Good morning Dem's,...Repost
So, the wanna-be drug store cowboy sounded off in Israel yesterday about Obama being willing to negotiate with Iran. Considering Bush's record of lying failure in everything he has touched, it is the height of arrogance for him to comment on anything. If he were wise, he would just keep quiet until he is out of office and then slink off to Paraguay.
The fact that the doddering old fool from Arizona chose to jump in after Bush's comments, only shows that he is again tying himself to Bush. That makes them both what? THE FAILURE TWINS!
I received a email this am from moveon.org. It seems that the SwiftBoat vets are saying they are really going to swiftboat Obama. Big deal! We expect that. Obama just keeps rising above it. Hillary came to his defense BTW. Nice.
All, in all, the Republicans still do not understand their failure, they again underestimate the bubbling anger of the public.
I look forward to the campaign, it's going to be real fun.
It's going to be a wipe out for the Rethuglicans, all up and down the ticket starting with the presidency.
In Texas, Rick Noreiga only trails Senator Cornpone by 4 points. Any small contribution you might make to Rick's campaign will be appreciated.
The fact that Bush took that cheap, cowardly shot at Obama started my day off well. I see the start of the death throes of Bush and his accomplishes already!
Senator Cornyn (Cornpone) commented on the court decision in California. Said he thought we need a national amendment banning same sex marriage. Cornpone, with that slick tupe' he wears has been a Bush enabler and boot licker since day one!
We have a rally good, honest man running against Cornpone here in Texas. A State Senator who served in Afghanistan. Rick Noriega. Any small contribution you can make to his campaign will be greatly appreciated and you will be helping to get rid of a true Republican carpet bagger and strike a blow for real Democracy.
Morning JohnBoy,
We had a good rain most of yesterday morning then sprinkles until well into the evening.
That disgusting POS who calls himself our president is done. He should just stay with his buddies in saudi aragheadiaia. In fact we should order the pilot of air force one to leave him in the middle east and fly OUR plane back empty.
His buddy bin laden is speaking out again. It seems he does this every election cycle just to make sure cheney's enablers are reelected.
I see through these bastards. Reopen the 9/11 investigation.
Here locally, a nice lady who worked for Enron got a check for $726 from a settlement on a class action lawsuit. She had lost 10's of thousands of dollars of retirement benefits.
Enron sent her a letter demanding the $726 back. Said they made a mistake.
When asked by a local TV reporter what she thought of the situation she replied,
"First they kick you in the ass, then they tell you to bend over so they can kick you in the ass again!"
This is not an isolated situation. Many former Enron employees have received similar letters from Enron. Good luck on getting that money back!
That cornpone sounds like a typical asshole repuke.
I am fed up with these people. It is none of their damn business what gay people do. As far as I am concerned, they are some of the best people we have around. They work hard and are really sensitive to people's needs unlike the so-called "compassionate conservatives".
Good morning JohnE, we ave had some of your rain over here too. Bush is a disaster that our grrandchildren will be paying the price for.
BTW, what is the situation on water in your area? Here, in parts of Texas, we have some sort of super water district where you can't even drill water wells on your own property. If I ever get enough money to move out of "Bush" country, I want to make sure my children don't have to buy water from Bush's aquifer in Paraguay.
Enron is another story. They really screwed the state and the people of Califrnia. I'll bet the family's of lay and that other criminal have millions stashed away in a bank in Switzerland or the Cayman Islands but the neocon judges and attorneys will not go after this money. Every penny of the money should be recovered and distributed first of all the the pensioneers then to California. I'll bet the money would more than cover the losses from these bastard neocon bush and cheney buddies.
These judges need to be REMOVED.
geez zero to seven that fast!

Biden rips bush a new one.
Kerry rips bush a second new one.
and a third one in writing.
JohnBoy,
The state water people came out the other day and checked my well. They found that my standing water level is 340 feet (the well is 495 feet deep. The water infiltrates the fractures and runs under my propery from the mountains behind me.
They had a request from the railroad who wants to pump a well about a mile away and use the water for about two years to dust the roads while they build a second bridge up Abo Canyon. The state was checking all wells within a one mile radius before the issue a permit. They plan to run the information through a computer program to try to predict the drawdown. If it is too much then they will tell the railroad no.
It sounds like they are going to the tell the railroad no. What a waste of good water. The railroad can use a liquid (lignon sulfonate) left over from paper pulp manufacture. It provides really good dust control qualities and hardens the surface like asphalt. It is much better than water.
Another item of local interest only.
Spring Independent School District reported that a school employee took a school lap top computer home with her. Instead of locking it in the truck of her car out of sight, she left it in the passenger compartment while she stopped and went into a "business."
Someone broke into her car and stole the computer which contained the tax scores, names, social security numbers, gender, home address on some thing like 8000 students.
Now, the school district has sent home a letter on the situation advising the parents to contact all three of the major credit agencies. etc. etc. It seems to me that since the school districts employee, through her misfeasance, should do all the clerical work necessary to mitigate this problem.
The Spring School District is one of the best in the Houston area. The district didn't have any trouble getting a bond issue for hundreds of millions of dollars approved to keep providing good schools. The property owners and parents have done their job, the school district should step up and do it's job in this situation it created.
Morning DooBee and Veneita.
cheney is awfully quiet this week. What, is he out doing a fifty state campaign for bush's twin?
This is so funny! Someone needs to find and roll that beautiful bean footage!
Hypocrisy on Hamas
McCain Was for Talking Before He Was Against It
By James P. Rubin
Friday, May 16, 2008; Page A19
But given his own position on Hamas, McCain is the last politician who should be attacking Obama. Two years ago, just after Hamas won the Palestinian parliamentary elections, I interviewed McCain for the British network Sky News's "World News Tonight" program. Here is the crucial part of our exchange:
I asked: "Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge?"
McCain answered: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so . . . but it's a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that."
The writer, an adjunct professor at Columbia University's School of International Affairs, was an assistant secretary of state and the State Department's chief spokesman during the Clinton administration.
Bush was taking a huge hit this morning on C-spann. One man said he isn't the pres of america, he acts more like the pres. of the republican party.
On the gay marriage issue, I thought I heard the mayor of San Fran say that the state supreme court was made up of 6 republican appointments. Could this be true. If so, with a republican govenor this is a "republican thing." Neither of our candidates was for it.
The timing couldn't be worse, and is suspect, just when you got people looking at their economic futures this republican court votes for gay marriage. Now will they try to get it on the ballot again in the fall. We can't let them hi-jack another election on this issue.
Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain were walking down the street, Hilary was carrying a bowling ball, Barack was carrying a pool cue, and McCain was carrying a car door.
When asked why she was carrying a bowling ball, Hilary replied,” When I feel like chilling , I get together with family and friends and go bowling.”
Barack answered similarly,” When I feel like chilling I get together with family and friends and shoot some billiards.”
McCain said, “When I feel like chilling, I roll down my window.”

Thanks for the links. Bush is such a despicable excuse for a leader of the American People.
I listened to Pastor Ron Parsley briefly yesterday. He was ranting about "the left wing" blogs not quoting him correctly. Apparently he reads some of our blogs and is pretty thin skinned. His selling "miracle cures" in return for contributions reminds me of the church in the middle ages selling "dispensations" to the gullible to get their parents out of purgatory. Jesus warned of ravening wolves in sheep's clothing, think about that Rod!
Sen. Jim Webb is going to be on 'Press the Meathead with Timmeh' this Sunday. I wonder how he feels about Chimpy's little political speech in Israel? It should be interesting.
Saudi Arabia, Bush, and the Iraq War
Since a time shortly following our invasion of Iraq, U.S. forces began encountering foreign fighters from within Saudi Arabia. In fact, those Saudi fighters were encountered at far greater a rate than any other foriegn fighter inside Iraq.
This was a problem for us in Iraq. A far greater problem than we now face because with these fighters came the bulk of our enemies bomb making materials. And the roadside bombs made from these materials, remain the most deadly piece of armerment encountered by our troops in Iraq.
Now, we have found a way to improve relations with this group in Iraq. Today, we refer to them as Sunni, completely ignoring where they've come from. These are the Sunni fighters who recently agreed to refocus their attacks on Shia forces alone.
Iran, Bush, and the Iraq War
Before the Iraq war began, Iran expressed concerns. They cited the proximity of fighting in Afghanistan and a move into Iraq that would sandwich their nation between two U.S. led wars. Their concern was understandable after years of bad blood shared between our nations.
Still, foreign fighters from within Iran have trickled across the border when compared with those coming from Saudi Arabia. They have been far less damaging, in spite of the fact that our interactions have been deadly. Also, the roadside bombs they brought with them have created far fewer casualties than those brought in by Saudi fighters.
A few years ago, a bi-partisan group known as the Iraq Study Group met to consider these facts and others in deciding where we should go next in Iraq. Their recommendation was to engage Iraq's neighbors. George Bush ignored their recommendation.
Since that time our problems with Iran have worsened. The Bush administration has escalated tensions with many threats, threats not made against Saudi Arabia in spite of their more deadly presence in Iraq. And, since that time, our military has encountered Iranians in Iraq more often, not less often.
The Bush administration advertizes its actions as helpful to our troops in Iraq, and yet more die because of their actions. The Bush administration advertizes its actions as productive in resolving our conflicts, and yet our conflicts escalate. The Bush administration makes many promises which don't come to fruition.
Good Morning Democrats.
Democrats let US bring back our Constitutional homes blessed with Freedom and Democracy.
Lebanon, Bush, and the Iraq War
In Lebanon, Shia forces clash with Sunnis. Each receives support from without the country, the Shia through contacts with Shia communities elsewhere, including in Iran, and the Sunni from Sunni communities in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere.
Now, we had many years of peace in Lebanon before the 2006 attacks launched by Israel. And, while those attacks were not directly responsible for the escalation of tensions between Sunni and Shia there, the Bush sponsored foreign policy there did.
In 2006, the Bush administration extended its policy to confront Shia forces into Lebanon. This it disguised as aide for the Lebanese government reeling from recent attacks from Israel. This is a conflict that would not have occurred had it not been for the division of Shia and Sunni inside Iraq.
It's simple really. The Bush administration took sides with the most powerful force fighting us inside Iraq. They've appeased those forces in Iraq and appear to have begun assisting them elsewhere.
OK, I guess I can't read any newer posts unless / until I make a new one, so here goes.
This is the height of "OOPS!"
Tough Competition
Thaht's what they get by trying to move the convention as close to 9-11 as possible.
DPD,....Jim Webb would probably like to rip Bush's head off and show it to Cheney. But he won't, he'll just slice and dice the two up politically and give the carcases to the Iraqi's to do what ever they want with them.
You people are so full of sh^t. Have you no understanding of what is at stake here. When Edwards was out, you all had nice things to say to his supporters. You people have made so many of her supporters feel like you did not care about their votes. Her supporters have been characterized by the people supporting Obama as uneducated, racist, old hags. Well if your "MAN" (The only MAN who can unite America) does not feel like the 17 million uneducated, racist, old white women votes are important; don't get mad when a whole hell of lot of those votes are cast for someone else. Oh and by no means should any of you real true Democrats take responsibility for the role you yourself have played in alienating core constituents that have a long history of phone banking, fund raising, door knocking, and yes the most important- vote casting in support of the Democratic party- faithfully.
Take heart, I am sure you don't need us.
Good morning Marine, I have to leave soon, just wanted to say "Howdy!"

