Good afternoon, ALL!
So much for McSame's constant one note symphony about being a POW. Here is a picture of him getting the whole tea and crumpets routine.
"...McCain was offered fresh fruit, tea and cookies, which he accepted."
Something with such a dramatic impact on world economies should be thoroughly studied and debated among all scientists before taking it as fact.

udhhhhhh, Warren. What part have you missed , buddy, where EVERY SINGLE OTHER COUNTRY, the MAJORITY OF SCIENTISTS, the Nobel Prize committee,World Leaders, have all agreed that there is Global Warming! That Bush has refused to allow his own Depts of the Government to come out with the facts that they have found!
And YEAH, are you watching the olympics in China? It is so bad there, the athletes are wearing masks !
Global Warming and the pollution caused by the CO2 being trapped, is VERY VERY REAL.
Google global warming, why don't you.

It's been studied for years. Here's a clip from a 1958 High School film about it. This just didn't pop up overnight.
1958 - Global Warming - It's NOT newly known
I'll see if I can find the link to the entire film.

Hi Pam. China is polluted because they have a huge amount of heavy industry with no controls on emissions at all. Their pollution isn't from global warming, it's from poor or no regulation of emissions.
I am familiar with the arguments on both sides of the issue and not just from google searches.
Barack Obama is expected to choose his running mate this week in a key decision about the direction and narrative of his bid for the White House.
A person familiar with the campaign's planning noted that Obama's schedule at the end of this week is open, but said the announcement could come "as late as the weekend."
Obama and his inner circle have held his intentions tightly, while a wider circle of aides in Chicago has been kept far enough out of the loop that they’re willing to speculate freely on the possible choice.
There are plenty of tea leaves to read. Obama’s schedule this week takes him through the home states of a few possible contenders: He’s spending Monday in New Mexico (Gov. Bill Richardson) and Wednesday in Virginia (Gov. Tim Kaine and former Gov. Mark Warner).
On Saturday, Obama cited former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, 69, as a particularly wise adviser, touching off a wave of speculation.
There’s also a chance that the Summer Olympics, which run through Sunday, could push the campaign to delay the move until the beginning of the Democratic National Convention the next day.
As a candidate whose currency has been his personal story, in choosing his running mate, Obama will also be choosing a narrative.

If these numbers are true, then WHY IS ANYBODY OUT THERE SUPPORTING MCCAIN????
REPORT: 69 percent of foreign policy experts favor redeployment from Iraq.»
Today, the Center for American Progress and Foreign Policy released their annual “Terrorism Index,” a survey of more than 100 U.S. foreign policy experts, conservatives and liberals alike, on developments in international affairs. Some highlights:
– 80 percent say that the U.S. has focused too much on the war in Iraq and not enough on Afghanistan.
– 69 percent recommend that the majority of U.S. forces in Iraq be redeployed in the next 18 months, up one percent from last year.
– Zero percent say Iraq is most likely to become the next al Qaeda stronghold; 51 percent say Pakistan will be.
– 81 percent say U.S. policy towards Iran has negatively impacted national security.

Yeah Blue, my thought exactly. Yesterday or Saturday, GregL posted something to Kathy-in-Indiana, that made me go ??? as well.
Didn't sound like the same person we know as GregL.
Hey Pam - Biden is back from Georgia but Obama is in New Mexico.....
bet he's taking Richardson...
Obama on Monday is campaigning in New Mexico, Gov. Bill Richardson's home state. Richardson is ccommunity onsidered a good pick because he could help bring in support from the Latino

Dearest Non-Global Warming Advocate,
Please stop sucking on your tail pipe. Those gases are not good for you. For any of you who do not think global warming is not real, I dare you to put your hand on your catalitic converter after you let your car run of 10 minutes and go suck on your engine tail pipe for 10 minutes!
1) If you are still alive after that exercise you haven't done what you said, because you are too coward to burn yourself and you know the tail pipe gas can kill. Where do you think that heat is going and where do you think that exhaust is going?
2) If you are dead then your family may start to believe global warming gas is real because you are dead due to your own stupidity.
Either someone hijacked his name, or he is having a really, really bad week.
Catching up on the weekend's blog, I was rather surprised to hear (via Johne) that my Russian is better than Condi's. Who would have thought.

I give up. I'll keep looking for the entire film on line, but you now have the name of the film ("The Unchained Goddess"), The Producer (Frank Capra), the Director (Capra, again), and the Foundation that originally commissioned it (Bell Telephone science series). It was shown on "The Bell Telephone Hour" and then released to Jr. & Sr.High Schools on a rotating 2 day loan basis. All the schools had to do was drive it over to the next District and they stayed on the distribution list, (meaning free classroom materials) .

