Wanted: Pearls for Chuck Todd to clutch
by Kagro X
Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 03:09:54 PM PDT

I dunno. Take a look at this video of Chuck Todd analyzing a MoveOn.org ad hitting McCain on his 100 year war, and tell me if you think Todd's just got the vapors.

For those of you who can't watch the video for some reason, the gist is this: The MoveOn ad features a mom and her baby, and she asks:

John McCain, when you say you would stay in Iraq for a hundred years, were you counting on Alex? Because if you were... you can't have him.

Hey, fair point. You don't think American moms think about this?

Well, they do.

But Joe Scarborough thinks this ad represents a partisan effort to "get down into the mud."

News flash, Joe: Just because a punch in the face hurts doesn't mean it was dirty. When John McCain said he'd commit troops to 100 years in Iraq, he was asking Mom to give him her best shot. She decked him, and you're practically in tears over it. Boo hoo. Toughen up, dude. Moms don't want their kids deployed in wars. It's just true.

Chuck Todd feels all squirmy in his chair about it, too:

I think it was a borderline shameless ad. Using a baby like that.

News flash, Chuck: All troops start as babies. Every one that gets sent belongs to someone. You don't like it? Take it up with the management.

This campaign won't have any shortage of shamelessness, borderline or otherwise. Here's hoping you two will drop your pearls for long enough to get concerned over... oh, I don't know... 100 years in Iraq, rather than the "use" of a baby.

Frankly, I don't think there are too many people out there who think Bush/Cheney/McCain's "use" for their babies is any less shameless.
=================================================

Screw the MSM. No matter what they will always attack the Dems and either praise the Pugs or give them a pass.

Screw you Chuck Todd. This ad tells the truth and puts McCrap's 100 year war insanity into perspective. It won't backfire but it sure is riling up the Pug Uglies.

DNC to sue McCain over matching funds Hotlist
by kos
Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 02:39:51 PM PDT

Good.

The DNC will today announce that they intend to file a lawsuit next week in U.S. District Court to spur an FEC inquiry over whether John McCain illegally withdrew from the federal financing system.

The committee first issued a complaint to the FEC in February, but In April a federal judge ruled that, even though the FEC lacked a quorom, they still could convene before the end of the 120 days they're given to examine complaints.

Now, with those 120 days expiring on June 24th, the DNC is acting again in hopes a judge will compel the FEC to act on their complaint, as is allowed by law.

At issue is whether McCain locked himself into spending limits in the primary by putting up anticipated matching funds as collateral for the loan that helped keep his underfunded campaign alive at the end of 2007.

The FEC still doesn't have a quorum, but that's expected to be remedied in the next couple of weeks. Adam B has written about this extensively, but in short -- McCain opted in to the matching fund system for the primary when his campaign was on life support. He used that status to secure a campaign loan and get ballot access in several states. The law is clear -- McCain cannot opt out after he has derived a benefit from opting in. McCain didn't give a damn and opted out anyway. The DNC cried foul. But since the FEC has locked quorum, it has been unable to rule on the DNC's complaint.

Update: Obama Responds to McCain Campaign Charge that he has "A September 10th Mindset" Hotlist
by TomP [Subscribe]
Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 08:24:11 AM PDT

Yesterday, Barack Obama stood up for our Constitution.

Today, the demogogue running as the prospective Republican nominee struck back:

"Once again, we have seen that Senator Obama is a perfect manifestation of a September 10th mindset," McCain foreign policy adviser Randy Scheunemann said.

* TomP's diary :: ::

In an interview yesterday, Barack Obama talked about how we can combat terrorists without trashing our Constitution:

Well, but the fact that they disagree does not mean that they're right on this. What it means is, is that they have been willing to skirt basic protections that are in our Constitution, that our founders put in place.

And it is my firm belief that we can track terrorists, we can crack down on threats against the United States, but we can do so within the constraints of our Constitution. And there has been no evidence on their part that we can't.

And, you know, let's take the example of Guantanamo. What we know is that, in previous terrorist attacks -- for example, the first attack against the World Trade Center, we were able to arrest those responsible, put them on trial. They are currently in U.S. prisons, incapacitated.

