cross, as far as the Democratic leadership is concerned
Pam - Harry Reid has been a total weak leader. Anyone with half a brain would have kicked that fat ass grinning goon out of the party long ago. Having a big "D" behind Lieberman's name is an insult to the party. The sooner Reid does something about this joke - the better!
Bits and pieces this morning,
Let's see, Oh Yes, CBS reporting this morning that San Antonio Pastor John Hagee has apologized for "his anti Catholic remarks" ...they really took it easy on him, they did not mention that in several roaring sermons he has referred to the Catholic Church as "the Great Whore of Babylon"....I Have to wonder if McCain got his knee pads on to get Hagee to make that apology. Anyone who has ever heard Hagee bellow about this subject could only conclude that this "apology" is politically motivated. I have to wonder what McCain has promised Hagee in order to get him to apologize to the Catholic Church. Hagee is a strong supporter of Israel, do you think it's possible McCain promised Hagee that he (McCain) would happily bomb Iran?
"Christian" TV preachers starting to ramp up their anti "liberal" rants during their tv sermons. Pat Robertson and Hagee both went of on "stupid liberals" yesterday. HMMMMMMMM, what was t5hat about tax exempt status?
Johne, I see where we're going to get some nasty weather about noon today and some double nasty weather tomorrow from that low that is presently over NM. Thanks buddy!
Morning JohnBoy,
It got cloudy yesterday but no rain. The weather report says numerous thunderstorms today. So cross your fingers. The humidity was 6% yesterday and 82% now. That's a good sign. We have been dry too long.
Some U.S. detainees drugged for deportation: reportThe newspaper said it has identified 250 cases in which the government has, without medical reason, given drugs meant to treat serious psychiatric disorders to people it has shipped out of the United States since 2003.
Involuntary chemical restraint of detainees without medical justification is a violation of some international human rights codes, the Post reported.
So like waterboarding the Bush administration is drugging people against their will and against International Law. Okay where is the John Yoo justification for this procedure?
JohnE, that lurching, doddering old man, McNuts, is still wondering around saying foolish things. Obama mopped him up yesterday, when he (Obama) was discussing McNuts refusal to support Webb's veterans legislation. McNut has a death wish if he really wants to debate Obama.
Democrats,
If we believe, as some would have us believe, that it is important to continue to expose possible weakness in our eventual nominee, then in fairness we must extend that process to Hillary Clinton.
Here is a fact that would have an impact if Hillary was to run against John McCain. The Clintons earned 120 million dollars since 2000. In other words they are elite and could not possibly understand the pain of working class Americans. In states like West Virginia, which went for George Bush in the past, this is a big problem. Despite record turnouts yesterday, Hillary could lose this state against McCain when this point is made.
Hawkishness, is our next issue. There is no arguing that Hillary Clinton has spent the bulk of these past 7 years speaking and voting in support the Iraq war. Yes she has changed her tune since then, to some extent, but this long term support will hang around her neck suggesting weakness as a Commander in Chief.
That's right, I a Marine who has spent much of my life preparing for war, am saying that Hillary's long term support for the war though it has changed makes her a weak leader. Our leader must demonstrate an ability to make good decisions, especially when pressured to do otherwise. And Hillary Clinton can not claim to have done that.
The problem doesn't stop there either. Like it or not, the Bush administration has continued its manipulation of the American People since our invasion of Iraq, and Hillary Clinton has fallen for that manipulation Hook, Line, and Sinker. Iran, and Hillary's resistence to diplomatic negotiations is a prime example.
So, now all we have to truly decide is, is Hillary Clinton gullible or did she know what she was doing when she supported Iraq war and now speaks in favor of strikes on Iran? I have a hard time deciding, but it truly doesn't matter because either flaw is disqualifying.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,
McNuts ='s knee pads, pandering for support, ='s
a new name!
Hail McSlurp!
Kathy-from-Indiana,I couldn`t agree more.It shows a reflection of how easily manipulated our party is.We don`t need that in our party, and actually he really doesn`t represent our party.lieberswine has also had 2 fundraisers for(R)Susan Collins in Maine for her re-election.I`ve been working on the Tom Allen campaign and seeing the impact that has.He knows Susan Collins has given the votes to keep the war going and the tax cuts for the wealthy coming. Those are the 2 major issues that have our country in this disaster! So that`s what Lieberman supports and the Democratic Party doesn`t.He`s no JFK and he`s no Democrat.