Media Gets Failing Grade on Climate Change Coverage
By Joseph D’Aleo, CCM, Fellow of the AMS in the Energy Tribune
If there is a proof of bias towards a cause that would serve a certain political and ideological view of the world, this must be the position that the much of the popular media has taken on global warming. As an institution the press has abdicated its position in providing fair and balanced coverage of climate change. It has become advocacy journalism and most all the major networks and magazines are guilty of it. But thanks to magazines and websites like the Energy Tribune and the internet blogosphere and talk radio, the truth can still be found. 12 Facts about Global Climate Change That You Won’t Read in the Popular Press:
1. Global temperatures have been cooling since 2002 (0.3F), even as carbon dioxide has continued to rise (3.5%).
2. Carbon dioxide is a trace gas and by itself will produce little warming. Also, as CO2 increases, the incremental warming is less, as the effect is logarithmic so the more CO2, the less warming it produces.
3. CO2 has been totally uncorrelated with temperature over the last decade, and significantly negative since 2002.
4. CO2 is not a pollutant, but a naturally occurring gas. Together with chlorophyll and sunlight, it is an essential ingredient in photosynthesis and is, accordingly, plant food.
5. Reconstruction of paleoclimatological CO2 concentrations demonstrates that carbon dioxide concentration today is near its lowest level since the Cambrian Era some 550 million years ago, when there was almost 20 times as much CO2 in the atmosphere as there is today without causing a “runaway greenhouse effect.”
6. Temperature changes lead, not lag, CO2 changes on all time scales. The oceans may play a key role, emitting carbon dioxide when they warm as carbonated beverages lose fizz as they warm and absorbing it as they cool.
7. Most of the warming in the climate models comes from the assumption that water vapor and precipitation increase as temperatures warm, a strong positive feedback. Water vapor is a far more important greenhouse gas than CO2. However, that assumption has been shown in observations and peerreviewed research to be wrong, and in fact water vapor and precipitation act as a negative feedback that reduces any small greenhouse warming from carbon dioxide.
8. Indeed, greenhouse models show the warming should be greatest at mid to high atmosphere levels in the tropics. But balloon and satellite observations show cooling there. The greenhouse signature or DNA does not match reality, and the greenhouse models thus must greatly overstate the warming and in a court of law would have to be acquitted of any role in global warming
9. The sun has both direct and indirect effects on our climate. Solar activity changes on cycles of 11 years and longer. When the sun is more active it is brighter and a little hotter. More important though are the indirect effects. Ultraviolet radiation increases much more than the brightness and causes increased ozone production, which generates heat in the high atmosphere that works its way down, affecting the weather. Also, an active sun diffuses cosmic rays, which play an important role in nucleation of low clouds, resulting in fewer clouds. In all these ways the sun warms the planet more when it is active. An active sun in the 1930s and again near the end of the last century helped produce the observed warming periods. The current solar cycle is the longest in over 100 years, an unmistakable sign of a cooling sun that historical patterns suggest will stay so for decades.
10. The multidecadal cycles in the ocean correlate extremely well with the solar cycles and global temperatures. These are 60 to 70 year cycles that relate to natural variations in the largescale circulations. Warm oceans correlate with warm global temperatures. The Pacific started cooling in the late 1990s and it accelerated in the last year, and the Atlantic has cooled from its peak in 2004. This supports the observed global land temperature cooling, which is strongly correlated with ocean heat content. Newly deployed NOAA buoys confirm global ocean cooling.
11. Warmer ocean cycles are periods with diminished Arctic ice cover. When the oceans were warm in the 1930s to the 1950s, Arctic ice diminished and Greenland warmed. The recent ocean warming, especially in the 1980s to the early 2000s, is similar to what took place 70 years ago and the Arctic ice has reacted much the same way, with diminished summer ice extent.
12. Antarctic ice has been increasing and the extent last year was the greatest in the satellite monitoring era.
What will it take for the media to let go of their biases and begin doing their job, reporting the truth?
Good afternoon, all.
What do you suppose is causing more hot air to be circulating around in Florida thse days? Hurricane Fay or Joe Lieberman?
So McCain was suppose to be in the Cone of Silence at Rick Warren's Faith Forum and cheated? Did anyone think he would observe the rules or that the evangelicals would enforce them?
They don't take anything seriously because they think they can do no wrong...God is on their side? McCain thinks these are His people as He's the Second Coming...of who knows what, maybe Katrina?
the Russia/Georgia conflict !
Afterward, Mr. Bush said of Mr. Putin, "He's been very truthful and to me, that's the only way you can find common ground." It was one of many moments when the United States seemed to have missed - or gambled it could manage - the depth of Russia's anger and the resolve of the Georgian president to provoke the Russians.
The story of how a 16-year, low-grade conflict over who should rule two small, mountainous regions in the Caucasus erupted into the most serious post-cold-war showdown between the United States and Russia is one of miscalculation, missed signals and overreaching, according to interviews with diplomats and senior officials in the United States, the European Union, Russia and Georgia. In many cases, the officials would speak only on the condition of anonymity.
It is also the story of how both Democrats and Republicans have misread Russia's determination to dominate its traditional sphere of influence.
As with many foreign policy issues, this one highlighted a continuing fight within the administration. Vice President Dick Cheney and his aides and allies, who saw Georgia as a role model for their democracy promotion campaign, pushed to sell Georgia more arms, including Stinger antiaircraft missiles, so that it could defend itself against possible Russian aggression.
On the other side, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, National Security Adviser Stephen J. Hadley and William J. Burns, the new under secretary of state for political affairs, argued that such a sale would provoke Russia, which would see it as arrogant meddling in its turf, the officials and diplomats said.
They describe three leaders on a collision course. Mr. Bush, rewarding Georgia for its robust troop contribution to Iraq - at 2,000, the third highest, behind the United States and Britain - promised NATO membership and its accompanying umbrella of American military support. Mr. Putin, angry at what he saw as American infringement right in his backyard, decided that Georgia was the line in the sand that the West would not be allowed to cross. And Mr. Saakashvili, unabashedly pro-American, was determined to show, once and for all, that Georgia was no longer a vassal of Russia.