And the fact that the administration has not tried to do that has created a situation where not only have we never actually put many of these folks on trial, but we have destroyed our credibility when it comes to rule of law all around the world, and given a huge boost to terrorist recruitment in countries that say, "Look, this is how the United States treats Muslims."

So that, I think, is an example of something that was unnecessary. We could have done the exact same thing, but done it in a way that was consistent with our laws.

Here I go, posting it again.

Where did our Democrats get a lot of advice about voting for the Iraq invasion in 2002?

The march to war by Democratic strategists. Two months after 9/11 they said "New World, New War"

This group had an entire magazine ready just two months after 9/11, speaking of the "new war" and saying Saddam was our enemy.

WASHINGTON — Democrat Barack Obama says he'll take no lectures from Republicans on who will keep America safer. GOP rival John McCain's campaign criticized Obama Tuesday for speaking approvingly of the successful prosecution of terrorists.

A McCain aide said, "Obama is a perfect manifestation of a September 10th mind-set" and does not understand the dangers posed by U.S. adversaries.

Obama told reporters that the Republicans have no "standing to suggest that they've learned a lot of lessons from 9-11."

He said they "helped to engineer the distraction of the war in Iraq at a time when we could have pinned down the people who actually committed 9-11." He said Osama bin Laden is still at large in part because of their failed strategies.

Car bomb kills at least 51 near Baghdad market

By QASSIM ABDUL-ZAHRA, Associated Press Writer 28 minutes ago

BAGHDAD - A car bomb ripped through a busy commercial street in a Shiite area of Baghdad on Tuesday, killing at least 51 people and wounding scores more in the deadliest blast in the capital in more than three months.

Many victims were trapped in their apartments by a raging fire that engulfed at least one building, according to police and Interior Ministry officials, who also said about 75 people were wounded. Stunned survivors stumbled through the rubble-strewn street, which was filled with the smoke from burning vehicles, witnesses said.

The attack shattered the relative calm in the capital since a May 11 cease-fire ended seven weeks of fighting between U.S. and Iraqi forces and Shiite militants in the Sadr City district. Ironically, it came the same day the Iraqi parliament announced plans to move outside the U.S.-protected Green Zone.

Angry survivors blamed the army and police for failing to protect them.

"The blast occurred because there wasn't any security presence by the Iraqi army or police at the scene, not even any checkpoint," said Khalid Hassan, 40, who suffered shrapnel wounds and burns. "People were confused, upset and running in all directions. We are all victims of terrorism and carelessness."

Massachusetts School of Law Organizing Bush War Crimes Trial Hotlist
by markthshark [Subscribe]
Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 06:13:31 AM PDT

"This is not intended to be a mere discussion of violations of law that have occurred," said convener Lawrence Velvel, dean and cofounder of the school. "It is, rather, intended to be a planning conference at which plans will be laid and necessary organizational structures set up, to pursue the guilty as long as necessary and, if need be, to the ends of the Earth."

That doesn't sound like an empty threat, folks. And, it sure beats SWLs. (sternly worded letters)

The conference will be held on September 13-14 on the Andover campus.

"We must try to hold Bush administration leaders accountable in courts of justice," Velvel said. "And we must insist on appropriate punishments, including, if guilt is found, the hangings visited upon top German and Japanese war-criminals in the 1940s."

* markthshark's diary :: ::
*

According to Velvel, past practice has been to allow U.S. officials responsible for war crimes (in Vietnam for instance) immunity from prosecution upon leaving office.

AfterDowningStreet.org ran the story on Monday:

"President Johnson retired to his Texas ranch and his Defense Secretary Robert McNamara was named to head the World Bank; Richard Nixon retired to San Clemente and his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger was allowed to grow richer and richer," Velvel said.

Issues that the conference plans to take on include domestic and international crimes committed by the Bush administration, federal justices and members of the U.S. Congress.

"For Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and John Yoo to spend years in jail or go to the gallows for their crimes would be a powerful lesson to future American leaders," Velvel said.

By Velvel’s estimation, they are all chargeable with war crimes, and can be tried at foreign and domestic tribunals. Legal groups such as the Center for Constitutional Rights, the ACLU, the National Lawyers Guild and others will both attend and participate in the conference.

