McCain's Campaign of Lobbyists
Posted by Michael Link on May 16, 2008 at 01:39 PM
How many lobbyists does John McCain have running his campaign -- even at the very highest levels?
So many that he lost count.
Yes, with resignation after resignation and controversy after controversy about John McCain's connections to lobbyists -- which, by the way, have done their lobbying work inside of the campaign bus -- he's now being forced to re-vet his entire campaign staff:
After a series of disclosures forced the resignation of two McCain campaign aides with ties to unsavory regimes, the campaign has decided to scrutinize the background of the entire staff to ferret out connections to lobbyists.
This morning, according to two Republicans with direct knowledge, Rick Davis, the campaign manager, e-mailed to McCain's entire staff a memo entitled "McCain Campaign Conflicts Policy" -- Effective Today" that includes a questionnaire asking about previous professional activities.
One of the questions asks: "Have you ever been a registered lobbyist at either the Federal or State level?" Another asks: "Have you ever been a registered foreign agent? A third asks staff members to list all of their previous lobbying or foreign government clients.
But what about change at the very top?
Charlie Black is McCain's "senior counsel and spokesman." MoveOn.org is taking aim at him in a new ad:
Some organizations are calling on McCain to fire even more.

The evangelicals will NOT be amused.
There is something really swarmy about the close relationships that the Republicans have made with brutal dictators...and the sufffering that it has brought to the poor in those nations.
Everyone who feels that the American consumer has been shafted because of K Street corruption is going to be disgusted when they find out how much McCain relies on these leeches.
McCain doesn't want to do business differently in Washington...he wants to institutionalize K Street deep within his administration.
He doesn't know any other way to operate. They are His People.

"The team was led by calm and focused campaign manager David Plouffe; their strategy was inspired by the candidate's experience as a community organizer. They built a campaign designed to accomplish what other political sensations like Gary Hart and Howard Dean failed to do — turn the energy and excitement of the Obama phenomenon into long-term results."
Whatever, dream on!!! Hillary ran a strong excellent campaign in the last stretch, but the black votes changed everything. If North Carolina was not all African American, Hillary would have stepped all over him.
Hillary, you ran a great race, but Obama has the full support of the black community, so dont worry. You're the best! You're the real winner. You're the candiate with the solution and vision. He's the candidate with speeches.
I cant wait to watch Obama lose in the general election, especially if he doesnt pick Hillary as the VP.
You have to earn votes and if you cant attract the red necks, Obama will be another Kerry.

" Michelle Obama, the candidate's wife, is his closest confidant. She often says, "I'm not his senior adviser, I'm his wife." But she also talks about how dinner conversations about their family are what's in his mind when he's crafting policy. She's the ultimate truth teller to the candidate; he calls her for feedback after debates. She has led the campaign's outreach to female voters: As a lawyer and hospital executive, she provides evidence that Obama respects strong women even as he's campaigning against one. "
Michelle needs to keep her mouth shut and follow after Hillary's footstep - sit back and let her man lead the show. Dont talk too much when you get in the White House, you'll be hated.

It did not matter whether or not Obama could solve problems, the African Community was still going to vote for him. This, my friend, is the reason why he's beating Hillary.
Hillary took Indiana away from him. She walked all over him in Texas and Ohio. I'm sadden she will have to lose because of Florida and Michigan. It's sad, the best candidates, Hillary and Gore will be denied the presidency, because of Florida.
Hillary needs to be the President with Obama as the Vice President. He can organize her work and she can lead in solving problems.
We, americans are stupid. We picked the wrong President with little knowledge and skills and we're doing it again, this time, with the Democratic Party.
I dont know. I have got this hunch, McCain may win, if Hillary isnt the VP.
I hate hate to see 4 more years of the same. This is painful!!! really painful!!!
Why must democrats hire wimps and republicans, crooks, all the time?

If President, this is their achievements,
McCain = Name tag replacement from Bush to McCain
Obama = graduating from training wheels of President 101 (meaning we're screwed with his inability to act swiftly. He repeats everything after Hillary)
Hillary = results that are even better than her husband

BERLIN (Reuters) - The United States is already in a recession and it will be longer as well as deeper than many people expect, U.S. investor Warren Buffett said in an interview published in German magazine Der Spiegel on Saturday.

He said the United States was "already in recession" and added: "Perhaps not in the sense that economists would define it" with two consecutive quarters of negative growth.
Yeah, we did it to ourselves when we did not elect the right leader.

Having the first African-American run with a woman may also offer ``too much change,'' he said. ``That may be injecting too much risk in the calculus.''
These statements are not true at all. Both bases will be extremely happy and will go out and vote for them.
Hillary is a woman, but she's not just any woman. She's a Clinton and we all know she has what it takes.
You cannot change the world if yuo dont understnd your issues and you dont understand the past.

They're a perfect fuse. They just need to balance it, to complete the circle

It's like this, you admire your candidate so much, you're glad he/she is on ticket, you dont even care about what the past was like...
We're going to go through a nasty recession. We need experience. if you dont think you do, the next time you have a heart-attack, call up a doctor fresh from graduation.