Yeah, I speak and read Russian. I'm first generation here, and of course, I life long Dem. I've noticed your rather frequent posting of articles from Pravda. It's not a news source I'm always comfortable with given it's history during the Cold War. But, I won't knock it. Even Pravda publishes a modicum of truth where our journalists don't and won't. I've always found the foreign press to have more integrity.

Wonders never cease. Let's arm the goat herders to protect itself from the big bad Russian bear. I'm not making fun of goat herders -- someone has to do it. Too laughable.
I also laugh hard when the MSM keeps repeating how Bush looked into Putin's eyes and saw his soul. Putin may have had an Eastern Orthodox upbringing by his mother, but exposing his soul to Bush? I think that Valodya has a good giggle about that one.
make sure all your Republican friends, especially those with kids in service or Veterans see this!
McCain Sells Out Veterans
Times have changed since McCain needed veterans services so urgently. And for many of those thirty-five years, McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, the candidate who talks the best talk on veterans issues, has demonstrated a tendency to work against veterans' interests, voting time after time against funding and in favor of privatizing services--in other words, of rolling back the VA's improvements by supporting some of the same policies that wrecked Walter Reed.
During a March 2005 Senate budget debate, McCain voted to kill an amendment that would have "increase[d] veterans medical care by $2.8 billion in 2006." That amendment lacked an assured funding stream, but lest one mistake this incident for a maverick's stance against budget-busting, there's more. Just a year later McCain voted against an amendment that would have "increase[d] Veterans medical services funding by $1.5 billion in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes." Two days after it failed, he voted to kill "an assured stream of funding for veterans' health care that [would] take into account the annual changes in the veterans' population and inflation to be paid for by restoring the pre-2001 top rate for income over $1 million, closing corporate tax loopholes and delaying tax cuts for the wealthy." That amendment died quietly, forty-six to fifty-four.
In September 2006 McCain voted to table an amendment to a Defense appropriations bill that would have prevented the department from contracting out support services at Walter Reed. The amendment was indeed tabled--by a vote of fifty to forty-eight, the sort of margin a true veterans' senator might have been able to flip if he really cared about veterans' healthcare.
"John McCain voted against veterans in 2004, '05, '06 and '07," says Jeffrey David Cox, who spent twenty-two years as a VA nurse before moving to the American Federation of Government Employees, where he serves as secretary-treasurer (AFGE represents employees of several federal agencies, including the VA
Still think McCain is some kind of hero?
Seems that the Veterans do not.

Blue,
I've seen the same clips played several times. I bet that's more attention than most Americans gave to the Great Debate.
It didn't seem much of a forum...more like a rehash over old issues with Obama being thoughtful and McCain demanding people pay him homage.
Me thinks, the evangelicals were the real victims in this pow wow. They couldn't control the McCain lobbyists who took advantage of their hospitatlity.
And, of course, the McCain people are whinning today that Andrea Mitchell overstepped herself by reporting the facts...just like we all know these rank opportunists will do when they get caught doing something underhanded.

WASHINGTON — The Forest Service has struggled for years to pay for fighting fires that last year alone scorched almost 10 million acres. As fire seasons grow longer and the blazes more intense in forests stressed by global warming, the agency's funding woes mount.
In fact, the Forest Service has already spent roughly $900 million this year, almost 75 percent of its fire suppression budget, and the season is just nearing its peak.
Nearly half the Forest Service's annual budget is now spent on battling wildfires or trying to prevent them. In 1991, only 13 percent of its budget was spent on fires.