"I've got great news for you: Our new Iraq ad is the most effective TV ad we've ever created.

Polling shows that after seeing our ad, voters seriously question McCain's Iraq policy. What's especially exciting is that voters found this ad more persuasive than any other ad we've tested.

And it couldn't come at a better time: John McCain is up on the air in a bunch of key states and Obama isn't. There's a big vacuum to fill, and if we can get our ad up, we'll not only counter McCain—we'll convince key voters not to vote for him this fall.

But here's the catch: We've done the math, and to really move the needle in critical swing states, we need to raise at least $250,000 to make sure the ad is run often enough for most voters to see it. Can you chip in ? Click below to watch the ad and contribute:

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/alexad.html?id=12896-3347291-2XEhjfx&t=4

There's even more good news: Our friends at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), a major union whose members endorsed and fought hard for Hillary Clinton, are joining in on the ad. They've pledged to match your $250,000, giving us the resources to really go big with the ad.

This is going to be big news—the ad and the exciting new partnership with AFSCME will show progressive strength and unity, shake Republican confidence, and hopefully encourage Democrats to go to the mat on Iraq this election, too.

Here's more about the impact we can have with this ad:

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research—a premier research and strategic consulting firm that represents clients ranging from the AARP to the Chicago Cubs—found that a "61 percent majority describe the ad as convincing." They also found that 58 percent agree with the ad's message.
Greenberg went on to say, "These are some of the highest numbers we have seen for a political advertisement since we started using these questions in 2004."
The polling showed that after folks saw the ad they were more likely to feel that McCain is a "part of the mess in Washington" and "too eager to go to war."
Even when we showed our ad along with a positive ad from the McCain campaign, voters were still 15 percentage points more likely to describe McCain as "too eager to go to war" and 13 percentage points more likely to describe McCain as "part of the mess in DC."
Strong ads on the issues that voters care about most, combined with smart campaigning on the ground, will help give progressives an edge this fall. We're ready to go big with this ad and run it in key battleground states, but we need your help. Can you chip in?

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
McCain’s Guilty Conscience
Mark Benjamin’s article “What’s on McCain’s Mind?” [6/15/08 TPP] focuses on how McCain’s age, bouts with cancer and experience in Vietnam may have affected his mind. After giving an account of McCain’s stints with cancer, Benjamin devotes most of his attention to how McCain’s imprisonment in North Vietnam may have damaged him psychologically, and he suggests that the serious physical injuries and brutal punishment that McCain endured may have harmed his mind. As an example Benjamin discusses McCain’s “famed outbursts of temper.”

What I find puzzling is that Benjamin seems blissfully unaware that McCain collaborated with the North Vietnamese while he was a POW—a serious violation of the US Military Code of Conduct. Benjamin obviously has not read Ted Rall’s column “Integrity Lite: Puffing Up John McCain” in the 3/1/08 TPP. Rall details McCain’s collaboration. More telling, McCain himself admitted this collaboration in the 5/14/73 issue of US News & World Report. In that article McCain said: “I think it was on the fourth day [after being shot down] that two guards came in. ... One of them pulled back the blanket to show the other guard my injury. I looked at my knee. It was about the size, shape and color of a football. ... When I saw it, I said to the guard, ‘OK, get the officer.’ An officer came in after a few minutes. It was the man that we came to know very well as ‘The Bug.’ He was a psychotic torturer, one of the worst fiends that we had to deal with. I said, ‘O.K., I’ll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.’” And this was not McCain’s only collaboration with the enemy, as Rall notes in his column.

Perhaps, just perhaps, McCain’s collaboration weighs on his mind, and that has a connection to the eruptions of “temper out of all proportion to the provocation” that Robert Timberg, author of John McCain: An American Odyssey, reports about McCain. With regard to the collaboration, Timberg quotes McCain as saying, “It’s something I’ll never get over.” Fortunately for McCain, the mainstream media has passed on his wartime collaboration story, just as it has on many of McCain’s unsavory activities over the years.

To John McCain:

1) To lower oil prices immediately, congress should close loopholes created by legislation you supported in 2000 that permits rampant speculation in the oil markets.