What brought all that on and just who (specifically) are you talking to?
Looks like I've killed the4 blog again. Soooooooooooooo Solyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
I have a meeting to go to, see all you fine Dem's later!
So, all anyone has to do is say "stupid Senator" and Obama will be offended?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha
Good Morning
Just logged on and had to share
For the Hillary supporters who are rushing to McCains side, voting against their childrens future on so many levels, just by voting republican, but here he is on the one subject that should turn your stomach if nothing else does, because you all care about the way women and girls have been treated and FAMILY VALUES.
McCain on Women,
about 4 weeks ago , I asked my great friend in Arizona who is an ardent Hillary supporter , about the McCain /Clinton friendship. With her permission-----Here is part of her reply {she is an old white bitter, pissed off female}
Hillary and John friends?
Don’t you believe it sweety----all that posturing to get the McCain centrist votes, was purely to help her win against Obama. She will do almost anything to get to go at the republicans in the General---she has been planning a revenge for how they treated her, for 9 years. She has had 527’s lined up for just about as long.
I can not believe Obama is going to take this opportunity away from her. She completely counted on the black vote.
The best revenge ever for the way they treated her, and Bill, would be for her to win President of the United States 2008!!!!!!! She was going to disembo_wel McCain, or any other republican that they put against her.
Unfortunately, she can’t go after McCain for all his womanizing, like they did Bill, but at least Bill didn’t abandon Hillary for his fantasies.
Can you believe the republicans are running a self professed womanizer, adulterer, party animal on their “family values” ticket. Their whole line up, except Huckabee and Paul, were old adultering, womanizing white hairs. And there are still republicans that can’t get over Bill Clinton’s womanizing ways.
Politically, it is impossible to go after them in the media for any other reason. If she is campaigning against them, it would be EXPECTED, and cheered by over half the country. I feel so bad for her right now, and just contributed what will probably be my last contribution.
Here is an example of their friendship and just a tiny part of what this mother has been carrying.
They have been on the hard end of his behavior."
But only a few news outlets, like the Phoenix New Times in Arizona and the National Journal, that ran an Associated Press story reporting McCain's 1998 joke suggesting that Chelsea Clinton was ugly and Janet Reno and Hillary Clinton were lesbians.
"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?" McCain said at a GOP fund-raiser in Washington. "Because Janet Reno is her father."
McCain apologized to the Clintons. But more recently, McCain said on Fox News, "You know, the French remind me a little bit of an aging actress of the 1940s who is still trying to dine out on her looks but doesn't have the face for it."

Mine
Yes, it is very clear how McCain feels about women and their keeping them “in their place”
As he laughs with his buddies about “beating the bitch” (that would be a highly valued woman Senator and top running candidate for President of the United States of America)
A book is coming out quoting him calling his wife a cu_nt and trollop in public.
He does not believe women should get the same pay for doing the same work as a man, (the women who are simply supporting their children, cannot possibly have the same value as a man, who may need to pay big money for a prostitute)
He wants to put pregnant women, (the ones who don’t have the money to take time off work and fly overseas), single moms struggling to support their children, in prison and put their then motherless, homeless children in orphanages,
but allows that it is o.k. if you have enough money to send your girlfriends, mistresses, wives, and daughters overseas to have abortions.
Of course, HE won’t be supporting these children, private corporations have been set in motion, and your taxes will have to be raised to give these corporations to house these children in orphanages.
FAMILY VALUES as long the tax payer is forking out the money.
It is well known that it is not a man he has cleaning his many toilets in his many mansions, it is a woman, it is “their place”
More will be revealed in the UPCOMING BOOK THE REAL MCCAIN
And if you think that might be not so good for your daughters future, Obama was born in Hawaii to parents attending a higher education facility and his father has family in Kenya. Can you believe that his dad left him at 2 years old to go onto further his education, and his white mom and grandmother raised him?
Posted by hope23 on May 16, 2008 at 09:46 AM
What are the shriekers going to do about the LARGER group of people who voted for Obama?
I wasn't aware that WV even HAD 17 million voters who voted for her. BTW, Hillary won the majority of votes of the people with high income and higher education in the WV Primary. She must be an "elitist".
After all this race baiting and "elitist latte drinking egg heads" crap that team Clinton has entered into the vocabulary does she really expect ANY of those people to vote for her? She'd better not count on getting a large turnout in the AA community.
Here's a clue, she was supposed to win that State by that margin. As was she supposed to win OH by 25% (it didn't happen), PA by 25% (it was 8.5%), and TX (she LOST).
Somebody is going to be the last one standing in Denver, (if this contest even lasts that long) and THAT is who I am voting for in November.
Kerry on cnn
Biden on cnn. This was powerful. It's unfortunate that these guys can't be who they are in these videos when they run for president.
What kind of man would go after the daughter of an opponent ( little girl), calling her ugly, as a way to win favor with his party?
What kind of party, would enjoy this denigration, and give more support because of it?
Answer: McCain felt he needed to destroy a little girl, and the republican party clapped.
"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?" McCain said at a GOP fund-raiser in Washington. "Because Janet Reno is her father."
McCain apologized to the Clintons.

g'morning, high. here's an article i thought you might want to take a look at. we went through this with malathion and the apple maggot years ago with some communities declaring themselves as 'spray free zones'. also, individuals would put 'no spray' signs at the road along side their property. anyway, good luck!
The full report is available on the ISIS website. Northern California is in the grip of a horrific aerial spray programme designed to eradicate an insect pest, Epiphyas postvittana, the light brown apple moth. The residents living in or near the spray deserve the full story of the pesticide spray mixture.
ISIS Press Release 16/05/08
Sex Hormones and City Life
Is it safe to douse cities with synthetic pheromones? Prof. Joe Cummins
and Sam Burcher
A fully referenced version of this report is posted on ISIS members’ website. Details here.
http://www.i-sis.org.uk/sexHormonesInCityLife.php
Conclusion:The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDPR) assurances unreliable - synthetic pheromones lack adequate study It appears that the CDPR has not been entirely honest in expressing their opinion of the aerial spray mixture. They seem to have neglected the well documented toxicity of some spray additives. This has resulted in the reluctance to fully evaluate the impact of the aerial spray on a
very large population exposed to the spray. The evidence on the toxicity of the spray additives was clear while the toxicity of the synthetic pheromones is not yet thoroughly studied. There is a growing body of evidence indicating that the synthetic insect pheromones may also be active in mammals and probably in humans. In the fullness of time, it is likely that the synthetic insect hormones will be seen to have behavioural and cellular impacts on vertebrates and humans. Presently, these impacts have been documented in a few cases, but the field is advancing rapidly. Meanwhile, bureaucrats are using the absence of
evidence as evidence of the absence of harm.