The 'Eastern Orthodox Church' is the second largest single Christian communion in the world. It is considered by its adherents to be the very same Church established by Christ and his Apostles. It is composed of numerous theologically unified autocephalous ecclesial bodies, each shepherded by a synod of independent bishops whose duty is to preserve the beliefs and practices (Traditions) of the Church. All Orthodox bishops can trace their lineage back to one of the twelve Apostles through the process of apostolic succession.

You have to ask yourself: Does it matter what the trolls think of me? For cripessakes, they deny global warming, think that democrats are going to take away their guns and tax their blow-up dolls and entertain themselves with the notion that all foreigners are the boogeymen. Why would anyone care what these fools believe about any subject or any person? Let the hook float by.
Posted by Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on August 18, 2008 at 04:45 PM
Gee, would it be wrong to minimize a veterans service to his country??? Damn, where did I put that purple heart bandaid...
It's not that anyone is "minimizing" his service, it's just the hypocrisy of him insisting that NOBODY can mention it, yet he does as often as Rudy used "9-11". His campaign twit even used it to dismiss the probably that McSame had the questions before he went to Jesus Jamboree this weekend.
“The insinuation from the Obama campaign that John McCain, a former prisoner of war, cheated is outrageous,” Ms. Wallace said.
As some blogger said, (sorry, I can't remember what site I saw it on):

He got nothin' but whining. HE can't run on ony record to be proud of and he can't run on any vision or ideas because he doesn't have any.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- John McCain told fellow veterans on Monday that his Democratic rival Barack Obama tried to legislate failure in Iraq nd has refused to admit he erred when opposing the military increase there last year.
McCain said Obama placed his political self-interest ahead of his country's, a theme the Arizona Republican has often repeated. McCain told a friendly convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars that Obama's positions have changed as his political ambitions grew.

Here we go again. The bitch is promising to rebuild eastern Europe and is promising to restart the Cold War. Who appointed this bitch presidunce? Is the bitch going to declare war on Russia? I hate to tell her but we would be stomped with the condition of our military ruined by the chimpenfuhrer. The chimpenfuhrer's grandfather would be proud of his grandson making the Russians pay for killing his best buddy Hitler.
BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Monday that Russia is playing a "very dangerous game" with the U.S. and its allies and warned that NATO would not allow Moscow to win in Georgia, destabilize Europe or draw a new Iron Curtain through the continent.
But with no sign of Russia withdrawing its troops from Georgia despite a pledge to do so and indications it has moved short-range ballistic missiles into the disputed area of South Ossetia, it was unclear how the alliance would make good on Rice's vow.
On her way to an emergency NATO foreign ministers meeting on the crisis, Rice said the alliance would punish Russia for its invasion of Georgia and deny its ambitions by rebuilding and fully backing Georgia and other Eastern European democracies.

hugebanana,
mclame is such a putz. Almost every sentence he utters through his lying lips he brings up the fact that he was a prisoner of war.
I am so sick of this pandering. We need to push his buttons and bring out the truth about his war record. I'll bet he would explode and challenge the person "betraying" his lies to a duel.
We should dig up some of the old prison guards
from and get the true story. It might even pay to put them on Utube or bring them here to challenge mcliar in person.
When I was in the Army, it was my duty, if captured, to give only name, rank and serial number. I believe that we were instructed that it was our duty to escape by any means possible. It seems mclame violated military regulations and spilled his guts on numerous occasions.
Do we want to honor this liar with the presidency of the United States?

I am so sick of the evangelical freaks trying to overthrow the United States government. They are doing their best to badmouth Obama every day by lying.
I thought it was a sin to lie and that one would be sent straight to hell for lying.
Enjoy your stay in hell you fake, religious, lying, chicken hawk evangelical freaks. If they had their way we would still hang blacks and hispanics or drag them behind red-neck pickups with a beer in one hand and a KKK headdress in the other.

I understand that a large number of evangelicals spend time in airport restrooms tap dancing. Then they deny that they are light in the loafers and openly criticize gays. What hypocrites.
A lof of them are pedophiles and they love to "play" with children.
If they are found out, they deny being a hypocrite or go to a "special" treatment center where they are cured in two weeks and all is forgiven by their fellow evangelicals.