2) Drilling in coastal areas wouldn't bring more oil to global markets for 5 to 10 years.

3) Our untapped oil reserves represent a drop in the proverbial bucket on the global oil market and even were we to tap 100% of our reserves it would do nothing to solve the impending energy crunch. So quit proposing non-solutions to the American peoples' real problems. We're not as stupid as you think.

4) The way to solve our energy problems is through investing in alternative energy as opposed to pandering to the oil companies.

13
Kev on June 17, 2008 at 08:48 PM

To older voters supporting John McCain:

1) I note that under the Bush Administration bankruptcies among senior citizens have skyrocketed. The number one reason for this is due to skyrocketing healthcare costs.

2) Do you know what John McCain plans to do to help you? NOTHING. John McCain plans to sit on his hands just as George W. Bush has done for the past eight years. Barack Obama has a plan to provide you with affordable healthcare coverage. John McCain has opted to utilize the hurricane Katrina approach.

3) I note Social Security is in danger of going extinct. John McCain has once again embraced Bush's approach. He wants to privatize Social Security. He has no concept of a safety net. Barack Obama has proposed to restructure the payroll tax. Barack Obama also proposed to eliminate taxation of senior citizens' income to the extent seniors earn less than $50,000 per year.

14
Kev on June 17, 2008 at 08:56 PM

To independent pro-choice women voters:

1) The current structure of the Supreme Court stands as follows: 5 to 4. Justice Stevens is 88 years old and he is one of the 5. Do you want Roe v. Wade to be overturned? If so, vote for John McCain, he really cares so much about women's rights, he would love nothing more than to overturn Roe v. Wade so that states' laws prohibiting abortion that are on the books will immediately go into effect.

2) He likes women so much, did you see how he referred to his wife to a reporter? I'll give you a hint, he used a four letter word that I don't believe I've ever heard in an R rated movie. I won't put it on the DNC's website, because I believe it would offend even the trolls.

3) McCain likes women so much, he kept the money from a fundraiser, Clayton Williams, who made a joke comparing rape to weather.

4) In addition, McCain likes Hillary Clinton so much, he once made a sexual joke involving Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Janet Reno. Again, I won't repeat that one on the DNC website. If you really want the details, simply google it and you'll find plenty of verified sources. John McCain is no friend of women voters.

15
Kev on June 17, 2008 at 09:05 PM

To ALL voters:

1) If you own or are trying to buy or sell a house, you know we're in a recession. If you drive and have visited a gas station lately, you know, we're in a recession. Because we're in a recession, don't you agree it'd be a good idea to elect someone that knows how the economy works??
I do. Well, John McCain has admitted the economy is NOT his strongsuit and that he doesn't know much about the economy. This alone should disqualify him for the Presidency.

2) Economists who have reviewed John McCain's policies agree with John McCain's statement and have said John McCain knows little to nothing about the economy and his proposals would be disastrous.

3) As such, please don't vote for John McCain. It'd be like hiring a lawyer to fix your plumbing.
You wouldn't do that, so don't hire a guy who knows nothing about the economy to fix a recession.

4) Remember, the way to lower oil prices immediately is to end speculation in the oil markets. We have to close the loopholes that John McCain helped to create in 2000. The way to lower fuel costs permanently is invest in alternative fuel. Our untapped oil reserves are barely a drop in the bucket relative to the global oil market. The way to solve our energy crisis is to invest in a renewable alternative fuel that can be produced domestically and supply ALL of our energy needs. More drilling will do nothing to solve our problems. Plus, it'd take 5-10 years for any new oil to reach the market.

Good evening, all.

Posted by HybridFuel on June 17, 2008 at 05:02 PM

I remember the 1980's.

When you run up debt, interest rates are supposed to go up to compensate. Supply and demand, right?

That's what supposedly happened when Reagun decided to bankrupt us to stop the Soviet military. (Actually, the Afgans stopped the Soviet military with a little help from a U.S funded Bin Lauden.)

Our first mortgage was 14.25, one year adjustable with a 2.5 cap. It was scary signing that bugger. But we thought it was a good deal at the time.

We finally paid off our mortgage a few years ago after re-financing about five times. The banks made a killing from all those closing costs and charges.