Democrats' Energy Plan: Tax, Sue, and Investigate
By John Cornyn
More than two years ago, now-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues promised what they called a “common sense” energy plan to bring down prices at the gas pump. Since that time, the average cost of a gallon of gas has soared from $2.33 to $3.62, an all-time high.
Today, 744 days later, congressional Democrats finally unveiled their grand proposal to the American people.
To most Americans, addressing rising energy prices might include at least a bow to the law of supply and demand. It might contain some true common sense ideas such as stepped-up exploration, added domestic refinery capacity, or other measures to increase U.S. energy and reduce dependence on foreign supplies.
But Democrats made clear they have other priorities. They want to tax, sue and investigate their way out of this problem.
Unfortunately, their agenda will do nothing significant to increase the supply and reduce the price of gasoline in America.
Hi- just a hit and run in case Venieta hasn't posted this yet.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080516/ap_on_go_co/media_ownership
On the Washington Journal on C-span today, a caller said that the military is deploying for 15 - 18 month lengths and when asked how long she will be deployed she said she didn't know she'd have to see AFTER THE AIR STRIKES IN IRAN HAPPEN IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS!
Think about it, Bush could really be going all over the world cutting deals about this. Fallon, the only reasonable general, standing in the way of this, has been fired. Is it true that the republicans putlaws on the books that say the Pres. can stop the election in a time of war? Remeber on Larry King when Jena said she didn't know who she would be voting for? She married a former aide to Rove, could it be she knows something we don't? What the F could we do about it if it came to this? If we started Impeachment proceedures now, could that stop anything?
Set your TiVo for noon (EDT). I'm sure the cable channels will cover this.
Obama To Respond Forcefully To Bush's Attacks Today
"What you're going to hear is a very vigorous response to what was an outrageous, unprecedented, and divisive attack from President Bush yesterday,"
(Obama foreign policy adviser Susan Rice)
check out Think Progress coverage of mccain's hamas remark.
May he say this on the Wednesday after the November elections.
President Bush accepted the stunning election results in the Palestinian territories yesterday with a conciliatory tone, saying the landslide victory of the militant Islamic group Hamas was rejection of the "status quo" and a repudiation of the "old guard" that had failed to provide honest government and services.
"There's something healthy about a system that does that," Bush said at a news conference.

guess who said
But the Bush administration is not running for anything in 2006 and, as a second-term president, George W. Bush need not succumb to political pressure. That means he should give far more weight to what Hamas does and less to what it says. The Israelis, most notably Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz, say that Hamas has behaved “responsibly” since the election. In fact, Hamas has clamped down on terrorism against Israelis since the Palestinian ceasefire was agreed to last January.

I certainly hope that the mcCainStream Media finally points out the fact that the quote taken from the senator years ago about talking with Hitler was from a REPUBLICAN senator...from the great state of Idaho. He was a well-liked politician here who also was a huge fan of Communism.
Cate
That is some of the greatest news and a big step forward for freedom
"In recent years, we have seen an increase in coarse and violent programming, coupled with a decrease in local news and hard-hitting journalism," Inouye said Thursday night. "To say these trends are not in the best interest of the American people, and especially our youngest citizens, is clearly an understatement."
Obama issued a statement supporting the vote.
"Today the Senate stood up to Washington special interests by voting to reverse the FCC's disappointing media consolidation rules that I have fought against," he said. "Our nation's media market must reflect the diverse voices of our population, and it is essential that the FCC promotes the public interest and diversity in ownership."

Thank you!
In an amazing turn of events, the House of Representatives today voted AGAINST the supplemental funding for the war in Iraq!!
The bill would have provided $166 billion in war funding, the largest single provision since the war started in 2003. In a move that no one expected, dozens of Republicans voted "present," which is the same as abstaining on the vote. This meant that the 149 NO votes were enough to defeat the bill. (141 votes were cast in favor.)
This is a tremendous victory for the antiwar movement. The hard work of people all around the country secured those 149 clear NO votes. Click here for the roll call to see how your representative voted.
But our work is far from over.
The bill now moves to the Senate, where we can expect an attempt to add the war funding back into the bill. After that, the bill will go to a conference committee, then back for a re-vote in both the House and the Senate. That means we need to keep up the pressure on both the House and the Senate.
Here's what you can do:
"House Votes Down War Funding!", 5/15/2008 United for Peace and Justice
Thanks Dems!

__________________________________________
I have been saying since Bush signed his executive order saying he could declare martial law unilaterally, without permission from anyone, and all that entails, to stop all elections and remain the president, because we are at war, even a war CREATED by him.
My questions here are:
1. Where does he think he is going to get enough military? Would our National Guard really follow his orders and turn on the American People?
2. What are the majority of the American people (the 80% that hate Bush and his policys), going to actually DO if this happens?
3. I know the DNC is aware of this possiblity---do you think they are prepared?
Even though I think this was the plan, I now believe that the political "climate" has changed so much, that the neocons won't attempt it.
I think the country and even the media has turned so unexpectantly against them, and transparency has become the name of the game, that they have had to change their plans to pull this off.
the axis of evil has been shown to be the created propoganda of PNAC, and as displayed by bush in Israel, he alone is still living in this bubble.
Is Senator Barack Obama Truly Too Elite To Be Elected President? -- John Dean
In an earlier column, I raised the matter of whether, and how, Senator Barack Obama's conspicuous intelligence may act as a barrier to his being elected president. I am returning to that subject now because it is clear, as the presidential primaries come to a close and the presumptive nominees – Obama for the Democrats, and Senator John McCain for the Republicans – begin their efforts to define each other for the general election, that this is going to be an issue.
As I noted in my prior piece, Republicans have consciously and consistently run presidential campaigns portraying their candidates as smart enough to be president, yet a far cry from the kinds of 쬩beralsnd 쩮tellectual elitistsith whom most Americans would shrink from sharing a few beers. Of course, Republicans simultaneously have labeled their Democratic opponents as just that kind of far-left elitist.
Frankly, I have been waiting for this GOP anti-intellectual strategy to backfire, and for Americans to declare that they have had enough of these efforts to dumb down the presidency. After all, eight years of President George W. Bush's anti-intellectual stance, staggering inarticulateness, and clear pattern of incompetence may well encourage Americans to vote for a chief executive/commander-in-chief with brainpower commensurate with the demands of the job.
For the moment, though, Republicans are busy placing Senator Obama in this liberal, intellectual, elitist mold, and they are succeeding. Americans have not yet fought back forcefully, insisting that they want the kind of intelligent, educated president they deserve.
REpublicans will once again attempt to dumb down the office of President
CNN just reported that Saudi Arabia has told Chimpy to "shove it". They WILL NOT increase oil production just to make him and his doppelganger look good right before the election. No more replay of 2006 at the pump.
Yesterday I went past a gas station at 7ish AM and the price was $4.029. At 2:30PM I went past the same one and it was $4.079. (For regular at the cheap, off brand place, not even a major company).
I guess someone has to call Dr. Evil and ask permission to put the squeeze on Exxon / Mobil.
Which is worse, saying a dismissive sexist statement or in your apology one not recognizing that it is a dismissive sexist statement you call “all kinds of people”(women)?
Barack Obama has personally apologized to a female television reporter for calling her "sweetie", chalking the name up to a "bad habit".
Obama's encounter with Peggy Agar, a reporter at WXYZ network in Detroit, was the second time in two months that he raised eyebrows by calling a woman "sweetie".
The row began when Agar asked the Democratic presidential frontrunner, who is putting the finishing touches on a successful campaign against Hillary Clinton, how he would help American autoworkers.
"Hold on one second there, sweetie," Obama told her, adding that she could ask him the question at a press briefing after his tour of the Chrysler auto plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Agar never got her opportunity. On that night's local news broadcast, she quipped: "This sweetie never did get an answer to the question."
But Obama moved quickly to mend hurt feelings by leaving a voicemail on the reporter's cell phone while she was sleeping after an early morning shift.
"I'm calling to apologize on two fronts. One was, you didn't get your question answered … I broke my word. I apologize for that and I will make up for it," Obama said.
"Second apology is for using the word 'sweetie'," he continued. "That's a bad habit of mine. I do it sometimes with all kinds of people. I mean no disrespect and so I am duly chastened on that front."
How many times are we going to be asked to excuse Barack Obama on things?
How many more ways does Barack Obama have to show us that sure enough it is not ready to be President?
How many more times will we put up with his inexperience that says he just doesn’t get it yet.
When is the American public get wise to this green candidate and make clear to the DNC that Hillary Clinton is the Presidential leadership we need in 2008?

Common traits of a rightwing troll:
- Spending an inordinate amount of time where you're not wanted;
- A slavish, dog-like obedience to authority;
- A willingness to mimic any talking point;
- A willingness to change any opinion you hold at the drop of the President's hat;
- A contempt for those who challenge you on any point.
Other right-wing troll traits include calling those that disagree with you communists, as well as not being able to actually define what a communist is. When asked what a communist is, Toad the Wet Sprocket angrily lashed out "Only a communist would ask a stupid question like that. Commie."
GOP Trolls: the dumbing down of America
Morning Dems,
The US-Saudi deal is souring, or should be. US to defend the Saudi royals from other countries and their own radical extremists, and Saudis to keep oil affordable through its vast reserves and later as its power as head of OPEC.

Shimon Peres sees eco-fuel fighting "terror"
Mon May 5, 2008 7:19pm BST
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli President Shimon Peres on Monday hailed his country's new weapon against the threat of "terrorism" from its Middle East neighbors -- the electric car.
Outlining Israel's development priorities in an address to foreign journalists to mark this week's 60th anniversary of statehood, Peres said reducing global dependence on oil would curb oil-producing states' ability to fund Israel's enemies.
"Oil ... is not only polluting the air, it is also promoting terror," said the 84-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner, who has long promoted Israel's now powerful high-tech industries.
Peres argued that manifold increases in oil prices in recent years had contributed to a rise in financing for terrorism in the Middle East, and said an Israeli project to design a green car run on batteries, as well as plans to develop solar power, would in turn hit oil producing countries' budgets.
"We are not going to fight the producers of oil," he said. "But we are going to introduce alternatives."