DEMOCRATS: DON’T LET REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP TAKE THEIR CHEAP SHOT AT POLITICALLY PLAYING ARMS CONTROL - SUGGEST BOTH, ASSAULT WEAPONRY OUT OF CRIMINALS HANDS AND THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS STILL PROTECTED
BILL OF RIGHTS
Amendment II
A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
What about a ‘Democratic’ ban on assault weaponry that includes a clause that if the government raises assault weaponry on any peaceful protest the assault weaponry ban will automatically be lifted for six months? (An established message to the U.S. Government from the American Public not to use such weaponry against public protesters and protect the rights of the militias at the same time?)

HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH: www.hrw.org
“The Role of Shell in the Ogoni Crisis and Shell’s Attempts to Import Weapons”
“During 1996, newspaper investigations revealed that Shell had recently been in negotiation for the import of arms for use by the Nigerian police. In January 1996, in response to these allegations, Shell stated that it had in the past imported side arms on behalf of the Nigerian police force, for use by the “supernumerary police” who are on attachment to Shell and guard the company’s facilities (and other oil company facilities) against general crime. The last purchase of weapons by Shell was said to be of 107 handguns for its supernumerary police, fifteen years before. But court papers filed in Lagos in July 1995 and reported in the British press in February 1996 revealed that Shell had as late as February 1995 been negotiating for the purchase of weapons for the Nigerian police.”
“During the height of the Ogoni crisis, allegations of Shell collaboration with the military were regularly made, even after the company ceased production from its flow stations in Ogoni in January 1993. A document alleged to be a leaked government memorandum from 1994 implicated Shell in planned “wasting operations” by the Rivers State Internal Security Task Force, stating that the oil companies should pay the costs of the operations. The head of the Task Force several times publicly claimed to be acting so that Shell’s oil production could resume.”
“The most serious case in which an oil company is directly implicated in security force abuses continues to be the incident at Umuechem in 1990, where a Shell manager made a written and explicit request for protection from the Mobile Police (a notoriously abusive force), leading to the killing of eighty unarmed civilians and the destruction of hundreds of homes.”
________________________________________________________________
(Keep in mind people and/or gun owners, that a ban on assault weaponry in the U.S. will also keep U.S. corporations from buying assault weaponry in the U.S. and sending them to other countries to fight against certain rebels or supply certain rebels for their business interests. As well as keeping assault weaponry out of the hands of criminals, the morally disturbed mentally challenged, criminal gangs and organized crime groups and members.)
By all means people and/or gun owners, have both your protection, and the world’s protection and your rights to the militia too. Don’t take the Republican leaderships politically easy shot at your vote in giving you just one while ignoring the other; vote Democratic and push a Democratic agenda where both the American minority and majority views have their voices heard and answered in what is suppose to be, this Democratic country.
Thank you Democrats in West Virginia for voting for Hillary Clinton to be the next president of the United States!

tell me about it! :)
I have been watching the man play games with his votes for years in this state, waiting till the end to vote until he sees if the Repugs need his vote or not, and if they do he will vote with them. If not, he will try and pretend he is a "bipartisan" Democrat !
I despise the man, and the day Harry Reid and the leadership get enough Senate seats, I will lead a march on their offices to kick his sorry ass to the curb!
Even with $200 Million, Barack has not been able to win over large numbers of key voter demographics needed to win in November. This has changed very little since Super Tuesday. For months, I've been blogging what many Democrats that support Hillary Clinton for president already know...Senator Obama would lose in an electoral landslide to John McCain. In this election year, voters want the next president to be strong on national defense (as they viewed Ronald Reagan), and strong on fixing the economy (like they view Bill Clinton). Unfortuately, Senator Obama is viewed by the vast majority of American voters as inexperienced and unproven. In contrast, Hillary Clinton and John McCain are well-known, and well-tested. Democrats in West Virginia have spoken loud and clear. Hillary Clinton is the Democrat that can beat John McCain in 2008.
Democratic Party there will be no Obama vote on my ballot as he is not up to the task yet in his life’s journey. He needs more time and more experience say in 8 years he could be ready to be our Presidential leader.