These same Republicans were the ones who thought up the savings and loan scam and paved the way for the corporate raiders who have destroyed so many great American companies with junk bonds.

And their children were the ones who thought up outsourcing good-paying jobs, building the infrastructure of India and China, visas for cheap foreign temp labor (There's a shortage we have to do it. Yeah, sure.), importing illegal laborers to break unions, and gave incentives for moving corporate headquarters and assets overseas.

Their coup de gras is the the sub-prime mortgage swindle, derivatives, and especially the Iraqi invasion designed to drive up oil profits, award no-bid contracts to friends, and privatize the Pentagon budget...while getting Bush re-elected as the triumphant, conquering War President and borrowing money from the Communists that they think they will never have to re-pay (Yeah, sure. Ever heard of nationalizing?).

They are now in the process of fleecing seniors with reverse mortgages and students with loans that are a banker's dream.

Yet Rove tricked the Reagan Democrats into thinking they were all family values, compassionate Christians...who tortured and suspended habeus corpus for our own good.

There is a sucker born everyday...hiding from a terrorist that could have been stopped if the FBI, CIA, and Bush White House hadn't ignored urgent warnings from average citizens.

Republicans just don't care about anthing but making money for the rich who will reward them with bribes for their trouble.

History is full of stories like this. Great nations are never destroyed from the outside. The corruption and greed of its highest officials always bring them down from the inside...along with depraved men like Larry Craig, Dick Cheney, Gonzales, Scalia, and Karl Rove.

I don't understand what McBush's strategy is.

Today he stabbed Crisp and Menendez in the back with off shore drilling. Yesterday he gave Bob Barr fresh meat to throw to civil libertarians by supporting Bush on habeus corpus.

His 100 year war threat and frank admission that he doesn't know anything about economics has alienated everyone else...and reminded them why they hate Bush so much. Do continue to tie yourself ever closer to Spunky, Mr. Magoo.

The only ones he seems to want to impress in Joe Lieberman and IAPEC. And even they, and the Israeli government, seem upset with his blatant lack of knowledge of Middle Eastern cultures and religions.

I suppose he can always live on Cindi's beer empire and cookie recipes...if she doesn't trade him in for a newer model like he did his disabled wife #1.

Like Humans, Other Apes Plan Ahead Robin Lloyd Senior Editor LiveScience.com Tue Jun 17

Chimps and orangutans plan for the future just like us.

They are capable of exercising self-control to postpone gratification and to imagine future events via "mental time travel," according to new research from Lunds University Cognitive Science in Sweden.

The skill of future planning was commonly thought to be exclusive to humans, although some studies of apes and crows have challenged this idea, say researchers Mathias and Helena Osvath. Now, for the first time, there is "conclusive evidence of advanced planning capacities in non-human species," they say...

Greetings Dems,

Just a quick post...
Why is Cafferty on The Situation Room asking if Obama should pick HAGEL as his VP? Does anyone know anything about Hagel other than he's not so INSANE as to keep throwing money and troops at Iraq?
Hagel is the last thing America needs as a VP.

Give me Hillary, Edwards, Dodd, or Gore.
As if we really need a Republi-crat ticket. This is not the CHANGE we need. This is the pro-corporate agenda of the past. I think it would make many young voters jump ship from the two party system. Leave it to coprorate-controlled and owned media to come up with an idea like this... and push it off on people in a news program.

Gotta run. Oh...

It sounds bad in Iowa. I hope they get some help. I wonder what the area National Gaurd is doing?

The Nat'l Guard is humping sand bags, patrolling levees, and basically doing a heck of a lot more that I can find out about FEMA doing from going through the media. One of the units working in Des Moines was in Iraq this time last year.
The crest of the flood is supposed to pass through the Tri-state area (Iowa, Missouri, & Illinois) tonight. They've already lost some levees.
Go to http://www.khqa.com/ Click on Flood Report, for a good view of what's going on there.
For news about what's going on in Iowa try
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage or
http://www.whotv.com/ Scroll down to their videos.
BTW WHO-TV has a piece about the Red Cross running out of money. Their contributions had fallen behind because people haven't had a lot of money to contribute, and then they caught between the tornados this spring and now this flood.
I'm going to have to look for a news source farther down the river as the flood crest moves south, headed to NOLA. I grew up watching KHQA-TV, listening to WHO radio, and reading the Des Moines Register. Anyone have any suggestions? St. Louis is next along with Cairo, Memphis and Paducah.