CNN) -- John McCain's campaign said Friday that claims by a former State Department official that McCain had advocated unconditional dialogue with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas were misleading.
James P. Rubin said on CNN Friday that McCain had told him during a 2006 interview that the United States would inevitably have to deal with Hamas. Rubin said criticism now of similar statements by Democrats was "the ultimate flip-flop in American politics."
The McCain campaign said Friday that his position had remained consistent: no dialogue with rogue or suspected terrorist nations or parties without pre-conditions.

Electricity: Fuel of the Future
Source: Stanford Daily
[May 08, 2008]
SYNOPSIS: Not only does electricity meet the needs of the transportation sector, it triumphs over both biofuels and gasoline in all relevant metrics.
By Nick Enge
“America is addicted to oil,” admitted President Bush in his 2006 State of the Union address. Petroleum accounts for 40 percent of all energy use in the United States today, and a whopping 96 percent of U.S. transportation energy. Our addiction is a major contributor to our economic problems (the deficit, high product prices), our social problems (terrorism, war) and our environmental problems (resource depletion, climate change). If we want any chance at continued prosperity in the future, we will need to free ourselves from oil.
In order to break our addiction to this admittedly awe-inspiring substance, we will need a swift economy-wide fuel shift toward an energy resource that is domestic, efficient, economic and clean. Despite the hype around biofuels, the only fuel that truly meets these needs is electricity.

I really hope that somebody can get Bush to think for a change.
This country is not in any kind of mood for that idiot to suspend the elections.
There are too many people on both sides of the fence who would love to see him go, feet first if necessary.
Bush cannot depend on the loyalty of the military. They swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States against ALL enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC. Bush has already shown his disrespect for the Constitution. I'd guess all his yes-men would have to circle the White House, against the rest of the military, and the betrayed veterans.
As for the National Guard, there are already state governors who are protesting his misuse of the Guard. They would demand that the Guard return to their home states, I don't see them riding to Bush's rescue.
Then there's the young people, who are already primed for change. There would be riots in the streets like you wouldn't believe, and I'd bet the cops would be on their side this time.
It would be like a big spring uncoiling, who knows where it would fly.
My Mom's parents came to the US to escape the Mexican Revolutionaries in 1914. I don't really want to have to move back there to escape a revolution here.
I'm not discounting anything, though, because right from the get-go when Bush went into Iraq after being told that it was a stupid idea, Dubya has made really dumb decisions right down the line.
I wouldn't put it past him to do the dumbest thing ever before he leaves (or is dragged out of) office.
Good afternoon, all.

John Boy,
Then we just counter Cornyn by asking why the ERA hasn't been ratified by the Republicans in the last eight years.
That should take care of the working women's vote that the GOP is trying to target this year and make everyone question why Republicans don't want to fix any real problems.
All these GOP incompents do is try to divert attention from their failures to perform the simplest governmenatal tasks by introducing fake issues.
Americans are pissed with these GOP jerks trying to evade responsibility for their actions. They're incompetent cowards who have no answers, so they continually hiding behind Jesus when they screw up.
Jesus isn't going to save them either come November. Christians are tired of Republicans using the Lord as a political pawn. Even evangelicals have moved on to advocating a decidedly Democratic agenda.
And why has this nation ratified the ERA? What's wrong with it? I want some answers from the RNC. Let's not let them backpedal any longer of things like this.

He's probably considering what the families of dead or injured soldiers would think if they saw the commander in chief performing such tasks. By kissing the asses of the oil sheiks he is attempting to show some solidarity with those poor families. Now, since those sheiks merely patted him on the head and sent him to eat at the children's table, lil' Bush will likely continue his showing of solidarity by riding a camel.

BINGO! I've been saying for some time that the first thing out of the new President's mouth during the inaugural speech should be "take that out of mothballs, dust it off and have it on my desk by next Monday. I'll sign it that day."
No need to tinker with it, no need for any "debate". It would have been passed and ratified years ago except Phyllis Schlafly got the Pugs in the IL Senate to doom it. IL was the ONLY Northern State not to approve it, and it only lost by 1 state. Let the Chamber of Commerce howl.
The second and third things should be to bust up the media conglomerates, and take all that friggin' "medicine advertising" off the tube. The networks will howl, but let them howl all they want. They had 30 years of free reign, and now it's time to take the keys away from the irresponsible teenager, so to speak.

Because of the deteriorated condition of our national electric grid, if we are to rapidly shift more toward electricity, generating sources will almost certainly need to be of a more local rather than regional nature. Currently, considering only replacing internal combustion engines in cars, the equivalent of almost 3 times the current national electric production capacity would be required. We need immediate legislation requiring the imposition of conservation measures if we are to have any 'breathing' room to allow for alternative sources to come on line before our current situation becomes a catastrophy. I would hope Congress looks seriously and quickly at such remidies as conservation pricing where 'the more you use, the more you pay', reduced national speed limit with a precentage of fines going to fund alternative energy developement, mandatory 'green zones' within major metropolitan areas, major expansion of public mass transit and national passenger rail systems, and a 'carbon tax'. We can not continue throwing our country and its hard working people into the insatiable stomach of Big Oil.

So then it's true and McCain is backpedalling. Typical for every Republican...even the self-described mavericks.
bbl.
There is NOTHING in the Constitution of the United States which gives the president any right to suspend the elections presidential or legislative.
The Constitution DOES state that the president must swear (or affirm) to }"TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY PRESERVE PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES".
The Constitution also states that the president "SHALL TAKE CARE THAT ALL LAWS SHALL BE FAITHFULLY EXECUTED."
My favorite the president, vice president and all civil officers SHALL be removed from office on impeachment for TREASON, BRIBERY, AND OTHER HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS."
BUT, and it's a biggy here. Section I states with NO uncertainty that "He shall hold office for A TERM OF FOUR YEARS." No ifs ands nor buts. FOUR YEARS!
Amendment XX to the Constitution states quite firmly that "The term of the president and the vice president SHALL END AT NOON ON THE 20TH DAY OF JANUARY ... of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified."
Amendment XXII to the Constitution states "NO PERSON SHALL BE ELECTED TO THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT MORE THAN TWICE...." Again no ifs ands nor buts.
In other words, no matter what powers Bush falsely claims to have or what machinations he tries, at the stroke of noon on the 20th of January 2009, Bush is out of here, and if he tries to stay longer, the Secret Service, the Capitol Police, or for that matter, any citizen of the United States can arrest him and frog march his butt out of the White House and into the nearest hoosegow, and if he tries to resist arrest deal with him accordingly.

As an American Citizen that has been freely and easily back and forth across the Mexican/American border at least 500 times in my life, I have found that the "securing of the border" has not to do with keeping people out of America----it has been about keeping people in.
I can no longer go, without renewing my passport, which I never had to use before, and getting one with a "tracking devise" imbedded in it.
It is the same reason I kept my dinasour analog cell phone as long as I could---it didn't have a tracking devise imbedded in it.
All these laws to protect us?

Also, considering the deteriorated condition of our electrical grid, we need to look at subsidizing the installation of wind/solar generation for homes, farms, and community government, hospitals, and small businesses.
By installing grid tied solar with battery backups, such entities can pay for their solar installations in reduced power bills, and also have emergency power available when the grid crashes.
Electrical power should not be in the hands of the few.
The Rural Electrification Act of the Depression era brought power to farms and small towns that the major power companies snubbed. We have regressed to another era of Big Power, which (Enron being one of the worst cases) leads to abuse in this de-regulated climate. De-regulation has also lead to the deterioration of the grid, since many companies consider maintenance of their assets as a liability and not a means of continuing to profit farther into the future although at a slightly reduced rate.
Enough of this abouse!
Electrical power to the people!
White House Notebook: Bush a bit wary of drinking the water
On a sun-baked tour Thursday of an ancient Israeli fortress overlooking the Dead Sea, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert took a sip of water from a silver cup, then handed it to President Bush.
Bush looked into the cup, then quickly set it down. He wasn't sure he should wet his lips with water from an unknown source.

The ongoing race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination may be causing angst for party leaders, but the competition has been good for the Party label. In fact, the Democrats now have the largest partisan advantage over the Republicans since Rasmussen Reports began tracking this data on a monthly basis nearly six years ago.
During the month of April, 41.4% of Americans considered themselves to be Democrats. Just 31.4% said they were Republicans and 27.2% were not affiliated with either major party.
It must be difficult for republicans to conduct research when they have trouble getting their lard a--es through a series of tubes
FACT: There is no debate among scientists about the basic facts of global warming.
The most respected scientific bodies have stated unequivocally that global warming is occurring, and people are causing it by burning fossil fuels (like coal, oil and natural gas) and cutting down forests. The U.S. National Academy of Sciences, which in 2005 the White House called "the gold standard of objective scientific assessment," issued a joint statement with 10 other National Academies of Science saying "the scientific understanding of climate change is now sufficiently clear to justify nations taking prompt action. It is vital that all nations identify cost-effective steps that they can take now, to contribute to substantial and long-term reduction in net global greenhouse gas emissions." (Joint Statement of Science Academies: Global Response to Climate Change [PDF], 2005)
The only debate in the science community about global warming is about how much and how fast warming will continue as a result of heat-trapping emissions. Scientists have given a clear warning about global warming, and we have more than enough facts — about causes and fixes — to implement solutions right now.
The only issue left up in the air about global warming is whether or not republicans cold dark hearts will measure any change

Barack Obama wasn't alone in largely ignoring West Virginia's Democratic presidential primary. For political analysts, the contest that really resonated Tuesday night was in Mississippi.
There, for the third time this year, a Democrat won a special House election in a district dominated by Republicans. (The other two occurred in Louisiana and Illinois.) And, for the experts, these victories join other factors that should portend a big Democratic triumph this fall.