You know, I am really getting so tired of hearing this lame arguement ! Is anyone so naive or uninformed, as to think a President does not name a cabinet of the most qualified people in each area to ADVISE him on!? You think Clinton will not do the same? Your boss does not have a manager in every dept who is an expert in that aspect of the business, who he delegates the work to?
Come on you guys. If you don't like him, just say so, but knock off the Inexperience bullcrap !

What in the world are you talking about!!!
If you have "an assault weapons ban", then law abiding citizens will not have any "assault weapons" so that if the ban were lifted because of violations by the Federal Government, they, lawful citizens, would not be able to protest.
For your information, the Federal Government already owns assault weapons, ie M14's, M15's, M16's, AK 47'S etc. If you impose a " assault weapons ban," the government would have the authority to confiscate all "assault weapons" including all hand guns, all shotguns, etc. You would simply be disarming law abiding citizens and adding redundancy. The government already has this power.
All, in all, you don't make much sense on this issue!

I have said since day one, (2 years ago), that before the Republicans let Bill Clinton waltz back up Pennsylvania Avenue and get back in that White House, they will vote in droves. They will GOTV like they never did before. They will smear and swiftboat every little act that Bill committed . They will cheat, lie, use fraud, fix machines, and do whatever it takes, but they will not let him get back in there. So anne, dream on if you think Clinton would landslide McCain!

BYD,
Let's be be honest here. WV as a swing state? come on. That's like saying North Dakota is a bellweather for new fashions trends.
And what happened in 1918 no longer applies in BushWorld. We've entered the Twilight Zone of Buch vs Gore and blatant bragging by the GOP of legalized voter suppression.
"Got your birth certificate and GOP voter I.D. card, buddy? Don't come in here telling us you have a right to vote unless we say you do. The Constitution and it's Bill of Rights is just a piece of paper to us."
It's going to take new Democratic ideas and messages from what worked in 1918 to win in the future.
We can't keep reverting back to swing state strategies that only work for some candidates not the entire state slates across the country. We have to give voters innovation and honesty...not pandering and jive.
But I am happy that it appears that at least in some parts of the country we are getting past our prejudices and starting to vote the issues instead of a person's gender or the color of their skin...and it's taken our kid's generation getting involved in politics to finally get us to that point.
Embrace the future. You really don't have any other choice.
Note to Michael and staff:
The only way to break into the new morning open thread is to make up a new user name and persona. You're giving sally* a reason to ride into town wearing a white hat...and a concealed swastaka tatooed to his butt.
THE FIRST THING FIDEL CASTRO DID WHEN HE CAME TO POWER WAS TO GET ALL THE CITIZENS OF CUBA TO LIST ALL THEIR WEAPONS, CASTRO TOLD THEM THE GOVERNMENT NEEDED THIS INFORMATION SO THEY WOULD KNOW WHO HAD WEAPONS AND COULD HELP DEFEND THE COUNTRY.
ONCE HE KNEW WHERE THE WEAPONS WERE, HE SENT OUT HIS SOLDIERS AND CONFISCATED ALL THE WEAPONS. THEN THE SOLDIERS RAPED AND KILLED THE WIVES, DAUGHTERS AND SONS OF THOSE WHO PROTESTED.
EIIZ, IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY WITH AN ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN, WHY DON'T YOU MOVE TO CUBA? YOU'LL LOVE IT THERE!
Posted by PamB on May 14, 2008 at 09:14 AM
Amen to that.
And it will undo all the hard work we have done at the grassroots level in the past four years. Nobody deserves the White House (for a third term) at the risk of hurting Democratic state races. We need a Super Majority.
while the DNC is fixing the Glitch with new morning thread, I shall shower and have breakfast. bbl............