Senior lawyer hits at Guantánamo

By Demetri Sevastopulo in Washington

Published: June 17 2008 21:07 | Last updated: June 18 2008 01:49

The use of harsh interrogation techniques on detainees at Guantánamo Bay was a “mistake of massive proportions” that damaged US national security, the former top navy lawyer said on Tuesday.

Alberto Mora, the former navy general counsel who battled in the Pentagon to bar interrogation techniques such as waterboarding – simulated drowning – described the Bush administration’s interrogation programme as a “policy of cruelty” that “violated our founding values, our constitutional system … and our national security”.
*******

The documents described one internal discussion where John Fredman, a senior CIA lawyer, described waterboarding as a “very effective” technique to determine phobias.

“The lymphatic system will react as if you’re suffocating but your body will not cease to function,” said Mr Fredman.

In later describing US obligations under anti-torture laws, Mr Fredman said: “It is basically subject to perception. If the detainee dies you’re doing it wrong.”

morning Dems. Trolls getting shriller and shriller as the inevitable closes in. Unless they cheat, steal, and lie their way out of it, looks like they will be saying Good Morning President Obama!!Let's remember how they have always told us we are so bad, because we do not show the proper respect to the office of the Presidency and to the CIC ! Better never hear a word out of their dirty little mouths after Obama is the President!!!

Morning Pam and dusty,

The religious wrong is making a big deal about a statement that Obama made several months ago. They asked him if he voted against partial birth abortion and he said he missed the vote in the Senate but that he would have voted no.

The shrillness from these freaks is amazing. They are also criticizing his wife for making similar statements. These people are a menace to society and they call themselves christians.

38
Johne on June 18, 2008 at 07:57 AM

Obama is concerned for the mothers life in many cases but the fake christians don't care about the mother's life just like bush and the death penalty. He claims to be against abortion but doesn't care about human life otherwise.

Baghdad - A car bomb set to explode during the busiest time of day killed at least 51 people and wounded 75 Tuesday evening as shoppers were strolling through a Shiite neighborhood market in Baghdad. It was the deadliest attack in the Iraqi capital in more than three months.

chimp doesn't know what "get the f**k out of our country means" because he is a stupid drunk influenced by the pr**k cheney.

mclame is just like both of them.

We need to do everything we can to make mclame blow his top at these debates. It shouldn't be difficult. If he blows his top, people will see him for what he is, a doddering old fool and a loose cannon.

"We found clear physical and psychological evidence of torture and abuse, often causing lasting suffering," said Dr. Allen Keller, a medical evaluator for the study.

In a 121-page report, the doctors' group said that it uncovered medical evidence of torture, including beatings, electric shock, sleep deprivation, sexual humiliation, sodomy and scores of other abuses.

The report is prefaced by retired U.S. Major Gen. Antonio Taguba, who led the Army's investigation

"There is no longer any doubt that the current administration committed war crimes," Taguba says. "The only question is whether those who ordered torture will be held to account."

So chimp is pushing for offshore drilling now the same as mcsame.

This is a total farce because if we drill for oil and start producing it, OPEC will turn down the tap to keep prices high.

I heard on the Ed Schultz show yesterday that the "fact" the neocons are lying about when they say "the Chinese are drilling off the coast of Florida" is total bullshit. They are not drilling off the coast of Florida.

The neocons are saying the liberals won't let them drill off the coast of Florida is also a lie. jeb bush himself blocked the drilling off the Gulf Coast of Florida and he is a repuke like his brother.

If we drill for more oil, bush will no doubt ship it overseas to make more profit like they have been doing with the Alaskan Oil for the last 30 years.

So don't let these misers blow smoke up your ass. They are all a pack of liars and must be prosecuted. They tried to prosecute Bill Clinton for lying so why not stick it to them too.