McCain did, what Bush would not do, set an Iraqi withdrawal date. He had to after his Intelligence gave this 100 year statement of Mission Accomplished.
Kenneth Lay manipulated Enron with false Intelligence, so is Cheney & Co. doing the same with Chevron and His other Big Oil alliances? By propping up the spot market for Iraqi hidden reserves, then letting it implode like an Enron Bomb. Where is all the Iraqi oil going, America is not seeing it? Is this oil under OPEC control? It should not be.
It is like Halliburton tainted water disappearing in Enron Creative Accounting of Halliburton, Blackwater, and Republican Iraq War Contractors. In a fairy tale, it is like they haul in water and haul out oil. Maybe we need to make oil analysis like with DNA markers to see where the oil is coming from. If Congress had it own Intelligence, it could use its power to do its Homework to find out.
Since Al-Queda is supported within Saudi Arabia by Sunnis, and Hizbullah and Hamas by Shiite Iran. Are we taking Iraq from Sunni to Shiite control? That means Saudi Arabia will increase oil prices to fight Shiite control of the area and then Iran will increase the prices to fund Hizbullah and Hamas social satellite states around Sunni Saudi Arabia with America in the middle of its own Bush creation of Mission Accomplished Intelligence.
With Iraq receiving so much more for its Cheney inflated oil on the spot market, then it can take over all its infrastructure with the huge profit, so America can rebuild our own infrastructure that Bush neglected in his Mission Accomplished statements.

LOUISVILLE -- The campaign of Sen. John McCain continued to dismiss staffers this week for violating the campaign's new ethics policy as Democrats ratcheted up pressure on some of McCain's top advisers for their lobbying backgrounds.
McCain dismissed two staffers Thursday after unveiling the new policy, which prohibits staffers from lobbying or representing a foreign agent or participating in a 527 political group. One staffer,
Craig Shirley, was dismissed after Politico reported that he worked for a group called stophernow.com, an attack site created to target Sen. Hillary Clinton that is now aimed at Sen. Barack Obama.
The other aide, Eric Burgeson, left Thursday after it was disclosed that he lobbies the federal government on energy policy, the Miami Herald reported.
McCain's campaign created the policy in the wake of two other forced departures -- regional campaign manager Doug Davenport and Republican convention chief Doug Goodyear -- for representing the military government in Burma.

Iraq Veterans Share First Hand Accounts of Iraq War During Forum on Capitol Hill
May 15, 2008, Washington , DC
Progressive Caucus forum invites veterans to share their experiences with Members of Congress
At a forum this morning organized by the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), ten veterans of the Iraq War provided gripping first person accounts of their time spent serving in combat operations. The veterans, who had served in the National Guard, the Army, and the Marines, shared their experiences on the ground at various stages of the occupation and throughout the country. They testified regarding violence against civilians, the destruction of civilian property, rules of engagement, the inadequate training that they received prior to deploying, and the personal struggles with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that many of the testifiers faced upon their return from combat.
“This morning’s event was an opportunity to hear not from the military’s top brass, but directly from the very soldiers who put their lives on the line to carry out President Bush’s failed policies in Iraq,” said Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), Co-Chair of the CPC.
“These first-hand accounts really highlight some of the tragic costs and horrific consequences of this Administration’s utterly failed policies in Iraq,” said CPC Co-Chair Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA). “We must redouble our efforts to end the occupation and to truly honor our troops by bringing them home.”
The veterans were members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), a non-profit organization created in 2004 to organize and represent the growing number of active duty service members, and veterans, who have turned against the occupation of Iraq, but continue to face pressure to remain silent.
One of the morning’s most gripping testimonies came from Kristofer Goldsmith, a former Army Sergeant from Long Island, New York, who spoke about his own psychological struggles following a stop-loss order that kept him from returning home after serving in Iraq.
“As we were preparing to leave Iraq, we were given a mental screening test, which was supposed to identify possible mental ailments,” Goldsmith said in his written statement. “But we were warned by the medical staff issuing the test that ‘should you come up positive for mental problems, you could be forced to stay in [Iraq] for three to four more months before you can go home.’ Most lied while completing the test because they wanted to get home as soon as possible. No one was held in Iraq any longer due to this test, but in hindsight, it is clear that verbal warning was used to prevent the inconvenience to the Army of having Soldiers that needed medical attention.”
The psychological struggles of returning veterans was a consistent theme that emerged throughout the morning, and other testifiers spoke of the strain that PTSD put on their relationships with families and friends.
“The majority of my platoon went through divorces and or separations many of the time with children involved,” said Vincent Emanuele, a Marine machine gunner who served in Iraq near the Syrian border. Emanuele also spoke of the pressure that he faced when dealing with his PTSD, “the idea being that ‘REAL’ Marines do not complain when coming home from combat they suck it up and do the job we are tasked to do,” Emanuele said referring to how he and other veterans were treated like outcasts when they sought help. “This resulted in many of the Marines I served with, including myself turning to alcohol and drugs to cope with the horrors of this bloody occupation.”
The forum was a follow-up to an event that IVAW organized earlier this year at the National Labor College in Silver Spring Maryland. Dubbed ‘Winter Soldiers,’ and modeled on a similar campaign during the Vietnam War, dozens of veterans shared their personal stories, and testified over three days on their own experiences on the ground in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Your testimony this morning should serve as a reminder to every Member of this body that the occupation of Iraq is not something that we can simply discuss and debate in the abstract,” Woolsey told the veterans. “You speak today not just for yourselves, but for countless others who have served in Iraq. You are doing all of us a great honor by sharing your stories and unique perspectives.”

I doubt there is a quick fix to this eternal conflict. I think though we Democrats can get a short term suspension of the killing inside Iraq. Jack Murtha is in the wings and I am sure he can effect a change of strategy to slow the bleeding. Had we listened to Murtha we would have been were we will be next March several years ago.

The bubble continues to burst and there are few choices left. Just wait for the next round of calls to slash interest rates by Wall Street, who don't really care how much inflation there is. When you live in their league, inflation doesn't matter though for the bulk of Americans, it's a budget buster. Wouldn't it be nice if the Federal Reserve actually gave a damn about anyone on Main Street instead of always pleasing Wall Street?

MoveOn's new ad is about one of John McCain's top advisers, who also has advised Ferdinand Marcos, Mbuto in Zaire, and rebel leader Jonas Savimbi. Then again, John McCain's filthy rich wife, whose corporate jet McCain flies on for his campaign, had $2m in investments dealing with the nasty folks in the Sudan. Anyone else seeing a pattern? Watch it, it's good.

When I wrote a post yesterday on veterans, I had no idea that just hours later a story would hit, via VoteVets and CREW, and now getting massive media attention, that a VA hospital's PTSD program coordinator sent an email to other VA employees instructing them to "refrain" from diagnosing vets with PTSD, and instead consider a diagnosis of "adjustment disorder." I was going to write that there's no analysis necessary here, no explanation or hidden meaning, but that's not actually true -- the motivating reason is, I suspect, that veterans diagnosed with PTSD are likely to get better care and more disability pay than those diagnosed with other illnesses. But whatever the "reason" behind it, is just straight up despicable. From VoteVets:
Jon Soltz, an Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets.org, added, "This is an issue I take personally. I know of many people who received a diagnosis of 'Adjustment Disorder,' who strongly felt they had PTSD, many of whom confirmed that suspicion with an independent diagnosis. Many veterans believe that the government just doesn't want to pay out the disability that comes along with a PTSD diagnosis, and this revelation will not allay their concerns. It is crucial that we quickly get to the bottom of this, and ensure that misdiagnosing veterans is not part of some cost-cutting policy."
The continued mistreatment and exploitation of those who serve is appalling. On the flip side, it's to the great credit of organizations like CREW and VoteVets that they're on top of these issues. Hopefully we'll see some improvement in the next administration, but many people can't wait that long. Corrections are necessary now.

Good afternoon, all.
If you trolls want to slime, how about the right Rev. Huckabee?
This freaking idiot was actually making jokes today about somebody shooting at Obama?
AP
Huckabee quips about gun aimed at Obama
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Republican Mike Huckabee responded to an offstage noise during his speech to the National Rifle Association by suggesting it was Barack Obama diving to the floor because someone had aimed a gun at him.
Hearing a loud noise and interrupting his speech, Huckabee said: "That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak and somebody aimed a gun at him and he — he dove for the floor."
There were only a few murmurs in the crowd after the remark.
The Obama campaign had no comment.
There are terrorists in our midst and some of them have the nerve to say they speak for Jesus? And this was going to be your next family-values Republican president? It's a good thing the GOP went with the crazy old fool instead.
This guy needs to sit in a cell at Gitmo and contemplate how he got there.