Breaking: Conyers Calls Committee Back From Summer Recess To Investigate Suskind Allegationswww.opednews.com/articles/Breaking-Conyers-Calls-Co-by-Ralph...
House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers has taken the highly unusual step of calling his committee back from summer recess in order to investigate allegations by Ron Suskind that the Bush administration forged a letter to buttress the links made between Saddam and 9/11, and Saddam and WMD. The congressional Authorization for the Use of Force Against Iraq, the ""War Resolution" which, as far short as it fell of a congressional declaration of war, gave the invasion its constitutional legal cover, and gave Bush the authorization to invade only after he had certified to congress the existence of these two critical links. If Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, and if he did not possess WMD, the war was off.

I thought this weekend was supposed to be about talking about your faith? Why couldn't McCain talk about God in a personal way? All he did was give his usual stump speech.
(Yoo-hoo, comments; come out, come out, where ever you are. Are they ever going to fix this fricken blog? "Preview" function? My asterisk!)
Hypocritical Busheviks:
Jon Stewart nails it. (Again.)
The Portalski family is accustomed to hearing Cindy McCain described as Hensley's only child.
She's been described that way by news organizations from The New Yorker and The New York Times to Newsweek and ABC.
McCain herself routinely uses the phrase "only child," as she did on CNN last month. "I grew up with my dad," she said then. "I'm an only child. My father was a cowboy, and he really loved me very much, but I think he wanted a son occasionally."

Isn't that what the Bush lawyers said was the purpose of legalizing waterboarding? Get prisoners to become so desperate that they will say or do anything?
Rock star Jackson Browne has sued U.S. presidential candidate John McCain for copyright infringement, accusing the presumptive Republican nominee of using the singer's 1977 hit "Running on Empty" in a campaign ad without permission.
The suit, filed on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, also names the Republican National Committee and the Ohio Republican Party as defendants. It seeks a permanent injunction against further use of Browne's music and at least $75,000 in damages. [snip]
The suit claims use of the song without Browne's permission is a copyright violation and a breach of the U.S. Lanham Act by falsely implying Browne is associated with and endorses McCain's bid for president.
It also says use of Browne's voice in the ad violates the performer's so-called right of publicity under California law.
McCain’s copyright problem: oh, the hypocrisy.

Johne,
I'd like to understand why the MSM thinks that the American public would feel more secure knowing that crazy old man McCain might be in the White House instead of Obama. They say it matter of factly all the time.
Yet when I'm canvassing, it's the Republicans who are the first to say that McCain is the last person you'd want there. Yep, they're saying that they are going to vote for the person not the Party this time around, because they just don't trust The Maverick...he's dangerous and and an opportunist.
He can't keep the facts straight. He lives in the past. And he's so full of himself with his constant re-telling of His (not any other POW's) suffering in the Hanoi Hilton that he's driving people to look at the alternative more closely ...and not being too unhappy with what they find.
A rationale person in charge for a change? Shudder the thought.
Taxpayers have had enough of a Republican foreign policy by-the-seat-of-the-pants and making it up as they go along. There used to be a time when the U.S. used intelligence to form foreign policy instead of using it to justify constantly reacting to one crisis after another.
Perhaps McCain's MSM-precieved "strength" is actually Obama's opportunity? Let McCain continue to squawk about his "experience" and point to the "success" that we all know is a Iraq.
That's another assertion that the MSM continues to let pass unchallenged.
The only "success" in Iraq is that all of the factions have called a truce till they can drive out the invaders. McCain will be completely surprised when the Iraqi Parliament and Prime Minister go to The Hauge demanding that we leave.
Not even Spunky doesn't see that coming.

Deployed Troops Donate to Obama 6-1 Over McCain
Jon Soltz (Co-Founder and Chair of VoteVets.org):
News from the field makes its way through chow halls, and our men and women read it during the rare moments they get to check the internet. They know that the current course our military is on is not sustainable, and they're looking for a dramatic change. They've felt it for a long time, whether the media wants to acknowledge that or not.
I don't think this has as much to do with Obama and McCain as it does with continuing the current Bush course, or changing it. And our troops, who don't have a whole lot of money to give, are voting right now with their wallets.
So, do our troops hate the troops? No, of course not. Our troops love America, and that's the point.

Yea, they are going to lose big time when both Communist China and Russia start nationalizing all those factories that our Globalist capitalist whiz kids insisted must be built there.
Thank you very much, Mr. Globalist Idiot.
Where in the hell are we going to build all those new tanks that McArthur McCain is going to use in in this charge through the Urals?
Do the Republicans think that the Parkistani and Indians aren't going to sell the military technology we've been developing in their countries to the Russsians? Nobody could be that stupid, could they?
Have you been watching the Olympics (the Chinese in particular).
Nationalism is paramount in the world today...everywhere but in the U.S. The GOP insisted that we had to give away all the economic advantages we ever had over other countries.
We didn't even sell it to them. Bush and the Republicans gave it away. They gave away our children's future. What a bunch of swell family-values guys.
oops this was supposed to be in the blockquote, too:

And I wouldn't make fun of those devote KGB members and their American arm in this country, The Russian Mafia, either.
You Republians are so blind. You see radical Islamic terrorists everywhere but none of the KGB right under your noses. Now McCain wants us to fight them over there in Georgia when they've already here and have been since Reagan went senile.