I continue to be amazed at the ignorance of that last twenty something percent, who do not understand that allowing more drilling will accomplish one thing, and that is to give US oil companies more oil to EXPORT to Asia and India where they command more for it ! It will not help Americans at all !!!!

And, oh yeah, god forbid we cut into those obscene profits of $81 BILLION per year ! Let's keep the corporate welfare going. They really need it!

When will that last, simple minded minority open their beady little eyes!

repuke phil gramm of texas is the asshole we need to go after. he pushed through a bill deregulating the commodities market in 2000 so his rich friends would benefit.

He's the one responsible for the high commodity prices. We need to re-regulate the commodities market.

50
Johne on June 18, 2008 at 08:35 AM

I don't think the Chinese have the technological know how to drill off the coast of any continent unless bush and cheney sold them the equipment for profit.

I have many decades to go before I am called to my reward.

ahhhh, Thom-ass, Thom-ass, Tim Russert thought he had a long time to go, too, but you never know from day to day! All that hatred boiling in your gut, is taking it's toll on you, and mark my words, you will be reaping what you sowed before too much longer! How's that porn site of your's coming btw?

(oh, and you will have to forgive the typos, I am typing while holding a baby in one arm, and I hit some wrong keys. But you will never have to worry about any grandkids, will you? Not with those ugly mugs you spawned!) :)

They are drilling off the coast of Cuba, very close to Florida

Isn't it gratifying to know how Bush's tough boy attitude and crack down on Cubans, and strict sanctions have proven to be so rewarding to the USA??? They turn to other countries for their benefits, and spit in our faces! You go, Georgie boy. You have just about destroyed us now! Wait till you bomb Iran and start WW III ! That ought to show the world how tough you are !!!

54
PamB on June 18, 2008 at 08:51 AM

here's those good ole Compassionate Conservatives. Not only have they destroyed the job market in the USA, now they try and screw the poor slobs who lost their jobs.

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans blocked legislation Tuesday that would have given an extra three months of jobless benefits for all unemployed Americans, but congressional Democrats plan to bring the bill back by attaching it to an Iraq war funding measure.

(OH, but keep that corporate welfare going, so Exxon can enjoy every last penney of that $81 Billion dollars per year profit )

TOKYO (AFP) - Former US presidential contender Mike Huckabee urged his fellow Republicans on Wednesday not to denigrate Democrat Barack Obama, saying they should celebrate the historic moment of a black candidate.

"Republicans will make a fundamental if not fatal mistake if they seek to win the election by demonising Barack Obama," Huckabee told a news conference on a visit to Tokyo.

The former Arkansas governor said that, having grown up in the segregated South, he never thought he would see an African-American win the nomination of a major party for the US presidency

Thats the same squirrel face said to her daughter, in reference to the identity of the father, of the little bastard.

YOU don't have a clue, do you, Danny boy! Don't believe everything ole stevie tells you, I can show you some whoppers and crazy ramblings of his if you would like!

And Thom-ASS, I would put a pretty penny up that any children born from your sperm, from that dried up sack of your's, are NOT a pretty sight! And that's a fact!!!!!

Now here is the kind of kid I expect MN-Thom-ass to have:

MINNEAPOLIS - Two teenagers were charged Tuesday in the killings of a woman who was stabbed and cut more than 100 times and her 10-year-old son, who had a television smashed over his head, prosecutors said.

HAHAHAHA, I knew you were mis-informed, but you are really blind!

REPUBLICAN and religious righties women have abortions too! They just don't talk about it!

And that is bullshit straight out of The Republican idiot's guide to republicanism! just for kicks, ask your wife if she thinks having your insides scraped out would appeal to her as a way of birth control!! Jerk!

And maybe you didn't pay enough attention to Clinton's Welfare reform, but women have a cut-off now on number of children they get welfare money for! Do a little research before you look like an ass !

Oh, and too bad your old lady did not keep her legs together the night she spawned you!!!! What a waste of an egg and sperm!

Does anyone have any suggestions for other leftist blogs that we could move in on Posted by Frederick-Hollywood on June 18, 2008 at 03:19 AM

Yes, I do. Go to www.gofuckyourself.com

I believe Dick Cheney blogs over there quite often.