It would appear that your party's (i.e. GOP)nominee would differ with your opinion. The Speaker was meeting with a foreign government's representative according to Sen. McCain (R-AZ).
And since you Republicans so freely throw around the word Treason, does it not constitute treason that a POTUS would knowingly start a war based on erroneous intelligence. Is it not treasonous to ill-equip the soldiers in said war? Is it not treasonous to knowingly leave our borders practically unguarded? Is it not treasonous to flagrantly defy the security recommendations of the 9/11 commission? I could keep going but, you get the idea.
Y'all Republicans need to be very careful what rhetoric your throwing around this year. We'll be in power next year under President Barack Hussein Obama and rest assured, we, and especially he, won't forget any of it.
Here's what McCain had to say before, in an interview:
RUBIN: Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge?
MCCAIN: They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so...but it's a new reality in the Middle East.
McCain reaches out to liberal websites...
Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign is trying to tap a new audience of potential voters by taking his campaign message straight to liberal and nonpolitical issues-based blogs, which reach millions of readers but don't often delve into conservative politics.

Wow, the Republicans are listening to Liberals, I hope Obama's campaign is looking and keeps Liberals in the Democratic mix of the Democratic Party diversity and equality. Obama needs a three member Liberal team to listen to trends, in fact they need meetings of diverse teams of different views of the faces of America. They can then gather and discuss strategy.
I feel sad that in all I say that most of it people see someone who must be nuts or a poet. It is that America needs change right now. Going out to have a beer and drown my sorrows of another Bush day.

Sixty-four percent of Israelis say the government must hold direct talks with the Hamas government in Gaza toward a cease-fire and the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit. Less than one-third (28 percent) still opposes such talks.
Blue,
Do you know what Rove said to the NRA today?
Chris Matthews mentioned that Huckabee and Rove both had said things he didn't even want to give air time to because they were so out of line. He's talking about Huckabee's comment and not Rove's.

Geez, when even tweety turns on the selfservatives, you know there's trouble. I'd say that tweety could be the proverbial canary in the coal mine.
Let’s return, once again, to McCain’s flourishing flip-flop list, which is now a Top 11 list.
* McCain criticized TV preacher Jerry Falwell as “an agent of intolerance” in 2002, but has since decided to cozy up to the man who said Americans “deserved” the 9/11 attacks. (Indeed, McCain has now hired Falwell’s debate coach.)
* McCain used to oppose Bush’s tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he reversed course in February.
* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of being corrupt, spending “dirty money” to help finance Bush’s presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support.
* McCain supported a major campaign-finance reform measure that bore his name. In June, he abandoned his own legislation.
* McCain used to think that Grover Norquist was a crook and a corrupt shill for dictators. Then McCain got serious about running for president and began to reconcile with Norquist.
* McCain took a firm line in opposition to torture, and then caved to White House demands.
* McCain gave up on his signature policy issue, campaign-finance reform, and won’t back the same provision he sponsored just a couple of years ago.
* McCain was against presidential candidates campaigning at Bob Jones University before he was for it.
* McCain was anti-ethanol. Now he’s pro-ethanol.
* McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.
* And now he’s both for and against overturning Roe v. Wade.

We'll see if a majority of Americans agree with that on 4NOV08. You side of the aisle already knows what is going to happen especially in light of those three special election the GOP lost in heavy GOP districts this year. And do you know what the best thing about it is? There is nothing you can do to stop it.
Obama said McCain wants to "double down" on Bush's "failed policies," and that the senator "still hasn't spelled out one substantial way in which he would be different from George Bush when it comes to foreign policy."
"If George Bush and John McCain want to have a debate about protecting the United States of America, that is a debate that I'm happy to have any time, any place, and that is a debate I will win because George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for," he said.
McCain responded to Obama's claims at a meeting of the National Rifle Association in Louisville, Kentucky, Friday.
"I have some news for Sen. Obama. ... Unconditional meetings with a man who calls Israel a 'stinking corpse' ... will not convince Iran to give up its nuclear program. It is reckless ... to suggest that unconditional meetings will advance our interests."
McBush strokes out over Obama remarks
I, for one, can completely understand why McCain doesn't want to talk with the leaders of these leaders---it's not necessary. He can just turn to his advisor Charlie Black who works for them.
McCain hires the lobbyists of terrorist organizations
WATERTOWN, S.D. — Barack Obama rebuked Republican rival John McCain and President Bush for "dishonest, divisive" attacks in hinting that the Democratic presidential candidate would appease terrorists, staunchly defending his national security credentials for the general election campaign.
Obama responded Friday to Bush's speech Thursday to the Israeli Knesset. The president referred to the leader of Iran, who has called for the destruction of the U.S. ally, and then said some seem to believe that we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals _ comments Obama and Democrats said were directed at them. McCain subsequently said Obama must explain why he wants to talk with rogue leaders.
"I'm a strong believer in civility and I'm a strong believer in a bipartisan foreign policy, but that cause is not served with dishonest, divisive attacks of the sort that we've seen out of George Bush and John McCain over the last couple days, " Obama told about 2,000 voters at a town hall-style meeting in a livestock barn.
Obama said McCain had a "naive and irresponsible belief that tough talk from Washington will somehow cause Iran to give up its nuclear program and support for terrorism."
During his swing through South Dakota, the Democratic front-runner said he had intended to focus on rural issues, but felt compelled to respond to the criticism from Bush and McCain.
"They aren't telling you the truth. They are trying to fool you and scare you because they can't win a foreign policy debate on the merits," said Obama. "But it's not going to work. Not this time, not this year."
Bush did not mention Obama by name in his speech, but Obama and other Democrats said the implication was clear.
"That's exactly the kind of appalling attack that's divided our country and that alienates us from the world," Obama said. He vowed to turn the foreign policy debate back against both Bush and McCain, rejecting the notion that Democrats critical of the war in Iraq are vulnerable to charges of being soft on terrorism.
"If they want a debate about protecting the United States of America, that's a debate I'm ready to win because George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for," Obama said. He blamed Bush's policies for enhancing the strength of terrorist groups such as Hamas and "the fact that al-Qaida's leadership is stronger than ever because we took our eye off the ball in Afghanistan," among other failings.
The Illinois senator also said that he has state "over and over again that I will not negotiate with terrorists like Hamas."
Other Democrats accused McCain of hypocrisy Friday, saying the certain GOP presidential nominee had previously been willing to negotiate with the militant Palestian group Hamas.
In Charleston, W.Va., speaking before Obama's speech, McCain told reporters: "I made it very clear, at that time, before and after, that we will not negotiate with terrorist organizations, that Hamas would have to abandon their terrorism, their advocacy to the extermination of the state of Israel, and be willing to negotiate in a way that recognizes the right of the state of Israel and abandons their terrorist position and advocacy."
McCain contended that Obama wants to "sit down and negotiate with a government exporting most lethal devices used against soldiers. He wants to sit down face-to-face with a government that is very clear about developing nuclear weapons. ... They are sponsors of terrorist organizations. That's a huge difference in my opinion. And I'll let the American people decide whether that's a significant difference or not. I believe it is."
In an op-ed published Friday in The Washington Post, former Clinton State Department official James Rubin said that McCain, responding to a question in a television interview two years ago about whether U.S. diplomats should be working with the Hamas government in Gaza, said:
"They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy toward Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so ... But it's a new reality in the Middle East. I think the lesson is people want security and a decent life and decent future, that they want democracy. Fatah was not giving them that."
Rubin, who interviewed McCain for the British network Sky News, said McCain is "guilty of hypocrisy" and accused him of "smearing" Obama.

Two years ago, in an interview with James Rubin for Sky News, Sen. John McCain expressed a willingness to negotiate with the terrorist group Hamas -- the very group that McCain has been relentlessly using to smear Sen. Barack Obama over the last several weeks.
Rubin has written an op-ed in Friday's Washington Post about his exchange with McCain, and The Huffington Post has obtained exclusive video. Here's the key excerpt:
RUBIN: "Do you think that American diplomats should be operating the way they have in the past, working with the Palestinian government if Hamas is now in charge?"
McCAIN: "They're the government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them, one way or another, and I understand why this administration and previous administrations had such antipathy towards Hamas because of their dedication to violence and the things that they not only espouse but practice, so . . . but it's a new reality in the Middle East. McCain's Campaign Led by Tainted Lobbyists Hotlist

John McCain talks straight, but he acts crooked. Mr. Reform strays from the straight path by following crooked lobbyists for their money, money that comes from corporations and brutal foreign governments.
McCain's been embarrassed several times the last few weeks by lobbyists connected to his campaign. Last week he was forced to fire two lobbyists who had worked for the brutal military junta in Burma/Myanmar, the oppressive goons who are killing people through their refusal to let aid workers in to the country and help the millions of Burmese affected by the cyclone. This morning we learned about a lobbyist working for McCain who also worked for the governments of Serbia and Qatar.
McCain also had to dismiss one of his top operatives in Virginia, Craig Shirley. Shirley's has long been involved in shady dealings on behalf of the GOP, including hyping the orchestrated "rescue" of US soldier Jessica Lynch from a hospital in Iraq, and the scurrilous Willie Horton ad used against Michael Dukakis in 1988. Shirley was simultaneously an official with McCain's campaign and involved in an independent campaign against Democrats. The McCain campaign is spinning his dismissal as a matter of principle, when in fact Shirley was breaking the law by being on both sides of what should be a divide, the candidate campaign, and an independent operation that is legally prohibited from coordinating its activities with the campaign.
Most of these lobbyists are mid-level operatives who are primarily relied on to collect checks. But in a campaign jammed full of lobbyists, one lobbyist stands above all others: longtime McCain advisor Charlie Black. Charlie Black's mitts haven't only been all over grubby money from corporate special interests. As MoveOn shows, one of John McCain's top supporters has taken blood money:

Obama Responds Masterfully (Updated, with video) Hotlist

Just a moment ago, in response to George W. Bush's and John McCain's attack on Obama as "appeasing" Iran and terrorist organizations, Obama said, "If George Bush and John McCain want to have a debate about protecting the United States of America, that is a debate I am happy to have any time, any place, and that is a debate that I will win, because George Bush and John McCain have a lot to answer for."
* DCLaw's diary :: ::
*
Obama pointed out that we're in our sixth year of war in Iraq, no WMD have ever been found, we were told the war would last only a few months and cost a tiny fraction of what it has actually cost, and the occupation has not made us safer. He added that Osama bin Laden is still at large, and Al Qaeda is stronger than ever because "we took our eye off the ball in Afghanistan." He then noted that Iran - the country Bush and McCain accuse Obama of appeasing - has been the greatest beneficiary of their bumbling foreign policy and course in Iraq, and that both Iran and Hamas are stronger because of these policies.
Let me say this in no uncertain terms, Obama is playing this perfectly and admirably, and let's hope this is how he intends to campaign throughout the general election. He is not running and hiding from accusations of appeasement - he is confronting them directly and fearlessly, and using the attacks as an opportunity to return fire from a stronger moral and policy position, putting the spotlight right back on the right-wing policies that Americans have come to loathe and associate with Bush and McCain.
Obama is turning this snarling, canine, lizard-brain attack by the right wing into an opportunity to seize the news cycle, put out strong and lengthy clips of his unbowed responses, and refocus scrutiny on the glaring hypocrisy and failures of the Republican Party for the last several years. If Obama keeps this up, and the Republicans keep their behavior up, McCain doesn't stand a chance in November.
UPDATE:
Will the Republicans realize that, for the first time in a long time, their standard approach to these kinds of issues is failing and backfiring?
And, if they do, how will they handle this new, painful truth? We can expect to see a great deal of confusion and disarray as they try to come to terms with the massive backlash hitting them on their own talking points.

McCain Unit Rolled out;
Funeral Bombing Toll Rises to 25;
Baghdad Governor's Convoy Blown Up;
VOA reports that on May 15, 'Clashes in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad's Sadr City district have left at least seven people dead, despite a deal aimed at ending the bloodshed. Iraqi officials said Thursday the fighting between Iraqi security forces and Shi'ite militants loyal to radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr broke out overnight and in the early morning. Hospital officials say 19 people were wounded, including women and children.'
Remember how Tom Friedman and Bush administration spokesmen kept saying that "the next six months" would be crucial for Iraq? They said it in 2003, 2004, 2005, etc., etc. Atrios finally called them on it, terming it the "Friedman unit".
Now we have the new, improved, "McCain unit"-- which is apparently that the next four years will be crucial in Iraq. Indeed, McCain predicted "victory" by 2013, four years after he hopes to take office as the new president. Of course if victory does not come by 2013, then the next McCain unit would kick in, with the years leading up to 2017 being "crucial" for Iraq.
William Lind explains why McCain's fantasy of victory is highly unlikely to be fulfilled. Lind calls Iraq a 'fourth generation war' in which there is no real state capacity on which the US can build, and in which the enemy is shadowy and slips away before conventional forces (as in Basra, where rightwing commentators have mistaken the Mahdi Army's ability to melt away and lie low as a victory for the [non-existent] state). The US really only controls the ground on which its soldiers tread, and that reality may well not change during the next 4 years. If Lind is right, McCain is hanging US policy on a set of ideas out of the 1940s that have no application in Iraq today.
The "McCain unit" is already a public relations bust. It sounds like a timetable to Democrats. It is too far off for most people to take seriously. The beauty of the Friedman unit was that it seemed relatively near, but people could be depended to forget about its last use before it was invoked again. The "McCain unit" will tax the public's patience too much, not to mention their pocket books. His unit probably has a $1 trillion tax bill attached to it all at once. And his unit is too specific, calling for "victory." The Friedman unit was deliberately vague about what exactly would happen in the next six months that was "crucial" for Iraq.
"Three employees of the Iranian embassy and their Iraqi driver were shot and wounded as they traveled Thursday to the Shiite Kadhemiyah Shrine in northern Baghdad."
Al-Hayat reports in Arabic that the Mosul power elite is increasingly disturbed by the central government's military campaign in that city. They say that they would be willing to keep on the sidelines if the al-Maliki government just went after "al-Qaeda" (the Salafi Jihadis) in the city. But they say that the al-Maliki forces have arrested dozens of ex-members of the Baath Party, as well as former military officers. They say that if this campaign against the Mosul elite continues, they will be forced to act. The al-Maliki government had given them undertakings that it would only target "al-Qaeda", but in fact it has arrested over 900 persons, many of them ex-Baathists.
The US is cutting off relations with Iraqi politician and notorious embezzler and liar Ahmad Chalabi for the fourth time. This time the issue is said to be his deteriorating relations with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and his closeness to Brig. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, head of the Jerusalem (Quds) Brigades of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. Actually my suspicion is that Chalabi is supporting the Mahdi Army of Muqtada al-Sadr and that is the real reason for the tension with him. Sadr wants the US out on a short timetable and opposes the passage of an oil law that the Bush administration desperately wants.

Just off the House floor today, the Crypt overheard House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers tell two other people: "We're closing in on Rove. Someone's got to kick his ass."

I've never done any favors for anybody — lobbyist or special interest group — that's a clear, 24-year record. - John McCain
That clear, 24-year record keeps getting muddier:
Presumptive Republican presidential candidate John McCain secured millions in federal funds for a land acquisition program that provided a windfall for an Arizona developer whose executives were major campaign donors, according to a USA Today report.
McCain, an Arizona senator, inserted $14.3 million in a 2003 defense bill to buy land around Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona, in a provision sought by SunCor Development, the largest of 50 landowners near the base, the newspaper reported on its Web site Thursday, citing public records.
Upset with a state law that restricted development around the base, SunCor representatives met with McCain's staff to lobby for funding, USA Today reported, citing the company's president at the time, John Ogden.
The Air Force later paid SunCor $3 million for 122 acres near the base -- three times its assessed value and twice the military's estimated value, the newspaper said.
Of course this isn't the first time John McCain has helped provide a windfall for SunCor Development, a company headed by Steven Betts, who also happens to be a Trailblazer for McCain's presidential campaign.

