From the QT column in today's Sun-Times:

Gushing with pride?

News Headline: "Oil hits record price of $144 a barrel."

Or as a major oil company consultant put it a few weeks after the 9/11 attacks:

"If bin Laden takes over and becomes king of Saudi Arabia, he'd turn off the tap. He said at one point that he wants oil to be $144 a barrel."

Happy Fourth of --

Well. We still have work to do. Always will.

Happy Fourth of July!

Well, I guess bin Laden won then.

Obama winning one for the Gipper?

Maybe this will show up in 45 to 60 minutes if I'm lucky.

McCain Said Military Service Doesn't Make Someone Better Equipped To Be President

When McCain said this in 2003, was he defending Bush's shortcomings against Kerry's heroics?

I liked your rant about the blog last night. Made me laugh, even as I yelled FIX the BLOG!!!

12
Cate on July 3, 2008 at 12:17 PM

Even though I haven't posted for an hour, the blog gives me a submission error notice. Too many submission in too short of a time span.

The IT guys at the DNC are just nuts.

Oh, and if the other post I tried shows up twice, blame them.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John McCain's campaign announced a shakeup at the top Wednesday, in the wake of growing Republican concern about its ability to compete against Sen. Barack Obama.

Campaign manager Rick Davis said Tuesday that senior adviser Steve Schmidt would take over day-to-day operations of the campaign.

The Bush campaign veteran will report to Davis, but the rest of the campaign will report to Schmidt, who will be in charge of everything from messaging and communications to the political structure, organization and scheduling.

Schmidt will be assisted by Mike McDonald, a fellow veteran of the Bush-Cheney and Arnold Schwarzenegger campaigns, who recently joined him on the McCain team.

Such a maverick...

CNN) -- As Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama battle over who has the best approach to national security, a new CNN poll finds Americans' concerns about terrorism have hit an all-time low for the post-September 11 era.

Good news for Americans. Bad news for McBush.

Our Republican Congressman, Mark Souder is missing in action too. He should be held accountable for this country going down the tubes. He came in on Ronnie's shirt tails and now, he's no where to be found. We the people of northern Indiana should be demanding that he tell us what he is doing with all of the jobs being lost and the gas prices so high.

He doesn't have the balls to face us......

Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh...contracts worth close to a billion dollars combined.

What the fuck does that tell you about the United States of America?

Honest to God (if there truly is one) 14 million americans listen to two pigs grunting and screaming and playing with themselves on the radio, on a weekly basis.

Who are those americans?

"The deal - struck a month short of the 20th anniversary of "The Rush Limbaugh Show" - is thought to be the most expensive in radio since Howard Stern moved to Sirius Satellite Radio for a reported $500 million in 2004."

Tha answer to energy prices is not more drilling, mining, and polluting, it is less using. Leave the fossil fuels and their sequestered carbon in the ground and move to renewables, cut usage by 30% (very doable with little disruption or cost)and start being mindful stewards to this planet of ours.

good afternoon dems, i was considering writing an open letter to all the oil traders on wall street for single handedily bringing all americans to their knees. but then i got to thinking, we have oil people occupying our whitehouse. this was the biggest reason for invading iraq. then in 2002, bush, enron, gram and mccain pushed through the enron deal. this is allowing the traders on wall street to do as they wish. but the real kicker of all of this is, the senate and congress can immediatelybring down the price of oil by just writing a letter revoking this bill. check it out for yourselves. and then another thought came to mind. not only do the republican officials have a stake in the profits, but so do the democrats.and the other day obama and mccain made a statement on cnn that the oil prices don't really affect them because the secret service puts the gas in for them. well, where do they think the secret service gets the money? it comes from us, the taxpayers. so not only are all of us struggling with high gas prices, and food and medical prices, we have the added price of all of their traveling. so, i say we call all the elected officials back from their vacation immediately and make them sign that letter revoking the enron deal. if they don't want to, i say we fire all of them and put people in who will work for the people ,by the people and of the people.