At least Steve has the guts to say it. He Knows on January 20, 2009, the first thing McCain would do is post an Amnesty treaty for all the 20,000,000 illegal aliens. THEN he would issue all the guest worker passes they want to send home to their cousins to come and live here too!
Then on January 21, 2009, John McCain would call Al gore in, and ask him to fix the global Warming in this country, even if it means making the wealthy corporations stop their polluting !
So you see little man, either way the Democrats win! Either we get Obama, OR WE LAUGH OUR ASS OFF AS MCCAIN KISSES EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL ALIEN, AND GREETS AL GORE AT THE FRONT DOOR!!!

A Day in The Life of Joe Republican
Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.
All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance -- now Joe gets it, too.
Joe prepares his morning breakfast; bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and the amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.
Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.
He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union.
If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
It is noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FDIC (or the NCUA, if he's part of a credit union) because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university.
Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads.
He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans.
The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.
Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have." bwhahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Hey. {{Barbi}} Good to see you back here, such as it is.
Not only did McSame steal Intellectual Property from a whole slew of people, (as did Ray-Gun, etc.), but after YEARS of being sued for it one would think that it would sink in to his spongy brain.
Browne's not the only one to point out McCain's casual view of property rights:
– Earlier this week, the McCain campaign re-cut a web ad after comedian Mike Myers’ publicist complained about the use of footage of Myers and fellow Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey’s Wayne’s World characters.– Last month, the McCain campaign had to pull and re-cut a web ad after Frankie Valli’s record label, the Warner Music Group asserted its copyright claims over the use of the song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.”
– Earlier this year, the copyright owners for the “Rocky” theme song “telephoned the McCain campaign to politely complain it was being used without permission.”
Ironically, McCain has joked on the campaign trail that he has refrained from using music by his beloved ABBA because of “licensing and other concerns.” “If you’re not careful you can alienate some Swedes,” said McCain.
Bastard.
Sorry, blockquotes left off the entire passage. The last word from the C & P should be "BASTARDS".