ATTENTION!!
MESSAGE FROM *YOUR* REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE:
ATTENTION AMERICAN VOTERS: YOU ARE ALL DUMB LEMMINGS....SO LINE-UP AND VOTE *AS YOU ARE TOLD*!
BUT FIRST BE SURE YOU INHALE DEEPLY FROM THE CLOUD OF BLUE SMOKE OUR PARTY IS SENDING YOUR WAY SO THAT YOU WILL LOSE YOUR HISTORICAL MEMORY, YOUR COMMON SENSE JUDGMENT AND YOUR NAGGING DOUBTS BROUGHT ON BY OUR PARTY'S BUSHIT STINK.
As a one time Republican activist-- just like Senator Jim Webb of Virginia and others-- I am left in total mind boggling amazement at what manure my Grand Old Party of the "Big Tent" has turned into under Bush and Rove.
To be honest, I really should not blame Bush. He has a problem that causes him to be the "UNdecider" as so well documented by neocon Doug Feith in his new book, attributing our defeat in Iraq to Bush's inability to make a decision because of his life-long fear of responsibility.
That's why the neocons thought that Bush would be "only a one-term putz just like his father," so that Rumsfeld, after usurping command of the military from the Commander-and-Chief, the President, to start an UNAUTHORIZED war in Iraq--thus presenting Bush with a fait accompli, despite Bush's turning down Rumsfeld's entreaties to go to war, insisting on waiting until Afghanistan and the hunt for binLaden is finished-- so that he, Rumsfeld, could replace Bush as the Republican candidate in 2004 after having won a quick and decisive war on the cheap.
At least, we got to see what a psycho-fool is Rumsfeld and what a slime is his dog Cheney. And so, now that they totally failed and wasted American lives and treasure as never before, now that they showed every twig of the federal bureaucracy to be occupied with utterly incompetent loyalists, the Republican Party wants to drug Americans into amnesia before they trot out their next Presidential candidate. So the poisoned gas blown in your faces-- from guess what end of Roviite RNC publicists-- is based on the idea that, like Bush, you THINK WITH YOUR GUT and will vote in the same foul smelling gaseous way as they poison you, in fear of Arabs, in weariness of blacks and in hate of gay weddings.
Now that Obama is clearly the Democratic Candidate we can begin to see, not only the straight and greatness of the Democrats-- HILLARY INCLUDED OF COURSE, DESPITE BILL-- and the absurdity of the Republican opposition. To predict what kind of performance we will see out of McCain soon, you've gotta know what McCain was like when younger and at his peak: HE WAS WORSE THAN BUSH at the same time and so Bush beat him at his own game!!
I don't want to touch McCain's military record, both as officer in training and as officer in action, because we are not electing an admiral or a general to lead us in combat but a civilian Commander-in-Chief. We should therefore only look at his career as a politician, the only other thing he did since his return from Vietnam. I hope that the POWs who bunked with McCain at the Hanoi Hilton will refrain from creating further scandal over that issue because debating the Vietnam War again would put us where the "Swifies" put us back in 2004: hitting at John Kerry's Vietnam war record, thus eclipsing Bush's record of Vietnam war-evasion through Poppy's pull (strangely "missing" from the Pentagon files) and clouding once more the campaign air so that no one could find out in 2004 that the "UN-decider" Bush had NO Iraq policy and was floundering under the insanity of Rumsfeld, the stupidity of the Pentagon and the mendacity of Cheney and the neocons.
To drug the air with amnesia drugs, Rove put on the forefront of the voters' minds the idea of gay marriage. Helping Rove, the corporate media masters kept showing footage of bald headed middle-aged bearded gay men in pastel colored tuxes or fat lesbians kissing in very "wet" kisses at their "weddings." That kind of stuff television never dared to broadcast even at night hours in fear of offending someone. Yet, with the Massachusetts Supreme Court decision to permit such marriages, the dinner-hour news broadcasts were monopolized by gays kissing at their weddings to outrage you. In the meantime, coordinating with the "news," the Republicans ran several state ballot initiatives to forbid gay marriage. It was all smoke, smoke out of Rove's you know where. But between Republican not-so-subtle warning on **"NEWS"*** broadcasts, not RNC on ads, that Kerry means defeat in Iraq and anal weddings in your neighborhoods, the fact that Bush is a mental incompetent and many with at least half a brain in his party were amoral war profiteering crooks, was totally eclipsed.
SO, THANKS TO THE MEDIA, IT WAS *MISSION ACCOMPLISHED* DOMESTICALLY, THOUGH IT WAS *MISSION FAILED* ABROAD!
NOW, DESPERATE, AFTER LOSING SEATS USUALLY "RESERVED" FOR THE PARTY'S GOOD-OLD "SOUTHERN STRATEGY" BOYS, THE REPUBLICANS SEEM TO BE PREPARING A NEW VERSION OF THE OLD SCIFI MOVIE ABOUT GIANT [BLACK] WOMAN WHO VENGEFULLY ATTACKS YOUR TOWN. A SMALL GRAMMATICAL ERROR IN SPEECH BY MICHELLE OBAMA IS NOW THE BLUE SMOKE THE REPUBLICAN PUBLICISTS ARE BLOWING AT YOU. TRYING TO EMPHASIZE HOW PROUD SHE IS THAT ***FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER*** AN INCREDIBLY LARGE NUMBER OF AMERICAN YOUTHS DID THEIR DUTY AND VOTED ON-- BOTH SIDES-- BUT VOTED FOR CANDIDATE, NOT HIS COLOR. THE REPUBLICANS ARE *RE-PACKAGING* THAT TO SAY THAT ONLY NOW THAT HER BLACK HUSBAND HAS A SHOT AT THE TOP CAN SHE FEEL PROUD OF AMERICA.
Personally, I think, Bill Clinton gave them license and precedent to do all this racial crap against the Obamas. But Bill was playing a filthy race card to shift attention to his wife's POSITIVE qualities while the Republicans are doing it to blind voters to McCain's NEGATIVE qualities.
As a Republican in 2000, I looked at Bush and McCain and found McCain so bad that Bush seemed like gold in comparison. So I contacted Rove and offered my support. Now-- despite Bush's utter lack of any redeeming qualities-- I STILL FIND BUSH THE BETTER OF THE TWO....That only shows how unserious I think McCain to be, going way back to the turn of the century!
SO LISTEN UP, YOU ***LAZY*** DEMOCRATS-- AND I MEAN LAZY BECAUSE YOU ARE NEVER THERE DOING GRASS-ROOTS WORK IN THE QUIET PRE-CAMPAIGN FEVER PERIODS, WHEN IT REALLY COUNTS. In one sense, Hillary's campaign was a grand gift to the Democratic Party because it got people working and working hard all through the PRIMARIES period, all the way until now when we come to the grand election campaigning period. Whether you campaigned for Hillary, for Obama or for Edwards, you are all STILL hyper-metabolic athletes from the primaries campaigns. If you now can get together and act as a national GAS-MASK against the RNC's weapon of mass deception: anti-memory gas and the new California Supreme Court judgment that again is flooding our TV news programs with gays kissing at their weddings-- for the same reasons as in 2004, in service of McCain instead of Bush, by the same corporate giants owning your news broadcasts that poisoned your minds with putrid prejudicial images in 2004.
ARE YOU, ONCE AGAIN, GOING TO ALLOW THE POISONED GAS OF THE 2004 CAMPAIGN TO KILL AMERICA'S MINDS WITH PREJUDICE OR ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP UP YOUR PRIMARIES MOMENTUM TO BLOW AWAY THE GAS AND EXPOSE MCCAIN'S PERVERSION OF HISTORY WITH HIS CONCEPT OF STRAIGHT TRUTH EXPRESS.
TO THE MIND OF TEXAS "COWGIRL" GW BUSH, AMERICAN VOTERS ARE DUMB STEERS AND, HIMSELF HAVING NOTHING MORE TO LOSE, HIS SELF-ASSIGNED TASK IS TO STAMPEDE THEM INTO MCCAIN'S ARIZONA CORAL. BUT NOW THAT HILLARY IS SEEKING AN HONORABLE WAY OUT, I RECOMMEND THAT SHE USES THE POWERS AT HER COMMAND STANDING BEFORE THE STAMPEDING CATTLE AND STERNLY SHOUT: STOP...TAKE A BREATH....THINK...THEN GO VOTE!
In the meantime, let the rest of us be there, at the ear of our neighbors, to point out that there's a cloud of "blue gas of historical forgetting" coming at us, consisting of messages to the prejudice-demon in each of our minds. And, if they only hold their breath and judgment for a second, the cloud will blow by and they will see that both the Emperor (GW Bush) and the Dauphin (John McCain) HAVE NO CLOTHES ON-- they are stark naked, devoid of ideas and principles!

Evening Dems !
Hi bob, I would not spend much time with elroy Burd, as he is the guy who is the ex-patriot and left the USA to live with his wife and adopted kids in Germany! He is of no consequence, and should really pay attention to German government, instead of our's! ( You can take the man out of the Redneck area, but you can never take the redneck out of the man)
So McCain finds the ONLY way to go after Obama is to try and make him look weak, because he understands that this cowboy tough act has cost us over 4000 dead boys, another 40,000 lost limbs, and McCain wants more of the SAME for a LIE!!! Well, Mother Teresa once said "I am not Anti-War, I am Pro Peace", so let's ask old man McCain What he has against Peace !!! Something to do with his ED , I'll betcha !
anyways, I have had a hectic day, and still miles to go, so will blog ya all tomorrow.
Ignore the trash. They will be flushed soon..........
I can't even swallow, let alone make a comment about this
If it has been posted already, I am sorry

Huckabee quips about gun aimed at Obama
By BRETT BARROUQUERE – 1 hour ago
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Republican Mike Huckabee responded to an offstage noise during his speech to the National Rifle Association by suggesting it was Barack Obama diving to the floor because someone had aimed a gun at him.
Huckabee, who sought the GOP presidential nomination, won the leadoff Iowa caucuses and seven other states. But he dropped out after Sen. John McCain, the likely nominee, piled up a series of big victories. An ordained Baptist minister, Huckabee attracted strong support among religious conservatives.
He and former GOP candidate Mitt Romney addressed the NRA convention Friday as did McCain.
Huckabee's comments came during a nearly 20-minute speech in which he suggested gun education should start early. He also criticized the Democratic presidential candidates, saying neither Obama nor rival Hillary Rodham Clinton would fight to defend an individual's right to own a gun.
Evening all good Dems,
Some religious freak Asshole repuke neocon congressasshole from florida had the unmitigated gall to criticize California on the gay marriage situation. The judges in California were elected judges not appointed judges like this loser was bitching about.
F**K him. It is none of his f**king business. This is the Asshole from florida who committed election fraud in order to get chimp appointed "preident". He actually fixed the election in florida and of course has never been brought to trial.
The POS should be in jail not in Congress. His name is feeney.

high,
Well, at least our candidates aren't making jokes about pointing guns at presidential candidates and putting Secret Service agents at risk.
If this was part of Huckabee's gun education as a child, I think the NRA has a big problem on its hands. Maybe I'll send them a donation so they can give him a refresher course.
If anyone made such a joke at an airport security check, you'd be in jail pending trial.
What a jerk and so typical of the GOP frat boys.
The Democrats who won in MS and La were not liberal ass hats of your ilk. They were conservative Dems of the kind you love to hate. They are Heath Schuler Democrats.

I happen to love them. And when we obtain the majority we need, (blue dogs are better than bush boot lickers) and have a liberal President in the WH, life will be good.
and you & yours will gnash your teeth.

I bet after the tongue lashing barack gave bush and McCain (and rove, it was probably his idea to say this in Isreal no doubt) they probably wished that would happen to him. He really got to them, Ha.
Did you hear Huckabee say in the repuke's primaries, when he was supposedly hunting, he looked down at some dead birds lined up and said, "that is what will/could happen to you if you don't vote for me" right then I sat up straight. Always listen to what people say when they are supposedly joking - it is always the truth. Very scarey religious fake! People like Huck are some of the meanist people you could ever meet.