Are you saying we may need an assault rife to get your voted counted in the future? You may have a point there. I'm with you. Let's keep the Bill of Rights enforced...all of them. We've seen what Bush/Cheney has done to the rest.
Gotta run. later.
Oh Pam B. You've told us before that you were an independent until 2001, not a Democrat that voted for George McGovern like me. Did you vote for Ross Parot, or Ralph Nader? Why do you hate President Bill Clinton? Did you call Bill Clinton a draft dodger back in the 1990s? Well, I'll tell you what I believe. Bill Clinton was a great president. President Clinton turned around a failing economy, and an era of peace and posperity for Americans.
How would the choice of running mate help Senator Obama’s chances of beating John McCain? Not very much! Lloyd Bentsen wasn’t able to help win Texas in 1988. John Edwards wasn’t able to help win North Carolina in 2004. Hillary Clinton might be able to help Senator Obama win New York...even if she is not on the ticket. However, Senator Clinton would have little influence outside of New York. Surprisingly, I agree with Ted Kennedy on Barack’s choice of running mate, should he become the nominee. Barack should look for someone that shares his vision. Someone like Gov. Bill Richardson.
goodfoe,
I assumed everyone would know I am talking about automatic weapons, ie M14's, M15's, M16's, AK 47'S etc.
I think the Democratic Party could consider banning automatic assault weaponry in the public’s hands while somehow making a clause in the ban that the ban could be temporarily lifted if the government ever uses those certain automatic weapons against protesters. That idea could still support the public’s right to bear those certain arms while protecting the public from others who abuse those rights.
Think, goodfoe, how else could both the rights to bear arms and the protection of the American Public and the world be protected at the same time? Do you have any other ideas other than buying into the Republican Party’s cheap political shot at the gun owners vote that their is no middle ground between the two causes? I mean, the Republican agenda doesn’t intimidate me, does it you?

That is so correct Pam. The real issue is not assault weapons, it is resources, the resources to do the job to enforce the laws we already have. We have the largest prison population in the world. The start probably needs to be to decriminalize ownership of small quantities of pot and reduce our prison population by releasing these non violent offenders. Then it is going to take more judges, more police to enforce the existing good laws that are already on the books. That meas taxes. Passing more unreasonable, unenforceable gun laws to pander to people who want a simplistic, quick fix to the problem is simply that, pandering.
You are right, more gun law proposals will cost the Dem's election in slots all up and down the ticket. The American people, at least 60 million of us have had it with the gun control crowd. It's not the 4-5 million members of the NRA that you have to fear at the polls, it's all of us who own guns and damn well intend to keep them. We will not be made a whipping boy for the crimes committed by others any longer. BTW, McCain is the worst of the three candidates on gun control. He has lied his ass off on theiissue.

The public needs protection from those who abuse those rights, it would save lives.

Do you have any other ideas other than Pam B's idea of buying into the Republican Party’s cheap political shot at the gun owners vote that their is no middle ground between the two causes so I better act like a Bushie and be quiet about it? I mean, the Republican agenda on arms control doesn’t intimidate me, it puts me up in arms, doesn't it you?
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT SOME OF YOU OTHER PEOPLE, BUT I AM A DEMOCRAT!
DEMOCRATS: DON’T LET REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP TAKE THEIR CHEAP SHOT AT POLITICALLY PLAYING ARMS CONTROL - SUGGEST BOTH, AUTOMATIC ASSAULT WEAPONRY OUT OF CRIMINALS HANDS AND THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS STILL PROTECTED
Bill of Rights
Amendment II
A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
What about a ‘Democratic’ ban on automatic assault weaponry that includes a clause that if the government raises assault weaponry on any peaceful protest the assault weaponry ban will automatically be lifted for six months? (An established message to the U.S. Government from the American Public not to use such weaponry against public protesters and protect the rights of the militias and the right to bear arms at the same time?)

(Keep in mind people and/or gun owners, that a ban on automatic assault weaponry in the U.S. will also keep U.S. corporations from buying assault weaponry in the U.S. and sending them to other countries to fight against certain rebels or supply certain rebels for their business interests.
(goodfoe and pam b, thanks for pointing out my mistake so I could correct myself.)
for MI karen , if richardson is the vp choice then the election is lost that ticket would lose all the Hillary backers for his backstabbing of her. and he is not qualified , saw an interveiw with him on Tavis Smiley's show and he refused to criticize the worst ag in our countries history Alberto Gonzalez because Alberto was a fellow hispanic. Where as he should have held him to a higher standard because he was the highest ranking hispanic ever to hold a position.