Well, I don't have a blog but go to Icecap for all of the latest sroties on the global frickin warmin hoax. Here is the latest:
Lord Monckton Thrashes DeSmog Blog Editor in High-Profile Global Warming Debate
Liberty News Central
DeSmog Blog editor Richard Littlemore concedes defeat. Lord Christopher Monckton, a global warming expert and former senior policy advisor to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, has an outstanding challenge to Al Gore and other ardent proponents of the theory that humans are causing a global warming crisis to publicly debate the issue. While Al Gore and most other prominent proponents of alarmist global warming theory refuse to publicly debate or defend their claims, Richard Littlemore, editor of the DeSmog Blog Web site, agreed to debate Lord Monckton Sunday, August 17, on Canada’s Corus radio network. Corus host Roy Green moderated the debate. A transcript of all pertinent parts of the debate appears below, followed by some post-debate analysis. Audio of the Monckton-Littlemore debate can be found here.
Lord Monckton fluidly presented his analysis and the scientific data he was citing, while Littlemore, clearly flustered, stammered painfully throughout the debate and made multiple serious gaffes (for example, claiming that melting Arctic sea ice would raise sea levels, when melting sea ice in fact has no effect on sea level). On Littlemore’s own DeSmog Blog, even his most ardent supporters conceded that Littlemore was taking it on the chin throughout the debate.
“Richard, you’ve got to show them you’ve got more than insults,” wrote one sympathetic DeSmog Blog reader. “I’d have to say that Monckton ‘won’ the debate. He came across as more prepared and had answers at his fingertips, whereas Richard appeared to verbally stumble on occasion,” wrote another. After the debate ended, Littlemore himself admitted defeat on his DeSmog Blog.
“In hindsight,” wrote Littlemore, “I played perfectly into the hands of Monckton and his happy radio host, Roy Green, who share the same goal - not to win an argument about global warming science, but merely to show that there still IS an argument. Of course there’s not. But while we danced angels around the head of a pin, I can imagine Green’s listeners thinking, ‘Oh my. This is very confusing. No wonder the government says it’s too early to take action.’
“Score one for Monckton. Thanks (and my apologies) to those of you who volunteered some much-preferable debating strategies. Maybe next time.” While Littlemore blamed Monckton and the moderator for his poor showing, the reality is that poor showings by global warming alarmists are par for the course. On March 14, 2007, an audience at New York Citys prestigious Intelligence Squared debating society declared three prominent global warming “skeptics” the winners in a debate against three prominent global warming alarmists.
The debate was taped by National Public Radio (NPR) and distributed to NPR affiliates across the nation. A pre-debate poll indicated that by a 2-to-1 margin (57 percent to 29 percent, with 14 percent undecided) the on-site audience believed global warming has become a crisis. After the debate, however, the audience indicated by 46 percent to 42 percent they do not believe global warming is a crisis, with 12 percent undecided.
Since the 2007 Intelligence Squared debate, prominent global warming alarmists such as Al Gore, James Hansen, Michael Mann, Gavin Schmidt, Susan Solomon, etc., have refused to publicly debate the science and defend their assertions.
Correction: It was McCain 1 (aka Duhbya) who also was told to stop by Sting, John Fogerty and Los Lobos...
Go to Hell, Frosty! I did NOT call you a monkey. Now, take this banana and scram.
I am going to interject some conservative realities here that are really going to challenge some of the alternative realities that you liberals live in. I keep seeing this term corporate welfare on this blog that somehow implies that the government gives money to companies. I think what you libs are talking about is government tax breaks to companies. And you say this as thought government tax breaks to companies are a bad thing. You liberals seem to want to raise the taxes on businesses as though this would serve to undo some kind of injustice.
I have a bit of reality for you. It is impossible for a business to pay taxes. Profound isnt it? But it is true. Companies cannot pay taxes. People pay taxes. Companies are no more than a piece of paper and a building. People make a business work. Either the people who are employed by a business or the people that purchase the companys goods or services. People are going to pay the price one way or another when you tax a business. Either through lower wages, less employment, or the cost of goods and services will simply go up. It may even be a combination of these impacts. No matter what, people will be effected in a negative way. Businesses may even move their operations away from the taxes to remain competitive. Good bye jobs.
So you see when you attack companies, you are really attacking people. Working people. You will be hurting the very people you think you are helping. You simply can not tax a business without negative impacts on people. So go a head tell me I am a stupid neocon. Tell me I am ignorant and dont get it. Call me names, please. I am right! And you know it. Business dont pay taxes, people do.
Did you sign up with the McCain "troll a blog" campaign, CHStuart?
Yes, you are very ignorant, so just go away and try to impress someone else with your idiotic right-wing nut positions.
Your "servicing" isn't needed here.
There is not a whole lot of tolerance, unity, open mind ness, or for that matter intellectual thought that goes on in the democrat party these days it there, Barbi?
Ok, Barbi, tell me where I am wrong. What is so idiotic about what I posted. Am I wrong? How? Can you string a thought together that does not include a litany of name calling? Is there any expression in you that says "hey I have a brain?" Tell me where I am wrong!
Gore loses the election -- waaaaaaaaaaaaaa Bush cheated!
Kerry loses the election waaaaaaaaaaaa Bush cheated!
Hussein Obama gets his ass pounded in a debate -- waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa McCain cheated!!
Ch,
The GAO announced the other day that 2/3 of corporations avoid taxes and no foreign corporations pay tax.
This is utterly disgraceful no matter how much neocon spin you put on it. Just shut the fuck up. I am tired of hearing this neocon diatribe (bullshit). That's all we hear on the MSM and the radio from the freaks like limpballs, hannity, savage, coldsore, cunningham, ad infinitum and it gets mighty old.
We also hear the same hateful bullshit from the bates brothers, janet parschall, and a dozen other phony religious radio freaks. These people are far from being christians. They are fascist pigs like bush and cheney.
CHStuart, when companies get a charter they get an ein number which is the corporate equivalent to a ss# for a person. The corporation is considered to be an entity, legally. The corporation can then distribute it's profit to the owners in the form of a payroll, for which there is a SS ceiling, (they don't pay SS tax after a certain amount approx. 125000) or they can issue dividends, which are taxable, they can also form what is known a an S corp and prevent double taxation, the c-corps net earnings, then dividends, by passing the income directly through the corporation to the individual owners, kind of like a partnership. So what in the hell is your point.
Also, when clinton was president CEO's made approx. 40 times more than the avg. worker on the floor. Now they make 400 times more, because the worker on the floor is a commie/chinese. Even Chinese companies and India companies CEO's make about 40 times more than the workers. This seven years has seen the biggest transfer of wealth and by the way they want to pay a less percentage of their income than the average school teacher in america pays. I said percentage not amount.
CHStuart, because these concepts are all new to you, you may ask, why are the chinese CEO's only making 40 times more when the American CEO's that have globalized, shipped american jobs to china, make 400 times more. The answer is because the chinese laboror makes about $1.50 an hour. So for a 40 hour work week 40x1.50= $60 dollars. So when the american company turns around and sells it's goods made in china to the US they can sell say a pair of Sunglasses for 10 bucks, but in China they have to lower prices to match what the people make. They would not sell any sunglasses in china at 10 bucks a pair, they might get 2 bucks if that. So the american companies make out like bandits the republicans have delivered, free trade, low taxes for the wealthy, and cheap commie labor, a dream come true for the republicans. And screw the USA.
Mexican Scientist Warn ‘Little Ice Age’ for up to 80 Years Due to Decrease in Solar
From Alexandre Aguiar, MetSul Meteorologia (Brazil)
A news wire by the EFE news agency got great attention in the Latin American media in the recent days. A study conducted by the Mexican university UNAM (Universidade Nacional Autonoma de Mexico) warns that a new Little Ice Age is imminent. The forecast calls for a period of 60 to 80 years of cooling due to the reduced solar activity. The research was presented by Victor Manuel Velasco of the UNAM’s Geophysics Institute. Velasco told the audience during a conference that the recent break in the Perito Moreno glaciar (Argentina) occurred for natural reasons and cannot be attributed to global climate change.
image
The Mexican researcher also criticized the forecasts of the IPCC of a warming globe. Victor Manuel Velasco emphasized the Sun is undergoing a period of transition towards a period of very low activity. An English translation of his report follows:
An expert from the National Autonomous University of Mexico predicted that in about ten years the Earth will enter a “little ice age” which will last from 60 to 80 years and may be caused by the decrease in solar activity. Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the UNAM, as argued earlier during a conference that teaches at the Centre for Applied Sciences and Technological Development.
Velasco Herrera described as erroneous predictions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), pursuant to which the planet is experiencing a gradual increase in temperature, the so-called global warming. The models and forecasts of the IPCC “is incorrect because only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity,” said the specialist also in image processing and signs and prevention of natural disasters. The phenomenon of climate change, he added, should include other kinds of factors, both internal, such as volcanoes and the very human activity, and external, such as solar activity. “In this century glaciers are growing”, as seen in the Andes, Perito Moreno, Logan, the highest mountain in Canada, and with Franz-Josef Glacier, New Zealand, said Velasco Herrera. The prognosis on the emergence of a new Ice Age has little uncertainty as to their dates. The latest, according to Victor Manuel Velasco, could arrive in approximately two years. In another lecture he gave at the beginning of last December, the same expert had said that the cooling would arrive within 30 or 40 years. And in early July, Velasco Herrera said that satellite data indicate that this period of global cooling could even have already begun, since 2005.
Keith Olbermann Inspires New Vocabulary Words
Whereas moonbats try to delete terms from our vocabulary, the more constructive among us offer new ones. Here are a couple from reader Bob Mc:
Word: Blo'tard
Definition: Bloviating retard.
Example: Keith Olbermann is a blo'tard, see why at: www.olbermannwatch.com.
Word: Olbytard
Definition: A deranged follower of a political cult led by demented blo'tard Keith Olbermann.
Example: An Olbytard will believe anything that comes out of the merlot hole of the deranged nut job, Keith Olbermann.
A handy feature on the electoral-vote.com web site is a one-click comparison of the current electoral map projections with those on the same date four years ago. Today's map shows Obama with a projected 275 votes to McCain's 250, with 13 up for grabs. Four years ago — Kerry 317, Bush 202, and 19 tied.
This is America. People should be able to make as much money as they can. Its none of your business and it is none of the governments business. Its not just about taxes (which the top 50% of wage earners pay 97% of the income taxes), the more money people make the more they spend and invest in the free market. This causes the economy to grow and creates more jobs. Come on people this Econ 101 stuff here.
The wealthy are not a pool of money for you socialist to dip your hands in every time you want to fund some social experiment. Socialism does not work. It never has and it never will. Socialism completely robs people of their potential by minimizing the rewards for hard work and taking risks. You simply cannot tax your way into prosperity.
I want Hillery as the VP I don,t know any of the other ones he can choose I wanted Hillery for President because her husband was such a good President and I don,t care about lying about cheating on her that is a religious problem but lying to the people and going to war and killing thousands of people to me is by far a worse crime. Even Obama says things Clinton did in office he liked why can,t the Obama people just give in and let us all be happy, Half of us want Hillery and we will be happy being second and half will be happy because they'll have the leader for the change they want if he does I,m sure Obama will win if he don,t I,m not sure he will. I know a lot people who are not voting because of the hate for Hillery. Let Obama pick for his self he looked good with Hillery they made a good team I think people are blind to how smart and poised they both looked and remember Clinton had a balanced budget the only President to have one so what danger is he to Obama Clinton knows better than to interfere
